𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐲-𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. i can't be the one to stop you

After a phone call with Hope, Lizzie watched as Mazikeen used her magic to throw Aurora into the strange contraption that she'd shown the trio only minutes earlier.

Lizzie reached out and took Mazikeen's hand momentarily so she could siphon from her sister, before she telekinetically flipped open a small door to see Aurora's face... well, technically Hope's face.

"Hi Rory." Mazikeen put on a fake smile, as she gave the woman a wave.

"You treacherous—"

"Silencio." Maze then called out, as Aurora's mouth suddenly disappeared, causing her protests to become muffled.

"Holy shit, that's so creepy!" Azazel confessed, looking at Hope's body with no mouth. "I think it's more peaceful, honestly." Mazikeen spoke nonchalantly.

"Look, we both know how the Mikaelsons can be monsters." Lizzie spoke up, catching Aurora's attention. "But your beef isn't with Hope. And taking your trauma out on Klaus's daughter won't actually fix any of the hurt or heartache that he and his family put you through. All you're doing is prolonging your pain. Frankly, sister, I don't want my future to look like yours. So I am gonna finish what I came here to do, my way."

With that, Lizzie used her magic to close the small door over Aurora's face.

"Okay, Lizzie, step one complete." Lizzie spoke to herself, as she paced around. "What's step two?" Azazel quickly asked, as the blonde turned to her cousin.

"We need to think of a trap to set up before Hope—" Lizzie began, but was cut off as somebody else entered the bunker.

"Too late." Aurora's voice rung, as the trio turned to see a redheaded woman standing there, Hope trapped in her body.

Hope glanced around, before her eyes landed on Mazikeen for a moment. She took in the girls new appearance, as it was quite edgy and dark.

"You brought my ex girlfriend into this... how great." Hope spoke sarcastically, looking to Lizzie.

"That accent doesn't suit you at all." Maze piped up, catching Hope's attention again. "Almost like that outfit doesn't suit you... sure, it looks sexy but black really isn't your colour." The Mikealson spoke, though it was evident that despite the emotionless persona Hope had, she had some bitter feelings towards Mazikeen.

"Oh really? I beg to differ." Maze hummed, as a darkness filled her veins, worse than Hope had ever seen. The heretic's eyes blackened over, as she gave the tribrid a slight smirk.

"Wow... you've embraced all that darkness. I guess you really are your father's daughter." Hope spoke, her eyes on Mazikeen. "Hope!" Azazel blurted in disgust and anger.

"Don't— she's trying to get under your skin. Maze, go cool off. Azzie, go with her." Lizzie insisted, as the Parker twins looked at her with surprise before Mazikeen rolled her eyes and vampire sped out of the basement.

Azazel took one last look at Lizzie, not understanding why she wanted to be alone with the tribrid. As Lizzie's expression towards the boy turned sad and guilty, Azzie instantly gathered that Lizzie didn't want Mazikeen to see Hope's body once she had killed her. He have his cousin a nod, before he went after his twin.

Meanwhile outside, Mazikeen let out a grumble of frustration as dark magic rushed to her fingertips. Trying to relax the chaos she felt inside, the heretic listened in on what was happening in the basement. After a few moments, she turned to Azazel who looked to her curiously.

"Lizzie's not gonna do it." Maze spoke, before she vampire sped to the bunker. "Maze— no!" Azzie called out, as he rushed to the bunker to realise that she'd used a spell to keep him out. "Really?" He sighed.

Mazikeen rushed into the basement, and froze on the spot as she watched Hope snap Lizzie's neck right in front of her. The tribrid then looked up, making eye contact with her ex girlfriend as the Saltzman's lifeless body fell to the floor.

The brunette, who had been completely stoic moments earlier, cried out in pain as her humanity flickered upon seeing her sister die. "Lizzie!"

Hope's lips twitched up into a smirk, as the Parker rushed over to the blonde's body. "Lizzie, no no no please— Elizabeth!!" Mazikeen cried out, shaking the girl to no avail.

She could hear no heartbeat.

Lizzie was dead.

"No... my baby sister..." Maze choked out, as as she cradled the siphon witch in her arms. Tears rushed down her cheeks, falling onto Lizzie's face. The Parker then broke into a sob, as she held the Saltzman close to her.

Hope watched in amazement at how easy it had been to mess with Mazikeen's humanity... she always known deep down that Lizzie had been her anchor.

"How does that feel, Mazey?" Hope asked, in a wicked voice. Mazikeen sat up, tears still running down her face before she slightly turned to the tribrid.

"How do you think? You just killed my sister!" Maze seethed, as Hope kept an amused expression on her lips. "I could pinpoint the moment your stoic exterior faded and your heart broke." She said, as Mazikeen had her forehead pressed sadly against Lizzie's before she lightly let the girl down.

Getting to her feet, the heretic turned around. Wordlessly, she looked at Hope, not even knowing what to say.

"Now you know what it feels like to have your heart broken." Hope hummed, "A lot like how you broke my heart when you left me." She added as Mazikeen was taken by this.

"I... I just wanted to have the chance to be apart of a loving family." Mazikeen insisted, though it had been nothing how she had expected. While she now had a loving mother, she learnt very quickly that her father only wanted a heir to lead the Gemini coven.

Hope scoffed at this, and when to turn around but Maze lurched forward and grabbed her wrist to spin her back around. Hope looked surprised by this, as she was facing Mazikeen now.

"You don't think that hurt me too? Leaving you fucking broke me, Hope." Maze insisted, as she wiped away tears with her free hand.

The Parker looked back at Hope as her voice broke with sadness, "I love you, Hope. But now it's too late... because you're so far fucking gone and there's no coming back from this!" She snapped, as tears fell yet again.

Hope continued to look at Mazikeen with a stoic expression, as the Parker broke eye contact and rushed back to Lizzie's side.

The Mikealson stepped away, needing some air, though she'd return to the bunker as soon as she could to do a body swap.

As Mazikeen's words echoed in Hope's mind, tears pricked her eyes as her humanity began to flicker. As she went outside, she thought back to when herself and Mazikeen first officially began dating.

"Hope... I um... I can't stop thinking about you." Maze reluctantly said, before she turned back to Hope, with a nervous expression.

Hope had a small smile on her face, "I... can't stop thinking about you either." She admitted, feeling a weight life off of her shoulders as she was finally telling Mazikeen the truth. "I like you, Maze. I really like you."

Mazikeen couldn't contain the smile on her face, as she found herself edging closer to the Mikealson, as much as it scared her. Hope couldn't wait any longer, and gently cradled Mazikeen's face in her hands, before she pressed her lips against the siphon's.

Maze melted into the kiss, before her arms found their way down to Hope's waist, pulling her closer. Noticing this, Hope broke apart for a moment, smiling largely, before they kissed again.

Mazikeen pulled her lips away, though she kept her forehead pressed gently against Hope's. She couldn't believe this was happening right now.

"Do you um.. want to be my girlfriend?" Hope asked, removing her hands from Maze's face. Mazikeen felt butterflies fill her stomach, hearing this question.

"What kind of a silly question is that? Of course I do." Maze grinned, as Hope smiled back at the blonde with a loving look.

"Hope? What's going on down there?" Azazel demanded, as Hope exited the basement. "I killed  your cousin and broke your sisters heart." The Mikealson responded nonchalantly as she passed the boy.

Azazel's eyes widened, before he raced to the doorway to try and reenter the basement, only to be met with the fate he had earlier. "Maze!!" He called out, wanting to be by her side.

Meanwhile Mazikeen sobbed over Lizzie's body, as she could feel the dark thoughts clouding her mind.

Turn it back off.

Push all of this heartbreak away.

Letting the last of her tears fall, darkness took over the girl yet again, and her humanity disappeared though now that her anchor was dead... there was likely no coming back from this.

One thing was for certain now...

Mazikeen was going to kill Hope, herself.
