Chapter 8: Mood Changes

Izzy's P.O.V.

I felt a weird, harsh wetness spread all over my face.

When I forced my eyes open, the light coming in from the closest window burned my eyes. As soon as I looked away as quickly as possible I came face to face with Ripley. She started to slap her tongue all over my neck, and I fucking hated it when she did that, so I used all of my energy to push her away. She whimpered a little bit but I just ignored it. I had to try to get up without dying or falling over to try and close those fucking curtains, but as I put my hand on the ground for support to boost my frame up, I had planted it right onto my needle, and the fucking thing had nearly gone right through my hand. Of course, I screamed out in pain, and as I held up my hand I nearly passed out right there staring at the needle that was right into my hand.

Just as I built up enough courage to start to gently pull the thing out, the doorbell rang and Ripley went bounding towards the front door.

"I'll be there in a second!!!" I screamed as I pulled the needle out, which I nearly fucking died from it was so fucking painful.

I moved my heavy feet as fast as I could with a shirt around my hand soaking up the small amount of blood and I reached for the door handle with my free hand, revealing Janet; the girl that walks my dog. I had completely forgotten about her appointment with Ripley today. Fuck. And I had my meeting with Melanie today as well...

I must have been standing there with my mouth slightly open, staring right at Janet while all the thoughts had been running through my head because when I zoned back in she looked a little freaked out. I didn't blame her; I probably looked like shit since I hadn't been outside for nearly 24 hours and I had a bloody shirt wrapped around my hand. Ripley was jumping around behind me in the messy hallway since she was pretty excited to have walkies with her second favourite person.

"I can come back another time if you like?" she said while nervously fiddling with her dog lead.

"No!" I said with a little too much enthusiasm. "No, please take her out. She needs to get rid of her energy." I said more calmly.

I moved to make way for Ripley to come bounding out the door and as she did, she immediately sat down at Janet's feet and waited patiently for her to put her lead on. Unbelievable.

"Pfft, she doesn't do that for me." I scoffed.

Janet laughed flirtatiously and I said as quickly as possible before she'd make any more small talk that I'd see her later, and closed the door on them.

Melanie's P.O.V.

It was 5 minutes to 1 pm and I thought I'd just take my time to meet Izzy at the coffee shop. Why be early for him?

I couldn't sleep very well the night before since all I could think about was stupid Izzy Stradlin. I think I was developing a little, little, itty-bitty... crush...

The fact that he always looked cool and calm, even when he was high, and those sexy, soft, and floppy shirts he always wore and to top it off, he could pull off wearing a beaded necklace or three without them looking over the top.

I was across the road from the coffee shop and I was killing time in this hippy shop that had silk clothes, rustic furniture, scented candles, and those salt rock things. The shop smelt of thousands of different sweet scents and it was quite sickening after a while. I really had to get out of there. But just as I had busted out of the shop, who did I see walking around the opposite block and going into the coffee shop? Take a guess.

Why was he actually on time?

Although my mission was to make him wait in return, but my dang emotions couldn't contain themselves and what did I do? I ran across the road, of course, dodging cars and ran straight into the coffee shop.

And there he was; sitting at a table waiting for me with his Lennon style sunglasses on, looking sexy as usual. He looked around (probably because he could sense someone staring at him) and saw me, and he took off his sunglasses and half-smiled. I smiled back and tried to walk as smoothly as possible over to him but I just had to trip on a chair leg and I stumbled. I came crashing over to his table but I grabbed the spare chair just in time before I face planted, and I plonked myself down on the chair, with a face like a beetroot.

Izzy was looking at me half amazed. "Are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah, of course," I said as smoothly, trying to sound like it was nothing.

He raised his eyebrows and brushed it off, and then the awkwardness rose in the air.

Struggling to find words, I suddenly blurted, "So, you're actually on time today. Any particular reason?"

"Well, I promised I'd make it up to you yesterday, didn't I?"

Holy shit. He remembered! And oh god, I couldn't handle his direct gaze. Just looking into his dark eyes made me melt like cheese.

Without warning, he reached over the table and placed his hand on mine.

"I want to really make it up to you, Melanie."

Well, this was coming out of nowhere.

I just laughed nervously as he held my gaze, but he didn't break a smile.

"I'm serious Melanie. You have no idea how much of a shithead I was yesterday... and... god, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really like you and I want to get to know you."

Hey guys...

Sorry I've been slack with my updating. To be honest, I have been writing... If you call writing staring at the black word document... and sorry if it's a bit short.

So tell me what you think, and what do ya think about Izzy ;)
