Chapter 20. Embarrassment

'You're a very interesting case, you know that?'

I let out a scream and almost dropped my towel. 'What the hell are you still doing here!' I hissed. 'Isn't it obvious? Are you trying to play dumb. My brother doesn't want to Frag any girl, he wants to take your virginity.' A dark blush crept up on my face. 'He wants to explore every inch of your perfect body. Obviously Sides is my brother but I've heard he's really good. If one make isn't enough I can always join—' Sideswipe ran upstairs. 'What are you doing, Sunny? She's naked, give her some privacy.' He pushed his brother towards the stairs. 'I was just about to share your fantasies with her—' Sideswipe almost pushed his brother for the stairs.

'I'm so sorry! Don't listen to him, whatever he said, it's not true.' I eyed him while eyes wandered over my body that was only covered with a short towel. 'Right... but you're acting really strange and Uhm... your region in the south also proves that something is going on... so whether is has something to do with me or you're just sexually tensed... fix it.' He looked down before turning around. 'Katie—' I slammed the door to my room shut.

Coming downstairs, Sideswipe instantly got off the couch while Sunstreaker was only smirking. 'I'm so sorry... you're right, I'm tense but it has nothing to do with you! I swear.' Sunstreaker started laughing. 'It has everything to do with her!' Sideswipe shook his head. 'No! It's not,' he snapped.
'Yes, it is!' I raised my hands. 'It doesn't matter, okay?' I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a mug to make some tea. 'Can you shut up, Sunstreaker!' He snapped. 'Katie, don't listen to my brother. I'm fully supporting you, I'm just worried.' I cocked a brow. 'Please, can you forgive me for what just happened.'

'What just happened didn't bother me, Sideswipe. Why does it bother you so much. It's not the first time I've seen you tensed. You think that I don't know how a male works down there? Come on.' I pushed him aside. Sunstreaker snickered. 'Don't you have something better to do then bullying your brother?' He shot me a glare. 'I need to go to school.'

'Katie, can we talk when you get back?'

'I'm hanging out with Nathan, so...' I trailed off. 'At his place?' I didn't answer that. 'Katie, come on... I said I'm sorry, I just need you to be honest with me.' Sunstreaker laughed and got up. 'This is so pathetic, brother. You're whining like a puppy to get her attention, but she clearly has plans with another male. I'm heading back to base.' He patted his brother's shoulder and left.

Sideswipe sucked in a breath. 'I don't wanna lose you, Katie. I'm scared to loose you.' I crossed my arms. 'Then stop being a jerk to me and start supporting me in this for once,' I snapped. Sideswipe nodded, 'yeah, sure.' He turned away. There wasn't much sincerely in his voice. 'Is Sunstreaker right? Do you like me in a different way?' He snorted. 'You mean if I love you? Obviously not. You're not even Cybertronian. Wouldn't work out anyway if Sunstreaker was right. You know I don't stick to one femme for too long anyway,' he muttered and turned away.

'But you act like it.'

He shot me a glare. 'You're a nerd, I would never fall for that,' he sneered before marching into the garage and slamming the door shut behind him. I slowly sat down at the table, staring at the wood. He's so complicated. Always has been, but I adore him anyway. I can't imagine a life without him anymore.

I made myself ready and walked into the garage; running my hand over his roof. 'Come on, Sideswipe. You know how much I adore you. I would never get rid of you.' I kissed the smooth metal and felt him warm up. 'I need my buddy.' I nudged him. 'For what?' He muttered while his engine rumbled in annoyance. 'You're my best friend. My person, remember?' He center and opened his door for me. 'Hop in.'

His holoform fizzled in beside me as I sat down and closed his door. 'You're the most complicated person the in the universe, you know that?' He snorted while his engine roared to life. 'I know.' We left my home and drove towards my campus. He said nothing, obviously still offended or mad. I don't know what is going through his head. As he parked on the large parking lot I turned towards him,— pressing my forehead against his. 'Don't be mad, please.'

'Fine.' I kissed his forehead before I unbuckled. 'See you around, Sideswipe.' I slid out of the car and closed his door gently. Sideswipe drove off while I made my way over to the entrance of the building. Nathan was waiting for me in the lobby. 'Almost thought you wouldn't come anymore,' he said, pecking my lips. 'Sideswipe dropped you off?'

'Yeah, he did.' I didn't want to discuss Sideswipe with Nathan anymore. I looked outside and saw a black car pulling up. An unsettling feeling spread through my stomach. Something that made the hairs in my neck stand up straight. 'Katie?' Nathan nudged me and frowned. 'Are you okay?' I forced a smile on my face and nodded. 'Uh, y-yeah... I just realized something... something I still need to do.'

I looked outside again, the SUV was gone. We made our way to the first floor where our day started. My thoughts however weren't here, I kept thinking about the black SUV from this morning. There are many SUV, it doesn't necessarily have to be a Dread. I tapped with my pen on my notebook and looked outside again. The same car pulled up on the side of the road.

After school, Nathan and I were about to leave. We would hang out, but I rather wanted to be around Sideswipe instead. 'Can we hang out tomorrow?' Nathan frowned. 'Why?'
'I uh... there's something I need to do.' He sighed. 'Please?' He shook his head. 'Is this because of Sideswipe?' I shook my head. 'No, it has nothing to do with Sideswipe.'he sucked in a breath again. 'Fine, see you tomorrow.' He pecked my lips and left. I sat down on a bench and grabbed my phone.

'Hey, Sideswipe? Can you pick me up?'
'I thought you would be with Nathan today.'
'Change of plans... please?'
'... sure, I'll be there in fifteen minutes.'
'Thank you.'

I exhaled softly, trying to settle down my nerves. Sideswipe pulled up fifteen minutes later, like he said. I quickly walked over to him and hopped in his alt-mode. 'I smell nerves, you're okay?' His holoform fizzled in. 'Uh, y-yeah. Totally.' He raised a brow. 'Doesn't sound like it.' I shook my head. 'I saw a bock SUV.' He laid his hand on my arm. 'Not all SUV are Decepticons.'

'I know, but this one... it was different.' He sighed softly. 'Alright, let's go back home.' I nodded slowly. 'I'll ask my brother to drive around this area, okay?' I nodded. 'Thank you. I'm not crazy.' Sideswipe hit the road. 'I know; well check it out.' I was relieved he didn't call me paranoid again. Back home, he made me some tea and we settled in the couch. I leaned into him.

Sunstreaker passed by around the evening. 'Nothing to worry about fleshy. No Decepticons.' He looked at what I was cooking. 'Are you sure? You checked every parking lot?' He nodded. 'Yeah, no black SUV and my scanners didn't pick up an Energon signal either. Relax.' He stole a mushroom and sat down next his brother. 'Why would they want you anyway?'

'She has access to the entire N.E.S.T database and she knows everything. They came for her before.' He ohh'ed and eyed me. 'You've an indirect dangerous job, then.' He flashed me a smirk. Sideswipe punched him. 'Shut up! You're not helping.' The yellow twin raised his hands at peace. 'Just sayin.'
I looked back at the pan. 'Do you stay for dinner?' I asked instead. 'Depends on your cooking skills.' I rolled my eyes. 'You liked the mushroom.' He hummed and grabbed an extra plate from the cabinet.
