Chapter 16. Strange car

'Sideswipe, I was supposed to hang out with Nathan!'

'Please, come.' Sideswipe had been excited all morning. He didn't even came to visit me for lunch. 'I know, it's just— I want to give you a gift. I know I'm not allowed to come so I got you a car you can use.' I frowned. We strode into what was supposed to be an empty hangar. Sides pointed at a yellow Lamborghini. 'Well?' I stared at the car. 'Uh, how—' he cut me off. 'It's from a higher ranked soldier. He said you could use it.' I frowned. 'Why?' He shrugged. 'Because everyone likes you and I want you to be... okay? Have a car so you don't have to take the bus.'

I walked up to the car. 'I'm not driving this car, Sideswipe. I don't drive sports car. You have this fancy car and you expect something hot to step out hut all you get is me.' He softly hit my head. 'Don't say that. You're beautiful. Take the car and I promise to leave you alone.' He raised his hands at peace. 'You out a tracker on this car?' He shook his head. 'I swear, it's totally normal. No tracker, no weird gadgets... just a simple car.'

I looked back at the yellow Lamborghini. 'And you could've have chosen something more... I don't know, normal?' He wrapped his arm around me. 'Nathan didn't want me to come along this time, right? I don't feel great and you don't even want me to come but I refuse to let you go without a car. So, this will be your car.' I looked back at the car.

'Don't scratch the paint job. The owner will murder you for it.' I frowned while he threw me the keys. I studied Sideswipe. 'I don't trust you. I know that look, Swipes. You're up to something. I swear if you ruin this for me—' he cut me off. 'I know, I know... go! Don't let Nathan wait. I'm gonna nap.' He turned around and walked off. He never lets me leave this easy. I sighed and turned back to the car.

There was not even one single finger print on the yellow paint job. Spotless and flawless we're the best words to describe this car. I unlocked the door and hopped out. The car even smelled new. 'God...' I whispered. I never drove a Lamborghini before. Especially not an advanced one like
this one. I started the engine and drove off to meet Nathan at his home.

I was still suspicious. Something was off and I couldn't tell what's it was. I pulled over at a gas station and hopped out. I knew something was off. Sideswipe would never send me on my way alone without a fight. I opened the trunk. 'Sideswipe, I don't trust you.' I muttered. I found a duffel bag and when I opened it, I found chains, knives, flesh hooks and other horrible torture equipment. 'Why the—' I closed the trunk and hopped in the passenger seat.
The dashboard of this car contained black gloves and a huge eight inch long knife. A frown spread over my face. 'Damn it, Sides.' I grabbed it and looked at the initials.

S.S

I laid it back and hopped out. This is not a normal car. S.S could mean Sideswipe, but Sideswipe has a different type of knife. This must be his psychotic twin brother. 'Sideswipe truly is sneaky, huh?'I thought before I hopped in the drivers side and stood in front of the car. I drove to Nathan's house and parked. I didn't want to deal with this now. I hopped out and locked the car behind me. This is not how I wanted to meet Sunstreaker. I hate Sideswipe for doing this.

I walked up to the door. Nathan opened up before I even reached his porch. 'Did that Autobot change into that?'
'Hello to you too,' I scolded and turned around to look at the car. 'Nah, this is not Sideswipe. This is a random car. From a soldier... that Sideswipe told me I could borrow.'
Nathan cocked his brow. 'Don't ask. He's not here, so.' I shrugged and pushed him inside. 'You better not be lying!'
'I'm not, Sideswipe isn't here. He wasn't feeling good anyway, relax.' I closed the door behind me.

The even progressed really smooth. Nothing happened and Sideswipe didn't call me every half hour. Around 11 PM, I left Nathan's place to head back to the base. I hopped back in the car and started the engine. 'So... are you going to introduce yourself or...?' I asked as I drove off. I heard the engine rumble. 'S.S could mean; Sideswipe but that seems unlikely and there's no other Autobot that has two S's. So, you must be Sunstreaker then.'

There was a pause before the radio crackled on. 'You're not stupid, huh? Finally an organic that doesn't make dump remarks,' the voice grumbled. 'Thank you... I guess.' Sunstreaker took over the driving so I just lean back. 'I know Sideswipe pretty well. Your brother is very easy to read.' I heard him huff. 'Why did you agree to wait for hours outside the house?' There was another silence before he spoke up. 'Because my brother asked and since he's your guardian, it makes it my problem too.' I chuckled at his grumpy reply. 'I heard a lot about you. It's a pleasure to finally meet you.' He snorted again. 'Believe me, you wish you didn't.'

'If you're talking about the equipment in the back... yeah, maybe you should work on that.' There was another huff. 'The human male was nervous. I could smell it all the way outside.' I cocked a brow. 'Really?' I looked at his radio. 'Yes, the human male wanted to mate.' A blush crept up on my face. 'You can't tell your brother that. He'll never stop bothering me.'

'Too bad.'

'The stubbornness really runs in the family, huh?' Sunstreaker snorted. The mech wasn't talkative and he sounded tired. 'You arrived today, didn't you?'
'Obviously, I drove all day and night to reunite with Sides. We spend all day together but he wasn't feeling well, so he saddled me up with you.' I bit down on my lip. 'You shouldn't have. I can take care of myself.'
There was another silence. 'Are you sure about that?' I cocked a brow while he rolled into the base. 'Uh, yeah.' He came to a halt.

I unbuckled my seatbelt and hopped out. I thought he would transform, but he didn't. Instead, he drove off.
'So, what do you think?' I turned around. Sideswipe had a smug face. 'You're an asshole!' I slapped his arm. 'Do you really think I wouldn't have noticed?' He shrugged while wrapping his arm around me. 'You should stay here tonight with your twin.'

'No, Sunny is exhausted. He'll be recharging for a good 12 hours. He doesn't want me around anyway. I'll come in the morning after dropping you off at school. I spend all day with him. He's not talkative.' Sideswipe shrugged. 'Why didn't you tell me? And why does he have a duffel bag with chains, meat hook and other horrible stuff in his trunk? He's on earth for not even 24 hours!'

'Believe me, that's an improvement. I'm working on it.' He patted my shoulder and took me to his alt-mode. 'Right, and how are you feeling?' Sideswipe only groaned; rubbing his stomach. 'Not great, Ratchet thinks food poisoning. I tried to sleep it off, but still here.' He hopped in the drivers side. 'How did you end up with food poisoning?' He shrugged. 'I dunno.... just a holoform thing. It'll pass.' He waved his hand and drove off.
