THE DOJOS gathered around, "The time has come. Welcome to our first event. I hope you're all well rested and ready for a new and unique competition."

"We call it the 'Captain's war.'" He introduced. "We told you how important your captains will be. So let's see how well you protect them." Maddie glanced at Sam, who was already staring at her.

"Four dojos will take the mat. Only one will be left standing. If you hit the mat, you're out. If one of your captains hit the mat, your entire team is out. For this round."

"Check the boards to see your group, decided by random draw. Group A, you're up." Everyone's eyes landed on the screen, Maddie rolled her eyes when she saw who she was competing with.

Daniel scoffed. "Cobra kai, of course." Miyagi-Do huddled up to discuss their strategy.

"And let them come to us," Miguel told them. "Protect the egg. Make sure Maddie and Robby are safe."

"Maybe we shouldn't use the 'protect the egg' strategy," Maddie spoke up. "Tory knows about that, she probably even told her teammates. We should strike first."

"No," Sam disagreed. "Defense is going to help us. If we attack first, more people will fall down from our team."

Maddie furrowed her eyebrows. "What–"

"I can be on the front line." Robby blurted out.

"No. You just stay back and stay focused." Miguel ordered.

"Why wouldn't I be focused?"

"You did leave the hotel room last night." Everyone went quiet at Miguel's words.

Johnny and Daniel joined the group. "Listen guys," Daniel began. "I know it hasn't always been pretty lately but no one could ever count us out. You hear me? Do it for each other."

"And wipe the smirks off their ugly faces." Johnny added.

"Ready?" The man spoke on the mic. "Begin!"

Maddie turned her back, seeing Tory charging towards them. "Protect the egg!" Demetri yelled out.

The dojos erupted with violence, everyone attacking the opposite sides. Demetri got knocked down by Kwon, immediately was out.

"Demetri's out!" Miguel yelled, fighting two guys at once. "Robby, stay back!"

Maddie blocked a guy's jab from Cobra Kai, bending down to sweep his feet but he moved away. When she got back up, she shoved away his fast side kick, using it to pull on his leg and send him down on the mat.

The boy huffed when he was eliminated, walking off. Maddie turned around with a relieved smile but only for it to be washed away when a student from another dojo came at her with a front kick.

"Guys, protect Mads, we can't have her go down!" Johnny yelled.

"Sensei, I got my hands full!" Hawk commented.

"I got Tory!" Devon informed but she was struggling against her by her viscous kicks. "Need some help!"

"Forget about him!" Kwon told his teammate, referring to Hawk. "Go for the captain!" The boy followed his words and joined the fight that Maddie was already occupied with.

The blonde was able to knock down a Cobra Kai with a flying tornado kick, kicking him off the challenge. She felt a kick to her ribs, not sending her to the mat but off balance for a second.

Maddie turned around seeing another student from her old dojo wanting to bring her down. "Ais!" Maddie sent the boy a front kick, causing him to block it.

It was back and forth at this point, both of them striking at each other. "Defense, Maddie!" Daniel called out.

"Lee's out! Hawk protect the captains!" But that didn't work. When Hawk tried to go after Yoon, he was knocked off his feet and hit the ground.

Maddie got frustrated with the person she was fighting with, wrapping her arm under his shoulder before pushing him harshly on the mat.

He slapped the mat in anger and walked off. Maddie turned around, seeing Tory already standing there.

Maddie sighed and raised her fists, not wanting to fight her friend. Tory hesitantly got into her fighting stance, giving Maddie a nod.

"You got this, Maddie!"

The Lawrence girl stormed up to Tory with a punch, Tory moving it out of the way and sending a jab towards Maddie.

She blocked it with her forearm. Lifting her leg up to hit her opponent, Tory grabbed onto it to send her down but Maddie was able to flip herself around, not wanting to hit the mat.

She was able to hold herself up, causing Tory to send punches to knock her off balance. Maddie used Miyagi-Do defense to block the shots that were being taken at her.

She was able to get fully back up on her two feet. Maddie grunted with the fast speed that both girls were using against each other. She kicked Tory's shoulder, the Nichol's girl groaned.

"We're still friends right?" Maddie asked, stopping her movements.

Tory grinned. "Depends on how hard you hit me," she answered. Maddie chuckled and the two went back at it again with their ongoing fight.

"Miguel, watch out!" Hawk called from the sidelines.

Miguel was able to send one of his opponents to the mat. He turned to the Keene boy, "Robby, you good?"

"I got him." He glared at Kwon, who was in front of him.

Maddie shoved Tory's arm away from making contact with her head. The other blonde bent down to knock Maddie off her feet but she jumped up, avoiding the fast motion.

Tory swung her leg around Maddie's face, the girl leaning back to not get hit. "Ais!" Maddie yelled out, copying her actions.

Maddie spun her foot around the girl's face level but Tory had already lowered herself to not get slapped.

All of a sudden, the two heard the buzzer blare. "Miyagi-Do captain down."

"Damn it!" Maddie sucked her teeth, making her way off the mat.

"Miyagi-Do is out!"

Robby punched the mat and got up, his eyes sending daggers towards Kwon. Miguel and Sam stomped off the mat with annoyance written all over their face.

Kwon smirked as they walked off. "Too easy, man. Come on."

Maddie turned her head, meeting Kwon's stare. She shook her head and rolled her eyes at his nonsense.

She stood next to her dad, who patted her shoulder. "You did good out there."

"Doesn't matter anyways." She mumbled and continued to watch the match in front of her.

"Falchi Della Notte captain down. They are out. Only Cobra Kai and the Iron Dragons remain alive."

The Iron Dragons stood in a weird formation, Maddie pulled her eyebrows together in confusion.

Everyone watched as when Tory, Kwon and Yoon stormed over to attack, four of the Iron Dragons teammates kneeled.

The three stopped in surprised and the students in front of the captains walked off.

It revealed a short girl and a boy, who was very tall with a serious face. There was a clear height difference.

Tory stood in front of the girl, getting into her fighting stance. Maddie looked at Kwon and Yoon, who tried double teaming on the male captain.

Their strategy failed as Tory and Kwon fell onto the mat with ease. "Both Cobra Kai captains go down. The Iron Dragons win."

The sponsors cheered for them. Zara stepped in front of Tory and looked down at her. "Welcome to Barcelona, bitch."

Maddie glared at the girl in the green karate gi, who blew kisses towards the crowd of people above them.

Tory sat up and turned her head, looking at Robby and Maddie. The siblings shared a glance.

The two captains from the Iron Dragons walked up to their sensei, revealing Sensei Wolf.

Johnny narrowed his eyes at the man.

MIYAGI-DO was failing their matches miserably. Well, except for Maddie and Miguel. They were the only ones getting the most points for their team.

Robby seemed too distracted by Tory.

Demetri got knocked down by a punch in his chest. "Point."

Hawk got sent towards his teammates after being knocked off. "Point."

Devon got swept off her feet, sending her on the mat. "Point."

Sam's opponent was able to hit the Bō on her ribs. "Point."

Robby got kicked in his chest, him falling down on the mat. "Point."

Maddie grew frustrated when the Iron Dragons were destroying Miyagi-Do. It was now her turn to fight against them.

And she wasn't going to fail.

She had her determined mindset on as she stepped onto the mat, spinning the bō around her hand. Maddie watched as her opponent stepped in front of her, recognizing her.

It was the same girl who called Kwon cute when they were at the aquarium. Her black hair was pulled into a ponytail, her eyes narrowed at Maddie.

"It is now Madison Lawrence from Miyagi-Do versus Chloe Collins from the Iron Dragons."

The two girls waited for the horn to be blared, getting into their stance. They heard the sound, causing Maddie to charge at her with the stick.

"Ais!" She connected her bō with Chloe's. Maddie swung her bō from below to knock off Chloe but the opponent managed to block it.

Maddie spun around, swinging her bō to catch Chloe off guard and repeatedly sent jabs towards her. The brunette was stepping back to avoid Maddie's quick strikes, trying her best to block all of them with her bō but felt a sharp pain on her cheek.

Maddie tried to send another hit but Chloe raised her free arm, using defense. Maddie grunted and used Chloe's stance as a way to win.

She hit her open stomach, then her knee and after spun around to land the final point on her back.

Chloe's knees collapsed and she landed on the mat with a thud, groaning.

Maddie yelled and twirled her bō between her hands with a small smirk, showing the sponsors the female captain of Miyagi-Do.

"A fantastic victory by Madison!" The announcer exclaimed. "Who secures a point for Miyagi-Do."

Maddie's eyes traveled to Cobra Kai, seeing Kwon cock his head with an impressed look before clapping for the girl's victory.

His famous grin always on his lips when looking at the Lawrence teen.

Maddie blew a kiss towards his direction with a taunting wave while turning away.

She looked above her, seeing the people clap for her win. "Madison! Madison! Madison!" They cheered. The blonde noticed her dad's smile as she walked back to stand beside him.

What didn't go noticed by Maddie though was one particular girl from the Iron Dragons dojo, glaring at her, feeling slightly threatened.
