Chapter 96.
Third person P.O.V
"Where are they?!" Bonnie yelled as she ran into the doors of Crowen hospital with her husband and Jaxton behind her. They had gotten a call from Detective Fisher some minutes ago asking them come to Crowen hospital since there had been an incident and without a second thought, Bonnie was out the door immediately. Her husband had been home for a while since Bonnie had called him the minute Detective Fisher had left their home.
Throughout the ride to the hospital, Bonnie was silent, she had been panicking; her hands were joined together and she was impatiently waiting to get to the hospital.
"Matthew, please drive faster!" She yelled in a panicking tone.
"Relax, Bonnie." Matthew said, trying to calm him wife even when he himself was at edge, he couldn't stop gulping in fear that something had happened to the boys.
Jaxton sat at the back, he couldn't just sit, his heart was in his throat. He kept praying silently that they were both okay, he quickly texted Dominic that he was going to the hospital and texted Jon as well, since he had called them earlier to help call Dylan and Henry's phone.
Once they had gotten to Crowen hospital, Bonnie pushed the door open and ran
"Where are....who?" The receptionist at the desk asked, sounding confused.
"M-My kid." Bonnie stuttered, she looked so miserable but then we were all worried.
"I'm sorry ma'am, you're gonna have to be more specific." The nurse said softly
"Our kid's name is Dylan," Mr. Dexwell cut in.
"Mrs. Dexwell." Detective Fisher called out of the blue, our heads turned to the hall and there he was and in less than a second, Bonnie was running towards him.
"What happened? Y-You said there had been an incident a-and the connection got lost and I couldn't really hear and....where's my son?" Bonnie asked in a panic tone.
Jaxton was worried, he had only seen this part of Bonnie when the Vaughn thing happened, but this seemed worse.
"Mrs. Dexwell, you have to calm down." Detective Fisher said softly but he was also breaking, he didn't know how to tell her since she was pregnant and in a panic mode.
"We can't calm down, where are they?" Mr. Dexwell asked, angrily. He wanted to see his son, he wanted to know his son and his boyfriend were both okay.
"Jaxton!" A voice called from behind them, Jaxton turned and saw his best friends running towards them.
Raven, Jon, Gwen and Zach.
"What's going on? Where are they?" Zach asked, breathing hard.
"W-We don't k-know yet." Jax stuttered, shaking his head.
"Dylan?" Raven asked as she swallowed and Jaxton just shook his head with a sad look.
"Where is Henry? Is he...okay?" Bonnie asked in a shaky voice and they all turned back to Detective.
At that moment, Henry's half brother and step mother ran in and went straight to the receptionist. Daniel began to ask about his brother but then he spotted Detective Fisher whom he knew and ran towards him with his mother.
"Fisher, hey. Any news? Where's my brother?"
"Is he okay?" Mary asked. "Where is he?" She asked, shaking with worry. She was scared, all she wanted to know was that he was okay because he was her responsibility.
"I-"
"Please tell me he's okay," Mary said, cutting the Detective off. "You c-called us, please tell me he's fine, please." Mary begged, crying already.
"Fisher!" Daniel yelled, demanding an answer.
Detective Fisher opened his mouth to answer their questions but Bonnie's name was called from behind him and they all looked away from the Detective and at the boy standing behind him.
Henry.
The first thing that came into their minds was thanking the lord that he was here and okay.
"Henry!" Daniel jogged to his brother and gave him a tight hug. "God, I was so worried."
"Thank God, you're okay." Mary said from beside Daniel, she knew her boundaries and even though she had been worried as hell, she knew not to hug him.
Bonnie called out Henry's name and ran towards him giving him a tight hug.
"Thank God, you're okay." She whispered but Henry didn't hug her back.
Everyone except Fisher walked over to them and stood behind Bonnie.
Mrs. Dexwell was still hugging him but the others could see a different kind of Henry, he was sad, broken. He looked like he had been crying for a long time and Bonnie seemed to not have seen that yet.
"I'm glad, you're fine." Bonnie said.
Raven's eyes went straight to Henry's hands which were filled with blood, his fists were bruised. Her brows knitted in surprise as she studied him.
Jaxton noticed the boy's expression, his sad eyes like the time of his parent's accident and he gulped, Henry's hair was wet due to the fact that he had been sweating, his eyes were red and they all saw what Bonnie didn't.
Bonnie pulled back and cupped his cheeks. "I'm glad you're okay." She said with a smile. "W-Where's Dylan?" She asked softly and looked around, "why isn't he with you?"
Henry sniffed as his throat seemed to close up, the tears fell from his eyes and Bonnie's smile vanished as she saw him cry. She looked away from him and at her shirt which was now covered with red, she slowly looked away from hers and at his own shirt which was covered with a lot of blood and fear gripped her. She rapidly looked up at Henry. "H-Henry, who's blood is that?" She asked softly but Henry lowered his head as he tried so hard not to cry in front of her or them; this throat closing up the more.
"H-Henry, I asked you a question. W-who's blood is that?" Bonnie asked again.
And when that name left his lips, everyone felt a certain kind of coldness that seemed to surround them all and a huge pain.
"Dylan." He muttered. "He...lost a lot of blood."
Mary quickly covered her mouth to stop herself from letting out any screams, her son's jaw dropped once he heard the boy he became fond of owned that much blood Henry was covered in.
Bonnie's shaky hands left Henry's cheeks as she took a couple steps back. "No!" She shook his head. "This.... It can't all be his."
"He was shot." Detective Fisher said from behind them. "Johnathan, he...he had a gun."
Bonnie froze as he spoke and then turned to her husband. "They are lying right?" She asked and looked at Henry. "Right?" She asked, hoping he'd say it was all a joke or something but he just shook his head as he looked miserable. "Our baby, he...he got shot." She said as she looked back at her husband.
Matthew swallowed the huge lump in his throat and made his way to his wife to comfort her, as he tried to hold her, she moved backwards. "No, I-I wanna see him. I want to see my son!" She said as she wiped off her tears. "Where is he?" She asked Detective Fisher.
"He's in the ER, he'll be fine."
"NO!" Bonnie yelled and walked over to him. "This is your fault!!" She screamed and slapped him. "This is your fault!" She grabbed his shirt and pulled his closer. "You've hurt my baby!" She hit his chest severally. "I warned you!!"
"Bonnie, Bonnie stop!" Matthew said and pulled her away from him, she still tried to reach for him but Matthew twirled her and hugged her tight. She fought to be free but then gave up and cried continuously on his chest.
Jaxton stood still as the tears fell from his eyes, his best friend had been shot and he didn't even know what to do, how to help him; he didn't know if he was okay. He just stood like a mannequin; he was a mannequin who needed a hug.
"Is he gonna be okay?" Jon asked Henry in a low tone, his girlfriend's hand placed on his shoulder.
"I don't know," Henry said, tiredly. "I don't know." He repeated and the tears fell again, he didn't even bother hiding it. He didn't care if they all saw him as weak, his lover was undergoing a surgery and what haunted him was how he couldn't protect him, how he let him get shot. Henry slid to the floor and pulled his hair as he let out shaky breaths.
"He's gonna be fine, it's Dylan. He'll be fine." Jon said with a continuous nod. "He'll be..okay." He kept assuring them, but deep down he was just as scared as they were. His heart was racing and when he looked at his girlfriend with that fake smile, he knew she could see through it and so she hugged him.
Zach walked to where his best friend was and squatted down, he knew how much Henry loved Dylan and he knew how much he was hurting as well and so he said nothing and just pulled him into a hug. Sure he acted like he never liked the boy with the white hair but he couldn't deny how he had become fond of him during the time they had become a team to save Raven and sure, the boy annoyed him but he found him perfect for his best friend.
Raven didn't know what to do, the news about her best friend being shot had scared her, it hit her with force. She looked at everyone and she felt choked, she needed to cry. She was hurting, she blamed herself, she hated herself, she was mad at herself. She turned and ran out of the hospital real quick, Jaxton turned and called out her name but she didn't stop, she felt she had been a horrible friend, should she even cry with them when she had lied to him?
The tears fell as she walked away, the more she wiped the tears away, the more it fell. She couldn't even properly see where she was going with the blurry view, she bumped into a few people on her way out but she didn't care, she couldn't wait. She needed to scream, she bumped into someone else once she was out of the hospital and didn't stop walking.
"Woah," the person said.
"Sorry," she muttered and sniffed as she walked continuously
"Raven?"
She stopped once she heard the voice and turned, when she saw the boy, she felt relieved. She felt safer, she knew she wouldn't be able to get to her car before she cried out. "Nixon?"
"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked as he walked over to his sister, he was dressed in a Grey suit and looked professional like he always did.
"W-What are you...doing here?" She asked and gulped.
"I'm here to see one of my clients, what's wrong? Hey?" He tucked her hair behind her ear. "What's going on."
Raven opened her mouth to speak but no words came out and then she cried, she looked down at her shoes as she sobbed harder.
"Hey, Hey, it's okay." Nixon said and pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her.
Raven screamed in his chest as the pain consumed her. She couldn't stop blaming herself. If she had not done what she did, if she had not been mad from the beginning when she was doing something worse then all these wouldn't happen. They wouldn't have fought, she wouldn't have to lie, they'd still be best friends and she would have gone to the group home with them and maybe it'd be her instead.
***
Henry's P.O.V
It had been ten minutes, everyone was waiting to hear anything, get a news about Dylan but all the nurses kept passing and wouldn't answer any of our questions and it really was starting to piss me off. Waiting for the Dark angel were his parents, his lover, his best friends, Dominic, my brother and Mary, Nixon and Gwen and Detective Fisher. Anyone who saw us right now would think we had lost someone and it was indeed scary.
I couldn't stop blaming myself, I wasn't able to protect him but instead he protected me. What kind of a boyfriend am I if I let this happen to the one person who made me feel different. How could I live with myself?
"Would you die with me?"
"God no." I huffed. "I mean if it's a meaningless death like the one you're explaining then no but if it's to die together for another reason like one of us is about to be assassinated or something, then I'll die with you."
I ran a hand through my scattered hair as I sniffed.
I was such an idiot, how couldn't I tell?! Dylan had been saying things about how he'd die with me, for me, how he'd take a bullet for me and I didn't understand; it was like he knew this would happen.
Or maybe he did.
That would explain him being more panicked when he saw Johnathan with the gun, like....like he had seen it happen; he was so sure Johnathan would shoot me.
I should be the one in the ER not Dylan, I was angry with myself, I was the worst boyfriend. I couldn't even protect him in such scenario. I could feel the tears threatening to fall and so I quickly got up from the floor and walked away, Daniel called out my name severally but I ignored him as I walked straight to the boys bathroom. I slammed the door shut as I panted heavily and began to pace around, I needed to punch something, I was so mad. I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I was such a failure. I was filled with so much rage, I screamed and punched the mirror hard and it all shattered.
"That won't help, Henry." I heard and I turned to the voice to see Dylan's mom staring at me with folded arms.
"Mrs. D-Dexwell. I uh, I-I don't think you're supposed to be in here."
"Oh, fuck it." She said and walked over to me, she held my bleeding hand and stared at her. "You need to calm down, Henry. This won't help." She said and smiled at me. I didn't understand how she could still smile me and be so nice at me after I failed at protecting her son.
"I understand if you...if you never want to see me again or with your son."
"Why would I want that?"
I looked away from her, she looked so weak. Bonnie always had a huge smile on her face, she always was so lively and sassy and now she was just sad. "I'm sorry," I said softly. "I'm sorry I couldn't....protect him." I said and looked up at her, as much as I tried to hold back the tears, it still fell and I quickly wiped them off. "I'm sorry that I am a shitty boyfriend, I'm sorry that I...that I couldn't protect your son." I felt all choked up.
Bonnie shook her head at me with a smile and wiped off my tears. "It's not your fault, Henry. My son just had to also attract a psychopath and you had nothing to do with that." She joked and I cracked a smile. "You're an amazing boyfriend, Henry. You've changed my son and made him feel things he never thought he could. You're not a shitty boyfriend and I'm glad that my son has someone like you." She said and wiped off her own tears. "Punching mirrors and feeling like it's our fault won't heal him, we need to be strong, okay?"
I nodded and wiped off my tears. "Okay."
"Now, can you tell me what happened after he got shot? I saw the bruises on your knuckles."
I swallowed. "I almost killed him."
Flashback.
"Do it, you fucking prick! I'd die before I see you walk away with Dylan so fuck you! Shoot me!" I yelled at Johnathan, I wanted him to get mad at me and look away from Dylan. I wanted Dylan to run away, to be safe that was why I tried to drag his attention away from my boyfriend.
The psycho smirked and his finger went straight to the trigger, he cocked his head to the side and smirked like the psychopathic maniac he was. He was gonna do it, i knew and i gulped. I'd go down this way, I didn't want Dylan in the way because I knew Johnathan had a huge grudge against me. All I wanted was for Dylan to get the hell away from here but he was still here.
I looked away from Johnathan and at my boyfriend who looked so scared, I hated seeing him that way but if this was how I was gonna go down, I needed to assure him it was gonna be fine and so I smiled at him softly, before looking back at Johnathan.
He was about to pull the trigger and so I closed my eyes, I heard Dylan scream and it made me feel horrible and t-
BANG!!
I flinched, my heart stopped for a second out of fear. I waited for the pain, I waited for it all but....it never came. I opened my eyes slowly and standing in front of me was Dylan, he just stood still and didn't utter a word.
My heart stopped again.
"No. N-No." I stuttered.
Dylan let out a shaky breath and touched where he had been shot, he looked at his hand and slowly turned to me. He stared at me and swallowed, his eyes were suddenly full with fear, he was scared. He choked on nothing but air and breathed through his mouth. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to say.
I was in shock.
He opened his mouth to say something but instead fell on me, I quickly grabbed him and held him close. "No, hey, hey!"
He let out a shaky breath.
"N-No!"
"It's okay," he whispered.
"Shush, shush, it's gonna be fine." I said as I held him against my chest and gently went on my knees so I could hold him properly and look at him. I needed to attend to his wound, I needed to do something.
"Oh, thank God he d-didn't shoot y-you." He smiled, weakly
"Stop talking." I said as I took off my jacket rapidly and placed it on the wound, adding pressure to try and stop the bleeding but it all didn't seem to be working and it scared me so much, I found myself crying. "You're losing so much b-b-blood."
"I didn't...I didn't mean to shoot him." I heard Johnathan say.
"H-Henry, it's o-okay." He said and winced in pain.
"Don't talk!" I said as I tore another pierce and put more pressure on it. "What were you thinking?!" My heart was beating erratically.
"Hey," he touched my cheek. "I'm s-sorry," he cried. "I w-was scared, p-please don't be mad at me."
"I'm not mad, okay? Just...just hold on!" I said and screamed for help, my hands shaking.
Dylan's eyes were filled with tears and his breathing reduced.
"It hurts." He said as a tear from from his eye.
"It'll be okay, it...it will be fine, Babe. I promise." I assured him as I added more pressure while the tears fell.
"SHIT! SHIT!! SHIT!!!" Johnathan screamed.
"Hey, open your eyes, Dylan." I said once I saw them close. He opened them slowly, he looked so tired, he was becoming pale right in front of me. "Don't you dare close those eyes!"
"It h-hurts," He cried. "I'm a-actually s-scared." He admitted.
"I know." I said as the tears fell. "God, Dylan, what were you thinking? I was supposed to protect you. How could you be so selfish!"
He cried.
"SOMEBODY HELP ME!!" I yelled.
Dyl said nothing but stared, his eyes unfocused and slowly closing.
"Hey! Open your eyes, Dyl." I yelled but he didn't respond to me and my heart thumped the more.
"Dylan, please I'm...I'm sorry!" Johnathan begged and the anger consumed me. "I didn't...IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE YOU!" He cried, I watched him carefully and when he screamed and turned, I got up and ran towards him.
He turned to me and his eyes widen, I threw him to the ground and we both fought for the gun, he pulled the trigger again and I punched him so hard. He let go of the gun and I threw it aside, I punched him again and again, the anger I used to feel tripled and all I could see was red.
I didn't stop.
I wanted him dead.
"H-Henry, st-stop!" He begged.
I didn't.
I punched him continuously until I saw blood and yet I didn't stop. He wasn't fighting anymore and just laid there, his face red and bruised.
Sirens were everywhere and seconds later cars were all around us. "Hey Henry, let him go! Henry!" Detective Fisher said as he ran to me and tried to pull me up.
I screamed and pushed him away as I continuously punched him with the anger I felt. Detective Fisher and three other cops pulled me away from him, I screamed, I wanted to kill him, I was hurting.
"Henry! Calm down!!" Detective Fisher yelled.
Two other cops picked Johnathan up and handcuffed him, he couldn't even stand properly. "We'll take things from here." Fisher said. "Breathe!"
Another siren was heard and as I turned I saw an ambulance coming our way. "Someone in the neighborhood called!" Fisher said and then his eyes landed on Dylan. "No, no, no, no." He said repeatedly and ran to him. "Dylan? Dylan, hey!" He called as he picked him up.
FLASHBACK ends
"If they had not stopped me, I would have killed him." I said with no regret. "I was so mad, I left Dylan there alone cause I wanted to kill him." I swallowed. "He was scared, Bonnie. He was scared." I cried. "I...It's my fault!" My voice cracked.
Bonnie shook her head and pulled me into a hug. "Let's not cry." She said as she cried. "Let's not cry."
But we did.
***
"Doctor!!" Daniel called and walked over to the man in glasses who was coming down our way, Daniel blocked his path angrily. "We've been here for close to thirty minutes, tell us something!"
We all stood up and went over to them, standing beside Daniel.
"He's our son, you need to tell us if he's okay." Bonnie demanded. "I won't let any of you walk past us anymore like that, you are going to fucking tell us what we need to know or else!" She threatened.
"Is he okay?" Jaxton asked softly, he had been crying nonstop.
"I was coming to you guys, actually. I'm doctor A-"
"We don't care, just tell us what we need to know." Raven chimed in, her voice trembling in fear.
I nodded. "Go ahead." I said with a gulp.
He swallowed. "Um, we were able to take out the bullet and he's fine...for now."
"Oh, thank God." Jon let out a sigh of relief.
"W-What do you mean...for now?" Raven asked, curiously and we all looked back at him.
"All that's left is for him to wake up."
"What does that suppose to mean?" Bonnie asked with a frown.
"It might take a while."
"Spill it, goddamn it!!" I yelled, angrily and Dylan's dad put his hand on my shoulder.
"He's...in a coma."
We all went silent.
"I-I thought....it was mostly accidents that causes coma?" Dominic said.
"He was in shock, we just need him to wake up." The doctor said and I ran a hand through my hair, Bonnie resumed her crying and the mood became sad again.
"C-Can we see him?" Zach asked, softly.
He nodded. "Not today, I'm sorry."
"Will he...will he be able to hear us?" I asked, my hands on my hips.
The doctor looked at me and nodded. "He should be able to hear you."
I sniffed and ran a hand through my hair again, he looked at my hand and frowned. "We should get your knuckles treated, it could get infected."
"I don't care about that."
"Mister-"
"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK! GO WAKE HIM UP! TRY TO GET HIM OUT OF THAT COMA BECAUSE...HE...HE should...he should be awake and a-at home and not here." Daniel came towards me and placed his hand on my shoulder. "Don't touch me." I pushed his hand away, feeling bitter. "He can't be in a coma." I said angrily, consumed by sadness. "He should be...awake." I said, my voice trembling.
Jaxton walked away from his boyfriend and towards me, the next thing I felt was his arms wrapped around me; I didn't want to cry, I refuse to cry. I shouldn't be crying but then I cried bitterly on his shoulder and soon I felt different arms around us.
"Where is he?" We heard Mrs. Dexwell ask, we all pulled back and saw her walk over to Detective Fisher. "Where. Is. He?" She asked, coldly.
"Where is who?"
"The son of a bitch who shot my son! I want to see him."
"Mrs. Dexwell-"
"Now! It's the least you could do after failing to protect my son, don't you think?"
"Bonnie, are you sure?" Matthew asked.
She nodded. "I've never been so sure about anything right now."
I saw Detective Fisher gulp and then he nodded. "He's...here too."
"He's here?" Raven asked. "Where the fuck is he so I can greet him with my shoe!"
"That won't be necessary," he said and looked at me. "Henry already dealt with him more than you all would....together."
"I'll come with you." Jaxton said.
"Me too." Jon said with a nod, wiping his tears away.
"Okay, the rest of you should please wait here." He said and walked away with them.
"Come on, Henry, I'll take you home." Daniel said.
"I'm fine." I stated, firmly.
"Henry, come on. You're covered in blood."
"You kids go home and get some rest." Mr. Dexwell said with a small smile. "We'll handle things here."
"Mr. Dexwell," I looked up at him. "I-"
"Henry, it's okay. Go home, clean up, get some sleep and you can come back in the morning, okay?" He instructed.
"He's right." Zach said and patted his friend's shoulder.
I wanted to argue, I wanted to stay but before I could say anything, he cocked his head to the exit. "I'm not mad at you, Henry. It's late and you all need to go get some sleep, okay?" He smiled.
Nixon caressed his sister's shoulder. "Come on, I'll drive you home. He's right. You all need rest, we'll return in the morning."
Raven nodded. "Okay. But...call if you get any new detail!"
Mr. Dexwell nodded. "I will."
"I'm gonna wait for Jon." Gwen said as she hugged herself.
"Yeah, and I have to take Jaxton home." Dominic said.
"That's fine." Mr. Dexwell nodded. "I'll see the rest of you tomorrow."
"Goodnight." Raven said and walked away with her brother.
"Come on, bro." Daniel said and I nodded.
"Please call me if there is any problem or...anything." I said to Mr. Dexwell. I didn't want to leave, I wanted to stay by his side, I didn't want to go home but I couldn't do anything.
***
The ride home had been a silent one, Daniel talked but I didn't respond, I just looked out the window tiredly. At this moment, I hated myself. What if he had died once he was shot? I could have lost him, all because he tried to protect me.
Such a selfless human.
The car stopped and I got out of it without a word, I walked straight into the house and into my room, slamming my door shut. I rested my head against the door as I relived the moment over and over again, if only I had seen.
I punched the door angrily, I couldn't stop feeling this pain inside of me. I was hurting because Dylan was in the hospital, he was in a coma because of me. I couldn't think, my breaths were heavy, I was hurting and to stop hurting, I could only cause damage since he wasn't here.
The next thing I knew, I was thrashing everything in my room with a yell. I didn't care, I wanted to feel pain to end the one I felt inside, I just wanted to hit something, to punch someone, to do something. The door to my room flew open and Daniel and his mom appeared.
Mary looked shocked and so did Daniel as they looked around the room but I didn't care as I continued.
"Henry. Henry, stop!" Daniel shouted as he approached me and twirled me to face him. "Stop!"
"Leave me alone!"
"STOP THIS MADNESS! I KNOW YOU ARE HURTING BUT IT'S ONLY NORMAL! THIS... THIS ISN'T GOING TO HELP! WHAT DO YOU THINK DYLAN WOULD SAY IF HE SAW YOU DOING THIS?"
"IT'S MY FAULT HE GOT SHOT!" I yelled back.
"No, baby brother. It's not! It's not your fault. It's all Johnathan's fault, okay? Dylan only tried to protect you and how do you think he'll feel if he saw you like this, huh?" He asked and my eyes watered as I breathed rapidly. "He only protected you because he loves you." He said and placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Why would he..." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"Henry," Mary called softly, she had been crying again. She walked over to me and I turned away, she held my arm and turned me to face her. "Do not hide your pain from me." She said and wiped off my tears. "This is what people in love do, Henry. They don't think, they just do whatever they can to protect the person they love. The crazy things we do for people we love." She chuckled sadly.
"W-What am I supposed to do now?" I asked, my voice cracked.
"You just have to be strong," she shrugged. "Dylan needs everyone of us to be strong now and not give up on him. You're his boyfriend so you should have the biggest hope of him coming out of that coma real quick and be the strongest." She said and cupped my cheeks. "Someone has to be strong for his parents, someone has to be there for them and it's you. I know you're hurting, Henry and it's okay. It's okay to feel pain." She said and the tears fell from my eyes. "It's okay."
"It's n-not okay." I said, my voice trembling.
"It will be." She said and pulled me closer, hugging me as I cried like a child for the hundredth time today.
This was a far greater pain.
****
Raven's P.O.V
Nixon and I walked into the house side by side, we barely said anything throughout the ride, all Nixon did was assure me that Dylan was gonna be fine and I knew that but I couldn't stop being worried.
"Where the hell have you both been?" Dad asked as he approached us, a glass of wine in his hand. "I told you both to be home early and look what time you guys came home. Mr and Mrs. Singh already left an hour ago so welcome home kids, you're early." He said sarcastically.
"Dad," Nixon called but he was cut off.
"I expected more from you, Nixon. And then you both decided not to answer my calls! Aren't phones for answering calls as well?" He yelled.
"Dunk," Mom called as she walked down the stairs in her white nightgown. "Your blood pressure."
"I don't even care! The Singh's are the least of my problems, right now! Didn't you hear that that seventeen year old psycho escaped?! I was fucking worried for the love of God! What if he had shot one of you and then I'll have just one child! Jesus, kids! What the hell!" He scolded, for the first time voicing out how worried he was without using work as a cover up.
"Your father's been worried sick! Where were you both?!" Mom asked as she stood beside Dad, her arms folded.
"We're sorry, okay?!" Nixon spoke. "But Johnathan already shot someone and we were at the hospital! I was going to go see Mr. Green and I saw Raven there and so I had to wait with her till we got some news." He shrugged.
Mom put her hands down slowly as she looked from Nixon to me. "Raven," she called softly, her voice low. "Who got shot?"
I closed my eyes and the second the tears fell, I quickly wiped them off.
"Raven!" Mom called again.
"It was him, wasn't it?" Dad said, his voice low and deep. "He got to him."
Mom looked at him confused and I nodded. "Yeah, he was aiming for his boyfriend and Dylan just had to get in front of him and-" my throat closed up.
"Oh no." Mom gasped.
Dad sighed and walked over to me, he wiped my tears with his finger and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer. He patted my head gently and placed a small kiss on my head. "That boy, so different." Dad said with a sigh while I sobbed on his shirt. "He's gonna be okay, right?"
"He's in a coma." Nixon replied and I felt him nod.
"What?!" Mom exclaimed. "In...a coma?"
"It's Dylan, that kid's a survivor. He'll be fine." Dad said, he seemed so sure more than the rest of us and so I put my faith in him.
Dylan had to be fine.

Jaxton's P.O.V
Dominic and I walked into his house, his jacket around my shoulder since it suddenly became a cold night. I had lost count of the amount of times I cried tonight and I still on our way to his house. I didn't want to sleep alone today, I didn't want to stay home and cry alone and so I was gonna stay with Dominic.
Dylan isn't just my best friend, he's my brother and he made that official. I know some people might say he's not dead and there's no need to be sad but Dylan isn't just anybody and we all know not everyone gets out of a coma and that was what scared me at this moment.
Dylan not waking up.
"Boys, hey." Astrid greeted softly as she walked out of the kitchen, she quickly dropped the plate of food she had in it on the table and approached us. "How is he?" She asked curiously.
I shook my head and like the crybaby I was, the waterworks started.
"Not so good, ma." Dominic said and with a sad sigh, she hugged me.
"He's gonna be okay." She said as she stroked my hair. "It's okay sweetie."
"He's been crying nonstop." Dominic said and I felt Astrid cry. "Come here, doofus."
"I'm fine." Dominic grumbled.
"I know you're not." She said and second later I was being hugged from behind by Dominic.
"He's gonna be okay." She said and kissed my head and then his, I found myself sobbing louder even when I had tried to be quiet. "Let it all out, son." She said as she patted my back.
It had been an emotional night, we literally stood like that till I had stopped crying. I was a mess but I didn't care at this moment. Dominic and I were up in his room, snuggled up under the covers.
"You asleep?" He asked, his voice a little deep.
I shook my head. "No," my voice was so low, I barely heard myself.
"I can't sleep either." He said and held me closer, he kissed my neck and rested his head on my shoulder. "If this ever was to happen to us, promise me you'll never take a bullet for me."
"What?" I asked as I turned to face him.
"I don't want you to ever take a bullet for me or out yourself in danger because of me."
"W-Why?"
"Henry is hurting so bad. I don't know what I would do if it was you on that bed."
"Dominic."
"No, you have to promise me not to be selfless! I know you love me and I know you would do anything for me but please, don't take a bullet for me. I don't think I can stand the pain." He said in a serious tone.
"I promise." I muttered. "And besides, none of us have a psychopathic ex."
He smiled. "I don't. You do."
"Oh yeah, that's right. How could I forget I have my very own Johnathan."
"So there's a sixty percent chance it might happen." He said and I nodded.
"He won't be our of jail for a long time. Ten years."
"I love you, Jax."
I smiled. "I love you too, Dom. And don't die on me okay?"
He nodded. "I cross my heart." He said and pulled me closer, placing a kiss on my forehead. "What happened when you saw Johnathan and what did Detective Fisher mean when he said Henry beat him more than we all could together."
I swallowed. "Johnathan's face was covered in bandages. Henry really....almost killed him. It was like Henry Ashcroft before Dylan ever came to Eastwood again. The one punch man."
"Well, I'm glad he almost put him to rest."
"Dom!"
"I said almost." He chuckled. "And Dylan's mom?"
"She was begging Detective Fisher to please let her remove the oxygen mask."
"Seriously?" Dominic laughed.
"I swear." I grinned. "She was so sad." I sighed, my grin disappearing. "Dylan is her world."
"I know. She loves him so much. She's an amazing woman, she doesn't deserve this." Dom sighed.
"I hate this place." I grumbled as I moved closer to him.
"One day, we'll leave. You're graduating next year."
"I am. Thank God."
"And we'll move away from here."
"We?" I looked up at him in surprise.
"Yes. We. I want to leave Eastwood too but I'll wait for you and we can both go to wherever you're going."
I sat up. "Seriously?"
He nodded with a smile. "I hate this town too. We got abandoned here, mom almost died of cancer here. My boyfriend's best friend got shot here, my boyfriend almost got killed here, do you want me to go on?" He asked with arched brows. "I'm not staying for long before they succeed in killing one of the people I love." "
I chuckled. "You..don't even know where I could be moving to. I don't know what college I might go to."
"I don't care. I know a lot of colleges will die to have you in their school, the great Jaxton Olson."
I grinned. "I don't deserve you.
"Actually, you do. I'm like you." He shrugged. "No dad. A mom and a sister. We're soulmates."
I grinned. "Soulmates."
"Come here." He said and I laid back on the bed, snuggling closer to him.
"I love you, Dominic."
"I love you too, baby boy."

What do we see when we die?
What is always behind that white light?
I looked around the darkness but I couldn't see anything, I couldn't even see myself because of how dark it was. I let out a shaky breath.
I was back here again, ever since I got shot all I have been doing was walking in darkness and when I'd suddenly be at peace, I'd find myself here again after some moments.
"Henry!" I called out as I hugged myself while walking. "Mom! Dad!" I yelled but it all echoed, no answer.
I looked ahead and there it was, the white light that everyone talked about. The white light those who died and came back talked about and even those who didn't die.
I didn't know if I should approach it, I was a bit scared. What if that was the end of the road for me or a woman's vagina and once I go through it, I come out as a baby again?
It suddenly wasn't so dark anymore and I turned around quickly, behind me? It was complete darkness. I couldn't make out anything but right in front of me, it didn't seem so dark anymore. Did it mean I couldn't go back anymore?
I turned back to the light and let out a small scream once I saw a little kid standing in front of me. It took me a second to know whom it was and I froze while he smiled at me.
"I-Isaac?" My voice cracked.
"Hi Hi," he grinned and hugged me, I knelt to the floor and wrapped my arms around him. "Oh God." I chuckled. "Look at you, you're still...small." I laughed while crying as I stared at him.
"You b-big n-now."
I nodded. "Yes. I'm seventeen."
He looked at his fingers. "S-Sev-ven-t-teen?"
I chuckled and sniffed. "You still stutter and it's still cute."
"I c-can't grow."
"Yeah, I see." I said with a smile as so caressed his cheek. "I missed you. Mom missed you. Dad too."
"I k-know, I s-see it."
I frowned. "You see it?"
He nodded. "O-On b-big TV."
"Oh so you're stalking us?"
He giggled. "N-No, the b-big m-man show me."
"Oh!" I blinked. "God, huh."
He nodded. "He n-nice."
"Does he...you know, like me? I mean, gay people."
He shrugged. "I d-didn't a-ask."
"Oh!"
"S-So, y-you c-come with me?" He grinned. "I m-miss you."
I chuckled as the tears of joy fell. "Yeah, and we can catch up and I can be immortal and you can have your big brother back."
He was so excited, it was nice seeing him again. He looked just the same, his sparkling blue eyes and he was every bit perfect. Seeing him again made me teary, God I have missed him.
"C-Come, l-let's go." He said and held my hand, I stood up and he began taking me to the white light.
"Isaac, what's behind the white light?" I asked, curiously and he smiled.
"H-Home."
Home.
I smiled as I watched Isaac all jumpy.
"Hey, I need you to wake up, okay? You said you wanted me to teach you how to drive."
I heard and gasped, I turned and stared at the darkness. "Henry?"
"W-What's w-wrong?" Isaac asked.
I blinked.
Did I just...
"I swear I just heard Henry's voice." I said as I looked around. "HENRY!!" I called out.
"Y-You n-not c-comi-ing?" Isaac asked and I looked back at him.
I didn't want to be separated from him again, I shook my head. "Let's go." I said and with a smile he dragged me along.
"Your mom told me you learned how to make steak because of me. Why didn't you make one for me?".
I stopped again and turned. "Henry," I breathed and smiled. "You're okay." I sighed. "Henry! Henry!!!" I called again as I let go off Isaac's hand and took two steps into the dark.
"Everyone's waiting for you to wake up. Please wake up. I'm waiting. I need you."
Hearing him say that made a tear fall from my eyes unexpectedly, I could feel the pain in his voice, the sadness and it was powerful.
"Henry. I...I don't know how to w-wake up." I said as I looked around.
"If you can hear me please open your eyes."
"I CAN HEAR YOU!!" I shouted, hoping he could hear me. "I can..I can hear you." I said and closed my eyes. "Okay, Dylan. Focus and open your eyes and you'll be home to Henry and your family." I said and did my best, I opened my eyes and I was still here.
I was panicking. "Please!" I cried.
I could hear him crying and it broke my heart, I was also crying and I didn't know what to do. "Henry, I c-can't." I cried. "HELP ME!!" I screamed.
"D-Dylan." Isaac called and I swiftly turned to him, I had forgotten he was there, he looked sad.
"Y-You n-not coming?" He asked with a pout.
When he asked that question all I could think of was Henry and how he was hurting and probably losing himself. My parents and how sad they must be right now. My best friends. I didn't want to die and not speak with Raven, I missed her. I didn't want to leave Jax alone because he always felt like everyone would leave and I didn't want to leave him, he was my brother. I thought about Jon and how heartbroken he was gonna be. Detective Fisher, he'll definitely be depressed because he'd blame himself for not protecting me after promising to. Gwen! I loved that Blondie. I didn't want to go into the white light and I also didn't want to leave Isaac but mom would be hurting, she would never recover from this.
"I'm s-sorry, Isaac." I said and approached him, I knelt to his size as the tears fell. "I love you and I want to go with you because I have missed you. I prayed day and night that what happened that night would end up being a dream but I can't....because I have friends waiting for me to wake up," I said. "Mom and Dad will be so depressed if I go to....wherever that home is." I said and pointed at the white light. "They would never recover if they lose another kid and...we're having a new sibling, you know?" I smiled. "A new baby."
"I-Is it g-gonna b-be a b-boy or g-girl?"
"We don't know yet."
"I w-want a g-girl."
I chuckled. "I'm sorry, Isaac. I can't...go with you. Henry needs me. I c-can...I can feel his pain and I don't want to leave him alone." I said and wiped my tears with my fingers. "I love you but i love them too." I said and stood up. "I need to find a way to go back home. My home."
Isaac smiled sadly. "B-Back."
I frowned.
"G-Go back." He said and I turned to the darkness.
Of course, I had come from there. I looked back at Isaac and smiled. "Thank you, Eyezac."
He grinned. "B-Bye Bye, Deelin."
I chuckled and turned, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me back into the dark, I couldn't see but I didn't care.
"Come home."
I heard Henry say and I increased my speed.
"Please don't leave, sweetie."
"Mommy!" I cried as I ran, waving my hands in front of me so I don't hit anything.
"I'm sorry, Dylan. I know I have been a horrible friend but do wake up so I can apologize again and again. I promise to treat you to so many cakes if you open your eyes."
"I forgive you, stupid!" I chuckled, crying as I heard Raven, feeling her pain as well.
Where was I? Why wasn't this ending?
"Astrid and I knitted a sweater for you, I know when you wake up you'll say 'so gay' but it's beautiful I swear."
I laughed. "I'm coming." I screamed and then I fell hard and blacked out.
***
I hissed and opened my eyes, the light was so bright it almost blinded me. "Ugh," I muttered as I tried to blink out the blurriness.
"Sweetie?" I heard mom call.
"He's awake?"
"Oh God. Matthew, he's awake." Mom shouted and then everything became clearer and I saw her smiling at me "Mommy?"
"Hey, sweetie. You're finally awake. Thank God!" She cried.
I blinked. "You look different." I said and noticed she had changed her hair back to black and white strands like before. "You changed your hair again? I'm not dead, you know." I said and she looked at me confused. I tried to sit up and winced in pain.
"Be careful." Dad said instantly.
"I'm fine." I said as mom helped me sit up.
"We've prayed! I'm glad you're awake." She said as she cried and caressed my cheek.
"I heard you ask me to come back." I smiled.
She smiled back. "Thank God."
Dad smiled at me. "Hey, kiddo."
"Hi, old man."
His eyes widen and they both exchanged looks.
I looked at mom and realized something was different, her tummy wasn't big anymore. "You had the baby already? I missed my sibling's birth?"
Mom frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"The baby." They exchanged looks again. "Stop that look thing. Was it a girl or a boy?"
Mom's frown deepened. "Matthew, call the doctor." Mom said and dad quickly went.
"What's wrong?"
"Dylan, do you not remember what happened?"
"Yeah, Johnathan fucking shot me when he tried to shoot Henry."
Mom shook her head. "What? N-No. That's not what happened."
"What do you mean?"
"We had a car accident on our way to Eastwood, remember?"
"What? That's absurd, we already came to Eastwood like eight months ago or more than." I chuckled
"Dylan, you've been in a coma for nine months."
My smile faded. "If this is a joke mom, stop it!"
"It's not. We had an accident and you have been in a coma ever since."
"No. Johnathan shot me!!"
"Johnathan isn't even here!"
"No." I shook my head. "I...this is a lie."
"Dylan."
"No. I've been in Eastwood for months, this is a goddamn lie."
"What's going on?" A voice asked and when I looked away from her I realized it was the doctor and dad.
"He doesn't remember his accident." Mom said and stood up from the bed. "It's like you said. I think he created a world of his own."
"No! I did not! Where's Henry?!"
They all looked at me. "Sweetie, who is Henry?" Mom asked.
"My boyfriend! What do you mean?"
Their brows flew up. "Oh!" Mom blinked.
"Don't act surprised, you knew! Where is he?"
"We don't know who you are talking about." Mom yelled back.
"Oh and what about Jaxton and Raven? Are you gonna say you don't know them?"
"Who?" Mom and Dad both asked at the same time and I froze.
"Dylan, how do you feel?" The man in white asked.
"How do i feel? My parents are lying to me! I want you to call Henry. Henry Ashcroft." I demanded.
"Oh God." Mom sobbed.
"Dylan, there is no Henry." The Doctor said. "You don't know any Henry, you only think there is a Henry because you made him up while you were in a coma, you were holding onto that."
My heart stopped. "N-No. No. No. You're lying. I want Henry." I said as I began taking off the needles.
"Dylan, stop!" Mom said and ran to me. They all tried to stop me but I didn't care, I was losing my mind.
"No! I WANT HENRY! YOU ALL ARE LYING TO ME! HENRY DID NOTHING WRONG!"
"Nurse!" The Doctor called and a blonde nurse ran in. "Call Thomas and Carlos." He said and she ran to call them.
"Please call Henry, he's been crying!" I pleaded.
"It's gonna be fine, son. I promise."
Two male nurses ran in with the blonde nurse and as I struggled and tried to run, they held me down.
"The syringe." The doctor requested and the blond nurse went to get it.
"No! No! Mom please!" I cried.
"Sweetie, it's gonna be okay." Mom said as she cried. "They are trying to help."
"I want HENRY! HENRY! MOM! PLEASE STOP!! LET ME GO!!" I begged as I cried my eyes out, they all held me down. The two male nurses and Dad as the Doctor tries to stick the syringe in me. "Mommy please! Just get me Henry! I beg you!" I cried. I was panicking, there was no wah Henry was made up. There was no way he was just imaginary.
"Henry doesn't exist, son! What are you saying!!" Mom cried while Dad held her close to him.
The Doctor injected me with the syringe and I screamed, they all let go off me and I sobbed. "I need him." I said and tried to get up but I suddenly started feeling dizzy, I didn't have the strength to scream or fight anymore, I could feel myself falling asleep. "Please, just get me Henry." I pleaded silently, my eyes were so heavy and as I begged with my last strength,
I blacked out.
AUTHOR'S NOTE.

I did warn Dylan though
