Chapter 23. Done
I hadn't thought this through. Not mention the aftermath I had to endure. Sides was waiting outside, he came after me as soon as he figured I left without him. The only reason I know is because of the powerful engine I heard approaching. Nate had straddled me, stopped his actions as soon as he heard the loud rumbling noise outside. We hadn't even gotten to the good part yet. We both knew Sides used his internal scanners and was listening to every noise we made. Nate reached for his phone, still I'm a straddling position and send me a message.
> Send him away!
It was a demand. I slid off the bed as soon as moved away. 'He won't go,' I murmured, meeting his gaze. 'Well, guess we have an audience then.' He pushed me back down. Nate stopped removing my bra as a car outside started honking it's horn and flashing the headlights. Probably waking up the entire neighborhood. I pushed Nate aside and grabbed my shirt before heading downstairs. Sideswipe stopped as soon as I stood in the curb; arms crossed to show my annoyance. 'Asshole!'
'Next time, I won't responding on you.' His engine rumbled. 'You did absolutely nothing with what I told you.'
I tapped on the ground. 'No. You're too late.' I turned around. Sideswipe's holoform fizzled in. 'Katie.' He grabbed my arm and yanked me back. 'Give me a change.'
'No, Sideswipe! I'm dating someone. Stay out of it.' I turned on my heels. 'Please... burning Primus, Katie! I can't see you do this. This is torture. Pure torture.' A dark blush crept up on my face. 'Sideswipe, go back home.' He ground his teeth. 'I won't...'
'Then stop complaining.'
I turned on my heels and slammed the door shut. Nate was standing in the living room. 'Maybe you should go.' I bit on my lip. 'Right, well... maybe tomorrow?' He shook his head. 'No, you don't have to come back anymore.' My chest tightened. 'But—' he cut me off. 'He likes you a lot... the chemistry you two have...' he shook his head. '... that makes me jealous.' I stepped closer and let him kiss me.
I walked up the silver car. 'Finally. Let's go home.' Sideswipe gestured for me to hop in. 'I want you to call your brother.' He cocked a brow. 'Why? No one is around.'
'Call him!' I shouted. Sideswipe stared at me and surveyed my state. I hated the trembling but I was beyond myself with anger. He reached for his phone and dialed Sunstreaker's number. 'Bro? Hi... uhm, femme wants to say something.' He held out the phone for me. I shook my head. 'Tell him to pick me up.'
Sideswipe blinked. 'What? Katie—' I cut him off. 'FUCKING ASK HIM!' I screamed. Sideswipe staggered and held his phone to his ear again. 'Could you pick her up?' Sideswipe kept staring at me. 'Thanks.' He hung up. 'Katie... what's going on?' I completely ignored him and didn't even look at him until Sunstreaker parked on the curb. His holoform hopped out, leaning against his open door. 'Katie? Look I'm sorry—' I walked up to Sunstreaker. 'We are done, Sideswipe! I don't ever want to see you again! I'm going to talk to Prime first thing in the morning.' I opened Sunstreaker's door.
'Katie! Stop! Bro—' I hopped in and shut the door. Sunstreaker followed ten seconds later and drove off. Sunny said nothing as he drove me back home. Which was nice. I stared out of the window, not bothered the waterfall of tears running down my face. I jumped a little as I felt Sunstreaker reach for my hand. He held it, without looking away from the road. 'Can you stay?'
'Sure.'
He parked in the garage where Sideswipe always used to park and hopped out. Besides being overwhelmed with emotions, exhaustion crept up on me as well and I couldn't stop crying. I could barely even explain what happened, what Sideswipe had said and how Nate broke up. I end up falling asleep on Sunstreaker's lap.
Waking up, I was still on top of him, but he had shifted slightly. We were huddled into each other on the couch. The sun trickled through the curtains. I probably had to get up, make myself ready for school, but I had zero motivation. Instead, I stayed in Sunstreaker's warm embrace and closed my eyes; listening to the slow and steady beat of his spark below. At least it was smoothing.
Sunstreaker woke up thirty minutes later; stirring a little. 'Primus, my back.' I chuckled and moved away so he could sit up. 'I hate this couch. Why didn't we go to your bedroom instead?' He scolded, slowly getting up and headed for the coffee machine. I watched him. 'Better, fleshie?' I uttered a low grunt and slid off the couch. 'So, if I heard it well last night, my brother is crushing on you, horny and caused Nate to break up with you?'
'I suppose.'
I took place on the barstool,— surveying Sunstreaker's every movement. 'Well, it's upsetting... but...' he paused as he reached for a mug. '... maybe you should give him a change.' I bristled. 'Of course you're on his side!' Sunstreaker pressed on the button and watched the coffee pour in the mug. 'Honestly, I'm not picking any sides. I'm pretty much aware of how troublesome my brother can be. He's good at pissing people of, but he does truly care.' I snorted at his statement. 'If he did, he wouldn't have ruined it for me! I warned him.'
'It's too early for this argument.' He rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck. 'Your couch sucks. Can't you buy a new one?' The couch had was a little bit outdated but I never considered it as a bad couch. The boys are just too muscular and tall for it. 'I would even pay for it.' I couldn't help but chuckle. 'I have a quest room, you know... with a double bed and a proper mattress.'
'Tempting.'
He grabbed the mug and swaged. 'You want to be roommates with a psychopath?' I shrugged and tapped on the counter with my painted red finger nails. The only good looking thing on me right now. 'You'd want to be roommates with a nerd and train wreck.' His mouth kicked up at one corner. 'Sure, why not.'
