Chapter two

I walk up to the stone ranch, it was nice and big but, that doesn't matter to me. All that matters to me is that I don't live in Tennessee anymore, I don't have my gang anymore, I don't have my boyfriend anymore and, I don't have any friends here. I walk through the yard straight into the back yard, I have quite a bit of horses I have five girl horses, one is white with a brown circle around her left eye, her tail is brown along with her mane, another one is plain white, another one is,a pure black one, I have one that is tan with a light brown mane alone with a light brown tail, and then lastly this one is my favorite, she is white with black blotches covering her body, a black mane along with a black tail. I look over to see two more ponies, they are so cute. I love baby horses, and I haven't had one since cow, she is my favorite. The one baby is, a light tan with white blotches covering her body, that match the main and tail. The other one is, almost pure black but, has a white snout, her mane and tail match her body with a deep black. I can tell they're minis because the way their legs are shorter but, their bodies are wider. "Hey cuties.Do ya'll have a name? I don't think so, I think I'll name you midnight," say pointing to the black one. "And I think I'll name you Bells. We're going to have fun together now aren't we. Do we have blankets for you two?"

"I see you found the horses already," my mom states.

"Yea, I love 'em," I smile petting their snouts.

"Well, we need some stuff for them, want to come out and buy stuff for them with me? They came with the place."

"Yea, I'll go, to the store or a coral?"

"Store."

"Which store?"

"DX, but just for information. Please, don't act all tough scaring the people away. Show them the girl that I love, that your dad loved."

"Whatever mom."

"Thank you baby girl."

I look at her and smile, "you haven't called me that in forever."

"I have seen my baby girl in forever. I've missed her."

"I think I have too."

"So is she staying?"

"Yea, I think so mom."

"I knew those boys were trouble."

"Mom, stop. I was one of those boys at one point."

"I know but, you're my baby girl again now."

"I love you mom."

"I missed hearing that and we're here." I scan the place and I see five boys around my age standing there. I'm fifteen so, they look around that age. Two of them have DX shirts on the rest are dressed in usual dingy looking attire. Am I wearing something to fancy? I'm wearing a pink dress with a belt on it, a green beanie that cover the top of my long blonde hair, a white sweater to keep my arms warm, my golden locket that has a picture of my dad and I, then brown shoes that pull the outfit all together. I walked over to the boys, "hey ya'll, I'm uh Kylie."

"Dallas, Dallas Winston," the tuff looking one smiled.

"Sodapop, Sodapop Curtis," the hot one wearing the DX shirt followed Dallas' lead also sending me a smile.

"Steve Randall," the one with a bird tattoo also wearing a DX shirt said so nonchalantly not even looking at me.

"Johnny," the dark skinned boy with the puppy dog eyes informs me in such a hush tone I barely heard him.

"Ponyboy, Ponyboy Curtis," the one guy that looks like he's twelve or thirteen informed me following Dallas' and Sodapop's lead by sending me a killer smile. I like Sodapop's smile the best.

"I'm new 'round here," I smiled my southern accent laced into my words, as my deep hazel eyes connected with Sodapop's golden brown ones.

"Where you from?" Dallas asks.

"Tennessee," I wink.

"So, that where you get that southern accent from," Sodapop releases.

"Kylie! Kylie it's time to go!" My mom shouts out to me.

"Bye boys," I replied as I turn on my one heal working off.

"Uh bye, Kylie," Soda mumbles. I turned around on my toes this time, sending a wink his way, causing him to blush mad.

"Call me Ky, 'kay mom?" I said as I walked over to her.

"Wow, I never thought I'd hear you say that again," she smiled.

"Neither did I but, I guess Tulsa reminds me of my dad."

"That's good, he would want you to be happy."

"I know mom, know when do I start school?"

"Tomorrow."

"Kay, well I'm gonna go ride, Nightmare."

"Have fun."

"Kay." I know ya'll are probably wondering why I called her nightmare.

***FLASHBACK***

"Ky, please come out of your room, I'm worried about you. You don't just give up because somebody died," my mom pleaded at my door once again.

"I told you don't call me Ky, my name is Kylie!" I shouted at her, through my tears that were rolling down my red cheeks. I've been crying for the past week. Ever since, my dad died, I haven't came out of my room.

"What if I buy you a horse, would you come out then?" My mom asked bribing me. Hmm, this might work.

"What kind?" I ask her slightly interested.

"Any kind you want."

"Can we go to a coral and not order it online?"

"Whatever you want baby, just come out of your room and stay out. I need you here without dad."

"DON'T SAY HIS NAME!" I shouted and the tears started to form in my cheeks pounding down my cheeks.

"Fine, I won't baby, I just need you. We can buy a new horse. Let's go baby girl. I need ya so much."

I walked out of my room running into my mom's arms sobbing into her chest, "mommy! I miss him so much."

"Oh, baby, I know, I'm sorry. Baby, I'm so sorry, you had to see him die. I love you so much baby girl," I heard my mom voice breaking at the end which told me she was ready to break down crying any second.

I pull away and go off to the coral. All the horses are white and running around together. They all seem so happy but, I don't want those horses, I don't want a happy horse, I'm to sad for that. I scan the coral until my eyes meet a black horse, it's alone in the barn laying down. It looks about one year old, I walk over to and pet it's snout slightly. It gets up and lays on my lap, "mommy, I want this one!"

"Okay, baby girl, what's her name?" My mom asked.

"Nightmare," I smiled.
