Chapter 33

Dylan's POV

"They should have expelled him!" Mom said angrily as she massaged my arm.

"They suspended him, mom." I sighed

"That's not enough."

She was really pissed and I understood her, every mother would react the way she did. I didn't think she'd be home when I got back because she was supposed to be at work but at the moment, she had come home to change for a meeting.

"I should take him to court for trying to kill my baby"

"Mom." I sighed tiredly.

"What?" She replied a little too quickly. "I mean if Vaughn can be in jail why not Eric?"

"You didn't even let me finish!" I said as my brows rose.

"Sorry. Speak" She said and stopped massaging.

"I was gonna say you should make sure he knows not to drop the soap because some thirsty men might want a little bite." I said with a smile.

I was expecting a smack at the back of my head and her glaring at me right after she says 'dont joke about such ' but that wasn't the case and instead she snorted.

"You know what, that's not a bad idea, I'll make a call now and make sure they transfer some people to his cell." she said and stood up, I thought she was kidding but then she walked to her bag and took out her phone.

"MOM!" I exclaimed with widen eyes.

"What?" She yelled back.

"I was kidding. You aren't honestly thinking of doing that, right? I hate the guy but i wouldn't wish such shit on anyone, not even my enemy, well except if it was J-"

"Dylan, I am not a complete villain." Mom said and rolled her eyes. "I'm about to call your principal."

"You called him twice already."

"And I haven't made my point yet." She retorted.

"You said you were gonna rip his head off and put it on the flag stand because this was done in a school that he promised doesn't have kids who bully." I reminded her.

"He lied to me and well its not gonna be on the flag anymore. I think the entrance would better" she said as she dialed his number while walking out of my room.

I shook my head with a sigh, this woman was crazy as fuck. As much as I tried to act like I was okay and that he got what he deserved. I couldn't still get the horrible deed he did out of my head.

What a monster.

My arm was getting way better, mom massages it every night before bed and whenever she can but ends up fixing it in a bandage. I could move my arm now, not perfectly but I think I can do a handshake and give a half bitch slap with it. Half.

I shut my door and walked into the bathroom, i needed a shower. I took off my clothes and stepped under the shower, as the water poured down my face, all the flashes came rushing into my head like I was replaying a scene of Constantine over and over, except without the summoning of demons but boy did we have a real agent of darkness in our school. He's gone for now though.

I could see myself at the library, I could remember why I was moody that day and how my best friends, sorry ex best friends came in searching for me and how I stupidly told half of the school about Isaac and why I was having this weird feeling of continuous hate for Henry, cause I thought he pushed me.

All the memories came rushing back into my head and I realized that I put that memory on pause because I wanted it to be an accident so bad and  I didn't try or want to know about it and just pushed it aside. Knowing my pusher was the key to unlocking a not needed memory.

I opened my eyes quickly once I saw henry carrying me through the hall in a rush. He did carry me. Oh my God, they didn't lie. I could hear him scream for people to leave the way, not just him.

"Its gonna be okay"

I could hear his voice in my head, it was calm, it was reassuring, it was smooth and comforting and I hated that it was his.

Henry has been there for me these past few days, he's been a jerk. Yes. But he's been a good guy as well, helping me try to find the devil's messenger and trying to make me feel better even though he was being a pain in the ass.

Bitch was the title he calls me with all the time, and sometimes I just wanna smack him or push him right in front of a moving train.

When I was done, I came out of my bathroom with my towel around my waist and was heading to my closet when I let it loose and started drying my hair. My door clicked and my heart skipped a beat, someone was gonna see my nakedness. With the gift of savitar growing in me, I rapidly covered mini me and although I still tried to tie the towel fully I couldn't because I was scared that half of my life source would show and the bitch walked right in while saying something but I caught her off.

"Jesus mom. You don't just walk into a person's room like that without knocking. Only Beyonce has the permission to do so"

She arched her perfectly carved brow at me and crossed her arms. "I gave birth to you and I saw your nakedness for years."

"And did that get you a chair close to Queen Elizabeth?" I sarcastically questioned.

"You're not that special sweetie" she flashed me a smile.

I gave a smile as well. "Well I got that from you. Kids get things from their parents."

Mom huffed and shook her head. "And that just proves I gave birth to a stupid human being."

I scowled at her.

"Wipe that off your face. I am your mother."

"Is that your excuse?" My brow rose as well "You saw toddler Dylan's nakedness and that was a long time ago. I wanna put on some clothes and you staring like that could tear this towel of mine. Your eyes are like.....lasers"  I said feeling more uncomfortable.

"More like Xray vision" she quivered her lips. "That's how I knew to date your dad, cause I could already see how big his d-"

"MOM!!" I was now totally disgusted, why did she feel the need to want to tell me this. "Ew. I don't need to know about that. Just please leave."

"I was just trying to explain to you what my super powers were." she shrugged.

"I-I get it" I gave her a nod.

"I'm not done talking."

"Then just turn around."

"This is ridiculous. I was bathing you two weeks ago when you fell."

"And I love you for that but it was also embarrassing."

She sighed. "If someone told me my kid would forbid me from seeing his penis I would have taken a photo of him growing up and naked as well and threaten to post it online if he ever does that." she said as she turned, still folding her arms.

"You would do that?" My eyes popped. What kind of a woman is she?

"It seems you still don't know your mother."

"The queen of hell?" I pretended to give it a thought. "Yeah I came out of her vagina."

"Hurry up." She sighed.

"Say what you wanna say while I dress up." I said as I slowly approached my closet.

"I have to leave now, the meeting starts in ten minutes. I just received a call." she said as I put on a fresh new black boxers.

"Okay?"

"I wanted to know if you'd be okay alone in the house."

"Sure" I said still looking at her to make sure I know when she tries to turn and betray me. I took out my brown pants and gently put it on.

"Are you sure? You just found out that you were pushed and didn't trip. You sure you don't want me to stay?"

I could sense the worry in her voice and I just smiled. "Mom. I'm fine"

"You could call henry to come over and watch you."

Over my dead body.

"I don't need a baby sitter mother and I thought I told you we weren't friends?" I said as I put on a white short's sleeve shirt.

"He seems like a nice kid."

I thought about it for a second. "Sometimes" I said and walked towards her, I wrapped my arms around her and placed my head on her shoulder. "I'll be fine momma."

"You sure?" She asked as she placed her hand on mine.

I nodded and she turned.

"If you need me or anything. My number should be on speed dial"

"Yes mom. Now go. You're gonna be late for that meeting."

"I love you sweetie."

"Love you mom." I beamed.

She kissed my cheek and smiled warmly. "I'm gonna press charges on that Eric kid." She said before she exited my room and closed the door behind her, not giving me a chance to say anything.

I sighed and walked over to my bed, I laid on it lazily and stared up at the ceiling with a sigh.

Why am I not happ-

My thoughts were interrupted my a loud vibration, which was coming from my phone. I tilted my head and looked at my cellphone which was on my drawer right before I grabbed it.  I opened the text message which was from a number that I didn't recognize, and wasn't saved on my cellphone either, an unknown number.

MEET ME AT HEAVEN ON EARTH'S
SMOOTHIE SHOP.
-H

H?

That was definitely Henry. Why did he want me at HOE smoothie shop now? I had not replied.  Did he think I'd just show up cause he said so?

Pfft.

Should I go?

I found myself asking the one person I trusted completely. Myself.

I didn't want to be alone anyways but did I really want to go meet this proud, bipolar jerk who fought for me at school?

Sometimes I couldn't tell if it was mood swings or if he had a split personality that I didn't know of.

I sighed and replied afterwards.  I stood up from my bed lazily, held my phone and was about to leave my room when I realized I needed to change at least. I turned back and took off my pants, changing into a high waist black palazzo pants and a white long shirt with some buttons undone.

***
Heading to the location, I used my map as I wasn't completely familiar with everywhere and plus I was kinda broke. I didn't have cash on me and didn't ask my dear mother before she left home. So I had to use my legs. It wasn't long before i spotted the huge pretty sign.

HEAVEN ON EARTH
smoothie shop.

I smiled as I approached it. I looked at the time on my phone, I was ten minutes late and I didn't really care. It'd be nice to have him wait for me at least.  As I walked through those doors, I looked around and there was no sign of the motherfucker.

"Shit." I muttered. "He's not even here?" I was getting pissed, I walked over to the same booth we sat on the last time and sat on it with a frustrated sigh.

I hate waiting.

I decided to call the Fucktard and saved his number from the text message, dialling it, but he wasn't answering and it made things worse. I eventually decided to wait and to pass time, I started playing the endless game- candy crush on my cellphone and at some point, I got bored. I checked the time and sighed. He's fifteen minutes late, that means he's not in the bathroom.

Next time, Dylan, show up late.

"Fuck you, Henry." I said angrily and stood up, I was about to leave when I almost bumped into someone but pulled back

The boy kept staring at me like he was tryna remember something and I just found it weird.

"Stop that, It's not cute." I said with a soured look.

"Sorry." He gave an awkward chuckle, he had black hair and was the same height as me, okay maybe an inch taller. He had brown eyes and looked fit , he had a sharp jaw and was fucking handsome. "I just...its just..."

"Spit it out, Cyborg." I said with a straight face, referring to his eyepatch.

"Its just, you look familiar. I think i might have seen you somewhere before."

"Yup, that's why I don't go there anymore." I said with a smile and walked past him.

"I'm Joseph." I heard him turn and I did the same.

"I'm Pharaoh, but you don't see me telling everyone that."

He chuckled. "Feisty"

"More like thirsty"

I really was.

"I could buy you a-"

"No, thank you, Joe." I cut him off and just then the bell on the entrance door jingled. I turned and saw Henry walk in looking all classy and moneylike. He was wearing some black pants, a black turtle neck and a black leather jacket. His hair smoothened. God, this bastard was hot. And even with the bruises on his face, he still looked super perfect.

Henry looked over at me and smiled.

"Is that your boyfriend?" Joseph asked.

"Over my dead body." I replied, still staring at the badboy, before I turned to him. "And what makes you think I'm gay? I could be straight, you know?"

Joseph gave me a look and laughed. "Sure. But I decided to try my luck with the hottest guy I've ever seen." He shrugged.

I ended up smiling, a real one.

"Are you...Are you hitting on me?"

"Maybe." Joseph smirked. "If I said yes, could I have your number?"

"That's not how it works." I replied while shaking my head.

He was cute though, and then Henry appeared, walking past Joseph and standing beside me. .

"Hey babe" Henry said

Um..what?

My eyes bulged. "Huh?"

He placed his hand around my waist and brought me closer to him. Shit.

I was feeling real hot now, I looked at his hand which was around my waist.

Holding my breath-

"I thought you said he's not your boyfriend?"

I shook my head. "He's not my-"

"What's going on?" Henry looked down at me and I glared at him, he just smirked. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting."

"What are you doing?" I asked in an angry whisper but he just smirked evilly.

I hate you.

"Get your hands off me" I said through gritted teeth.

"Is he troubling you babe?" Henry asked, totally ignoring me. When he said the word 'babe', my heart started to beat real fast.

"Henry, I-"

I trailed off once I felt him kiss my forehead.

"I'm sorry bro. I didn't know he was taken." The guy gave a sad chuckle and I felt bad for the hottie.

"Well, he is." Henry retorted. The guy just gave a weak smile and walked away. I jerked myself away from Henry.

"Are you mad? What was that all about?" I asked while blinking severally and trying to keep my cool.

"What? I just saved you." He chuckled.

"Yeah, cause he was a kidnapper. Gee thanks." I replied sarcastically "First you show up late and then you block my shine. What if that was my soulmate."

He snorted. "That guy? No way"

"I can't believe you did that." I punched his chest softly. "I was about to leave anyways." I said while scowling at him.

"Look, I'm sorry okay. My bike failed me. It refused to start up and I had to make sure she was fine."

"What about your car?" I folded my arms.

"She's not home."

"Why didn't you just call or text and say you're gonna be late."

"I wanted to make an entrance." He smirked. "You sure do love an entrance, don't you?"

"I hate you." I said and walked back to the booth, sitting down.

"Don't care." He said and sat across me.

"You just chased away my soulmate."

"Do you even remember his name?"

"Yes!"

No.

"Okay," he nodded. "So, tell me what that guy's name was."

Shit. What was it? Daniel? Jacob? Esau? It has to do with the bible.

"C-Cain. Cain junior" I replied. He wouldn't know whom that guy was.

What came out of his mouth next was a chortle and boy he didn't seem like he was gonna stop and I didn't want him to, it was relaxing, but I didn't understand why he was laughing.

"What?"

"That's Joseph." He was still laughing

Joseph! That's the name!!

"H-How did you know?"

"He's the son of the owner of this place, dummy."

"Shit." I cursed under my breath. "So, I'll be seeing him more often? Great." I sighed with sarcasm. "How'd you know he's gay?"

"Cause he had a crush on me." Henry shrugged.

Wow.

"Poor guy."

"Sad for him" he said blankly.

"How's your eye?" I asked and pointed at the bruise real close to his eye.

"I've had worse" he said and tilted his head. "That question should be for Eric though."

"I uh..thank you" I said, awkwardly.

"For what?" He asked, confused.

"For what you did at school, doofus" I said and looked down at my fingers. "I mean I could have handled it but still,l

"Its alright." He smiled. "No bandaged arm?." He asked pointing at it.

"It's healing." I answered.

"Well, that's bad"

"Not as bad as your face, Randy Orton."

"You hungry?" He asked after laughing.

"N-" I didn't finish what I was about to say when my stomach growled.

Shit! Fuck you stomach!

He cocked his brow at me and I glared.

"Don't even dare."

"Sorry" he rose his hand up in surrender and called out to one of the waitresses.

"Uh, hi. I will have some French fries and a raspberry-beet smoothie" he winked at the blond lady and I could see her cheeks turn pink a little.

"Oh." She tucked her hair behind her ear and bit her bottom lip. "Well then, handsome, I will get you just that•

"Um," I rose my hand. "Hi, I am also here. There are actually two people on this table, so let me know when you are ready for mine." I said to her since she wouldn't stop looking at Henry.

"Oh, my bad, sorry." she giggled, still not taking her eyes off Henry.  "What would you like?" She finally turned to me.

"I'll have a cheese burger and a  strawberry-beet smoothie" I smiled at the stupid bitch that kept stealing glances of Henry.

"okay" she nodded as she wrote it down, she turned to Henry and rose her skirt a little bit higher, making me cock my brows at her.

"—with no herpes please"  I added and her smile slowly disappeared as she looked at me.

"Excuse me?"

"Hmm?"

She scoffed and stormed off angrily while I just smiled.

"Seriously?" Henry cocked his brow at me.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, but I just...we are here together..t-to, you know? Then she raises her skirt up? I just-"

"Not an excuse."

"I don't even like her."

"Why?"

Cause I don't want her staring at you.

I shrugged in a 'I don't know' way.  "Wait, why am I here?"

"I wanted to make sure you were okay."

"You have a bruised face."

"I'm fine."

"Same here" I gave him a smile.

He cocked his brow and said nothing.

"What?" I frowned at him but he said nothing and I knew what that look meant. He didn't believe me. Somehow he could tell I was lying.  "Okay fine. I'm not fine" I sighed.

"Talk to me."

"I'm suppose to be happy right? I mean we caught the guy who pushed me but...I'm not."

"Why?"

"I have no idea" I sighed. "I just...it's scary that someone would go to that length. Pushing me down the stairs like I am not even human. I just can't still believe such thing happened to me." I looked away from him. "You wouldn't understand."

"I do" He replied and I looked up at the smiling boy. "You see, sometimes life puts us in complicated issues and makes us deal with harsh circumstances just to award us when we come out of the dark tunnel. People are gonna be bad dyl, people are gonna be evil. People are gonna be selfish. That's life for us. We can't change that and all we have to do is be smart, he strong and move on" He smiled.

He was right about this, this world was a mad one. It was a crazy one that no one could understand, life is a bitch and will forever be a bitch and sometimes It drives us crazy, it taunts us. People are gonna be people. There are different kinds and some we don't just understand and when we think we've seen it all, we haven't.

"Did you read that from a book?" I arched my brow at him and he laughed.

The waitress came back with our food and served them, I looked at her name tag and smiled at her.
"Thanks Amber."

She just scowled at me and walked away. "I hope she didn't rub her underwear on my food"

"Just eat and shut up" he said with a laugh.

"Do you stay with your parents?" I asked out of the blue.

"Why'd you ask?" He asked as he chewed.

"Curiosity" I shrugged. "I wanna know if they can tolerate you."

"They can" he smiled. "Yes. I do"

"Oh"

"I wanna ask you something." Henry said once he was done eating.

"What?" I asked as I took a sip from my almost finished heavenly smoothie.

"It's about Isaac."

I froze, I was gobsmacked that he brought this up.  I gently removed my lips from the straw of the smoothie. "No"

"It's only fair, you asked. You said your father killed him. What did you mean?"

I didn't answer.

"Is he in jail?"

"N-No" I sighed. It was only fair that I told him about Isaac, I mean he beat the crap off an enemy for me. "I'll tell you"

He nodded.

"Isaac died eight years ago." I began. "He was my little brother, I'm older than him with four years. He was my best friend, he was a pain though." I chuckled. "But he was the best. He'd always talk to me and he always wanted to go wherever I went to." I smiled. "He's also trouble, one day he broke mom's favorite vase and begged me to take the blame. He was the only one keeping me sane, he was annoying but he was an angel. He was just five when he died."

"How did he....die?"

"Well it happened one night. My dad used to be a nice father to us, and a good husband. He was the best. But then, everything changed. He leaned towards alcohol and barely spoke to us, almost like he preferred the bottles to his family. He and mom would fight a lot, while Isaac and I would be up in our room."

I looked down at my hands as I spoke.

"I'd sing to Isaac so he wouldn't have to hear them shouting at each other every night because of his drunk state, he was always scared. And then, one day, he hit her."

Flashback

~Eight years ago.
October 23rd 2009~
7:32pm

I was up in my room doing my math homework when I heard my door squeak.  I tilted my head to the door and saw my little brother walk in, he was in his Tom and Jerry Pyjamas.

"Hey you" I sat up with a smile.

"Hi Hi" he grinned and ran over to me.  "Wh-Whatcha doing?"

"Homework" I answered as he climbed on my bed.

"I-I see?"

"You can't even solve it so don't bother" I chuckled as I closed the book.

Isaac had a little problem, he was a stutterer and he couldn't make full sentences without stuttering but it was okay. He had blue eyes like I did, but his were bluer , they were ocean blue, like mom's.

"I-I w-wanna see"

"What brings you here Detective Isaac?"

"I'm b-bored"

"Nice to meet you bored, I'm your brother Dylan." I smiled at him.

He giggled and began jumping on m bed. "S-stop do-oing th-that"

"Stop jumping on my bed or I'll toss you out the window."

"You c-cant, Y-You love me" he said as he kept jumping on my space ship sheets.

"Oh you think so? I will eat you alive."

"No" he giggled. "I'm cute. Y-You can't e-eat me"

"What?"  I laughed. "Who told you you're cute?"

"You did, and-and momma and gr-grandm-ma and gra-gran..."

"Grandpa?"

"Yes." Isaac giggled as he jumped. "I c-cant s-speak f-for lo-long." he said and sat back on my bed.

"I know, but you're doing fine."

"S-See. Y-You love me s-so Y-You ca-cant eat m-me" he said with a wide grin.

"You caught me."

"Dylan. C-Chase me and..and tr-try to catch me"

"Why?" I knitted my brows.

"C-Cause I'm-I'm b-bored"

"But I'm tired and I'm not done with my homework. Maybe later, okay?"

"Ple-Please?" He gave that sad, depressed puppy face that I couldn't ignore....but tonight was different.

"Sorry, bro. Not now, lets do it later. If I don't do my homework, it's gonna be a problem." I said and ruffled his amazing hair.

Isaac had white hair as well, but his had black roots and so it sometimes looked like it was dyed, it was such a unique look on him.

Isaac sighed and looked down. "Okay"

I looked at my dresser to pick up a book, and as I turned back to my books, they were gone and so was Isaac.

"I-" I looked up and saw him at the door with my books.

"Neh Neh." He made that annoying child sound, and with a giggle, he was out the door.

"That son of a-" I didn't finish. I stood up from my bed and jumped down. "ISAAC! GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!!" I yelled as I rushed out and was out the door with the speed of light.

He was already running down the stairs with a laugh. "EYE FREAKING ZAK!" I yelled.

"What's going on?" Mom asked as she pulled her phone away from her ear. "I'm on the phone, guys."

"Isaac took my homework and won't give it back!" I complained.

"Issac, give your brother his book, I thought I already tucked you in." She was surprised to see him running.

"Well, he's up" I said while I chased him round the couch.

Isaac kept giggling and when mom asked him to give me back my books, he said no.

"Sorry, mom. The kids are at it again." Mom said to with a tired sigh and walked to the kitchen, where it was silent.

Isaac stuck out his tongue at me from where he stood, at the end of the couch.

"Isaac, I will drop you off at Gotham's city if you don't come here right now." I said from the other end of the couch.

"Th-Then, I'll b-be Batm-man!" he grinned.

"No, you'll be eaten by Godzilla. Hand me my book."

"N-No." He shook his head, giggling.

"ICEZAC!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as I jumped on the chair and ran towards him. He screamed so loud and ran further.

"Get off the couch ,Dylan!!" Mom yelled, but I ignored her. I had already jumped down. For a five year old, Isaac was a good runner.

Isaac's giggles filled the room and it was a cute sound. Isaac stopped running and was looking at God knows what, but I thanked God for the distraction.

"Gotcha!" I said as I approached him but I stopped running once I saw whom he was looking at.

Dad.

He was bleeding and from where I stood, I could smell the alcohol that came from him. I did not even hear the door open. Dad walked in with a grunt. He couldn't keep his balance and stumbled around, knocking down a lamp which wasn't far from the door and it startled me.

"D-Dad? A-Are you o-okay?" Isaac asked, concerned.

"Yes, boy, I'm fine."

"Isaac, come here!" I instructed and he ran to me immediately, wrapping his arms around me. I never liked drunk Dad. I mean, no child want to see their parents drunk almost every night. He looked distressed, a mess.  His lips were bruised and so was his eye.

Isaac was always scared of him at times like this, according to him, dad would become the bad man when he returned from work.

"Mom!!" I called out to her. Seeing dad bleeding scared me a bit.

"What is it?" She yelled back.

"D-Dad's home." I stuttered.

"Go to your room." I heard mom's soft voice say. I turned and she was standing not too far from us and had a worried look.

"What the hell, Matthew? You have kids at home to be coming home like a mess, all bloody and drunk!" She angrily said. Mom sighed and turned to me.

"Take Isaac upstairs." She smiled at me. "You know what to do?"

I nodded and pulled Isaac with me. "Come on, race you upstairs?"  I said as I pulled the worried Isaac with me.

"I am tired of this fucking shit you do, Matthew. I did not marry you to have to deal with this! What is going on Matthew?! This isn't you! And I do not want my children in an environment like this!"  I heard her yell.

"Fuck off, Bonnie."

"Are t-they fi-fight-ting again?"

"They are talking. Let's play something instead!" I said and took out my iPad from the dresser.  "Let's play some car race?"

"Ok-kay"

"Now, first of all, you tell me. Is there someone you like in your class?" I asked with a smile.

"I'm f-five y-years old. I'm n-not allo-owed t-t-to h-have a gi-gi-girfr-friend yet" he pouted.

I laughed as I took my homework from him and placed it on the dresser-by my bed. "Who told you that?"

"Dad."

"Well, that is true."

"Do you h-have o-one?"

I shook my head. "No, I don't."

"Oh...t-that's sad."

"I am nine years, doofus." I said with a laugh. The voices grew louder outside.

"YOU ARE A FATHER OF TWO BOYS! ACT LIKE IT!!"

"YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING, BONNIE!"

"I KNOW MY KIDS AND I WILL NOT STAY A NIGHT HERE IF YOU CONTINUE WITH THIS FUCKING BEHAVIOUR, MATTHEW. I  LOVE YOU, BUT I WILL LEAVE YOUR ASS SO FAST, SO YOU BETTER END THIS SHIT UP."  Mom yelled.

"Wh-Why a-are t-they yel-yelling at e-eachot-other?"

"Just don't think about it."  I smiled at him and then I heard something break, startling me. "Stay here, okay. I'll be right back." I said before handing him his stuffed giraffe which was on my bed. "Do not move. Count up to twenty and I'll be back." I said as I got off my bed.

"Promise?"

"I promise." I ruffled his hair one last time before walking out our room. I closed the door gently, and looked down at them arguing. A vase broken on the floor.

"I do not know what you're going through, Matthew, but if you would rather be a fucking deadbeat father and horrible husband than talk about it or see a counsellor then, you better go elsewhere." Mom sneered.

"Don't fucking yell at me! You don't know what it is like!"

"Get fucking therapy! I have asked you to please speak to me or something, but you just don't want to. Get therapy then! I can't have you be coming home smelling like piss and vomit, you fucking sick uncultured swine!" She snarled at him.

Dad instantly slapped her hard, making me flinch. It was the first time I had seen him hit her. Mom was taken aback and turned to look at him, her eyes filled with shock.

"You struck me? That's it, I'm calling the fucking cops." She said and as she turned to go. He gripped her by the arm and pulled her closer to him, looking annoyed.

"You better keep quiet."

"Get your filthy hands off me" Mom yelled at him and slapped him across the face as well. I ran down and once I got closer to him, I pushed him away from her.

"Leave her alone." I said. Mom quickly pulled me closer to her.

He looked at mom, and then at me. His eyes teary as he looked at mom and then at me.

"You fucking don't know anything." He said to me.

"We don't want you here anymore." I told him. My heart racing and my eyes teary.

He laughed maniacally, and walked over to me, grabbing me by the shirt.

"Stop! Mathew leave him the fuck alone!" Mom yelled and as she tried to get his hands off  me, he pushed her to the ground and dropped me on the floor.

He looked down at us and at his hands, his lips trembling. "I...I didn't mean-" Dad huffed and turned, walking away. We heard his car door slam shut, and the engine start, as he drove away.

"Are you okay?" Mom asked, her hands on my face as she checked to see if I was okay.

I nodded.

"Go get your brother. We are leaving this fucking night."

"Okay."

I stood up and rushed upstairs to Isaac but when I got into the room, he wasn't there. "Isaac? Isaac!!" I called and checked around, I looked under my bed and in the closet. I was scared, I kept calling out his name but no answer, I checked his room, I checked the bathroom, I check everywhere but Isaac wasn't here and then I ran out. "MOM! MOM!" I called out as I ran down the stairs rapidly.

"What's wrong?"

"I can't find Isaac" I said in a panic tone.

"What?"

"He's not upstairs and he's not in your room either, mom." I said, my heart racing so much.

"Isaac!!!" Mom called and ran up. After a while, she ran back down and to her phone. She placed it against her ear, her lips trembling. "Hello, 911?"

It was then I saw something familiar by the door.  Isaac's stuffed giraffe on the floor. I froze on the spot, hands shaking. "Mom" I called, softly.

"Yes, um-"

"MOM!" I yelled out her name.

"What? Did you find him?" She asked as she ran to me.

I showed her the stuffed giraffe.

"He went out."

"Oh my God!" She panicked

Flashback ends

"That night, Dad had a car accident. Turns out Isaac was in the car," I smiled at him. "You see when Isaac came down, he saw his father hit mom and jerk me up and the little boy ran out of the house in fear and there was no one to hold him" I could hear my voice break. "Mom's husband's car was unlocked, he got into the backseat and laid on it. He didn't know, he got into the car and he drove off. A drunk guy driving." I chuckled. "He didn't see the truck" I tried not to cry. "He survived, but Isaac...Isaac didn't" my voice went low. "He didn't make it and I hate my father for it. He killed my brother" I couldn't hold back the tears. "He's evil and I hate him for taking away my best friend. I hate him" I cried.

Henry reached over to me to hold my hand but I jerked it back. I sniffed and wiped my tears. "I've uh, I've gotta go." I stood up and walked out of the shop.

"Wait." I heard him call but I just kept walking. He gripped my arm and turned me to face him. "I don't think you should pretend what you are feeling now does not exist, you should not hide this part of you, it doesn't make you weak.."

I chuckled. "Its been eight years and some months. I'm fine. I'm not—"

Henry pulled me into a hug and held me tightly. "I've got you."

I couldn't say anything, I just let him hold me, I felt like if I had to utter a word then I would cry, and you know what? I still cried  in his arms. He held onto me and listened to me, he didn't stop me, he just comforted me while I sobbed.

An Hour Later.

Henry was walking me home, I had told him about mom just forgiving on an how he was stupidly trying to make up for the death of his son that he caused.

"Can I say something?"

I nodded.

"You cant get mad."

"Uh, okay?"

"Have you ever thought...maybe your dad isn't to be blamed for Isaac's death?"

"Excuse you?" I stopped and turned to look at him.

"I mean, he didn't mean it. He didn't know Isaac was in the car when he drove off."

"That doesn't change the fact that he-"

"Yes, I agree. He was abusive due to the alcohol, it was shitty. And I am sorry you had to go through what you went through with him."

"It's fine."

"But, why did your mom stay?"

"I don't know."

"I know it is not my place to say you shouldn't hold your Dad responsible for Isaac's death, but um,"

"It isn't, so don't. Because this will end badly."

"Your dad is trying to make things right with you, isn't he?."

"Too late."

" You have a father, you should cherish every memory. Not having a father is the worst feeling anyone could experience. Deep down you love him? but you are filled with justifiable anger, that made you build a wall of hate for him"

"You don't know what it is like to see the man who murdered your brother every single day!"

"How do you think he feels when he looks into the mirror everyday, knowing he had his son in the backseat of his car when he drove off drunk, and didn't check."

I scoffed, shaking my head. "You know what? I'm going home. And don't follow me." I said as I walked ahead.

"Dylan, wait."

I ignored him.

****

I was up in my room, sitting on my bed and staring at nothing while I just thought of Henry's words concerning dad and relived the day Isaac died, when a knock came on my door. I looked up and saw Jaxton with a fixed smile on his face.

"Hi"

"No"

"Look, I'm not going anywhere okay." He said as he walked in. "I heard about Eric and what he did to you."

"Came to check if I was dead so you could make that same joke at my funeral to my parents?"

"Dylan,"

"Get out."

"Dylan you can't hate me forever. I'm not leaving this room until you forgive me. I messed up okay, big time and I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said what I said and did what I did. I miss you. You're not just my best friend Dylan, you're my brother" he sighed. "And no matter how many times you push me, I'll keep coming back."

"Till I kill you?" I said sternly.

He went pale. "W-Well n-not that."

I stared at him for a while, while he just stood there and watched me, wondering what was going on in my head.

"I really do not want to talk to you, so I would advice you leave now."

"Dylan, pleaseee." He begged. "I don't know why I said what I said, and there is no excuse for that because I am a fucking horrible person but I'm sorry."

There were better things at the moment than Jaxton, like me finding out who pushed me. I suddenly felt like crying, but I held the tears back.

"You okay?" He asked.

"No. Cause Eric pushed me down the stairs, and I can't forget that."

"I'm sorry about what he did to you."

"It's Eric, he'd have sex with a dog to make a point."I chuckled and looked at him. "What's your excuse?"

Jaxton paled.

"Dylan,"

"I don't wanna hear it."

"You're not okay,"

He was right.

"And what does it matter to you, Olson? Hmm?"

"I care about you."

"I didn't know it was Opposite Day today," I said with a smile. "Let me try mine. I really really really love you, Olson. And I would never kill you if I got the chance."

Jaxton gulped. "Dylan,"

"Get out."

"You are currently hurting."

"It's not your business." I said, my voice breaking.

"I am a fucking horrible person, yes." He said as walked over to me. "But please, this thing you're feeling inside you, you can't be alone."

"You don't know what I'm feeling inside." I said, trying not to cry.

Jaxton pulled me into a hug and squeezed me tightly, it was warm and comfy, but I didn't hug him back.

I nodded. "I'm sorry for slapping you, jaxjax"

"Are you really?"

"No."

"I'm not sorry, you are despicable." I said as I pulled away from him.

"I'm sorry for saying such things, Dylan. I'm sorry I used Isaac against you. I am sorry I said why I said. I am so so so sorry. Please. I can't live with myself and i fucking messed this up."

I looked at him, I was silent, I thought about what he had said to me in school and how much it hurt.

So, I did what I did.

One.

I counted mentally.

"Yeah," I smiled at him. "Forgiven."

••

Jax and I laid on my bed and just looked at the ceiling, I had told him about my meet up with Henry, right after he told me about Astrid and why he kept it a secret, I didn't blame him now, he didn't want us feeling sorry for him. He kept calling the amusement park thing a date and went all psycho about it, I had to smack him with a pillow to shut him up.

It might seem like we had made up, but there was still a part of me that wanted to shoot him and it was always going to be there. I had forgiven him, but who said anything about forgetting? Who said anything about not watching every step he makes from now?

Jaxton was one to watch out for. He was the kid you would least suspect to murder someone, but would. The perfect SCREAM character.

No one in my shoes would forgive Jaxton for the thing he said. No one should.  But, I needed to keep him around for two reasons;
1. Maybe he was my karma.
2. He sparked my curiosity. I needed to see HIM.

"You boys awake?" Mom asked as she knocked. We both sat up and nodded in unison.

"Yeah" I replied.

Mom walked in and smiled once she saw us. "It's nice to see you both being friends again"

Jaxton frowned. "How did you know....we had an issue?"

"Please, this is my house. I'm not stupid. Somethings weren't just the same anymore."

"I told your father about Eric, we'll talk about it when he returns from his trip first thing tomorrow morning , he cut it short."

"Trip?" I frowned, confused.

"Yeah. To Belgium" Jaxton replied.

"My dad went to Belgium?" My brows furrowed.

Mom looked a little shocked but nodded. "Yeah, um...he said it during dinner yesterday." Mom sighed.

"Oh," was all I could say.

"I'll go warm up dinner, boys. You both come downstairs and set the table, okay?"

Jaxton nodded. "Yes, ma'am."

"How was the meeting?" I inquired.

Mom grinned. "Amazing. I was too beautiful, they couldn't say no to our proposal." She said right before she walked out, while we laughed.

Wait a sec,

Did i say "my dad?"

***

The next day, Jaxton and I went to school together. Mom dropped us off and we walked through those halls with laughter. Today seemed bright. Today was bright. Eastwood's high demon was gone, the atmosphere was amazing.

I got rid of the devil's messenger ,

So, what could possibly go wrong?

Jaxton sighed once we got to his locker. "Apparently, there's a new student coming in today and i have to give him a tour"

I frowned. "No one gave me a tour when I first arrived."

"That was cause you didn't want one"

"Ha! True." I answered with a nod.

"I have to be nice to him and show him exactly how Eastwood highschool is" Jaxton said with a smile.

"Well, you could push him down the stairs, that should work. If he doesn't survive like me, then he could be our schools' very own Artie."

"That humour is offensive."

I laughed. "It's funny."

"True." He snickered.

"How in the world do you love doing this boring shit?" I gave him a bored look. "The whole tour guide thingy? You seem to get pleasure from it more than masturbation."

"I'm Jaxton Olson. It's what I do." He shrugged.

"The masturbation part or, what are we talking about?" I asked, and he smacked my arm.

"You know what I mean."

"Mmhmm."

"He's a transfer student and he's super hot as well. He's gonna make a great addition to our school, I know that. He loves dogs and from the file Principal Evans showed me, he's an amazing guy."

"So, Jaxton Olson. Where's this new kid?" I asked as I folded my arms.

Jaxton looked around and then at the entrance, his face suddenly brightened. "That's him!"

I looked at where he was pointing with a smile and once I saw who it was, my heart stopped. I recognized that face instantly and I stood straight, shocked at who had walked into this school.

"Jesus."

He walked in, dressed in black skinny jeans and a blue shirt with a bad-boy leather jacket and sunglasses.  He already had the attention of some of the students, he had that aura, someone like him would. That smile people thought was charming but was cursed, his stupid pretty face that had so many evil in it.

"Shit. He's hotter in real life!" Jaxton cursed. "Isn't he perfect?"

Fuck. This guy wasn't an amazing guy, he was far from perfect. He was the devil. The devil was him. He was worse than the devil himself.

"And that's our new kid." Jaxton grinned. "His name is J-"

"Johnathan fucking Smith" I finished up.

"You know him?" Jaxton asked curiously with knitted brows.

I sighed. "We just opened the gates for Satan."

"What'd you mean?" He frowned, looking bewildered.

"Jaxton. That hot guy, is Azarel! Eastwood High is about to be a nightmare."

I jinxed it. If I had not asked what was the worst that could happen then I am certain, Johnathan wouldn't come to answer my rhetorical question.

O Satan! Welcome to Eastwood High.
