Chapter 60.
Dylan's P.O.V
I stared at myself in the mirror, third outfit of the day. I sighed and walked to my bed, sitting on it and putting on my shoes, tying the laces as well as my mind wondered off.
I had texted Amelia my address and she told me the driver was gonna be here in exactly five minutes. I was dressed in a decent way, I think. Black office pants and a blue office shirt which hands were folded. I walked out of my room with my cellphone and towards Jaxton, I knocked on it and entered.
"Hey, Jaxton. How do I-" I trailed off once i noticed him staring at his closet while he sat on my bed, he looked like he was looking at it but I'm pretty sure he had zoned out. "Jax?" I called and walked over to him, I touched his shoulder and he flinched, scaring me a little.
"Oh, its you." He fixed a smile on his face.
"Yes, it's me. What are you thinking about?" My brow knitted.
Truth be told, I knew the answer. It was about his mother, when we saw her I was gonna take Jaxton out of there but she demanded to speak to her son and I refused to let her but Jaxton wanted to speak to her.
Flashback.
"I want to speak to my son."
"No!" I shook my head. "Not happening, I'm not letting you speak to him cause we both know that whatever is gonna come out of your mouth is nothing positive." I spat. "I'm not letting you talk to him if all you're gonna do is say bad things in French."
"Spanish." Jax corrected.
"Do not fucking correct me right now, Jaxton." I said, pointing a finger at him. "Let's go." I grabbed his hand and was about to go when she walked to my front and blocked my path.
"He is my son and he'll decide if he wants to talk to me or not." She said, looking straight at me.
"Oh so now you think he's worthy of making his own decisions? Jaxton will not. Talk to you. Because you are a horrible woman who made him feel like he was a mistake. No." I said coldly. I'm sure all the eyes in here were all staring at us.
Zach and Jon looked really lost slash uncomfortable as if not understanding what was happening, well they didn't.
His mother said nothing, swallowed and her eyes held sadness but I wasn't gonna fall for them.
"Move aside, come on Jaxton." I said and pulled him along with me.
"Por favor, Jesús." I heard her say softly as I walked away with Jax but then he stopped walking and placed his hand on mine.
I turned to him with a cocked brow and then shook my head at him once I saw his expression. "No."
"It won't be long."
"Are you fucking kidding me? No."
"Why aren't we leaving?" Zach asked in a little whisper.
"If she's as bad as Dylan just described then we should be out of this door." Jon said.
I nodded. "She's as bad. You're not really considering talking to her right?"
"It'll just be for a short while, l-let me just hear w-what she's gonna say."
"Jaxton." I sighed.
"Please."
I looked at the boys and back at Jax. "Fine." I said and walked back to his mother. "Whatever you're gonna say to him, I'm gonna be there with you both and I'm gonna listen and if you try anything, I'll-"
"I want to speak to my son private."
"He allowed you to speak to your son, you're not getting another favor done." Jon said from behind me, I looked at him and smiled before looking back at Jaxton's mother with a scowl.
"You heard him."
"Dylan, its okay." Jax said as he looked at her. "You guys are here anyways, I just wanna hear whatever she has to say."
"Are you kidding me?"
"Dylan." He looked away from her and at me and then the boys. "You guys will be here anyways."
I sighed, I wasn't going to agree but he was already pleading with his eyes.
"Okay," i looked at Mrs. Olson. "You have five minutes to say whatever bullshit you have to say to him. Once it's past five minutes, we're leaving and this time I'm not listening to whatever Jaxton is saying, I'll have Jon throw him over his shoulder and we'll be out of here."
"Five minutes." Jax nodded.
"We'll be at a close table." I said, glaring at her. I looked at Jax and asked him with my eyes if he was sure he wanted to be alone with her, he nodded in reply and I smiled at him.
Flashback Ends.
So, I didn't get to hear what she said but I knew she said something to him. Something that got him silent in the car and silent ever since, even when I tried to eavesdrop, she switched to Spanish and I didn't get to hear.
"You know you can tell me right?"
"Aren't you supposed to be mad at me?" He smiled a little.
"Fuck that, I can't stay mad at you even though I'm pissed." I smiled. "Whatever made you lose sight of her."
"Um..Dom?"
"Ah! Explains it." I nodded slowly. "What did your mother say?"
He smiled and shook his head. "Nothing important."
"And you're worked up? Pfft. Tell me."
"Dylan, you need to go now. I'll tell you when you return. It's almost eight, your ride's gonna be here soon."
"You're right." I patted his thigh with a sigh and stood up. "An evil princess needs saving."
He snickered.
"Look, me trying to help Raven doesn't mean I don't care about you. I'll also listen to whatever you have to say, I'll slay a dragon for the both of you." I smiled at him.
He stood up and walked over to me, hugging me. "Thank you, Dylan. I wonder what our lives would be like without this white haired creature."
"Devastating."
He laughed and pulled away. "Go now."
I nodded, smiling. "Take care of yourself while I'm gone for a few hours. Big brother will be home soon."
"We're literally the same age." He chuckled.
"I was born on the second month of the year so shut up, I'm still older." I said and made my way out, smiling once I heard him laugh.
I ran down the stairs once I got a text from Amelia saying the car was at the address I sent which was my house.
"Mom! I'll be back in few hours!" I announced as I got down.
"Bah! Bah! Bah!"
I turned and saw her walking towards me, hair tied into a bun, lazy pants and an ash top.
"Mom, I'm gonna be late."
"Where are you off to all dressed up like a gentleman."
"Raven's." I answered.
"You're all dressed up like you wanna impress her parents and get their permission to date her."
The first one is true, second one? I've literally got gay written all over me, mother.
"Mother, I have to clean up nice if I'm going to be at her house for the first time. You never can tell what her parents are like, I don't want them hating her best friend which is me."
"And me." Jaxton said from the staircase.
"Yeah, and Jaxton too."
"But he's not going with you."
"Mother, i-"
Ping!
A message entered my phone.
"Gotta-"
Ping!
Ping!
Ping!
Ping!
"Love you!" I said and ran out the door.
"Be back before eleven!" I heard her say before I slammed the door shut and made my way towards a car that was white and rich in color and at that moment my phone rang.
"Amelia, I'm there already. Jesus, you text like a teenage girl."
"The Smith's are here already, hurry up. Tom should be waiting."
"Okay. Okay. I'll be there in...I don't know how long it is from here to her place but I'll be there."
"Okay." She said and hanged up.
I looked at the driver on white outfit and a cap looking like a sailor, he looked like he was in his twenties. Early twenties.
"Tom?"
He nodded. "Dylan?"
I smiled and got into the backseat and he drove off.
After few minutes of silence, I was starting to get bored. I had texted the Agents of shield at our group chat created by Olson, telling them I was on my way to Raven's.
Jon wished me good luck.
Jax said to be careful
Zach said I shouldn't be a disappointment tonight like I always am.
I told him to fuck himself.
I was bored already and decided to have a conversation with the driver.
"So, Tom. How are the Frosts like?"
I already knew the answer to that.
"Loveable people." he replied.
"Are you just saying that to keep your job."
"As a matter of fact I am."
"Ah!" I nodded. "So...how about Raven? Your sincere thoughts?"
"She can be bossy but she's an amazing lady, I think Raven's awesome." He said with a smile.
I cocked my brow, people never say such things about Raven immediately. I stared at him through the front mirror and he noticed me staring but I was busy observing as well, I didn't take my eyes off the front gear as I just stared, slowly knitting my brows.
"What is it, Mr. Dylan?" He asked a he drove.
I didn't reply at first and then my eyes widen. "Oh my God, you've slept with her."
"W-Wait? I d-don't-"
"You've had sex with her! It's obvious! Plus you just called her Raven!! I'm sure you're not allowed to call her by that but since you've done her then I guess so." I chuckled.
"I-I don't k-know wh-what you're talking about." He let out a nervous chuckle
"Mmhmm." I rolled my eyes. "Relax, Tommy. I'm not gonna spill, I mean she's gorgeous and I understand why you'd want to stick your penis inside of her."
"Oh God." He muttered.
"And you're good looking as well and practically live in her house which means she wouldn't be able to resist you for long and therefore opened her legs for you to stick your penis inside her v-"
"Mr. Dylan. Please."
He was already sweating with embarrassment, I smiled. "Sorry. My bad. I'll just let you concentrate now before you kill me." I said with a slight chuckle before blocking out every sound in the world with my earpiece, hands to myself by Selena began to blast into my ears.
I don't know how long it had been since I had zoned out even when looking out the mirror but then I heard a cough that brought me back to the present.
"Hmm?" I looked at him and took off my earpieces.
"We're here."
I looked ahead and my jaw dropped, there were long black gates, the kind Obama would have. The gates automatically opened and he drove in, I looked back and back around. It was night but you could still see the beauty thanks to the lights that filled the compound. There were beautifully made gardens at my left and also at my right, he kept driving for a while as if we weren't even close yet. There were some security guys outside in black suits, some holding guns.
So much for normal life, Raven.
I blinked.
"Woah!"
And then the car stopped finally.
"We're here."
"Amelia called it a house, this is a freaking mansion." I said as I got out slowly. I was astonished, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I have never been to a house like this in my entire life, I feel like I'm in heaven right now.
I looked at the hou- sorry mansion right in front of me. It was huge, four white long pillars. Right behind me was grass, pure green grass again, there were lots of windows. Three security guards stood right at the entrance, I slowly closed the car door as I looked around before looking back at Tom.
"What are the Frost's like?" I asked again.
"They're-"
"If you lie to me I'll tell the world about you and Raven and I'm certain you'd lose your job. Now tell me, what is her father like?" I demanded.
He swallowed, contemplating if to say or not but he knew what was at stake. What he didn't know was that I was bluffing. "Magneto."
I smiled a little. "I can handle him."
"Let me rephrase, he's like the villain in X-men apocalypse."
My brows rose. "Ooh!"
He nodded. "Good luck and um...please-"
I smiled at him. "Don't worry I would never do that to my best friend, so you're safe." I said and made my way towards the door, I passed the security guys and when I got to the door I took in a deep breath and walked in with a fixed smile. I pushed the doors open and I didn't think I'd be more surprised but I was. I was more than surprised, I literally felt like I was walking on gold.
"Oh. My. God." My eyes widen, I'm pretty sure they were about to fall put of their sockets.
This house speaks money! Jesus.
This house was way bigger inside, it was painted white. What's with rich people and pure white? I looked up with my mouth open. I started to count the chandeliers with my finger, I had never seen such house before.
"One...two....three." I counted softly when I got further and right in front of me was Amelia. "Oh God." I flinched.
"You cleaned up nice."
"You said 'house' Amelia! House! This. Isn't a house." I said as she made her way towards me.
"You're late."
I gasped. "Are those twin stairs? Oh my God, those are twin stairs!"
"Dylan, snap out of it!!" She whisper yelled.
I flinched and shook my head. "Sorry, um..you were saying?"
"You're a little late, the Smith's are here already and dinner has been served about two minutes ago."
"Sorry, its not my fault."
She sighed. "Just follow me and don't forget what I asked you to do."
I smiled, nodding. "Yeah, I didn't."
"Good, let's go." She said and began walking back to the same place she came from. "And don't forget, they can be intimidating and would make you feel like crap, all you gotta do is not let their words get to you."
I followed and then my phone vibrated, I looked at it and paused.
"Henry?"
I opened the text.
"Dylan!" Amelia whisper yelled.
I quickly put my phone away and ran to her. "Sorry." I said as she led me to the dinning, this house was really huge. Photo frames of the Frost being all...professional. Everything looked like they were not to be touched by poor hands like mine and I didn't want to break anything, flower vases were literally at all entrances.
"Miss Frost." Amelia called and I looked right in front of me, we were there already. "Someone's here for you."
I smiled once I saw seven faces all look at me. "Hello everyone."
"Oh, God." Raven muttered, eyes widen.
Johnathan paled at that moment and began to cough since he choked on his food and if that wasn't funny then the looks on his parents faces were, they looked paralyzed. Johnathan was sitting at Raven's left while a good looking man who seemed to be in his twenties was sitting at her right.
"Who are you?" The elderly professional looking man whom I didn't know asked.
"Wait. You do look familiar. Have we met?"
"Not really," I shook my head, smiling.
"I've seen you somewhere." The man in white hair and glasses whom I assume is Mr. Frost said with a little frown. To be sincere he had that harsh, strict, mean look on, he did look like a villain. "You're that kid that was on the news about a month ago." He said and looked at Raven.
Ah. That news. The Vaughn thing.
I nodded. "Yes, I am. I'm Dylan, uh..Raven's best friend." I put on a big smile. "I came to see Raven."
"You're the boy my daughter visits most of the time, hmm? What are you doing here anyway? By this time of the night?" He cocked his brow.
It's just past eight, the fuck?
"Like I said, I came to see Raven. She seemed a little down earlier today at school and I decided to come see her and check on her." I replied calmly, still smiling as I bit my tongue from giving a sassy reply.
"Well, we are quite bust and having a family dinner and-"
"I don't mind, I'll join and say nothing."
Mr. Frost was about to say something but his wife placed her hand on his, she slowly shook her head at him and smiled at me. "Well then, why not? We could get to know the boy who is slowly making Raven talk back to us." Her voice sounded like a billion dollar housewife.
"Mom." Raven frowned.
I guess even Raven knew she was up to no good, I could feel it but two can play this game. I'm here to make them like me and to make the Smiths uncomfortable, throw whatever you want at me.
I nodded. "With pleasure." I gave her a smile.
"Get him a chair." She said to the butler behind her, the elderly looking man nodded and walked away.
"So, I hear you go to the same school with my daughter?" Mr. Frost asked right before another servant brought the chair and placed it at the end of of a hot looking gentleman that earned a smile from me.
I shook my head. "Um..no!" I said to the servant. "Please bring it here." I said, he blinked and carried it bringing it to me. I walked over to the hot guy who looked familiar but I couldn't place where I'd seen him. "Hi, could you...scoot with your chair a little."
"Hmm?" He stopped chewing, his brows quivered.
"Just a little."
He looked at his parents then at me, he swallowed his food and nodded, moving with his chair a little. I looked at Raven with a blank expression, her eyes were screaming at me and asking me a lot of questions.
I ignore them all. "Please move."
"Huh?"
"I'm gonna sit in between you and this guy," i said referring to Johnathan. "So move."
"Dylan, I-"
"Now!" I demanded.
She sighed in defeat and moved her chair a little for mine to get in. She was putting on a pink, backless, short gown while Johnathan was in a suit. I fixed my chair in between and sat there, ignoring the eyes all looking at me and placed a smile on my face.
"Erm, Amelia, please do serve him." Mrs. Frost said, breaking the ice.
"Yes ma'am." Amelia replied and did as she was told.
"So, school with my daughter?" Mr. Frost asked.
"Obviously," I muttered.
"Excuse me?" He frowned.
He wasn't supposed to hear that.
I grinned. "I meant, yes. Yes. I do. She's an amazing person, she was the very first friend I made at Eastwood high." I smiled at her.
"Is that so?" He sounded uninterested.
I nodded.
"Your hair color, why would your parents let you dye it?" Mrs. Frost asked, a perfectly made brow arched at me.
They're trying to bring me down and I've done nothing.
I shook my head, smiling. "They didn't, it's real."
"He's a special one." Raven said.
"What do your parents do?"
"Excuse me?" My brows rose at Mr. Frost's question.
He chewed his food slowly and looked at me. "Your parents occupation." He asked again.
"My mom is a chef for this famous restaurant that's going worldwide-"
"She's an amazing cook." Raven said instantly, fake smiling. She was trying to make the tension lessen. She could feel it.
Famous indeed...
I looked at Johnathan. "Johnathan, hey. What are you doing here?"
He was chewing slowly now, like really slow once I spoke to him, did he think I'd not say a word to him. "I um..." He cleared his throat.
"You two know each other?" Mr. Frost asked curiously, brows knitted, voice still sounding uninterested.
I nodded. "Along with his parents here. Mrs. Daphne and Mr. George." I smiled at them. "Its been a while."
"You guys close?" That same handsome young man asked as he ate whatever was made, this was some kinda rich food and I didn't know what was served.
I looked up from my food and at the guy. "You look really familiar like I've seen you before but I can't place where." I said to him.
He chuckled.
"Dylan, that's my brother." Raven said in a bored tone.
I gasped. "Yes. That's it!" I grinned. "Hello..?"
"Nixon." He smiled.
"Nixon." I repeated with a grin. "Nice to finally meet you."
"You too, heard so much about you."
I smiled. "I hope they're not bad stuffs."
He chuckled. "A mix of both."
I gasped. "Raven doesn't just shut up, does she?"
The siblings laughed.
"Shut up." Raven giggled.
Mr. Frost cleared his throat and looked at us and we all stopped laughing.
"He mentioned something about knowing you, you know them?" Mrs. Frost asked.
"Well, we um...we do sort of know the Dexwells." George answered.
I smiled. "Actually, Johnathan and I went to the same school in Seattle before I moved here and months later he also moved here. Coincidence, huh?" I chuckled and took a sip from the wine served.
Non alcohol for us I see.
"You didn't mention you were from Seattle." Mrs. Frost said, looking at them.
"We didn't? Oh must have skipped my mind." He laughed.
Raven pulled my shirt and I looked at her.
She glared as she leaned closer. "What the fuck are you fucking doing here?" She asked in a harsh whisper.
"Being here for you." I whispered back. "Just let me."
I looked at Johnathan's parents, fake smiling as I took a bite from my food. "This is delicious, Mrs. Frost." I turned my gaze to her.
She smiled. "Thank you."
I looked back at Mr and Mrs. Smith. "So, if I may ask, what brings you guys here? To Eastwood? Whatever happened to you running again?"
George looked at me for a second before replying. "We wanted to start afresh."
"Ah!" I nodded.
"Running?" Mr. Frost asked.
"Oh, you didn't know?" I pretended to be shocked. "Mr. Smith ran for mayor last year and he lost." I grinned. "Tragic."
George cleared his throat and I could suddenly see he was starting to feel uneasy.
Mr. Frost ate slowly. "I see."
"You'd be surprised how many times they have failed at things, if you google the word fail, I promise you, you'd see their family photo." I said and Nixon snorted, holding back a laugh.
"I didn't know the Smiths and Frosts were friends at all." I said.
"Business partners to be." Raven corrected.
"Wow." I acted surprised.
"Mmhmm, we're about to launch a deal and the Smiths will have forty percent of th-"
"There's no need to tell a total stranger about our company and it's business." Mr. Frost said, cutting Nixon off.
Nixon looked at him and cleared his throat. "Sorry."
"Um, that's amazing, really. But a piece of advice, you guys have to be careful with the Smiths. I mean, if George here was able to cheat on his wife then what's gonna stop him from cheating on you guys." I said and laughed.
No one laughed, just me and soon Daphne joined and George and then Johnathan, all fake laughing.
"Such a funny kid." George said, smiling.
"He does have a weird sense of humour." Daphne said.
"So you agree?" I asked her. "Your life is funny. First he cheats and then he loses the election, it's comical." I drank from my glass.
Someone cleared their throat and it became silent again. Daphne had shot me a wicked look, like she couldn't wait to snap my neck, while I just flashed her a smile and winked.
I looked at Johnathan. "I see your nose hasn't healed."
He froze in his seat, as he stopped chewing.
"What happened to you son?" Mrs. Frost asked.
"Yeah, he fell down the stairs earlier." Mrs. Frost said.
I laughed. "Is that what he said? Wow."
Johnathan glared at me. "Stop!" He muttered.
"Isn't that what happened?" George asked, suddenly interested.
"I hate to be that person," I sighed. "But yes."
Johnathan gripped his fork tightly, his eyes warning me not to say another word.
I smirked. "Johnathan here got in a fight and thanks to me coming to rescue him, he would have gotten his ass kicked the more." I said and smiled at him. "Isn't that right?"
They all looked at him. His father looked mad all of a sudden but tried not to show it, while Daphne looked completely done and annoyed.
"Oh." Mrs. Frost said.
"Mmhmm." Johnathan nodded. "Um, thanks so much again, I did fall down the stairs during the process and broke my nose. Dylan here saved me."
I ate.
"Hmm." Mr. George said, even though his expression said he didn't believe that because he knew I'd dive a knife into his son's heart if I had the chance.
"What are friends for, dear Johnny? This is really delicious." I said as I ate, looking at Mrs. Frost.
"Erm, so... George, would you mind telling us how far you want to go with the company?" Mrs. Frost asked.
George looked away from his son and at Mrs. Frost, faking a smile. "I uh..plan on expanding it, I mean Google is worldwide yes, but there are some parts of the world that don't quit know about it and if we really want to keep being number one, we need everyone, and I mean everyone to know about it. And since you have your own company which is doing amazing for itself by the way, It would be nice if you trust me with this assignment while you focus on your own legacy. We have had a discussion before today and I promise to br—"
I laughed hysterically, interrupting him and getting stares.
"And what is funny, Dylan?" Mr. Frost asked in a cold voice, one that could turn someone to ice.
"Stop!" Raven warned in a whisper.
"I'm sorry, its nothing, I'm just... Sorry," I cleared my throat. "Continue, Mr. Smith."
"You are being quite rude here, Dylan, don't you think?" Daphne asked, her voice filled with irritation.
"Am I? Well then, my apologies Mrs. Smith. If only you would call out your husband when he does worse, just like you called me out, bur anyways," I turned to Raven's father.
"Everybody knows Google, Mr. Smith. You can't reach the parts that don't know Google because they have no internet or cellphones, they have nothing to be able to know such and that would just be a waste of money to reach the part of the world to show them what a fish is when they have no river. Except you plan on giving them internet access and giving a whole community cellphones. Hmm?" I cocked my brow at him.
"What I'm trying to say is some people have cellphones that are not like ours, iPhones or smart phones and when they want to get some information off the net they won't be able to with Google but use uh...some random website and-"
"I disagree." I shook my head. "You see, let's just say the world has about a million people. Nine hundred and ninety nine thousand people know about Google and the remaining hundred don't even have cellphones or know what it is to even know what Google is cause of their economic status." I paused. "Even when you don't have smartphones or iPhones, when you try to search for whatever you want online, whatever information you're trying to feed yourself with, they somehow end up using Google." I stated. "Now instead of wasting thousands of dollars to go to places to 'introduce Google' or whatever word you used, you should just work on having the Google logo 'G' on all cellphones even the lower ones, so when they'd want to get infos about something, the Google sign is already there. We all know curiosity kills the cat and there is no goddamn way they'd not check what the G is for. So making deals with the phones that don't even have Google in them and having the G print in them or the full Google word is way better and bam! It's internationally international." I shrugged.
The table was silent.
"That. Does make a lot of sense actually ." Nixon said and looked at his father. "Right? I mean why travel to those parts when we can get all cellphones doing it all. This would be a positive effect on our own company and if you relay that piece of information to your own board slash fellow shareholders, they will all agree to it."
"Hmm, that sounds promising." Mr. Frost agreed.
Raven smiled.
"Smart thinking." Mrs. Frost said to me.
"Thank you."
I looked at George, he was gripping his fork tight. Oh, he was so angry, and so was his wife. They wanted to rip me to shreds right now, while I just beamed.
"So, Johnathan. Do tell us about yourself, the things you like and um...how you are enjoying Eastwood? Are you comfortable here?" Mrs. Frost said with a smile and took a sip of wine from her glass.
Johnathan put on a fake gentlemanly smile. "I uh...I think Eastwood is a really nice place and it has a lot lovely people. I um, I love music and I love animals as well."
I rolled my eyes.
"I love reading."
I snorted.
He paused and continued afterwards. "I um...I also love to visit the orphanage home every Saturday."
"Wow, a fine gentleman." Mr. Frost chuckled, while George nodded.
"It's nice, it's....almost too good to be true." I said while I ate.
"Excuse me?" Mr. Frost fixated his eyes on me.
I looked at him and smiled. "I just think he's not saying all he loves, I mean you also love to socialize at teenage parties, don't you? I've seen some photos on your Instagram." I smiled at Johnathan and looked back at Mr. Frost. "He's a good guy, goes to parties on Saturdays to meet new people, nice guy, I say." I patted his shoulder.
"I don't have Instagram." Johnathan said with a blank expression.
"There's a video online of a certain someone pouring a drink on you, funny video with thousands of likes and comments." I chuckled. "Right?"
Awkward silence.
"Um, s-so Dylan. How's your mother?" Mrs. Smith asked.
I turned my gaze to her, God knows how much I hate her.
"She's very fine, thanks for asking." I fixed a smile on my face.
"Is she still with your father?" Johnathan's mother asked.
"She is, as a matter of fact." I answered.
"Ah! That's good. I heard your father got demoted, true?" She asked with a smirk as she ate.
I smiled. "No, he wasn't. I don't know where you heard that from." I sighed. "I heard your very business crumbled back in Seattle, very true I presume?" I furrowed my brows.
She glared but quickly faked a smile. "I closed it down cause we were moving."
"Ah!" I nodded.
"Your mother? Famous restaurant?"
"Your job? What is it again?" I retorted.
She went quiet, she knew what happened to her place of business, I did too. Apparently after her husband lost the election for mayor, his wife became a laughing stock because she bragged about how he was going to win. And we all know how other rich women could be when one of them fails, even when six rich women come together for tea, they still envy each other and well her business failed cause she was a bragging white bitch.
I smirked at her glare, she couldn't fake smile a more.
Cat got your tongue?
"And what job does your father do?" Mr. Frost asked.
Truth be told. I didn't know.
I was silent, I looked at Raven who cocked her head to the side and widen her eyes a little in a way that said 'answer'.
"I don't know." I fake smiled, I couldn't lie now. I knew the smiths had an idea of what my father's job was and if I did the mistake of lying, I'd be trapped.
Mr. Frost brows knitted. "You don't? Isn't he your father?" Mr. Frost asked.
I nodded. "He is, we didn't get along in the past."
"If I remember correctly, you guys are enemies." Johnathan fired.
I chuckled. "Were enemies. We are working our whole relationship out, sometimes shit happens and y'all drift apart." I shrugged. "At least he never hit me for not knowing the time when I was little, or for speaking up." I said and looked at George. "If only such fathers got locked up."
George loosened his tie a little and cleared his throat.
"Dylan's mother is an amazing person, and if you taste her food, you'll definitely always go back for more." Raven said.
"My mom loves her." I smiled at Raven. "Thinks of her as a daughter."
Raven smiled back. "Well since she doesn't have one, I'll take that place."
I laughed. "Permission granted."
She grinned.
"So, how's school?" Daphne asked, cutting in and looking at Raven with a smile that looked genuine but was fake as fuck.
"Good." Raven replied, the rest of the people waited for her to continue but she didn't.
"Raven here is a straight A student." Mrs. Frost said with a smile.
"But Nixon is the star here." Mr. Frost said smiling at his son.
I frowned.
"Really?" George asked with a smile.
Mr. Frost nodded. "Mmhmm, he's made us proud on different occasions. He's the bright star in our house, he doesn't do anything to want to bring our family name down. Sometimes, I wish his sister would take after his footsteps."
"Dad, stop." Nixon said, he clearly wasn't enjoying the praise.
I looked at Raven, she was quiet, her face emotionless as she took a sip of wine from her glass and gently placed it down, it was as if she was used to this.
Was this how it always was?
"Raven is also trying her best, she's the head cheerleader and an outstanding student with straight A's like mom said." Nixon said, backing his sister up.
Raven flashed him a weak smile.
"I agree." I spoke. "She's not perfect, because no one is and perfect is boring anyways. But she is amazing, and she takes her studies seriously, she's also a really funny person and she does have a personality, thank God." I said and she chuckled.
"And that's what matters, the family business thing can come later." Nixon said.
"She clearly doesn't want to take over the business." Mr. Frost said in a steady deep voice. "But she will."
"I don't want to." Raven said, turning to him.
Mr. Frost dropped his spoon and fork. "You're young, you're saying that now but later you will see that its the best."
"It's not." She said, still not looking at him as she ate gently.
"Do not argue with me, Raven."
"I don't want to sit behind a desk and play boss, I don't want to be like a certain someone." Raven retorted, voice still calm.
Shit.
I looked away from her and at her father who had a murderous look on. "See what I mean? She's always rebellious. Disrespectful. Want things done in her way forgetting she's living in my house." He gave a mean chuckle.
"Your child sharing their opinions and feelings is not them being disrespectful, Mr. Frost." I told him. "If she airs how she feels to you and you are going to shove it into the trashcan, tell me, do you really qualify to be a parent? I'm just saying. If she's rebellious, maybe it's not because she wants to be, maybe it's the house she's growing up in, the people she sees everyday and what they say to her." I said. "Wouldn't you agree, Mrs. Frost?" I asked, looking away from her husband and at her.
"Um," she cleared her throat. "You do have a point."
"My house. My rules." Mr. Frost said.
"Does that mean I should leave?" She asked, her voice emotionless like her face.
Silence.
"Uh, Mr. Dunk. Could I please have a word with you in private." George said as he looked at him.
Dunk?
Wait...his name was Dunk? What kinda name is that? No wonder his kids have such names.
But seriously, Dunk?
Mr. Dunk still stared at Raven with a murderous glare, if only she'd look at him, she'd fall dead. He nodded and stood up with a sigh. "Very well." He said and stood up. "Let's go to my study room." He said and walked away with him.
"So, Dylan."
"Hmm?" I looked at Nixon with a smile, he looked like the only normal not scary one in this family aside from Raven.
"I was unable to meet up with you, the news on that burglar thing of you saving your friend. It was a great move, you're a good person. Raven's been telling me of how amazing and well...crazy you are."
I smiled. "I can be crazy if i want to." I shrugged. "Friends come before any other things. Raven and Jaxton are my favorite people and I'd rather die-" I looked at Johnathan. "Than let them suffer or go through any pain."
"Well, since the men are talking business. Daphne, would you come with me, I have some new decor designs to show you." Mrs. Frost insisted with a sigh.
Daphne stood up with a grin. "Yes then, I'm actually full." Daphne said with a a chuckle and stood up walking away with Mrs. Frost.
Nixon's phone rang making us all look at him, he answered it as he stood up walking away. The maids began clearing the table while the three of us sat still, saying nothing until they were all gone.
"And then there were three." I said and sighed.
"What are you doing here?" Johnathan asked, I looked at him with a smile.
"I came to see my friend and seeing you are here, I think its the best time to tell your parents about what you tried to do with their business partner to be's daughter."
He turned to me. "You will not ut-"
"Drop it, rumplestilskin. I don't think you have the power to tell any of us what to do and not do here."
He looked at Raven, I knew she was staring back at him and those eyes held warnings.
"That won't be necessary." Raven said.
He smirked. "I think its best if you listen to her."
"Shut up."
"Come with me," Raven stood up and held my hand dragging me along with her and up the stairs, I didn't even have the time to retaliate or yell cause I was fascinated by the things I saw.
We got to a room and Raven pulled me in, closing the door behind her. It was huge, I mean really huge. Her bed was possibly the same size as Henry's bed. Oh my God! Was that a walk in closet? No!
"Dylan, you need to stop."
"Are you crazy?"
"Why won't you listen?"
"There's no music playing."
"Dylan!"
"Cause I'm not a coward. You think I'd let you suffer at the hands of that devil? You think I don't know what's going on? That he fucking threatened you and has been assaulting you? I'm not stupid, Raven. I know all these things. I know he's using me to get to you, threatening you with your best friend's life."
She blinked. "W-What?"
"I figured it all out cause I'm smart, and because that's the kinda shit he does, over and over so if you are fucking trying to get me to stop and continue with my life and ignore the fact that he almost fucking raped my best friend then you better wake up from that dream of yours cause it's not happening. I won't let that person around you. I am not gonna abandon you and I most certainly won't let you talk me out of it even if it wasn't me in your position. No. There are a lot of people willing to fight for you and put that asshole behind bars and this time its gonna happen, look what he has done to you!"
Raven wiped her tears as they fell.
"He's trying to make you weak. I know how triggering it can be, being in your position." I held her hands. "It's scary. Terrifying. You just want to shut the world out, I know, but then you'll be alone. And I can't have that happen, Killer Frost. I'm not leaving you, I'm not abandoning you and letting you get eaten up by your thoughts. Not now, not ever." I shook my head.
The room was quiet.
"This is when you say something nice like 'slit his throat'."
"You're a mess, you know?"
"I couldn't help it." I laughed.
Raven chuckled, sniffing as she wiped her tears. "You're the funniest, selfless, most amazing person in the entire world, and I cannot love you more than I do right now, because its in maximum."
I smiled. "Does that mean you're gonna stop asking me not to help you?"
"Would you even listen?"
"I will leave it if you ask me to."
Raven swallowed, holding back her tears and gave a small nod, but said nothing.
"You know you can cry, right?"
She shook her head. "No." She breathed out.
"Yes." I nodded.
"No," she said smiling as she cried.
"Come here."
She nodded and I wrapped my arms around her, patting her back gently as we hugged. "It's okay. I'm not gonna leave you to face this alone. When I decided to be your best friend, I knew all that came with it and if I could fight a drug dealing psycho for Jaxton then why not the earthly Lucifer for you?"
Raven laughed. "You're crazy."
I chuckled. "I've heard that all my life. I love you."
"I love you too." She sniffed.
"Are those tears of joy or...?"
"I'm pretty sure it's the one of joy and trauma, i mean majorly joy because I'm happy I have someone like you who didn't leave me even after all the harsh things I said." She said as she pulled away. "
"You're gonna apologize for that, right?"
"I'm really sorry." She instantly apologized. "I didn't want you involved to save your life."
"You were ready to suffer for my sake. That was a dangerous but brave move, Dear Raven. Thank you."
"Another hug?" She asked with a smile, her face red from crying.
"Yeah, just don't get any-" she hugged me. "-mascara on me."
She laughed. "Shut up and don't ruin this moment."
I chuckled. "Yes ma'am."
"But," she pulled away again. "Johnathan. What do we do?"
"We keep playing. We can't let him get suspicious, we don't want him thinking I know about it. This time, you're not gonna let him lay his hands on you. Tell him I decided to back out but he dares not touch you, threaten him back and let him know his presence doesn't make you weak."
Raven nodded. "Okay."
"He has hurt you enough, Raven. Don't let him continue, we're gonna still try to out him and put him jail but you have to bring back the old Raven, the one that every one in Eastwood was scared of while keeping up the act." I said, my hands were placed on her shoulders. "You're not broken. You. Are. Not. Broken. He doesn't have any right to break you. He can't break you because you didn't let him. He is not your weakness. You are strong. Stronger. Fuck what he said, fuck it all."
"Fuck him."
"Yes! Wait, did you ask me to fuck him?"
"No no, not fuck him fuck him, like fuck him."
"Oh! Then yes! Fuck him!"
"Fuck him and his fucking facade and ugh, that rapist! I want to gut out his eyes."
I smiled. "Yes. That's the spirit."
"No." She warned.
I blinked. "Sorry."
She smiled. "You said people were ready to fight for me, who and who?" Her brows knitted.
"I'll....tell you later. Let's go before people start to get suspicious, plus your parents don't even know I'm gay so they might think we're banging."
"True." She nodded.
"First can I say, your mom looks evil but she's gorgeous. Plus you have money!!!! Look at your fucking room! I could stay here all my life and not even care about coming out."
"Was that supposed to be a gay joke?"
I blinked, finally realizing. "No. No it wasn't."
Raven chuckled.
"Why didn't you want us over?" I finally asked.
"My dad hates you."
"He just met me today!"
"And you were definitely something during dinner."
"You think it was sexy?"
"He thinks you're a bad influence."
I laughed. "Me? You were the one who made me sneak out at night and go to a club, and have tequila and random alcohols and also make out with tony and dance like a stripper and with random men as well. So I'd say, you're the bad influence here."
"A good kinda bad influence."
"Is that even a thing?"
"It is now." She smirked.
I scoffed.
"Well, let's go back now before they start looking for two pretty best friends." She said and opened the door, I walked out with her and down the stairs, admiring her dress, it really did look expensive and super classy.
"We don't have to join them." I said to Raven once we got down the stairs. She was about to reply before we spotted Johnathan walking towards us.
"Well," he had a coy smile on, his hands in his pockets.
"Raven, could you please excuse us?" I said to her. "I'll handle Azarel." I told her.
"Are you sure?"
"Mmhmm."
She gave Johnathan a dirty look and then walked away.
I walked closer to Johnathan with a blank face. "You are one shameless piece of garbage."
"Straight to the insults. Typical."
"I'll ruin you, dear belovedth Regina."
"You can try," he smirked. "But you see, you will never catch me. You could never."
"You've got a gun with a bullet, I've got a half opened bomb. We'll both die in this game, dear johnny boy. You know me too well, and fortunately I know you just as much, so if we can't get a winner, we both lose."
He just stared at me. "I like when you challenge me, its hot. It just turns me on."
I gave him a look of disgust.
"If only you were on my side."
"After everything you did to me? Wake up, Johnathan. The sun doesn't rise in the west, I'd rather get eaten by zombies than be by your side." I grimaced.
"There is a storm coming."
I froze once I heard that phrase again. "What did you say?"
"A huge storm is coming. Woooooooooooough." He made a wind sound. "The Titans are coming! The Titans are coming!" He sang as he laughed, and then he walked away.
I just stood still as I watched him while he walked away with a big creepy smile.
Something wasn't right.
"Hey, are you okay?" Amelia asked as she made her wah towards me. "Did he say something? W-What did he say to you?"
I looked at her. "That demon with no supernatural powers is up to something."
"What do you mean? Do you know what?"
"He said 'the storm is coming', he always says that when he's up to no good." I swallowed. "When something bad is about to happen, something awful. Something....Johnathan, to rile me up and put me on edge, he says that."
***
Daphne and Mrs. Frost were sitted in the living room looking through magazines that had pictures of expensive jewelries and dresses. Nixon and Johnathan were having a conversation while Raven and I were holding glasses of red wine, alcohol this time sitting at the dinning, we've been talking for quite some time about Jonathan's stupid code.
"So he said 'the storm is coming', and to you it means something bad?" Raven asked.
"Evil," I corrected, still staring at Johnathan as he spoke to Nixon. I looked away from him and at Raven. "He's really up to something, whenever he says the storm is coming, its really bad and I mean really bad. He said the storm was coming one time back at our old school and a guy who spoke to me a couple of times ended up in the hospital. For two weeks."
Raven's eyes widen. "Two weeks?"
I nodded. "Arm broken, leg broken, a concussion. He's that bad." I gulped. "He always comes for my friends, the people who have spoken to me just for fun and it's-" I trailed off once I remembered something.
"It's what?" Raven asked. "Dylan?"
"Oh my God. How did I not know? Strike one. Strike two. He had sent me those texts."
"Huh? I'm confused."
"I got a text from a random someone, twice actually. Strike one. Then about a week or two later I got another. Strike two. It was that son of a bitch!" I huffed. "Strike one was you! That was why he approached you, that was why he chose you!! He knew we were friends. Best friends, oh my God. You were strike one. T-Then who was strike two? Jaxton? No. It can't be. I-"
"He's been friendly, I think he's a really nice guy."
"Henry." I breathed out. "It's Henry. You're strike one and Henry's strike two." I slammed my hand on the table. The fact that he was messing with them was making me mad. First Raven, and now Henry? No. He will leave Henry out of this and not mess with him.
How do I protect Asscroft?
"Dylan!" Raven called.
I ignored her as I made my way towards Johnathan. "A minute Nixon." I said, glaring at Johnathan.
"Um,"
"A minute, Nixon, please. Dylan probably has something problematic to say to me if you do not mind." He said. Nixon was unsure but nodded and left.
"You are a fucking asshole!"
He looked at me. "Call me something I'm not, please. It's getting tiring."
"You are one egoistic sociopath."
"Thank you." He smiled.
"It was you who sent me those texts, wasn't it?" I asked, anger rushing through my beings. "Strike one. Strike two."
His brows rose as he tried to hide his smirk but I could see it already. He let out a sigh and shook his head. "Tsk tsk. You are delusional, Dexwell." He said and began to walk away, I followed.
When I realized we were alone, I grabbed his arm and twirled him to face me. "So that is it? You'll keep coming for my friends? Johnathan, seek help at an asylum!"
He laughed.
"Strike two. Who?" I questioned him, hoping for a different name. "Tell me."
"Strike two. " he hissed. "I do not really have anything to hide actually cause no matter what, I'll still do what I want." He bit his bottom lip at me.
"Strike two. It's Henry, isn't it?"
"Well, I wondered how long it'd take you to figure that out. You were always so super smart, stormie. That was way I liked about you, and that is why I play these games with you, to see how long before you get that puzzle."
"Cute. But listen to me, Johnathan, do not come for my friends or I will cut you every where." I threatened. "Raven is a mess right now because of what you tried to do to her, and Henry? I will warn you just once, Joker. If you don't fucking stay away from him, you'll have me to answer to. I will make life a living hell for you if you dare cause him pain in anyway, I fucking promise you." I was mad, really mad that he was coming after Henry next, and had been on his tail ever since that time.
Henry said he's been really nice to him and that shit was scaring me right now. Henry was part of his plans.
He was quiet for a while, a smirk on his face and slowly it turned to a grin. "I knew you liked him."
I scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous."
"You like him."
"Again with this? He is my friend you pathetic two faced bastard, and I don't let people play this shit with people I care about."
"I call bullshit! I thought you said you hated him."
"Oh, so you're recording every word I say now, huh?" I shot back.
"You fucking like that hottie."
"I. Don't. I don't think of Henry that way cause he's disgusting but if you come any closer to him, If you dare try to test my anger, Johnathan, it might not end well for you."
"I'm not stupid, I knew you liked him." He grinned. "Explains the way he pulls you out of the cafeteria and you don't even bother to fight back." He chuckles.
I didn't reply.
"This is gonna be fun." He bit his lower lip. "It'd be so much fun, playing with your boy toy."
My hand worked by itself, slapping him hard across the cheek.
"For the last time. Henry. Is not. A boy toy." I said, glaring daggers at him.
He touched his cheek and chuckled, looking back at me. "Wow, that did sting."
"I don't know what your plans are, Johnathan but leave Henry and my friends out of this. This is just about me and you. It has always been about the two of us from the beginning."
"But then, where is the fun in it? Wherever you go, I'll always be there. You can't escape me, Dylan. You can't." He said with a smile and walked away.
As i watched him leave, I felt a presence before me. I looked and there stood Raven also watching him leave as she folded her arms.
"Dylan, did you and Johnathan ever date?"
I frowned at her question. "For a while. He had my first kiss and I regret that so so bad." I cringed at the memory. "What we had was just a bet to him, and he well used me when I was at my lowest, so."
"Was he in love with you?"
I grimaced. "What?" I finally looked at her. "Him? Johnathan? Love me?"
"I mean, from what he said, one would think he had something for you and still does."
I chuckled. "Not Johnathan, he's not capable of feeling a thing and even if he could, it didn't involve bullying me. So no, he has nothing for me. He has no heart to even feel a thing." I said as I just looked.
"Hmm." She then sighed. "That slap though, all for Henry? I'm starting to get suspicious." She said with a smirk and walked away.
I frowned.
Suspicious? Why? I've slapped for a lot of people before.
Whatever.
I followed.
Raven and I began talking about her brother and how he didn't seem as grumpy as he did in the photo I saw.
"He wanted to be a footballer." Raven said with a smile.
"But—your parents being your parents wouldn't let that."
She shook her head. "He had to take care of our very own company and well, Dad wants me to do the same but I don't wanna throw my dreams away like Nixon did."
"What about you? What are your dreams?"
She beamed. "Fashion."
"Really?" I grinned.
"Well, it's one of them actually. Just maybe something I could make a side hustle but like super big."
"Oooohh, love it."
She nodded. "I wanna go big like Victoria secrets and Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Versace."
I chuckled, she looked really happy as she said it.
"You know you don't just open your mouth to say them, yeah? You gotta like....make plans."
"I know doofus."
"Just checking."
"I already see myself in such high places, I know I buy expensive clothes and I love it, I buy them cause they're catchy and I know people are gonna buy mine.. I love the designs and that's because most of them kinda inspire me. I'm not copying, just being inspired."
I laughed. "Sure."
"I love watching runway shows and imagine they are my clothes, these are things only Nixon knows. My parents don't care in case you ask why i didn't tell them."
I really was going to.
"Oh."
"I wanna be the one to make dresses for people like the kardashians and-"
"Kardashians? Why?"
"Because they are ready to spend millions on a dress." She chuckled.
"Fair." I giggled.
"What do you think of my dress." She said as she stood up.
"I've been admiring it all night, how much did this cost?" I finally asked.
She grinned. "It didn't cost anything."
"How is that possible?" I asked with a 'be serious' expression.
"I actually made it myself."
My jaw dropped as I stood up. "You didn't."
She nodded.
"But there's no sewing machine in your room? I mean..I..how? I just...no!"
She laughed. "There is but I keep it hidden." She shrugged. "You like it?"
"I. Love. It."
She giggled. "Thanks. People think once you're rich and pretty you can't do anything, can't sow, can't do the dishes."
"You know how to do the dishes?"
"Oh no, I don't. Just giving examples. I've never done the dishes before. ESR."
"Hmm." I nodded. "Not surprised. I mean you live in gold."
"I'd say shut up but you're right."
"Well why don't you just sow a dress you'd wear to h-"
"No." She shook her head. "I'm not ready for that step yet."
"Are you fucking kidding me? You just sew a dress that looks like its about five thousand dollars. What exactly are you not ready for?"
"Shut the fuck up, Mr. Dexwell."
I sighed. "Just a suggestion. How cliché could our group of friends be? One is a musician and the other is a fashion designer. Pfft."
She rolled her eyes. "And what about you?"
"I think I'm gonna be a lawyer."
"You think?"
I shrugged. "I know."
She sighed. "You're so weird."
"And could you get any softer?"
"Fuck you, snow white."
I dramatically gasped. "My favorite nickname."
She smirked. "Just for the best."
"One question. Why does Jonathan's dad walk like he's got a plank up his ass?" Raven asked with knotted brows.
"I think there really is a plank up his ass." I replied.
She giggled. "And have you seen his wife?"
"Ugh, tell me bout it?" I rolled my eyes. "Hi, I'm Daphne. I'm rich and wear silver slippers. I have had about nine plastic surgeries and I feel like my face's falling off." I said, mimicking her voice while Raven laughed. "I gave birth to the devil and my husband is a real life troll."
Raven's eyes widen, I giggled. "I know right, ooh and as for her husband. He goes, 'I'm running for mayor", but then loses and becomes a menace to society, to our town. He is nothing but a waste of sperm." I said with a laugh but Raven didn't laugh.
My smile slowly faded. "He's right behind me isn't he?"
She nodded.
"With your father, right?"
She nodded.
I sighed heavily and turned to face them with a smile. "It's roast night so I was not dragging anyone."
"How dare you insult my guests!" Mr. Frost deadpanned.
"I didn't insult them, I just said what happened."
"You have a bad attitude and I don't want you st-"
"Dad!" Raven called. "Please. He's also my guest."
He turned his glare to her, the way he looked sent chills down my spine. It scared the crap out of me, he really did feel like the villain in Xmen apocalypse, just being around him was just enough to make a nervous kid commit suicide. Thank God, he wasn't Simon cowell.
"I'm t-truly sorry, i-"
"ENOUGH!"
"It's okay, Kaiden. He's just a kid." George said with a smirk. "Daphne, Johnathan. We're going home." He announced and they came out of their hideouts and to where we were. "Thank you guys for dinner, I'll see you guys some other time. Good night." George said with a smile and began walking away.
"Thank you so much, Beatrice. Dinner was lovely." Daphne said as they gave air kisses as if pecking their cheeks, she walked over to Raven and hugged her then at me and did the same. "We'll see in hell." She muttered in my ear.
She pulled away with a fake smile and walked to her husband. Johnathan said his own gentlemanly speech of thanks that made me roll my eyes and once he was done, he winked at me and they all left.
"Okaaaay. Um, thank you all for tonight too. I um...I'll see myself out." I said since I wasn't enjoying the awkward tension.
"I'll walk you to the door." Mr. Frost said.
I gulped. "Oh y-you don't have to." I fake chuckled.
"Walk with me." He said as he began to walk, I swallowed and looked at Raven.
"If you don't see me in school tomorrow and I go missing, you better tell the cops about this scene." I whispered to her as I scurried away to follow her father.
I was walking side by side with her father, I knew he was mad at me right now but what can I do. I didn't say a word as we walked to the door.
"You see, Mr. Dylan."
"Dylan is just fine, sir."
"I don't give a shit who you are neither do I care that you're my daughter's best friend, I want you to leave Raven alone."
I stopped walking. "Leave her alone in what sense?"
"Don't talk to her."
"Ha!" I laughed but he wasn't laughing. "It's not a Dad joke?"
He put his hand around my shoulder and made me walk. "I mean it, she doesn't need a negative vibe like yourself. You have no respect and I do not like you at all, no mater what you do. I can't"
I blinked. "I'm not asking for her hand in marriage, all I wanna do for Raven is—"
"I have said it, didn't it? That's how its gonna be." He said once we got out the door.
"I'll have someone drop you off, do you have a car?"
I shook my head. "No." I said softly.
"I'll get you one if you want, just stay away from my daughter." He said and patted my back before walking back inside.
I turned. "I'm sorry sir but I can't. She needs me now more than ever and not even a car would make me go away, so I cannot stop talking to your daughter."
He turned back to me, hands behind his back. "Is that so?"
I swallowed. "Yuh."
"What if I get you a Lamborghini? "
My eyes widen. "A red one?"
"Whatever colour you want."
"You'll do that just to have me stay away? How rich are you?"
He let out a harsh chuckle. "Very. Very rich."
"Hmmph. It's still a no."
"I'll get you a scholarship to whatever college you want to go to."
I blinked. "Oh wow. Now, that....that is a tempting offer. Wow. But uh, she does need me now."
"I'll get you a house in Beverly hills and make you join that crazy show of the rich kids of Beverly hills if you want."
I swallowed. I love that show. This was crazy, he was gonna make me junior bill gates just so I can stay away from Raven. I could take it all and never even talk to Raven. Ever. But she was in this mess cause of me, I don't keep friends but when I do I cherish them. I'm not leaving Raven, I'll make it in the future. I don't need his money.
"No."
"What did you say?"
"I said no! I'm not doing it. I do love Raven like I would a sister and even of you offer me the heavens and the earth, I still won't take it cause riches don't and can never be compared to friendships."
I sound stupid, but keep talking.
He just looked at me in awe and then scowled. "Very well then, if you don't leave her alone then I'll have your balls chopped off. I mean it. We'll have to do this the hard way." He said and looked behind me. "Take him home Tom. Enjoy your night, Dylan." He said as he walked in.
I swallowed hard. Now that was a threat. With such deep mean voice. I felt the vibrations all over my body, my palms were sweaty already.
But...
I still wasn't going to.
***
"I fucking cherish my balls!" I groaned as I laid on Jaxton's bed.
"So you're giving up?"
I snorted. "No fucking way, he's just creepy as fuck. Her father. He's not creepy...more like scary. He threatened to cut off my balls and that is fucking scary, you should have heard him say it. He meant it."
"You knew what you were getting yourself into when you went there." He chuckled.
"True brother." I sighed. "Do you know Raven wants to be a fashion designer."
"Wow, really?"
I nodded
"How cliché could this be?"
I sat up. "Exactly what I said!"
He giggled.
"But her parents are mean, they don't even appreciate her. I guess that's why she's mean to everyone, she doesn't want to be pitied so she clouded her emotions by being a bitch."
"Wow."
"I know." I sighed. "Now." I looked at him. "Tell me why your mother said."
"Now?"
"Yes. Now."
"I just.."
"You're telling me. What did she say to have you all lost? Was she mean to you? What did she say in Spanish?"
He shook his head. "She said she's sorry, she's changed and wants me back home."
I frowned. "Huh?"
"She said she finally understood her mistakes and that my sister needs me too." He sighed. "I can't be selfish, I haven't seen my sister in a while and-"
"Jaxton. No."
"She's my mother, Dylan. I can't run from her and if she's change then maybe I-"
"You're not leaving and that's final."
"You can't make that choice for me, Dylan. I'm just...confused. I don't know. She sounded...sincere."
"At least let me talk to her first. Let me hear from her, you're under our protection and she has to talk to me or my mom first, okay? She came here like a dinosaur the first time, that attitude is enough to convince me that I need to see her again and know what animal she is now."
"Dylan. You're talking about my mother."
"Sorry, I forgot."
He chuckled. "Get out of my bed and go to yours."
I sighed and stood up. "Goodnight, crazy. Don't think too much, Kay? We'll handle this." I said as I walked out of his room.
"Kay. Night." He replied.
In my list of people to worry about who needed my protection were my best friends.
Raven.
Jaxton
And then...
Henry.
Henry Ashcroft.
Author's Note.
Its surprising how I get to update when I think I won't, I think this story is my only escape from reality.
Anyways, don't forget to vote and comment.
Forgive me if this chapter is wack, it didn't really come out the way I expected it to at first and I've read this like seven times trying to correct somethings and see how lame it looks. If its that bad, I just might rewrite this.
I decided to make Raven want to be a designer because along of ideas came into my head for future episodes so don't criticize. I mean she's a total badass but deep down, she's just a girl who wants to be loved.
Vote. Vote. Vote.
