Maze let out a yawn, as she sat at the front of the crowd. It was three am, and Alaric had called an assembly. Sleepily, Ari and Jade sat on opposite sides of Mazikeen, as Ari leant her head against the Saltzman's shoulders, ready to fall back to sleep.
Behind the podium stood Alaric, and beside him was a sleepy Molly, who was about to interpret everything Alaric was about to say, for her son.
"Yesterday, I came into possession of another Malivore artifact. It was my hope to find a method of containment before it signaled another monster, but given the emergency meeting I've just called, I'm sure you can guess how well that went." Alaric began, as Molly signed along.
"Do you see Hope anywhere?" Jade asked, as Maze shook her head, "I don't." She confessed.
"But rest assured we are taking every precaution. Sheriff Donovan has been kind enough to open the doors of the Lockwood Mansion to us, so Mr. Williams and Ms. Tig are now in the process of evacuating our students from the lower grades." Alaric continued before Bianca's shrill voice asked, "Can't we just get rid of the artefact?"
"We are much more well-equipped than the world at large to handle the arrival of a monster." Alaric answered the Harris' question. "Once we know what we're dealing with and the problem is contained, then we can reassess what to do with the artifact. If any of you would like to evacuate, please talk to Dorian or Emma. However, exam week will continue as scheduled, wherever you are."
Maze scrunched up her face with disgust, as she thought about the exams she had barely studied for. Everyone else in the crowd groaned also.
"I know. I'm sorry. I can't exactly call the state accreditation board and tell them that we're cancelling the exams because of monsters." Alaric said, as Maze mumbled annoyedly under her breath.
"We'll get through this, I promise. Try and get some rest, okay? Good night." Alaric concluded the assembly, as the students began to disperse.

Ari held wet cloth to the gash on Jade's cheek. She said she'd gotten it in a dream, just like some of the other students had.
The Mae and Hale may of had some awkward tension between them still, but seeing the injured wolf, Ari decided to forget for at least a moment that she'd confessed to her best friend who was probably into her other best friend, to help her.
Once the wound was clean, Ari removed the cloth from her best friends neck, though it didn't heal. "Aren't werewolves supposed to heal?" Ari asked, nervously. Jade nodded, "Yep. And this wound doesn't seem to want to heal." She huffed.
Mazikeen approached the pair, her face expression going from sleepy to concerned upon seeing Jade's wound. "What the hell— are you okay?" She asked, as Jade and Ari turned to the Saltzman. "Yeah I think so... I got this wound in a dream." The Hale responded, seeming confused by the whole ordeal herself.
Hope, noticing how close Maze was standing to Jade, quickly approached the group. "What did you see, in this dream?" She asked.
Maze took a step back, for Hope to join their little circle, which the Mikealson had intended. "I saw this woman... she was wearing a black dress..." The werewolf trailed off.
"Did she say something like, you know what I want?" A voice asked, belonging to Rafael. The group spun around, and it was then they saw his injury also.
"Yeah.." Jade spoke up, as she approached Rafael. "She did say something like that." The Hale admitted.
Jesse and Landon, the newly-together boyfriends, approached the group, showing injuries of their own. Jade rushed to her brother's side, as Landon reluctantly stepped away from Jesse so Jade could examine his injury.
"You'd think after failing so much, she would try a different approach." Maze suddenly spoke, as Ari nodded, "Yeah... you would think so." She laughed awkwardly.
"The urn..." Jade suddenly said, before she spun around. "What if this is our next monster, and she is after the urn?" The Hale asked.
"Sounds like our next monster showed up." Alaric declared, as himself and Molly approached the group, as if they hadn't just heard Jade's observation. Molly walked over to Jesse and Jade, and examined their injuries as she had a concerned look on her face.
"You know, every culture on Earth has legends about creatures that only appear in dreams. But a woman in a black dress and a veil is pretty specific." Alaric admitted, as he took a book from the bookshelf.
"So, does that mean that she can control what we see in our dreams?" Jesse asked, signing with his hands. "That she can put stuff in our... in our heads, right?" Rafael added. "It's possible." Molly replied, also using hand signs so Jesse could understand.
"Does that look familiar?" Alaric suddenly asked, as he'd been flipping through a book. He held up the book, as it was open on a page that revealed a woman in a black dress.
The look on Jade, Jesse, Rafael and Landon's face had said enough.

"A black winged what?"
"Shape shifting dream demon..." Maze answered boredly, as herself and the Super Squad were in a circle. She simply wanted to kill the demon and finally get a good night's sleep.
"How the hell are we supposed to kill a dream demon?" Rafael asked.
"Leave that part to me." Hope insisted with a smile. "But since I can't fall asleep without compromising the location of the urn, I need somebody else to pull it out of the dream plane and into reality."
"So... Freddy Krueger?" MG asked.
"Wait.. wait.. how the fuck are we supposed to do that?" Mazikeen asked, putting emphasis on the word fuck, which caused Jade to snort in amusement.
"If it's anything like the movies, we grab and pull... right?" Ari asked, as MG nodded.
"Yeah, okay. Is it too late to get on the, uh, evacuation bus?" Kaleb asked, before Hope replied, "No. I mean, I'm not gonna ask all of you to stay for this, it has to be your choice."
"I'm not leaving unless Jesse does." Landon declared, before taking his boyfriend's hand. Jesse gives him a reassuring smile, before he gently squeezes the Kirby's hand.
"We already know the answer to that, so..." Jade trailed off before Rafael declared, "I'm not leaving Landon behind."
"I'm a founding member of the Super Squad, so I can't bail." MG declared.
Mazikeen shrugged, "I have nothing better to do. I either take this nap or study... I think I'd much prefer to nap." She announced. Ari giggled, "Me too."
"Y'all gonna get yourselves killed." Kaleb huffed, before he sighed. "But if MG stays, I stay. No child left behind."
"In that case, it's naptime!" Jade announced nervously.

Mazikeen found herself standing by the Salvatore boarding house, years and years before it had been turned into the school. The siphon witch was confused. She looked around, noticing that nobody was around.
She was all alone.
"Mum? Dad?" The blonde called out, before she wandered around. "Lizzie? Josie?"
"Ugh, what do you want?!"
Maze found Lizzie and Josie suddenly, by the balcony. They both wore angry expressions, as they faced their sister. "Oh thank god... I thought I was all alone." Mazikeen admitted, with relief as she took a step towards the girls.
"You are alone." Josie huffed, as herself and Lizzie took a step away from Mazikeen. "Or at least you should be.."
"What? What is that supposed to mean?" Maze asked, as she frowned at the pair. "We don't want you here Maze and we sure as hell don't love you." The girls said in unison, which caused Maze to feel a shiver down her spine, before an uneasy feeling rose in her chest. "What— How could you say that?! You are my sisters!" Maze blurted, feeling hurt.
"They're right, you know." Caroline's voice rung, as herself and Alaric suddenly stepped behind Josie and Lizzie, as she held them close, as if they Forbes was scared that Maze would harm them.
"What do you mean?! You're my family!" Mazikeen snapped, feeling outraged and betrayed by her own family. A tear rolled down her cheeks, before she yelled.
After yelling, it seemed that her so called family suddenly vanished from in front of her. "What the hell— Lizzie? Mum?!" Maze called out in panic before she now heard an ominous voice.
"I just showed you what you feared most, being unloved by those you care about and being completely alone."
The siphon witch looked around, completely unsure where the voice was coming from. She couldn't help but to feel frightened.
"Leave me alone!" Maze yelled out, before she turned around and ran into the Salvatore boarding house, hoping to escape whatever it was that had been talking to her.
Mazikeen came to a halt, as she saw a familiar yet very unfamiliar person standing in the living room. He was tall, with dark brown hair and bright blue eyes.
"And who might you be?" He asked, curiously as Maze froze for a moment, "I can ask you the same question." She replied, skeptically.
"Kai? Is someone out there?" A voice asked, before a woman of an average height with long blonde hair approached the stranger that Maze assumed was Kai.
"Oh, you must be here to give us what we want." The woman hummed, as Maze gave her a confused look, "What the hell are you talking about?" She asked, growing more confused and frustrated.
The blonde took a step towards Mazikeen, with a sickly sweet smile before her face morphed into the shape shifting demon's. "I just want one thing... and you know what it is." The demon said to Mazikeen.
"Never in your wildest dreams!" Mazikeen snarled, before the monster lurched itself at the Saltzman girl.

Mazikeen woke up with a gasp, which caught Ari's attention. "Are you okay?" The witch asked, approaching the Saltzman.
Everyone seemed to have woken up at the same time, as Jade rushed to Maze and Ari. "You guys okay?" The Hale asked, as Maze nodded, already frustrated from her dream but now also from being asked the same question so much. "Yeah I'm fine." She decided, as Jade hugged them both.
Maze and Ari hugged back, feeling a bit more at ease. It was just a dream.
"Where's Hope?" Mazikeen then asked, getting to her feet once she broke apart from her best friends.
"She's not here?" Landon asked, holding onto Jesse who was still a bit shaken from his nightmare. "Then where is she?"
"Well... did somebody grab the urn, like MG suggested?" Jade asked. "I did." Ari replied. "Me too." Landon answered. "Yeah I did as well..." Maze trailed off.
"If it worked then... where is Hope?" Maze asked, seeming a bit worried. "What if something happened to her?!"
"She was in my dream... then I don't know, she was gone." Rafael admitted, before a certain blonde faced the werewolf. "What the hell was Hope doing in your dream?" She asked, confusedly.
Seeing Mazikeen's look, Rafael awkwardly responded, "The usual... j..just being a badass."
Suddenly, two figures crashed through the door of the gym. "Ah, speak of the devil." Maze said, as Hope was in full-battle mode with the Oneiroi.
Hope ran after the Oneiroi and attacked it. Mazikeen was about to throw herself into battle and help her roommate, but Alaric beat her to it, as he tossed an arrow to the Mikealson.
Hope snapped the arrow in two, before jamming both pieces into the eyes of the monster.
The monster evaporated into black mist, and almost instantly Hope looked up to Maze, making sure that the Saltzman was okay. The siphon witch had a slight smirk before she said, "Hot as hell.."
