~Chapter 10~

One Day Later. . .

Tommy sat at the dining table, his eyes watching the other two from a window in the room. He was still healing, his side still bandaged up with pain still flaring up anytime he tried to move. It was slowly dissipating, but not enough for Technoblade to be comfortable with the blond leaving to Pogtopia yet.

It irritated him that the piglin hybrid was treating him as if he was still just some kid when they both knew that in the past Tommy had worse injuries than this one. Now he was watching as Technoblade fed some of his animals, Philza beside him as he talked to the pinkette.

Tommy had some tea in between his hands, something that Technoblade insisted the other drank. So now Tommy sat at the kitchen table watching the two with calculating eyes and peacefully sipping on his tea. If Tommy was to be honest, this was the most peace that he had had in a very long time. It was nice to sit and not have to worry about who was after him, like Dream, and where the nearest hiding spot was. But a part of him knew he’d never be safe, it was just a false sense of peace he was feeling.

A long sigh left his lips, looking away from the window to look at the plans he had been slowly forming. He took a long sip of his tea, scribbling more information down onto a piece of paper he had out before him. It was important that he got these done for Philza, that way the other avian could begin planning.

He was deep in thought, so deep he didn’t notice when Technoblade eventually walked into the kitchen. Tommy had looked up once he realized there was a figure looming over him, meeting eyes with a curious set of blue. “What ya got there?” Techno questioned, looking towards the papers again.

“Plans for the machine that Philza’s gonna build. I thought a good layout would help with the construction for him.” Technoblade hummed, picking up one of the many papers.

“Yeah, I guess that could be helpful.” Techno agreed, eyes skimming over the sloppy handwriting Tommy possessed. He seemed to be trying to figure out what Tommy was planning, since the younger had only ever given vague ideas of what he wanted in order to destroy L’manburg. Tommy couldn’t fully blame the older for being curious. “Seems you’re really thinking about this huh?” Tommy nods, pushing another finished paper away from himself, a blank piece right under it ready to be used.

“I don’t want any mistakes made.” He grumbles out. Technoblade hums in acknowledgment, setting the papers he had in his hands back down where he found them. “Lats thing we need is something going wrong.” The older brother stayed quiet at that, eyes watching the blond before speaking again.

“Maybe you should take a break, I can tell this is affecting you alot.” Tommy looked up at Techno with a questioning gaze. “Since you showed up, I feel like all you’ve been talking about is destroying L’manburg, preparing for it tirelessly, I’m just worried.” It was weird for Tommy to hear those words leave the piglin hybrids mouth, it wasn’t normal for him to get this emotional. What Tommy could remember from his timewith Techno, before he left with Phil, is that he almost always wore a calm face, barely showing any emotion to even his family. Tommy sat up straighter before answering the piglin hybrid.

“I just want it done as soon as possible.” Techno sat down next to Tommy, slouching slightly in his seat. He had been working outside, he’s sure he’s tired body is happy to finally relax.

“Well, I’m sure that the whole country is on lockdown after my escape, that and the fact you’re out and roaming around. I’m sure they’re afraid Dream’s going attack because of that too.” The avian knew for a fact Dream wouldn’t be attacking anything so soon, he was probably still trying to cope with what Tommy had done to him. That is, if he was even alive anymore. Damage that fatial sometimes can take someone out completely, it wasn’t out of the question that he could be dead. A small smile fell onto his lips at the thought, quickly wiping it away before Technoblade notices. Tommy sighed, his hand pausing his writing as he looks towards the other again.

“I guess your right.” Tommy mutters. “But that doesn’t mean we can’t still prepare.”

“Isn’t most of the preparing getting into L’manburg?” Techno countered, his blue eyes watching Tommy closely. He wasn’t wrong. Seeing as he had already been sneaking into L’manburg to get to the sewers to plant the TNT he needed, but now with security even tighter it might end up being almost impossible to get into L’manburg.

“What do you suggest we do then? Quit? Because I don’t think they’ll ever calm down from this fully.” The other brother rolled his eyes.

“No, that’s not what I’m saying. I think we should just wait a few days before trying to get into L’manburg. They’re too aware right now, once things calm down so will they.” Tommy let a long irritated sigh leave his lips.

“How long are we talking, Techno?” He asks.

“Maybe a week, then we start up again. You can keep building up your wolf army, and making plans. But until then we can’t do much else.”

“Once I’m able to go back to Pogtopia, I’ll start working on the wolf army again.” Tommy started, leaning back in his chair. It seemed Techno had no counter to that either, seeing as the man went quiet in his seat next to Tommy. It was peaceful, for once in the house, and Tommy was enjoying every moment of it. Life on the server was rarely peaceful, so much like Tommy many people savored the quiet, not having to worry about who was after them, and if they were going to die in the next hour.

So now the two brothers sat in silence as Tommy wrote down the plans for Philza. Techno looked calm, distant even as he looked towards the window and out into the snowy land he lived in. Tommy didn’t pay too much attention to Techno’s behavior, at least at first. But Tommy was curious, and the more Technoblade looked out the window, his eyes looking far away, he couldn’t help but set his pen down. “What’s on your mind?” Tommy asked. Technoblade snapped out of his trance, looking back towards Tommy before answering.

“You remember when we were younger, how I’d play fight with you?” Tommy stared at the other, trying to reach back in his early memories as he tried to understand what the pinkette was trying to say. Techno and Phil had left him and Wilbur at a young age, the two having to fend for themselves at an age that just wasn’t appropriate in any way. It had gotten so bad that Tommy had forced himself not to think of the two for a long time. He doesn’t remember much before Phil and Techno left now, only little snippets of what his brain let him keep. Now, his childhood was filled with a slowly breaking Wilbur, and the beft father figure Tommy could ask for at the time. So now seeing Techno’s hopeful eyes staring at him, he bit his lip before answering the others question.

“Not really, no.” Techno seemed to lose his somewhat happy demeanor, but the older brother seemed to try and not let it bother him.

“Well, when we were younger, I’d try and teach you some of the word skills I picked up from learning from dad. You were too young to really fight, but it was one thing we bonded over then, the want to learn how to fight.” Tommy gave the older all his attention as he started talking, trying to understand what the other was trying to get at. “So, I had promised to teach you everything I knew properly once you got older.” Tommy was still confused, staring at Technoblade with a tilted head.

“Okay? What are you trying to tell me Techno?” The blond had a slight chuckle in his voice as he leaned forwards, blue eyes sparkling with interest. The piglin hybrid smiled at Tommy’s question as well, a soft chuckle leaving his own lips.

“Well, I never did fulfill that promise, did I?” It took a moment for Tommy to understand, a laugh leaving his lips once he leaned back in his seat crossing his arms over his chest.

“What, you’re gonna train me now?” Techno shrugged, eyes dragging back towards the window.

“I mean, you such at fighting, so if you want I could.” Tommy frowned at Techno’s teasing, watching the pinkettes lips quirk up in a smirk. Tommy sighed, rolling his eyes in the process, but a soft look did take over his face.

“You really want me to be you’re prodigy huh? Are you prepared to take on such a challenge?” Tommy teased. Technoblade let another laugh leave his lips, eyes sparkling with an emotion he hadn’t seen in a very long time. He looks so happy, so happy Tommy couldn’t help but feel that same warmth take over his own chest. “Well, I have no reason to say no, so if you really want to I don’t see why we can’t do some training.” Tommy agreed.

“Great, we could begin tomorrow. Your injury should be healed enough for some training tomorrow.” It was weird that Technobladewas trying to form some type of relationship with Tommy, especially since it had been years since they had seen each other. He expected Technoblade to hate him right from the start, throw him out of his house and tell him he was crazy if he ever thought he’d help a traitor like him. But he didn’t, and from that point on Technoblade keeps surprising Tommy.

From the beginning, Techno had been nothing but kind to him, and Tommy is nothing but grateful. If Tommy was being honest, he would be willing to call Technoblade his brother again. But then again, he isn’t sure if he ever stopped seeing the older as a brother.

“If you think so.”
