[003 her name was sophia]

Lenora walking through the woods, stumbling as she bumps into trees.

"Sorry. sorry. sorry." she says at each bump into a tree, thinking they can understand her.

Her malnourished body was moving through the woods at a slow pace, bumping into trees as well as bushes. Her body covered in thick layers of dirt as she is navigating through the woods.

She went to turn the corner as she hears a twig snap behind her but as she's looking up, she see's someone or something covered head to toe in dirt before they ran up to her.

"Hello?" A soft voice spoke out, like a girl's voice.

"A walker?" Lenora asked as she was hallucinating.

"No?" The girl spoke up as she folded her arms obviously offended.

"I didn't know walkers could talk?" Lenora continued talking.

"I'm not a walker!" The girl said raising her voice as she picked up a twig throwing it at Lenora, watching it bounce off her then off the trees.

"Hey! Mr. tree is sensitive." Lenora said as she picked up the branch walked over to girl as she started hitting the girl with it. "Bad walker! Bad walker!" she repeated as the girl just stood still.

"I'm not a walker!" The girl is now yelling.

Lenora steps back cowering now.

"Hey, I didn't mean to!" she started saying. "I got separated from this group I was with, and my mom is probably looking for me, along with her friends well and some of my friends. Also, I really want to get back so do u think you could help me?" She continued.

"Are walkers usually this chatty?" Lenora asks in curiosity.

"I'm not a walker!" The girl yells as she kicks a rock at a tree once again before storming off.

Lenora watched as the girl and presumed walker dropped her bracelet after it got held off by a tree.

Lenora picked up the bracelet as she slipped it on her wrist it read, Sophia.

The girl ran off in different ways as Lenora tried following her yelling "Come back walker friend!" every time she turned in between the trees.

Lenora is turning the corner when the girl disappears as a faint voice speaks up from above her.

"She went that way." The faint voice rings out from above her.

"No, she went that way." Another faint voice spoke out while Lenora stood spinning in the woods.

She was listening to these overlapping voices as she didn't notice a walker coming right up behind her. The walker is walking towards her as its snapping twigs alerting other walkers.

Lenora stood spinning unaware of the horrors that await her, as she started holding her ears as she kept yelling.

"Stop. Stop!" Ringing through the woods, alerting much more walkers than she expected.

And before she could know it, she felt a hand grab her before she knew it, she was being pulled, but was it a walker or a human? Lenora didn't stick around to find out. She took off running in the woods, breaking branches as well as tripping over rocks. She unknowingly approached a ditch with rocks at the bottom, while hearing twigs snapping behind her. As she took the step her body was being rolled down into the ditch, dirty with some wounds.

Shes laying in the ditch as she looks up, she sees a walker walking towards the ditch before she blacks out.

Before she blacks out fully, she opens her eyes to feel a slight sting in her side to which she reaches her hand down to her side as she feels her whole side is wet. She brings her hand up to her face as she sees her whole hand covered in blood. Her vison is going in and out, not knowing where the walker that was standing there went. As she blacked out again, she soon opened her eyes again to people crowded around her.

One man yelled "It's a kid! Hurry Andrea!"

Then another yelled to the other side of her "Holy shit, did she get bit?"

before Lenora could process what the one man said another one spoke up.

"Just carry her! There's to many walkers!" To which the one man carried her as her body was limp.

Lenora then blacked out fully before she could look at the group of people. All she felt was a man carrying her, like her father would carry her to bed after she fell asleep on the couch.

                                                                                   𓆩⟡𓆪

As Lenora jolts awake, she feels a hand on her shoulder before looking up seeing a man with a buzzcut rubbing her shoulder. She winces as she sits up now facing the man.

"It's okay girl." The man spoke up before brushing a piece of Lenora's hair out of her face.

Lenora scooted away until her back hit the side table next to the bed she was sitting on causing the glass of water to fall onto the floor, breaking the glass.

As she kept eye contact with the man the glass dropping brought back memories thinking this mystery man was gonna get up, yelling at her.

"It's okay, just some spilled water." The man says softly trying not to scare her.

He starts cleaning up the water before more people come barging in the room to which Lenora jolted off the bed cowering into the corner of the room before grabbing a piece of glass the man had in his hands, holding it out towards the group of people staring at her.

"Shane, I told you we shouldn't have put her in the same room as carl!" One woman spoke up as she walked over to the bed opposite to Lenora's before, she began hugging the unconscious boy.

"She wasn't dangerous till this one barged though the door!" Shane started rasing his voice pointing at a brunette man.

"When I hear commotion in the room my kid is staying in, I barge in, we don't even know this girl!" The brunette man spoke up.

"This girl is a survivor she is alive and do I also have to mention that she's just a kid?" Shane spoke up pointing to Lenora, who was still holding out the glass.

Shane looked back at Lenora as he held out his hand, gesturing for Lenora to grab his hand. Lenora watched as the other's had sour expressions on their face, while Shane's was hopeful.

Lenora dropped the glass piece gently before latching onto Shane's hand, squeezing it as hard as she could.

The other's watched as Shane helped Lenora back onto the bed before they turned their attention to the boy who opened his eyes.

"You, me, outside." The one brunette man said to Shane as he sat Lenora down on the bed as she winced. "Now." He continued.

Lenora watched as the two men walked out the door, leaving her with the one boy, his mother as well as everyone else. The only thing she was glad about is that the attention was off her.

"Does anyone know where my knives are?" Lenora spoke up to the one man who was staring at her as she spoke up.

"Oh, they are right here-" He starts by saying before getting interrupted as well as Lenora's smile dropping.

"We will be keeping them." The boy's mother spoke out as she walked towards the man grabbing Lenora's knives from his hands.

"Hey! You can't take my shit!" Lenora yelped out to which the mother just stared at her before shoving the knives into her pockets.

Lenora noticed the women's son was staring at her but as she looked at him, he had looked away.  She sat watching the women with her son as Lenora started thinking of her mother as well as her father, wondering if they are still alive. Not that Lenora would care anyway but she would still want to know, or maybe she would care?

Only lasted two seconds before Shane came crashing through the door, angrily, mostly at that man.  Lenora sat her knees now pressed gently against her chest, so close she could feel her extremely fast heartbeat as the man paced around the room still angry.

"Sit down Shane you're making everyone nervous." The women spoke up while she is sitting in bed with her son, rubbing his hair.

Shane doesn't speak a word but sits down in the chair closest to Lenora as Lenora started unraveling herself.

"Their hiding something I swear!" Shane say's as his voice raising at every word causing Lenora to jump every time his voice raises.

"Shane they're not hidin' anything, knock it off your gonna scare the kid's." The women talked to Shane while she kept soothing the young boy to sleep.

"They are! And I'm gonna prove it, Lori." Shane spoke up now revealing the women's name to Lenora.

Lori let out a scoff as Shane finished his sentence before letting out a chuckle.

Shane looks away from Lori as she lays the boy down on his pillow before getting up as she approaches the door but stands still as she listens in on Shane and Lenora's conversation.

"I believe you." Lenora speaks out faintly while she grabbed Shane's hand before squeezing it tightly.

Shane looks up from his lap to look at Lenora's face as he felt warmth within her presence, squeezing her hand back while letting out a slight smile as she did as well.

Interrupting them as Lori squeaks the door open before closing it behind her as Shane turns off the light, leaving Lenora inside with the boy.

As the door shuts behind them Lenora sits up as she looks out the window into the thick darkness that swallowed up the outside, thinking of running away from these people.

Lenora then sat her legs hanging off the bed as her bare feet reach down to the cold hardwood floor, sending a shiver down her spine as she stepped off the bed, her feet now flat on the floor.

She watches the boy sleeping as she lifts the window, cracking it open, it makes a squeak sound at every inch she creaked it. Before she stepped her one leg out the window, she looked into the thick darkness as she seen a flash of light behind what seemed to be a barn.

She dropped her other leg through the window before creaking the window just an inch open so when she comes back the window will be open. Lenora exploring the premises at night was not her agenda for tonight, but she knew it had to be done.

She knew she had to find a way to survive, a way to find her sister, a way to find her mother as well as her father, a way to prove herself to birdie, a way to prove she can be as strong as squid, a way to prove herself that she could do anything she put her mind to it.

Lenora took a step off the porch as she led herself deeper into the thick darkness before hearing a rustling sound coming from further into the darkness, she inched closer, closer, closer, and closer until she turned the corner of the barn as a flash of light blinded her but revealed a small dirty figure before the figure slipped inside the barn.

Lenora squinted her eyes before rubbing them not knowing if she imagined that before she started booking it back to the lit-up house, creaking the window before planting her feet on the floor one at a time.

Lenora creaked the window louder than usual as she heard a groan come from the boy behind her.

"What are you doing?" The boy spoke up as Lenora dropped the window shut.

She turned around to see the boy sat up, rubbing his eyes from the light shining in outside.

"Just uh checking these window's" she says nervously before knocking on the window. "Yep, seems safe, better get back to bed." she continued as she approached her bed, slipping under the covers.

The boy lets out a chuckle. "Your funny." He spoke up as Lenora opened one eye, peaking over at the boy who was letting out giggle after giggle.

"Thanks." Lenora says coldly as a smile crept up on her to which she hid under the covers.

"My names carl." The boy says now sat up in his bed before taking a sip of water out of the cup that was placed on his nightstand.

"Lenora." She replied as she sat up as well although she didn't drink her water.

"That's a pretty name." Carl says as he places the cup back down on the nightstand before sending Lenora a slight smile.

Lenora then felt shy, talking to another kid around her age. "You're a cute name." She blurted out not knowing what she had said, regretting it as it was leaving her mouth.

Carl let out a giggle as Lenora hid her face in her hands.

Carl saw she was embarrassed about what happened, so he wanted to distract her. "Do you read comics?" He asked trying to change the subject.

"Do I read comics?" Lenora asked to which Carl nodded like it was an actual question. "My whole room used to have comics laying on the floor, across my bed, all over the house. I was basically a comic bookstore at that point." Lenora says as she stretches her arms out imagining she was showing carl her room.

As she's imagining a huge smile crept up on her face as she mentions comic books before they move onto more and more conversations about activities or hobbies they like. Their laughing became too loud as Lori barged into the door begging them to sleep, to which they gave in.

They both went to sleep, thinking of all the new possibilities and adventures their friendship could grant. Lenora thinking of how she wishes this friend stays alive this time.
