~Prologue~

Tommy stared at the sunset before him and Tubbo both sitting in calming silence. The world had become overwhelming for the two teens, both taking in the small break they get from the chaotic world around them. Even so, Tommy couldn't help but speak.

"Tubbo?" His voice was small, cloudy blue eyes staring at the pinks and oranges before them. Tubbo turned towards his friend, a huge smile on his face and the familiar sparkle in his green eyes.

"Yeah?" Tommy smiled, turning towards his best friend.

"No matter what, promise me that it'll always be you and me against the world, yeah?" Tubbo's smile grew wider, a giggle leaving his lips before punching Tommy's shoulder.

"Of course! You and me against the whole world! Nothing can change that." Tommy smiled, a laugh soon leaving his lips too as he looked towards the sky again.

"Yeah, nothing can change that."

"Tubbo?" Tommy's eyes were misty as he started at his best friend, who didn't even look back at him. He stared at the ground, green eyes dark as he frowned. Tommy couldn't help but let his wings fluff up in fear, his blue eyes staring at the other in hope and horror.

Dream came up behind Tommy, his hand settling onto his shoulder with a tight grip. The avian couldn't help but flinch at the contact. Tommy hated it, gulping down a whimper before looking back towards the masked man only to see him staring at him. He looked back to Tubbo, the president now staring at him with a glare.

"Go Tommy." His voice was hostile, nothing like the sweet tone Tommy grew up with. Everyone surrounding them was silent, all watching with shocked expressions unsure what to do.

"Tu-"

"GO TOMMY." The blond flinched at his friend yelling, feeling his eyes turn misty as the reality of the situation fell onto him. He was tugged back, Dream muttering a 'c'mon' before dragging him away from the crowd. Even though he knew Dream was talking, and Ghostbur was now next to them trying to also get his attention, he couldn't help but feel betrayed.

Had Tubbo really just exiled Tommy? He couldn't believe this, it was supposed to be him and Tubbo against the world. They had sworn to always be there for one another, to watch one another's backs. Tommy couldn't help but drown his surroundings out, and even as he climbed into the boat Dream was forcing him into he couldn't help but ignore everything else. He had been exiled, again.

Two Weeks Later. . .

"Dream please! I'm sorry!" Tommy whimpered out, curling into a ball as Dream grabbed his hair to pull his bloodied face to look at his mask. The usual porcelain white was now smeared red from Tommy's fighting during the beating, and even though he couldn't see the man's face he knew he was angry.

"Why don't you ever listen?!" Useless sobs left Tommy's throat, globs of tears falling down his reddened and bruised cheeks. Even though he knew no one would save him he couldn't help but hold hope that someone would hear his broken state and rescue him from this nightmare. Dream didn't care about his crying though, if anything it angered him. His grip on Tommy's hair grew tighter, the man slamming his head down into the grassy ground hard before letting go. "It's not that hard Tommy! If you followed my rules this wouldn't be happening!" This wasn't the first time Dream did this, and Tommy was sure this wouldn't be the last.

"I'm sorry! I won't do it again I swear!" He cried out, his brown wings wrapping around him as if it was a protective shield. It was better to just listen to Dream than letting the torture continue, even if it was something Tommy didn't agree with.

Four Days later. . .

Tommy couldn't help but glance at the portal with a hopeful look as he bandaged up his wounds, he was hoping that someone would come to see him. He was lonely, more lonely than he had been during his first exile... His head shot up when he heard the worp of the portal, only to look away when he saw Dream. The green hoodied man laughed, walking closer to Tommy. "What disappointed to see me?" Tommy sighed, looking up towards the man that now stood over him.

"I was just hoping to see someone else today..." Tommy said, finally standing after he dressed all his wounds. Dream didn't say anything at first, Tommy grabbed the first aid kit Dream had thrown at him yesterday before facing the quiet man.

"You know, they don't plan to visit you... right?" The blond glared at Dream, his grip on the box in his hands growing.

"Shut up! I'm their friend. They will visit me!" His wings flared open as he spoke, trying to make himself look threatening. He quit seconds later once he realized what he was doing. The whole time Dream said nothing, only stared at Tommy with that smiley mask he wished he could rip off of his face. It was a cowardly thing to do, hide your face the way Dream did. At least Tommy believes it is.

"Believe what you want, but they aren't coming." With that Dream dug out a hole, Tommy already knowing what he was planning. "Now Tommy." He stopped digging, looking back towards the blond. "Put your things in the hole." And Tommy did. Times like these he wished Ghostbur was around.

Three Weeks Later. . .

Tommy stood on the edge of the path, his eyes sparkling at the lava below him. The hot substance bubbled and popped as if trying to coax the avain into its embrace, and it was working. His hands balled as he stared at it, fighting with himself if he should jump off and end the misery he went through every day.

It seemed like such a better option, to be engulfed in flames and finally sleep in peace. He wouldn't have to face this sad excuse for a world, he could join his brother in death. He wondered what death was like. Was it nice? Would mother welcome him with open arms? The thought of seeing his mother made him want to jump even more.

His mother, she was the best mother Tommy could ever ask for. She was kind, treated her sons with kindness, and filled the house with happiness and laughter. After her death the home was dull, his father slowly less constant in his and Wilbur's life, until he was finally gone with Technoblade. He made a move to jump, and something yanked him back, his wings flapping outwards frantically out of surprise. Someone growled, quickly letting go of the stumbling teen before he faced Dream. He froze, dull blue eyes watching the angry man before him.

Dream grabbed Tommy's arm, yanking him to the ground before slamming his foot in between his brown wings. Tommy made a move to try and shove Dream off, but an axe suddenly becoming only inches away from his neck made him stop. "It's not you're time to die Tommy..." Tommy flopped his head back onto the ground, a sad sniffle leaving him as tears gathered in his vision.
"It's never my time to die..."

One Week Later. . .

Tommy sat at the empty table staring at the cake in front of him, his dull eyes glazed over with unshed tears. How come no one was here? He had given Ghostbur those invitations, he had made a path to his portal where he'd be waiting... he had been so excited, he had wanted someone to visit him. He heard someone come up behind him, and out of foolish hope, he turned around. Dream looked back at him, his smiley mask mocking his sadness. "What's wrong?" Tommy looked back at the cake, feeling dazed.

"No one... came." His wings drooped as he said those words out loud. Dream didn't say anything back, and Tommy couldn't blame Dream for not saying something. He shot up out of his seat as he squeezed his eyes shut. "No one... came." Anger filled his soul, his once dull eyes opening to shine with fury, one of his fists lifting to slam into the innocent cake. Silence fell over the two, and even though the avian couldn't see Dream he knew he was still looking at him. He hated this, he hated this place and he hated Dream.

"Tommy." The blond twirled around on his heel and without a word started his way to his tent, the place he had been spending his whole exile in. The place he cried himself to sleep in, the place he was supposed to call his new 'house'. Dream followed him of course, because why wouldn't he? He swung his chest open, rummaging through it to find that stupid compass Ghostbur had gifted him.

He yanked it out, glaring angrily at it as his tears finally fell down his face. Like at the table he left the tent just as fast, Dream on his tail saying his name all the way to the nether portal. He didn't stop though, the tears blinding him as he sniffled back pathetic sobs. He reached the edge of the platform, his hand raising over his head ready to throw the compass Ghostbur had given him into the bubbling depths below.

His arm froze though, refusing to let the compass leave its grip. He shook, more tears leaving his eyes as he squeezed them shut. Dream grabbed his wrist, turning the teen around to face his stupid mask, the mask Tommy hated with a passion. "Tommy stop." His voice was cool as if none of this phased him. It made Tommy even angrier.

"Why did you do this to me!" He screamed out, his free hand moving to throw a punch at the man's face. His other arm was grabbed as well, forced to pause its movements.

"I didn't do anything to you, this all happened because no one cares." The two stayed quiet, Tommy sniffling as he cried, and Dream just staring at the teen. "I told you, no one cares."

One month Later. . .

Tommy flinched as the explosives went off, his arms and wings going to cover his face and body like every other time. He hated this, how Dream would force him to throw all his recourses into a hole and make him stand there as he blew them up. Sometimes he'd make Tommy stand too close, the explosives scorching his skin and leaving scars. He didn't mind anymore, they were nothing compared to the beatings Dream would inflict on him, but he couldn't help but cry every time Dream left him alone for the day.

"Tommy." Dream's voice was cold as he spoke, Tommy quickly removed forcing his arms to his sides and wings to lay flat against his back. He looked towards the masked man, gulping at the suffocating atmosphere surrounding them.

"Yeah?" Dream moved forwards, Tommy having to force his feathers to lay down and his body from bolting away.

"Your wings..." Both paused, Tommy staring at the other in fear. "Can you... fly?" His wings tightened against his back as if they wanted to emerge into it to protect them.

"Yes." His voice cracked as he spoke, slightly shaking as he answered. Dream only hummed though, quickly turning away from the teen before walking towards the end portal. Tommy didn't look away until he saw the man disappear, and even then he couldn't get himself to relax. He knew Dream was planning something.

One Week Later. . .

Tommy closed the chest slowly, smiling to himself as he stood up. Dream hadn't found the secret room yet, and that meant Tommy was able to keep some things that he could actually call his own. It was something that Tommy was happy about. He made his way out of the secret room, stretching his wings once he made it to the surface and closed up the entrance.

He hadn't flown since he was taken to exile, too afraid of what dream would do if he saw him flying around. But now the urge to fly was unbearable. He was about to take off, but the nether portal warped letting Tommy know someone was coming through. As always Dream walked over to him, Tommy becoming uneasy at the green hooded man's presence.

"Tommy! It's a good day isn't it?" Tommy hesitantly nodded. "We should do something." Tommy didn't want to hang out with this freak. But he really had no choice.

"Yeah... we should."

Two Hours Later. . .

For once Tommy was genuinely laughing, he was coming back from a hunting trip with Dream, a meat bag slung over his shoulder as he walked back home. Dream was with him, because of course he was, but he was actually fun to be around this visit. It had been lonely here, so maybe it was just his loneliness speaking. "This will last me a long time Dream, thanks for doing this with me."

"No problem, I had fun too!" The rest of the walk home was full of banter back and forth and laughs that they both shared. It was nice to feel relaxed, he hadn't felt this way since he was sent to exile. Hopefully, the rest of his time here would be like this. As they made it to the exile site Tommy went to drop the meat bag off, leaving Dream alone for a few minutes.

He was still smiling, opening the meat bag up to sort it out into the right chests before rejoining Dream outside. That is, that was the plan. "Tommy." The voice made the avian's smile disappear, his skin turning pale. He froze his movements, his wings fluffing up in fear. "Tommy, why is there an underground room, with a bunch of chests.... With a shitload of things in it." Tommy didn't know what to do, his head turning towards the masked man, his blue eyes widening.

"I-" Dream rushed forwards, making the teen flinch before turning back around in an attempt to run away, or fly away as his wings spread out ready to take off. Before he could though Dream grabbed hold of his hair, yanking him to the ground. Tommy screeched out, fear filling his eyes as Dream then started dragging Tommy to where the secret room was. His wings flapped, his arms going to grab Dream's wrist to stop the older adult from pulling his hair out. "Dream I'm sorry, stop!"

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Tommy whimpered, his blue eyes squeezing shut at the man's yelling. "I've been so nice to you Tommy! I've been lenient, I've been helpful! I am your friend!" Tommy was pulled to his feet, Tommy quickly doing as Dream wanted, his hands still griping Dream's wrist, his fist still having a tight grip on his shaggy blond hair. "This is how you repay me? By hiding things from me?!"

"I-I'm sorry I won't do it again! I'm sorry!"

"Your fucking right you won't do it again!" Tommy was thrown to the ground, his brown wings surrounding him as he watched Dream pull TNT out. He was placing the TNT around Tommy's campsite, and after a moment the avians realized what the adult was doing. His eyes widened, quickly scrambling to stand up and stop the other.

"No! Dream please! I-"

"SHUT UP!" Dream light the TNT, walking away towards Tommy's quivering figure. "I'm done being nice to you. You don't deserve the kindness I have- what the WORLD has!" Tommy shrunk away from Dream, his tears becoming waterfalls. "No one cares about you! No one wants you around! I was willing to be your friend!" Dream grabbed Tommy's face, forcing the teen to face him. "Turn around." Tommy's blue eyes widened, quickly shaking his head no. "I said, TURN AROUND."

With more sobs and ugly tears, he did as told slowly, his wings tightening against his back. He didn't know what to expect, but he knew whatever it was it was going to be bad. Before he knew it he was kicked to the ground, a foot brutally being pressed against his spine between his two flailing wings. He looked behind himself to see Dream holding an axe, one of his hands reaching for one of his feathered wings. Tommy's eyes grew wide, quickly trying to get the other off of him.

"NO! NO DREAM PLEASE!" Nothing worked, his wing was grabbed, and an axe was swung back. He screamed in agony the whole time, tears running down his face as his vision became blurry.

"You're not allowed in the nether, you're not allowed to have visitors, and you'll be lucky if I show up! And know if I do fucking show up, it's only so I can make sure you're still here and can keep an eye on you!" With his blurry eyes, Tommy watched the flames of his exile as he felt himself slipping, looking up to see the bloody mask of Dream before he finally passed out.
