𝐨𝐧𝐞. displaced, lonely and miserable
Mazikeen sat curled up on the makeshift bed, trying to get comfortable. Ever since a certain event, she had been removed from the Salvatore school's dormitory, as she was deemed unsafe.
She still went to classes with other students and such, but she had to be supervised. And so her nights were spent down in the lonely cellar, that was used by the werewolves to transition on the night of a full moon.
She had been alone... that was, until Landon Kirby had been placed in the cell beside her, unconscious.
Maze flipped through her novel, eyeing Landon every now and then, to see if he was still unconscious. Eventually, he woke up with a gasp and sat upright. He felt uneasy by the small space, giving the Saltzman the idea that he was claustrophobic.
"Landon?" Maze asked, recognising him from the morning, when her sisters Lizzie and Josie Saltzman took his foster brother on a tour.
"Oh.. hey you're one of the triplets." Landon noted, as Maze nodded, and placed her book away. "Mazikeen. But most people call me Maze." She hummed. "Or Maze the mad."
Landon frowned, "That's um.. rude." He admitted. Maze shrugged, "I can't imagine they're far from the truth... after all I do sleep in a cell, away from the other students." The Saltzman admitted, fidgeting with her fingers. "I went mad... and I ended up residing down here."
It was Miss Mystic falls. Mazikeen stood on the top of the stairs, next to Jade Hale, her girlfriend. They began to step down the stairs slowly, as each pair were being announced onto the dancefloor.
Hope Mikealson and Ari Mae stood behind Maze and Jade, Ari filled with joy that she was entering Miss Mystic Falls along with her favourite people.
What they didn't know, is Penelope Park and Bianca Harris stood above the event, holding a large bucket, filled with a red liquid.
"Where did you get gallons of Pigs blood?" Penelope asked her girlfriend, who shrugged. "That doesn't really matter, my love. What matters is ruining Mazikeen's life." Bianca replied, before she swooped forward and crashed her lips into Penelope's.
The couple shared a long kiss, before they broke apart, upon hearing Maze getting announced. "Mazikeen Saltzman escorted by Jade Hale."
Penelope and Bianca gripped the bucket, as they shared a look. They absolutely despised Mazikeen Saltzman and they were going to make sure she absolutely knew about it.
Maze walked down the steps, looking to Jade with a bright smile. The Hale looked to Mazikeen lovingly. For them, it seemed like it was the most perfect moment.
That was until Maze stepped off of the last step and suddenly a large amount of red liquid poured onto the witch, staining her dress. Jade jolted in surprise, looking at Mazikeen in shock as she was covered in pigs blood.
Penelope and Bianca could be heard stifling giggles, whilst gasps were heard throughout the room, as all eyes were on Maze.
"Maze, hey, deep breaths." Ari spoke up, hoping to difuse the situation, as she noticed the witch turn red with anger. "Maze.." Hope says softly, before the Saltzman snapped her head back to look at her friends.
Mazikeen's eyes were filled with tears, before her they completely blackened over. Only darkness seemed to fill her, in that moment. Hope and Ari flinched in surprise, before the Saltzman turned around and let out an ear piercing scream.
The entire room shook violently, as students all cowered in fear. "Maze!! Maze!!" Jade called out, though her cries fell on deaf ears, as the Saltzman couldn't hear anything whilst she was filled with rage.
Penelope and Bianca fell from their hiding place, as Maze's head snapped towards them. The two witches got to their feet, as the blonde stormed towards them.
"Oh my god... you're absolutely insane!!" Bianca cried out, keeping Penelope behind her. "Psycho bitch!" The Harris added.
Mazikeen had been tormented by the pair for years but this... ruining the moment she had dreamed about, was the last straw for her. She wanted to destroy them.
"Maze!" Josie cried out, before herself and Lizzie raced towards their sister. The Gemini witches threw their arms around Mazikeen, holding her tightly as they began to siphon from her.
Eventually everything went dark for Mazikeen, as her sisters quick thinking stopped her from being able to harm anyone, as much as they wanted Penelope and Bianca to get what was coming to them.
The two Saltzmans looked up at Penelope and Bianca in disgust, as they held onto their unconscious sister.
"That's horrible.." Landon confessed seeming frustrated, as Maze sighed. "It was. They're terrible but unfortunately that's what made it clear that I'm a danger to everyone." The Saltzman admitted.
"You won't be stuck down here forever." Landon declares. Maze looked up, her eyes meeting Landon's. "You think so?" She asked. Landon nodded, "You don't seem like a bad person... just someone who has lost control, a bit. It sounds like those girls were pushing for you to lose control."
Mazikeen leaned back in her bed, and opened her mouth to say something but doesn't get the chance, as Landon is suddenly flung out of his cell.
"MaaazeeEEEEeeeEeEEE." He screamed, as Mazikeen got to her feet. "Landon?!"

Landon was thrown against a tree, with Mazikeen rushing after him. She bit her lip, trying to stifle a giggle as Landon dizzily got to his feet.
"You alright? They helped me get you out! Jade is a werewolf like me! And Josie and Ari are witches." Rafael Waithe chirped, hugging Landon. Maze's eyes dart over to Josie, Ari and Jade.
Ari gave Maze a warm smile as she waved. Maze waved back, before she realised she hadn't met Rafael. "Hey, I'm Maze." She smiled, as Rafael smiled back and shook her hand. "Hey I'm Raf!"
Rafael and Landon then walked off together, leaving Maze with the trio.
"Hey sis." Josie smiled, as Maze joined them. "Hey Jo." Mazikeen replied, feeling a bit out of place. "How are you?" Ari asked, giving her friend a genuine smile. "I'm good." Maze replied, not really wanting to be at the party.
Maze used to love parties, but now that she was seen as a ticking timebomb, people were intimidated by her and she felt awkward in the presence of so many other students.
"I need some space, there's too many people here— Actually I really just don't want to be here." Maze decided, coming clean about how she really felt, before she turned on her heels and rushed away. "Maze, wait!" Jade called out, as Ari had stepped forward to go after her.
The two girls felt their faces fall. "Maze hasn't been happy in a long time." Ari stated, before looking to Josie. The Salvatore school was her home, and others had made it now feel like she couldn't belong here.
Suddenly, Jesse Hale approached Jade, Ari and Josie, the boy picking up on their worried expressions. Jade looked to her adoptive brother, before she waved to him. Jesse waved back before he signed to ask "What's wrong?"
Jade explained using hand signs that they were worried about Mazikeen. Ever since the incident and being relocated to underneath the school, she hadn't really been herself. The Hale boy frowned before he communicated back, "You should do something."
Jade sighed, "I'm her ex girlfriend, Jesse. She doesn't want my help. I've tried to offer it." She said, making sure she spoke clearly, pronouncing every syllable, though she did hand signs incase the boy had struggled to read her lips.
Jesse nodded, "I think she needs a friend." He signed back. "I know. She doesn't want to be my friend. But I'll be there for her, if she lets me."
The conversation ended there, as Jesse nodded before the witch looked to Ari and Josie. The two girls smiled at Jesse before Ari signed to the boy, "Hey! Do you want a drink?" Jesse nodded eagerly, before Ari went off to get drinks for their group, as he followed along.
Jade and Josie shared a glance. "I think we need to talk to our parents. They can't keep locking Maze away from everybody." Jade insisted, as Josie nodded, agreeing.

Molly and Alaric glanced at Josie and Jade, who stood tall. "We think Maze should be allowed to live in the school, again." Jade stated, crossing her arms.
Molly glanced at Alaric, wondering what he was going to say to this. "Absolutely not." The older Saltzman instantly answered.
"Really Dad?" Josie asked, with a frown. "She hasn't been herself since she'd had to stay in that lonely cellar." She admitted. "But all of the students have been much safer." Alaric replied.
"This is so unfair!" Jade spat. "I can't sit and watch my best friend become miserable." She insisted.
Josie seemed surprised by Jade's words. She and Maze had once been best friends, but then they dated. When Mazikeen was deemed a threat and sent to live in the werewolf cellars, she broke up with Jade because she didn't want to hurt her too. Ever since then, it had been awkward... Maze kept pushing Jade away.
But that hadn't changed the fact that Jade saw Mazikeen as her best friend, even if Maze had stopped talking to her like a friend would.
"They have a point." Molly admitted, as Alaric frowned at her. "She's been isolated from the dormitory room for months, maybe all she needs is some friends to room with." She suggested.
"Ari and I would be happy to share our room with Maze." Jade confessed.
Alaric then stopped and thought about it for a moment. "What if Maze shares a room with Hope.." He said, aloud. Molly looked to Alaric, surprised by this suggestion, but it made sense.
Hope Mikealson was the most powerful species in the school, and she too needed a friend. In Alaric's eyes, if anyone was going to be able to stop any of Mazikeen's magical outbursts, it'd probably be Hope.
"I'll talk to Hope." Alaric said, looking up at Jade and Josie. "Maze might be moving back into the dormitory." He decided, as Josie and Jade shared a look of excitement.
