Chapter 81
Dylan's P.O.V
"But you've gotta admit, that slap Quinn gave Johnathan was really....what's that word?" Jaxton asked.
"Outstanding?"
"Magnificent?"
Raven and I spoke at the same time and Jaxton nodded. "All of the above."
We chuckled.
"I'll be back, I'll go put the cake you brought into the fridge." I said as I picked up the apology cake Raven had brought. I went out of the room with a smile, down the stairs and to the kitchen. Once I got there, my smile disappeared. I didn't go to the fridge, no. I went to the trash, and I threw the cake in it.
I may have said I forgave her, but things weren't easily gonna be how they used to be. I wasn't just going to forget, and it was going to take time. A part of me wanted to do what i usually do. Maybe make them feel a bit like I feel. Make them an outcast, maybe? It would have been easier if I hadn't.....repented.
Henry wouldn't like that.
And they apologized. They only had one last chance now.
I went back to my room and fixed the smile back on my face, as I walked over to the bed and laid on it.
"Anyways, I gotta say Dylan." Raven spoke and looked at me with a smirk. "I noticed when you walked in that you have this certain...glow." She emphasized on the word.
I slowly arched my brow. "What glow?" I mocked her.
"The one you know, pregnant women gets or when someone finally gets laid after a period of time." She shrugged as she watched me.
"Pregnant women?" I arched my brow the more.
"Or when someone gets laid after a period of time." She repeated.
"Did you have sex with Henry?" Jaxton asked with a curious frown. "Oh my God. You did, didn't you?" He gasped. "You didn't come home last night which means...." He gasped again like the dramatic fanboy he was.
"Which means I was avoiding you both, and I knew Raven could come to my house." I said looked at Jaxton, and his smile slowly faded.
I also didn't come home last night because I don't think I could take being in the same room with someone who easily turned their back on me.
"But all that is in the past now. The truth is, things might not be the same, it will take time for us to heal, but, if you guys are gonna be my friends again, one wrong move and you're both dropped for good this time." I said while they just stared.
"I've done nothing but love and support you both the best way I could, and I never felt like I was appreciated. I wanna act like we are fine, and smile and whatever. But, I'm still a bit hurt by you both."
"I understand," Jaxton said softly. "You have every right to not want to speak to us again. We fucked up, big time. We let johnathan trick us and that sad that we let him get into our heads instead of believing our best friend who has always had our backs. I can't stop beating myself down for it because I betrayed our friendship and our trust. I thought I didn't really know you after everything he told me, and I got....I got a little scared." He swallowed, looking down at his fingers.
"Of me?"
He looked back up at me, hesitant to reply. "Yeah," he nodded. "I thought, what if he does that to me? What if he's just using me? He didn't tell me everything about his old school and who he really was. So, what if I'm just a pawn. And then I'd say 'he wouldn't do that to you'. I told Johnathan, he wasn't like that. But I don't know how I still believed him and how you just wanted me to be like a sidekick."
"I fought a thug for you."
"I know, I'm so stupid." Jaxton said and rose his head, trying to stop the tears from falling. "And I think to myself, after everything he's done for me. Everything. I left him, when he needed me. I left him. I'm sorry, but I understand not wanting me around you at the moment to heal. I could never forgive myself."
I listened, and I felt the tears come but I fought them back. Jaxton was an adult capable of making his own decisions so he gets half the blame, but I knew the kind of person Johnathan was. He literally convinced a kid to burn their cat because it had nine lives, and would come back to life back in Seattle. Johnathan was a master manipulator, and I couldn't blame anyone that came in contact with him for falling for his schemes.
I held Jaxton's hand, he was a mess and couldn't hold back his tears. "I understand, and it's okay, it's Johnathan, he's a shit head." I smiled softly at him. "You're a shithead too, but he's shitter."
Jaxton chuckled and sniffed, wiping his tears off with his other hand.
I let him know he was okay.
"And," Raven spoke, and I looked at her. Her face was already red and she was holding back tears.
"I don't even think I deserve your forgiveness. I messed up," she said, swallowing hard. "You've been there for me from the very beginning. Had my back in school and fought for my reputation, you were there for me at my family dinner when Johnathan and his family were there. You've been like a mother to us, to me. And I—" she paused, trying not to cry.
"And I didn't believe you. I let my anger take over, I let the fact that he had made me the most vulnerable, your fault. Projecting my fear and everything, because I believed you were the only savior I had."
The tears fell from her eyes.
"I am a terrible friend. An extremely terrible friend, and I don't deserve you, and I'm sorry."
"You're right," I said. "Nobody deserves me."
Raven looked away from me and wiped her tears, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"But," I held her hand with my other hand. "I'm still here, for you both." I said and looked at the both of them. "I can only do so much because I'm human at the end of the day. Let's try to fix things."
They both nodded.
Until we can't.
"Come here." I said and they came closer. We wrapped our hands around each other and just stayed there, hugging.
****
1 HOUR LATER.
"So, did you both fuck?" Raven asked.
We were all laying on my bed and looking up at the ceiling, a lollipop in Jaxton's mouth, while I was eating a snack and Raven chewing gum.
"No comment." I shrugged.
Raven gasped. "You sneaky whore!"
"Guys, please." I smirked. "Just because I went home with Henry last night and I don't have any outside bite marks and I got a little sore this morning and almost cried out my eyes last night on Henry's bed, doesn't mean I had sex with Henry." I said with a shrug and smirked afterwards.
Jaxton gasped louder this time and a huge smile appeared on his face, he looked excited and restless. "Oh My God!"
"I knew it!" Raven barked. "Oh my!" She smiled.
"It finally happened! DENRY FINALLY HAPPENED!"
"Keep your voice down!" I leaned to smack his head.
"Ow! Sorry! You can't blame me! Do you know how long it took for you guys to admit how you felt about each other? Raven help me with that,"
"For. Ever." She said, their eyes piercing me.
Jaxton nodded. "Exactly. And the next step had to be boyfriend but we thought the sex part was gonna happen in the next world. I mean, it finally happened. The whole fandom would be so excited." He gasped.
I blinked. "Fandom?"
He nodded. "Y'know? Me. Gwen. Raven. Jon. Me. Me and oh yeah, me."
I rolled my eyes. "Guys, seriously."
"Your ass must have been filled with cobwebs when he tried to get in." Raven said and shook her head in pity, I turned to her.
"Uh, what? I'm not the one who's asshole should be filled with cobwebs. It's Jaxton."
He snorted. "Please, you haven't had sex in what? Two years? I had sex with Vaughn a couple of months ago before the whole breakup slash rape thing but anyways, I am just a couple of months old sexless so you're the one with the spiderwebs."
"Fuck. You. Both. What about those who haven't had sex in....three years and more?"
"Oh dear," Raven sighed. "Their pussy is already dead, probably thinks the owner's dead."
Jaxton snickered. "True fact."
"You guys are crazy."
"So, tell me. What was it like?" Jaxton grinned.
"Did he last longer than an hour?"
"Is he huge down there?"
"Is he a werewolf kinda banger or a vampire kind?" Raven asked.
"Oh God, he's small isn't he?" Jaxton face filled with horror.
Raven shook her head. "Nah, I don't think so. I've heard the girls talk in the bathroom when they've got nothing to do and they say that Henry," she chuckled. "Is a b-"
"Okay!" I cut her off, shutting my eyes and raising my hands up a little. I opened my eyes and looked at Raven. "I do not want to know what those bitches at school thinks about my boyfriend's dick, thank you."
They both looked at each other and back at me with the same smile which was creepy.
"What?" I asked, wondering why they were looking at me that way.
"Boyfriend? He asked you already?" Jaxton grinned.
"So you two are a couple now?" Raven smirked.
"I didn't say boyfriend."
"You did." Jaxton chuckle slightly.
"No, I didn't."
Raven nodded. "You kinda did."
"I didn't and he hasn't asked."
"Well what are you waiting for? Ask him." Raven frowned.
"I don't know if he wants the whole name tag thing."
"Well make him want it, stupid." She looked at me like I really was stupid.
"You know what makes us the best kind of best friends and why we always come back to each other?"
"Is it cause...we're emotionally damage." Jaxton asked and I gave him a big smile.
"Correct. I mean think about it, three of us had daddy issues when we first met and we all almost got raped and experienced the terrifying feeling." I said with a smile. "And we hate the same set of people."
They both chuckled.
"That is sadly true." Jaxton nodded. "We are all messed up in some kinda way."
"Yeah now that I think about it, Dylan does have a point." She sighed. "We're more broken than broken ever was."
I chuckled.
And here I am, always having your backs while you guys doubt me easily.
"Anyhoo," she cleared her throat and looked at me. "My father wants to meet you again"
"Why? So he can bath me with acid?" I grimaced and shook my head. "No thanks."
She sighed. "No, he just wants to speak with you."
"I'm not gonna apologize to your father if that's what he wants and I meant every word."
"He just said to invite you for lunch which starts in about an hour and thirty minutes."
"Oh God!" I looked at her in horror. "He's gonna poison my food and lock me up in your basement, isn't he?" I gasped.
Raven gave me an 'are you stupid' look and palmed her forehead. "You're coming to lunch, both of you."
"Do I have to? I mean, your father's a little scary." Jaxton said innocently.
"Guys, you will follow me to my house and we will all have a nice time and we'll hear what my father has to say because trust me on his, he's not trying to rip your heart apart."
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "I guess we all die tonight."
"Dylan!"
"Your father is like an alpha, a legendary evil one. A big bad werewolf. No offense sweetheart." I stated.
"You spoke to him in a way no one has ever done in his life. I'd wear a bulletproof if I was you coming to his house just in case he decides to use his gun." Raven advised.
"Y-Your f-father has a gun?" Jaxton stuttered.
"Yeah, but it's not like anyone would suspect him and your bodies would be traced back to our home if found at all." She snorted. "There's nothing to worry about," she said and placed each hand on our shoulders. "It's all gonna be fine." Her voice didn't sound sincere one bit, they sounded cold and creepy like she was a freaking murderer and I swear there was a dark theme song playing somewhere in my head.
"I don't like that tone." Jaxton said and shook his head slowly.
"Yeah, me neither. I wouldn't be surprised if she's the one who cuts off our heads."
She just smirked, like the evil queen from snow white would have.
"Oh!" I quickly turned to Jaxton once I remembered something. "So, I heard you and Dominic kissed." I smirked.
He blinked severally and opened his mouth to deny cause I knew that was what he was about to do when I rose my hand to stop him from speaking.
"Don't even try to deny it," I shook my head. "Spill it."
"Well," he sighed. "It's true. I don't know what happened, I visited him and we were making dinner together. I had asked him to homecoming and one thing led to another and I don't know how or why but I found myself kissing him. I just...did it."
"Aw, he's finally accepting his feeling." I grinned.
He blushed. "Shut up." He muttered.
"So how was it?" Raven asked. "Horrible?"
"Actually, it wasn't bad at all. It was pretty good, his lips were soft and I didn't want to stop," he was smiling as of traveling back to the that moment. "It was-"
"I only asked for how it was and not the full description." Raven grimaced.
Jaxton shot her a look. "You're just jealous."
"Of Dominic? Please." She snorted. She didn't like him at all.
"Tell me you didn't run away after kissing him." I said, looking back at Jaxton.
He hesitated before answering. "I didn't run away after kissing him."
"You did, didn't you?"
He nodded. "I just told him I had to go and bolted out like the stupid human I was." He sighed, looking sad all of a sudden.
"You're not stupid, Jaxton." Raven said.
"He kinda is." I shrugged.
"He did what was right, he left."
"Yeah and that is stupid." I frowned at her and looked back at my confused looking male best friend. "Jax, you need to accept your feelings for Dominic and stop running away from it and...him."
"JaxJax, if you're not ready then don't rush into it."
I rolled my eyes. "Its been months! And you're only saying that because you don't like him."
Jaxton frowned. "You don't like him?"
She shrugged. "I...I do." Not convincing enough.
"But?" I arched my brow.
"He just seems like....someone I just can't trust."
"That is kinda rich coming from you," I laughed, and the room went silent.
Jaxton's cleared his throat. "He-He is a nice person, Raven. I mean, sure, he has this bad boy thing and has a jeep and is nineteen and a drop out and has father issues like all of us and his mom is dying of cancer but that doesn't mean he's not trustable."
"I like how he just summarized the guy's life." I said with a smile. "That there, is an A plus student and a guy defending his man."
Raven shot me a look and I wiggled my brows at her making her roll her eyes.
"How about you, Raven? Who have you been sleeping with?" Jaxton asked with furrowed brows. "I know there's a guy."
I looked at Raven and I swear she was shocked for a second but quickly masked it. "He's right. I can smell it all over you. What's his name and don't tell me he doesn't exist cause I swear to God I'll sacrifice you to my ancestors. They actually like redheads."
She looked at me for a good four seconds and shook her head. "I don't have a boyfriend if that's what you're asking cause I don't do boyfriends and I don't have a 'guy'. Period."
"What's his name? Is it Cody? I like that name."
"Ander is also a really nice name." Jaxton said with a smile.
She rolled her eyes for the billionth time. "Are you guys even listening to me? There is no guy. I have just been getting my sex from the best and I'm not gonna start telling you who I'm sleeping with."
I grimaced disgustingly. "I don't even wanna know who you're feeding your vagina too."
"Oh God!" Jaxton shut his eyes and sighed.
"Stop acting like a virgin who doesn't know what vagina is." I rolled my eyes this time.
"I know what va-" he trailed off. "You know what? I'm just gonna go downstairs and get myself a glass of water or something, anything than be here now." He said with a sigh, he got up from the bed and made his way out of the room.
"Vagina!" I screamed and he slammed the door shut making me laugh.
"You're gonna corrupt and creep him out." Raven chuckled.
I gasped dramatically. "What kind of best friend would I be," I clutched my chest. "If I don't corrupt and creep him out."
She giggled. "You're a case, Dylan."
"They call me the dark angel." I grinned and laid on my back. I studied her for a while. "There's really no guy?" I asked after some seconds of silence.
She looked back me and shrugged. "I am incapable of having a boyfriend, haven't you heard? It's all over town."
I chuckled. "Maybe it's the guy you're sleeping with. Is he hot?"
She curled her lip. "Of course. How can you even ask me that like you don't trust my judgement."
I laughed. "Forgive me your highness." She smiled. "Is he nice to you?"
"On bed? No. He's a beast."
I laughed the more. "That wasn't what I meant. Ew!"
"Well I had to share that detail."
"You're crazy." I said in between laughs. "Do I know him?"
"Nah, but I have a feeling you wouldn't like this one."
"Why do you say so?"
She shrugged. "Instinct."
"You like him?"
"When he's inside me and fucking my brains out? Yeah."
I laughed again. Oh God. "So, he's the only guy you've been sleeping with?"
She shook her head. "Nope. I can't buy candy from just one store." She smirked.
"You're a whore."
"Nope." She rose a finger. "A whore is someone who gives themselves to just anyone. My pussy is gold and isn't just given to anyone, dear best friend."
I gasped as if intrigued by what she said. "Oh, so that means you're a classy and advanced whore."
"You...are annoying."
"Thank you sweetie."
There was a guy and she was trying hard to deny it, you don't just say there's one and then say there's many after those answers.
She chuckled. "Now get the hell up and put on some clothes, we need to leave." She said as she looked at her phone. "Mom's expecting us already."
"You said an hour and a half."
"Maybe I lied."
I groaned.
"I'll be downstairs chatting with your entire family especially your super hot model looking father." She said and picked up her purse with a smile, got up from my bed and headed for the door.
I quickly sat up. "Do not seduce my father, Raven! He's married!"
She smirked at me. "Wouldn't it be fun if I was your stepmother?"
I gave her a smile. "Of course, and that way it'd be justified if I push you down the stairs, snap your neck, open you up and pull out your intestine with my hands and make a Christmas decoration with it. Beautiful."
She scrunched her nose in disgust as she stared at me and shook her head with a frustrated sigh "You just had to make it dark."
I flashed her a bigger smile. "Still wanna be my stepmother?"
She was out the door when she couldn't find the next words to say and probably decided I wasn't worth it.
I sighed and stood up. "Well then, time to go to the frosts again."
***
I ran downstairs all fully dressed. Big black pants and a black shirt with a Pearl around my neck. "Hey, I'm ready." I said as I walked to the dinning where everyone seemed to be. Mom and grandma were both talking about something with Jaxton and Raven, while all smiling. Grandma pulled Jaxton into a tight hug and kissed his cheek.
I just watched.
"Like I said," I placed my hands on my hips and forced a smile when no one looked my way. "I'm ready!" I repeated.
They finally all looked and it may or may not be because I rose my voice a little.
"Oh!" Jaxton looked at my mom. "We will be going to Raven's house."
"An occasion ?"
"Yeah, apparently her father wants to see me." I answered.
"The man in the video that looks like an ancient vampire that kills without mercy?" Mom asked curiously and arched her brow and I gave her a smile.
"Yeah, Dracula. You've met him."
"Oh." She looked at Raven and faked a smile. "He seems nice."
I chuckled softly.
"Be safe you three."
"I will," I walked over to grandma and kissed her cheek. "See you guys," I kissed grandpa's cheek. "Later." I finished as I kissed mom's cheek.
"We'll leave now." I said.
"Goodbye, Mr and Mrs. Dexwell." Raven nodded.
Mom gave a nod. "Before you all leave, I would like to say something." She said, folding her arms.
Everyone turned their attention to her and waited in silence.
"You all know I love you guys a lot because I think you are good kids and my son loves you both." She began, while I frowned, wondering where she was headed with this. "But, I will say one thing I didn't say when you all first walked into this house."
My frown deepened as we all exchanged looks.
"I love my son. And I love you all as his friends, but if you both hurt him again like he means nothing despite doing something and a lot for you guys because he cherishes you?"
"Mom," I called softly.
"Hold on, sweetie. I have to finish," she said. "If you guys hurt him, I won't hesitate to cut you guys off to protect my son's sanity. He's done his best to be a good friend to you both. Now the question is, are you gonna turn on him again?" Her brows flew. "Because if you do, you'll have to unfortunately answer to me, and I will not be as forgiving as my son. I may not know a lot that happens in your lives, but I always have an idea and when these pieces fix themselves and I find out one of you causes my baby pain, this town won't be big enough for both families." She said in the most icy tone she could muster.
And she was not bluffing. Raven and Jaxton gulped and both nodded.
"And she's not joking." Dad said as he joined us in the kitchen, and took out a glass cup, filling it with water. "We love Dylan a lot, and we love you guys too," he said and turned to us. "But, like I said; we love Dylan...a lot." He said and took a sip from his glass.
"I understand, and I really apologise for being a horrible friend. I will do everything I can to prove that I will not make such a mistake ever in my life. I was vulnerable and he met him at my lowest, and that is not an excuse to be so cruel to Dylan." Jaxton said. "I realised my mistakes, and I have acknowledged them, and I won't make them again."
Mom smiled at him. "Thank you, Jaxton."
"And I'm sorry too." Raven said. "I love Dylan, and I let my paranoia take over, knowing he would not do the things i thought he would. I let my trauma get in the way of me thinking and I apologise."
"You don't need to apologise for your trauma, no sweetie." Grandma Athena said. "We understand how trauma can be a fucking dickhead." She said and i smiled at her swearing. "But, what you should apologise for, is for being a shitty friend to someone to cared and was doing everything to want to help."
Raven nodded. "I understand, and I am sorry for being a shitty friend, Dylan."
I smiled. "It's okay, now let's go or we'll be late." I said to them. "I'll meet you guys outside." I said and with a nod, they left.
I waited and looked at my family with a smile on my face. "Thank you for doing that, it meant a lot."
"We love you, and we will be here for you no matter what." Dad said.
"I know I can't do anything to take back me slapping you during your fight with Jaxton, but I needed to set the record and make it clear that i may love them, but you? You are my son." Mom said.
"I do love you guys, you know?" I said, my hands in my pockets as I felt overwhelmed and felt like i was going to cry any minute. "Thank you."
"Of course, sweetie." Grams said, her smile warm and comforting.
"I'll leave now."
"Be back home early, please!" Mom said to our hearing.
"I will!" I nodded and walked out.
***
Raven packed her car and I got out with a sigh. "We're here, the twenty first century hell fire on earth." I announced as Jaxton got out slowly with his mouth open.
"You don't have to be dramatic, Dylan."
"Oh my God!" Jaxton exclaimed, his eyes almost out of their sockets like my first day. He was standing at my right and Raven at my left.
"If you think it's better outside, wait till you see the inside." I said as we walked towards the door.
"I feel like I'm not worthy to enter here." Jaxton said in a whisper.
"Don't we all," I said as we entered through the doors. "Well except for miss perfect here, she walks on gold." I whispered to him.
"I can hear you, you know?" Raven said and arched her brow at me. "I'm literally standing close to you."
"It's not like I insulted you or-" Jaxton gasped so loud that I got startled and flinched, stopping in my tracks.
"This place is....oh my God!" He walked ahead.
"Wow. Was this how you were when you came here that first time?"
I snorted. "What? Pfft. No. I behaved myself."
She hummed and we both took a couple or steps towards Jaxton. "This can't really be your first time here, I've thrown school parties in here."
He turned. "Yeah and you never invited me to any one of them because you said I wasn't in your league." Jaxton replied without hesitation and flashed her a smile.
I stopped walking and clapped my hands together cause I already felt it from a mile away....the awkwardness.
"Okay, that's not true." She placed her hands on her hips. "The league thing I mean."
Jaxton chuckled. "Raven, I remember a year ago you telling me that I wasn't in your league and will always be a low class deranged gay kid with straight A, when we were almost assigned as project partners which thankfully didn't happen then."
"Whaaaat? I n-never said that." She denied but it was clear that she did and Jaxton folded his arms.
"You also said I get things free in school cause I was gay and pitiful."
"I..." She blinked. "A-Are you sure it was me and not Quinn or one of those mean girls in the squad?"
"Redhead. Pretty. Devious. Mean. Head cheerleader and Eastwood's high very own hell in human form that puts on red lipstick?" His brows furrowed. "Yeah, maybe it's not you." He shook his head.
Raven just stared, this was a really awkward moment even for me and I didn't like this awkward tension.
"You think I'm pretty and devious?" She smiled and I rolled my eyes and grunted.
"Oh God! Really? That's what you grabbed out of the whole thing."
She cleared her throat. "Yeah, sorry. Look, Jaxton. I was a mean bitch then."
I fake coughed and she let out a little sigh. "I am a mean bitch," I smiled.
Much better.
"And I am sorry for the hurtful things that I said to you in the past. You are amazing and it had to take being friends with Dylan and bumping into you guys at the cinema to realize that which was....many years late, but you are not pathetic, you are awesome and I'm sorry for never inviting you to any of my parties." She smiled at him, Jaxton smiled back at her and walked over to her giving her a hug.
"I wouldn't have come anyways because I also despised you back then." He said and pulled away, I was all smiles.
"Good to know" she grinned. "And oh, you're not lower than I am."
"Thanks."
She nodded. "Except you don't live in a house like mine and some of my clothes can pay your tuition and-"
"And I thought this was supposed to be an apology but I guess we could also talk about how we can't afford the material things she has."
"I was joking, Jesus." She chuckled slightly.
"Your jokes are cruel." Jaxton said.
I nodded in agreement. "Not cool."
She rolled her eyes. "You boys are no fun." She said and continued walking but came to a halt when we spotted her mother walking towards us with a smile.
"I knew it had to be you guys when I heard voices." Her tresses of red hair were fit neatly into a stunning chignon, her cupid's-bow red lips reminded me of Raven's. Her hands which were intertwined were polished mauve nails, she was wearing a black fitted dress and silver heels to match her necklace.
"Have I ever told you I don't like your mother?" I asked Raven.
"I think you mentioned it once?"
"Good. She's terrible at her job." I muttered.
"Hello, Mrs. Frost. It's nice of you to have us here." Jaxton smiled sweetly at her.
"Aw, isn't he cute. It's my pleasure sweetheart." She said and looked at me. "Dylan, hi."
"Sorry I don't have any sweetness or strength to be cute since I wasted all my strength last night on someone's bed but let me know when you need some dark humor. I have about a hundred that would freak you out and make you want to pray for my deliverance." I flashed her a smile.
I could feel the tension from my best friends who stood by my sides. Raven's smile had totally gone fake and Jaxton's eyes looked like they were about to scream at me at any moment.
Mrs. Frost just looked at me, blinking before faking a smile as perfect as her daughter would. "Lunch's ready, come on." She said and walked ahead.
Raven shot me a look once she was gone "What did I say about you behaving?"
"You didn't say anything about the beyhives."
"Dylan!"
I sighed. "You need to be calm and well behaved. You don't wanna piss my parents off so you better behave yourself or it's gonna be bad, especially daddy." I repeated her words dryly.
"And you're failing already, oh goody!" Jaxton sarcastically cheered.
"Okay fine! I'll behave myself and try not be an asshole."
"Promise."
I gave Raven my biggest smile. "Don't you trust me?" I said and walked ahead.
"Dylan," Nixon called with a smile once we got to the dinning, I smiled and made my way towards him.
"Nixon, hi." I hugged him. "You look great." He always did anyways
"Thanks." He chuckled and pulled away. "You don't look bad. How are you?"
"No broken bones and not in jail. Fine, I'd say."
He chuckled. "Um, I want to thank you personally for what you did for my sister. I heard about it and um, thank you so much. I wish I could have been there to break all his bones and crush his windpipe so he'd never be able to have sex ever."
I chuckled and patted his shoulder. "I would have traded my dick for a vagina just to see that happen."
He laughed. "You have a nice sense of humor."
"Dylan, stop flirting with my brother."
I turned to her. "I'm not and even if I was, it's only fair."
Nixon chuckled. "Well, I'm straight so."
I gasped and then laughed. "Oh my God, Henry said the same thing."
Jaxton held back his laugh and shook his head at me.
Raven snorted. "Well this one knows how to make you question your sexuality." She said and pulled me away from Nixon like I was trying to seduce him when I wasn't. Did it look like that?
"Well, She's lucky to have you." He smiled at me.
"And I'm also lucky to have that redhead witch for a best friend."
He laughed.
"Nixon, meet Jaxton. My other best friend." Raven introduced.
"Hi." Nixon waved at him.
"Hello." Jaxton gave him a small smile. "It's nice to finally meet you."
He nodded. "You too."
"Okay, shall we all sit before my husband comes downstairs?" Mrs. Frost asked and we all sat down the same way we walked in.
Raven at my left and Jaxton at my right. Mrs. Frost was sitting across Raven where she sat and Nixon across me. The only space left was the one who the one in charge seemed to sit on. Next to Raven and Mrs. Frost.
We heard footsteps behind us and soon enough that empty seat got occupied with Raven's father who had a suit on. Of course he wears a suit at home.
I didn't smile, I didn't like the way he treated her and I wasn't gonna act happy now that the cat was out of the bag.
"Uh, thank you boys for coming."
"It's an honor."
"Did we have any choice." I shrugged.
Jaxton and I had spoken at the same time.
Mr. Frost looked at me and cleared his throat. Mrs. Frost signaled for a familiar woman to serve the food. 'Amelia'. I smiled at her and she smiled back as she served the food. The food on the table was much , they were all different kinds of dishes and they looked tasty.
Everyone started eating and I just stared at my food. I'm not trying to be rude but this man is all powerful, for all I know he could even be the head of the mafia and I had spoken to him like I gave no fucks which I didn't last night and then the next day he invites me over and I'm served food? Come on, would I really eat this?
"Dylan, stop acting like a brat." Raven scolded in a whisper.
"I'm not eating this! What if your parents poisoned this?"
She rolled her eyes. "And why would they do that?"
I gave her a look of disbelief. "Oh I don't know but I'm sure it had nothing to do with last night's incident." I whisper yelled.
"Dylan, eat and stop embarrassing me!" Jaxton whisper yelled and I looked at him.
"Have you tasted that?"
"Yes, and I'm not dead." He still faked a smile.
"Yet." I added.
Mrs. Frost cleared her throat and we all looked at her. "Is...everything okay?"
"Yes." We all chorused. Raven gave me a warning glare and I sighed and started to eat, it was good actually but who knows I might just die when I get home.
"So um, Dylan." Mr. Frost spoke, his voice husky and powerful.
"Hmm?" I looked at him.
"I know you must be wondering why I asked you here."
"If you're gonna ask me to apologize to you about what I said last night then I can't. I meant every word and I don't care what happens, but it's the truth and the truth hurts but that's life. You've gotta deal with it." I shrugged.
"Oh dearie." Jaxton quickly took a sip from his class to fill his mouth up.
The table was silent now, Raven placed her elbow on the table and placed her hand on her forehead as if I was giving her a headache.
Mr. Frost just stared at me blankly, I couldn't read his eyes so I looked away. "Why don't you follow me, Dylan." He said and wiped his mouth with the napkin and dropped it before standing.
"F-Follow you where?" I blinked severally.
"My study." He said and began walking.
The table was in awkward silence.
"You just had to do it." Raven threw her hands up.
Mrs. Frost gently took a sip from her glass. "He isn't all that bad." She said with a little smile.
"I hope you get out alive." Jaxton said softly.
I got up slowly and whispered to Jaxton immediately. "If I'm not out in ten minutes, call the cops." I said and followed.
I followed him into a room I assume was his study. Once I was in, the security guy at the entrance shut the door gently. The room was really big, on the wall was a huge photo frame of the entire Frost family standing and doing what they could do best....looking rich. There were lots of books, well arranged. Paper documents. Two brown leather couches and it wasn't really bright in here. He had a fireplace, and the curtains looked very vintage. There was a huge window further to my right and I chose that as my escape route in case anything was to happen, and I don't care if I break my bones.
He walked over to his desk which had a laptop on it, two pens that looked expensive, I could use one of them to stab him in the neck...or hand. For lesser damage. A book, a cigar box and some documents also laid on the table. There was also a smaller photo frame of the entire Frost's on his desk and this was another picture.
I just stood there like the awkward being I was, feeling like I didn't fit here cause I didn't and as much as I admired this room, I wanted to be out of here.
"I'm not asking you to apologize." Mr. Frost said, his voice deep as fuck as he motioned for me to take the seat across him and I did.
"You're not?" I frowned.
He didn't repeat himself and just sat down facing me. "What you said was...right, no doubt. I didn't call you here to murder you like you think or ask my security to beat you to unconsciousness." He said blankly.
I blinked "O-Oh, I didn't think you'd kill m-"
"You didn't touched your food yet cause you thought yours got poisoned, you've been staring at that window for long which means you've already figured out how to get the hell out of here in case i actually wanna kill you which is just absurd and I hope you're seriously not thinking of using that pen to stab me?" He said plainly with an arched brow, my eyes widen. He had figured it all out, how the fuck did he do that? How did he know?
I blinked severally. "H-How did y-you-"
"I'm very observant."
"Then how couldn't you see that Johnathan and his family were cruel and know their intentions?"
"Cause I was stupid."
My brows furrowed at the confession. "I couldn't agree more." I smiled.
He shot me a look and I cleared my throat.
"I was too into my work, just into partnering with the goddamn smiths, I didn't know my daughter was going through pain. One caused by that dipshit that I let in here. I can't believe i actually let that bastard into my house along with his parents which happens to be the biggest mistake I've ever made."
"I completely agree."
"I should have known something was wrong when George kept trying to get me to stop you from seeing Raven."
I scoffed. "That incompetent asshole."
"I don't like you Dylan, I never did. I tried to stop Raven from being friends with you numerous times because I always got this bad vibe from you, like wherever you are there's trouble."
I nodded and looked down at my hands. "What can I say? I am attractive." I said and looked up at him.
"This is the second time you're appearing on the news."
"It's not my fault that I'm becoming famous?"
"Stop trying to act all sassy here, boy, and let me finish." He deadpanned and I nodded immediately.
"Right." I muttered. "Please carry on, sir."
"I didn't trust you but it turned out to me that the times you've been on TV was to save your friends, my daughter included. You try to being justice and I must admit that I admire you for that." He said and I smiled a little.
"I cannot thank you enough for what you've done, Dylan. I owe you a lot for saving my daughter. I didn't trust her judgment when she called you her best friend and stayed with you at the hospital till about two in the morning." He emphasized with his hands, and looked like it made no sense why she stayed.
"But now? I think I can trust you to be around her. To keep her safe. She's had her share of bad friends, I admit that I haven't been the best father and I uh...I guess what I'm trying to say is um...I'm uh...you know?"
"No, I don't know." I shook my head.
He scowled at me. "I'm s...I'm sorry I judged you and I thank you for being there for my daughter."
I just stared at him, didn't he know how to say sorry and mean it? Woah. "Uh, don't tell me you don't know how to say sorry."
"Dylan."
"Sorry, I'll mind my business." I faked a smile. "Um, thank you, Mr. Frost for...apologising. Your daughter is not in my good books, I'm not going to lie to you. She never fails to doubt me like her father does and honestly, it hurts how she did what she did. I did say I have forgiven her, but I didn't say anything about forgetting, after all, you always have to be ready, right?"
He nodded in agreement.
"Raven's my friend, so you can count on me being there for her, she has let me down a couple of times but when someone you care about is in trouble, you just go out of your way to help that person no matter what. Both of them are like siblings to me, and I'd do anything for them even when it is not the same. So, I guess you can say she is safe with me."
"I am sorry about Raven."
"It's okay," I shrugged. "Don't apologize for her."
He nodded and finally smiled a little and my brows shot up. "Did you just smile? Oh wow, Jesus does exist."
That smile vanished more than the speed of light and a scowl took over. "Are you always like this?"
"I'm actually a sweetheart with a horn and a tail."
"Thankfully you're gay so that means I can trust you around her even with this attitude."
"Yeah, boobs do freak me out sometimes."
Mr. Frost tried not to smile.
He tried....really hard.
"Anyways, I guess we should join the others." He said and stood up.
I nodded and stood up as well.
"Oh and uh," he walked towards me, his face and everything about him intimidating and cold. "Don't talk to me the way you did last night. Ever. Okay?" He said as he patted my shoulder. I could hear the icy warning in his voice and anyone in my shoes would pee in their pants but I couldn't disgrace myself now and had to be a man.
I gulped and nodded like I had no control over my head. "Yup."
"Good." He smiled, not that kinda real friendly smile. The other kind of scary, 'I'm glad you understand or I'll cut your balls off' kinda smile.
"So, Mr. Frost."
"Hmm?"
"Now that we're friends now," I puckered my brows. "Can I call you Dunk? Bro? Budd-"
"No." He cut me off harshly.
"How about-"
He glared at me and I quickly shut up and gave him a smile. "Mr. Frost sounds good, that's much better."
He turned and began walking towards his door, I followed and once we were out we heard shouting. A frown appeared on my face, wondering what happened. I looked at Mr. Frost and he looked back at me with the same confused look I had.
"What the hell is going on?" He asked as he walked not waiting for his bodyguards to answer. I followed and we walked straight to the hall, joining the rest who stood together.
"....if you think I'm gonna do that then you're insane." Mrs. Frost angrily said, once we joined them I finally saw who was causing all that commotion.
The mother of the rapist.
"He didn't even rape her!" Daphne said sternly, for a worried mother she was neatly dressed and clouded with makeup. "He was being friendly to her and you know it. He cared for her. You have to get him out, Beatrice!" She said with authority.
"Wow." I muttered as I folded my arms and looked at her like she was crazy. Was this the formula she was gonna use?
Raven scoffed. "I almost got raped? And if that means love or friendship in your family then you all are sick and need help."
"You don't come into my house and threaten me, Daphne." Mrs. Frost snarled.
"Yeah, you're actually ordering them to free your son instead of pleading. In my book that doesn't work, not that the pleading would since your son puts the r in rapist." Jaxton said.
"Shut up, kid." Daphne shot him a look.
"Choke." Jaxton retorted.
"I want you out of my house." Mr. Frost spoke, his voice hoarse as he glared at her, bringing her attention to him. "I don't want any associations with anyone related to a rapist, one who almost RAPED MY DAUGHTER! Your son. Is going to rot in jail." He emphasised, mad as hell. "I will make sure of it.
"Dunk, you can't possibly believe h-"
He rose his hand to stop her from speaking and just glared daggers at her. "Get out or I'll have them throw you out and tell your husband that the deal's off!"
Daphne shook her head continuously. "It's a mistake, he didn't try to rape her. They're just against him and hate him! They framed him and you know it."
I chuckled. "Wow, even after all the proof. Like mother like son."
Her eyes landed on me and they glowed. "You forbidden fruit! This is all your fault!" She roared.
I smiled. "I don't wanna take all the credit, half of it should go to your son and the crew."
"I told that boy to stay away from a curse like yourself. You and your entire family are nothing but bad news. A fucking plague! You ruined his life and I'll get back at you."
"Listen here, D-"
"No no," I stopped Mrs. Frost from defending me. "I can handle her." I said and took a step towards her. "All I've been hearing since I came to Eastwood is people telling me they'll ruin me and get back to me and all that boring shit twitter stans do when we don't like their faves. You know, I see where your son got that from. You. And guess what?" I shrugged.
"'m still alive, I still have white hair and I'm still looking fabulous without spending on skincare. I'm happier than I could have ever been." I grinned. "You see, your son deserves to be where he is now because that's where his kinds are. The reason your son has been a complete waste of sperm in the last eighteen years is because he came from you. Hell, if you were my mother, I'd have slit my own wrists. You are a shitty mother, a fucking oxygen thief. You see as worthless as they come, Daphne." I chuckled.
"And," I took another step towards her until I was in front of her, and whispered. "It would do the world a great deal if you had just stopped existing."
"You Incel."
"Ma'am, don't get me wrong." I sighed. "I haven't insulted you here, all I have done is describe you. You should know what I and my 'plague family' can do. You should know me so well, we lived in the same town and you know that just as much as your son is vile, so am I." I laughed, she swallowed.
"I ruined your husband's chance of becoming mayor, imagine what I could do to you at this time and day." I hissed.
"Your boy's personality is a true shame to the world. I had promised to do everything in my power to put that shameless scoundrel who is your son behind bars and I did. You should have come here with flowers and a box of chocolate and a thank you card, but I guess not."
"You are s-"
"Shut the fuck up, he's not done." Jaxton cut in, folding his arms.
" I hate being interrupted, Ms. Smith." I told her. She looked shocked.
"Your son has done horrible things and you always chose to stay by his side and support his evil doings? Why?"
"He's not a bad person, you are."
"When my mom approached you to tell you about how he tried to make my life shit, you said I brought it upon myself . Your son tried to have his way with me and i am not the only one, and I can't let anyone feel how I felt then. He's a dirty filthy being but what did I expect? You're his mother. You are a living mistake, so why wouldn't Johnathan be this way? You failed as a mother and your husband failed as a father and this is what you get for your mistakes."
She rose her hand to hit me but it was caught midair by a stronger arm. Nixon. He just glared at her, his eyes like bullets piercing through her skin.
"Do not even think about it, or you will be joining your pathetic son in jail."
"You come into my house and you try to harass us?." Mrs. Frost scowled. "I really should do you a favor of meeting your son by letting you sleep in jail as well, you pathetic excuse of a mother."
Daphne looked at Beatrice as if shocked to hear these words. "Beatrice."
"Sweetheart, don't even mention my name." Beatrice said as she pulled Raven close to her. "You're gonna stain it."
"I want this woman dragged out of my house like the dirt she is." Mr. Frost said in the calmest tone, despite angry. "And if she ever steps foot in this house, you all will be fired and I mean it."
Three huge guys in black suits all walked towards her, Daphne quickly looked behind her. "Don't touch me! I know my way out." She said and turned back to us. "You've made a mistake. All of you." She said and tried to pull her hand away from Nixon's hold but he just held tighter and squeezed making her wince in pain.
"Let go off my hand!" She sneered.
"I hate people who bully my sister and....her friends. I hate people like you who defend rapists." His eyes said the same time. "If I ever set my eyes on you ever again, I'll kill you."
"Get your hand off!" She cried. "My husband will ruin you all."
"And where's your husband? Shouldn't he be supporting you and sharing your misery with you?" Nixon taunted as he titled his head to the side making me smirk.
Hot.
"Fuck you!"
"No thanks, you're gross." He said and finally let her go. She rubbed her arm and glared at everyone of us.
"Y'all just watch, he'll get out, I promise."
"Good luck failing." I waved.
She scowled, fixed her hair.
"I said, drag her out." Mr. Frost said. And the guards did as he said, dragging her while she screamed insults at us.
"Such a flop." I scoffed.
Mrs. Frost sighed.
"You okay?" Nixon asked me.
"Never better." I smiled.
"Can't believe I hung out with her and went shopping with that thing." Mrs. Frost said and shook her head.
Raven walked over to me and hugged me tight in front of everyone. "Thank you."
"As long as we're here killer frost, you've not nothing to worry about."
Mrs. Frost rubbed her back. "You've got good friends, Raven." She said and smiled sweetly at Jaxton. "I like this one cause he's cute," Jaxton blushed as she looked at me. "And I like this one cause he's got sass and makes it look sexy."
"Mom!" Raven scolded.
Nixon and Jaxton laughed.
"I like your mom now." I grinned.
"I guess it's safe to say, you're welcome here anytime and any day." Mr. Frost said to me.
I nodded. "Thank you, bestie."
"Don't." He shook his head and walked away.
I smiled.
Nixon gave his sister a hug with a smile. "I like your friends."
"I told you they were cool." She said softly.
"I like you too, Nixon." I smiled at him.
He chuckled. "See you guys at the table." He said and walked back to the dinning, I suppose.
Raven smiled at Jaxton and I. "Thank you both so much."
"For what? Putting that woman in her place?" I asked.
"Yeah, it's totally our job so you shouldn't thank us over nothing." Jaxton shrugged. "I mean, Dylan did most of the spiritual killing so maybe don't thank me, thank him."
"She's a fucking dumb bitch for coming here."
"True." Jaxton agreed.
"She's good at masking herself." Raven said with a sigh.
"That's what the Smiths do."
"Uh, about my dad. Did he...say anything awful? I mean he said he just wanted to come to terms with you."
I nodded. "Oh, he's not that bad. Scary? Yes. He did say sorry."
Her eyes widen. "Seriously?"
I nodded. "He actually did."
"My father never does that, I mean he apologized to me yesterday but to other people?."
"I could tell. It was a little hard for the guy."
She laughed. "I can imagine."
"Guys, I'm still hungry." Jaxton whined.
"You don't even get fat. You both don't." Raven said as we began walking back to the dinning.
"It's our gayness, it's extra ordinary. It burns down calories." I replied.
She chuckled. "If that's an invitation for me to join your clique then no, one of us has to be straight."
I gasped dramatically. "Raven! That's an insult to all the lesbians who are friends with gay guys."
"Dylan, don't twist my words!"
"He kinda has a point." Jaxton shrugged.
"Fuck you both."
Jax and I snickered.
I guess the Frosts aren't as bad as I thought. This day had to be one of the best days.
But I knew Daphne well, and if she vowed to get Johnathan out then she was gonna find a way to do it and I needed to be alert.

Oh and I seem to have forgotten Jaxton sister's name, forgotten for a while now that's why I don't really shine any light on her character cause I don't know what to call her and I'm sure I talked about her in one of the chapters but can't remember which and what her name was so if you remember, please tell me.
