Chapter 17. Officially
School only bothered me in the morning so I could do some work at the base around the afternoon. While I was typing and trying to wrap up my work, Sideswipe strode in. He wasn't alone this time. 'I know you two already met...' he trailed off, gesturing at his twin brother. 'But, you haven't seen his holoform yet.' Sunstreaker was definitely handsome. Although they weren't quite similar, they still had identical facial features. The main difference was their hair color and eyed. While Sideswipe had dark Brown hair with azure blue eyes, Sunstreaker had dirty blonde hair with cold, icy blue eyes. Almost as if he lost a part of his soul. There's so much more behind this eyes than people probably realized.
Sunstreaker intense stare also made me a little uncomfortable. I turned my head to look at Sideswipe. 'You're still a jackass.' He smirked. 'I know...' he walked up to me and got behind me. 'Sideswipe made you my problem but don't think I'm going to play cab,' he snapped. 'Sunny, we talked about this... be nice.' All we got was a glare. 'Are you always cranky.' Sideswipe covered my mouth. 'She meant... that she's happy to meet you but we should be going.' Sideswipe grabbed his brothers shoulders and pushed him towards the door. He looked over my shoulder and gestured he would see me later.
((Sideswipe's P.O.V))
Sunstreaker was scowling under his breath. I patted his shoulder. 'She's nice, right?' All I got was a glare. 'I don't like fleshies,' he muttered. 'But she's nice.' He rolled his eyes. 'Still a fleshie,' he snapped. I sighed softly. 'You're still not in a great mood. What's the matter with you?'
Sunstreaker paused and gestured at two human males. 'Look at them, Sideswipe!' I followed his gaze. 'What the hell are they!'
'They're my rookies.'
'That? Skinny and bones? How is that able to fight a war? How can they possibly... move at all? Look at that!' I had to admit that they weren't the best two of their group but at least they're trying. 'It's the spirit that counts, Suns. Fine, they're not great, but they're still risking their life and that's something. Besides, Lennox saw something in them, otherwise he wouldn't hire them.' My brother huffed. 'Hey! Skinny and Bones!' The two men turned. 'How did you just call us!?'
'Sunny!' I quickly strolled after him. 'You're skinny and you're bones... Sideswipe, what is for pathetic piece of flesh? Wearing glasses? Can't you see the trigger of your gun if you put them off? And you... what's with the ridiculous haircut. You look like a flowerpot. Are we going back to the 80s? Or is to make the Decepticons laugh?'
I grabbed my brother's shoulder. 'I'm sorry, this is already improvement.' I pulled my brother away and sucked in a breath. 'Sunny, be nice to my students please. I don't want them to hate me.'
We walked to the main hangar. My brother was not impressed with the human males here. He stopped in his tracks while that permanent scowl grew bigger. 'Is that even a human?' He pointed at a soldier a little further away. 'That's uh... Bob.' Sunstreaker marched off the stairs. 'Sunstreaker!' I ran after him and almost fell of the stairs. 'Hey! Dung beetle!'
Bob turned around with a shocked look on his face. 'Dum beetle... such a pleasure to meet you. I want you to punch me.' I shook my head. 'Sunny, knock it off!' I tried to pull him away. 'Fight me! Show me that you're worth something, dum beetle.' Bob backed off. 'Would you do this if I were Megatron? Backing off like a scared little bunny?'
'Sunstreaker! Knock it off!'
I got an angry snarl. Bob hit the pillar. Sunstreaker trapped him and Bob hit him. Sunstreaker didn't move only laughed. 'Sideswipe is your trainer? Let me show you how I will teach scared little bunnies to fight because there's no way I'll be saving a human if they haven't even learned how to fight properly!' Bob tried to get away but Sunstreaker punched him with so much force that he collapsed. He took off his jacket and tossed it aside. 'Sunstreaker! Stop!' I tried to pull him away.
'Fight back! You worthless little scumbag!'
Bob was horrified. 'Sunstreaker!' I came between them and pushed him against the pillar. 'Stop! This is enough. Leave him alone.' Sunstreaker glared daggers at Bob behind me. 'Why attempting to teach them something if they are so fragile! Look at that pathetic piece of flesh.'
'Sunstreaker!'
Prime marched over to us. 'Get it together. What the hell is going on!' Sunstreaker tensed and clenched his jaws together. Prime turned towards the human. 'He just attacked me.' Sunstreaker laughed coldly. 'He's scared. I can smell it! This one will die. He's going to be ripped apart,' Sunny growled. 'I think he's about to try...'
'Stand down, Sunstreaker! That's an order!' It had become completely quiet. No one was talking, just staring. 'I'm sorry, Prime... but the humans don't have the right spirit, strength or technology to help us in this war. They will be a bother. They're not warriors like me.'
'This is enough, Sunstreaker. Apologize.'
I anxiously watched my twin. He looked back at Bob and stepped closer. The poor young man was petrified and shaking like crazy. 'Listen to my words, dum beetle. Quite your work here because I am saving your life right now. You will die because you're scared and doubting yourself, you're not a soldier, you will never become one either. You're going to die and leave everyone you care about behind. Unless that's what you want and that's what this is... a suicide mission.' Sunstreaker's voice was shockingly calm. Bob backed off. 'Listen to my advice and quite working here... your soul doesn't have to be poisoned by death like mine has.'
Sunstreaker bumped his shoulder against his and grabbed his jacket before marching off. 'I'm so sorry... I'm working on it but Sunstreaker had a hard time adjusting.' Bob watched my brother disappear. 'I guess he's right though...' I cocked a brow and watched him walk off. 'What's wrong with Sunstreaker?'
'I don't know, Optimus. He's not really himself. Maybe he just needs to... adjust. You know how he thinks about humans. There's improvement though, I'll make sure this doesn't happen again.'
