Chapter 41
~•Jaxton's P.O.V•~
I was extremely shocked to see her here, how did she find this place, how did she know this was where I stayed? She hasn't bothered to check on me since the incident until last night and thought it was right to just show up here, ready to create drama like she always does.
I knew something was up the minute I heard shouting upstairs and a familiar voice at that. I decided to come check it out only to find my mom arguing with Dylan and his mom.
Her hair wasn't properly combed, this was how it always was when she was in a hurry, she'd always forget to comb it. Her brown eyes stared at me as if questioning me on why I had done this to her.
I had been ignoring her calls since last night, after I answered the first one and she had asked me to come back home immediately, I had told her I wasn't coming back any time soon.
She was now in town. When? I have no idea, but if she was asking me to come home it was because she needed me to do something for her or to stop the neighbors from talking even though they thought she was an awful mother anyways, my neighbors checked up on me more than she did.
She was breathing heavily and didn't take her eyes off me. I still didn't understand what she was doing here or how she even knew the Dexwell's house.
"She's your mother?" Dylan's mom brows rose.
"You're....Jesús?" Dylan asked a second after his mom had asked her own question.
I rushed down the stairs with a simple "yes" answering both their questions, Jesús is my middle name and mom calls me that more than the first name everyone calls me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her through gritted teeth as I took the last few steps down.
She walked up to me and grabbed my hand."Ven, no estás eligiendo mis llamadas, estamos yendo a casa."she said as she walked, dragging me. (Come, you're not picking my calls, we're going home)
I pulled my hand and scowled at her. "No vay a ir a ningún lado contigo, ¡Ya the dije eso anoche!" (I'm not going anywhere with you, I already told you that last night!)
"DEJA DE SER DIFÍCIL!" She yelled.(Stop being difficult!)
"Estoy siendo difícil? Deberías ir a casa a Sofía." I said and turned to go bit she grabbed my arm, making me look back at her. (I'm being difficult? You should just go home to Sofía.)
"¡Yo soy tú madre! Me obedecerás Te di a luz pot amor de Dios, Jesús!" She said, raising her voice again. (I am your mother, you will obey me. I gave birth to you for God's sake, Jesús!)
I was fed up, anger rushed through my veins.
"Eres una horrible madre! Eres lo peor, nunca estuviste ahí para mí, así que detente con esta mierda de madre!" I glared at her hard. (You are an awful mother! You are the worst, you were never there for me so stop with this mother crap!)
She looked hurt. "¿Cómo te atreves a hablarme así?" (How dare you talk to me like that?)
"Pero es la verdad." I laughed bitterly. (But it's the truth.) "Has sido la peor madre, ni siquiera pudiste llamar para ver cómo estaba tu hijo cuando fue atacado en su casa. ¿Qué clase de madre eres?" (You've been the worst mother, you couldn't even call to check up on your son when he got attacked in his home! What kind of a mother are you? )
She swallowed. "He estado allí para ti en las buenas y en las malas," She said through gritted teeth. (I have been there for you through thick and thin) "¡Estuve allí para ti y Sofía cuando tu padre murió! Entonces corres hacia estos extraños y te quedas con ellos, ¿escondiéndote cuando deberías estar en casa? ¡Soy tu madre por el amor de Dios." She said acting all like the drama queen she was, I just rolled my eyes. (I was there for you and Sofía when your father died! You then run to these strangers and stay with them, hiding when you should be home? I am your mother for God's sake!)
"¡MIERDA!" I yelled angrily. (BULLSHIT!) I rubbed my face in frustration and let out a bitter chuckle. "Mi madre no estaba allí para mí cuando fui echado y casi violado, cuando estaba en el hospital. Estas personas a las que llaman extraños, son las personas que estuvieron allí para mí. Lucharon por mí e incluso obtuvieron su brazo roto. Ella fue la que estuvo allí para mí, ella fue la madre que nunca fuiste, ella me habló siempre y me hizo sentir segura." (My mother wasn't there for me when I was thrown around and almost raped, when I was in the hospital. These people here who you call strangers, are the people who were there for me. He fought for me and even got his arm broken. She was the one who was there for me, she was the mother you never were, she talked to me every time and made me feel safe.)
"¡Ella no es tu madre!" She yelled. (She is not your mother!)
"Eso es lo que piensas," I laughed. (That's what you think)
She froze, and blinked afterwards. "Qué es lo que tú-" (What do you-)
I cut her off harshly. "¡Eres lo peor, mamá! Eres una desgracia para la maternidad. ¿Sabes lo que deseo cada vez que me despierto contigo en la casa, cada vez que pienso en ti? ¡Siempre deseo que no seas mi madre! ¡Ojalá tuvieras un aborto espontáneo cuando me quisiste! ¡Ojalá naciera en otro lado porque eres el peor!" I rambled all at once without taking a breath. ( You are the worst, mom! You are a disgrace to motherhood. You know what I wish for every time I wake up with you in the house, every time I think of you? I always wish you're not my mother! I wish you had a miscarriage when you had me! I wish I was born elsewhere cause you are the worst!)
She slapped me instantly, my face tilted to the right at the sudden unexpected slap.
"How. Dare. You talk to me in that manner?" She said, anger in her voice.
"Okay, that is enough!!" Dylan's mom said and walked to stand in front of me. "You should leave!"
Dylan pulled me back and stood beside me, he was furious and just glared at my mom.
"That is my son, and I am not leaving without him!" She retorted.
"I already told you I'm not going anywhere with you!" I yelled back at her.
"You heard him," Bonnie said as her brows furrowed. "You better leave."
"This doesn't concern you, so why don't you just stay away and try to control your own kid." She said and turned her gaze to me."You better get here, RIGHT NOW!" She demanded, scowling at me.
"Are you just playing dumb, or is something really wrong with your brain?" Dylan chimed in with an angry frown.
"Stay out of this little boy." She shot him a mean look but Dylan being Dylan wasn't moved by it.
"What kind of a mother are you?" He said and took a step towards her. "You are literally the worst thing, not even a single call since your son got attacked. You didn't come home to check on him, the cops called you didn't they? You didn't even care to know where he had been staying for the past one month." Dylan asked through gritted teeth. "And then you show up at our house, acting all perfect and motherly and try to take him home like it actually works that way." He scoffed. " The truth Mrs. Olson is that you're just a miserable excuse for a vagina. God blessed such an awful woman with a good son unfortunately, and I feel bad for him, you know why? Because he has such a bitch like you as his mother."
She rose her hand in less than a second and I knew what was coming and so did he. He looked away and waited for the slap, but her hand never touched his face. Her hand was stuck in the air.
"How dare you? You have no right to come to my house and try to hit my boys. I will not allow it." Bonnie said while holding her hand and stopping her from doing what she was about to do, the say she said 'my boys' made me feel a little happy, she did think of me as her own. "GET OUT!" Bonnie said and pushed her.
"I'm not going to leave!"
Bonnie kept pushing her backwards and mom kept trying to come forward, Bonnie looked back at us and was about to say something when mom pushed her hard. Bonnie stumbled, trying to keep her balance right before she hit the couch hard, I flinched at the sudden movement. She groaned and stayed right there for a few seconds.
"Mom!" Dylan called and went to her.
Mom dashed towards me and tried dragging me, we got into an argument and I withdrew my hand and pushed her. "GO HOME!" I yelled.
Bonnie held out her hand at Dylan and stood up right, she glared at my mom who was staring at me as if I had done something abominable. Dylan's mom took off her heels and marched towards mom, she was mad.
"I have had enough of this." She said and as she got towards her, her hand went backwards and with a huge force it went straight towards mom's cheek, slapping her thunderously, anyone around would think a car crashed. Mom held her cheek immediately and went for the floor. Dylan was an amazing slapper, he had a lightening bolt in his palms and you could feel it when he slapped you, I did. But looking at his mom and being present at this moment and hearing the sound of the slap, I see where he got his talent from, she had the powers of ten thousand if I'd say, my mouth hanged open once she slapped her.
Mom looked up from the ground and at Bonnie, half of her hair covering her eyes. I took a step forward but Dylan held my hand stopping me.
"You bitch!" Mom gritted out and stood up, she charged at Bonnie with her now red cheek, she had no idea she was no match for her. Bonnie kept pushing mom and there was so literally much noise, Bonnie was yelling at mom to leave, mom was yelling at both Bonnie and I, I was also yelling at mom and telling her what an awful being she was, Dylan was telling his mom to get her out.
Dylan's mom grabbed her angrily by the arm, and pulled her along with her to the door while she kept screaming at me calling me a disappointment while also yelling at Bonnie to let go off her arm, Bonnie opened the door and quickly pushed her out, Dylan picked up her bag and handed it to his mom and she threw it at her. "You don't just become a mother just by pushing a child out of your vagina, you have to fulfill your responsibilities as a mother as well to become one!"
"Don't dare try to preach to me about th-"
"Don't you ever come back here, you fuck hole." Bonnie rudely interrupted and slammed the door right in her face without waiting for her response. She sighed and pushed her hair backwards, trying to calm herself, her hands rested on her hips right before she turned.
I was at the verge of tears and I'm sure she saw that, she walked towards me and hugged me tightly. "I'm sorry that had to happen right in front of you."
I hugged her back and I let it all out, I couldn't hold it back in.
"Its okay." She said and patted my back. "You're safe, you're fine. We've got you okay." Bonnie said and broke the hug gently, she wiped off my tears and smiled at me. "Look, you're a part of this family and we love you. You'll always be a part of us okay? No matter what anyone says, you're like my own kid, hell you're my kid." She chuckled. "And I'll fight any bitch who dares to raise her hand on my kids." She said while looking at me, she looked at Dylan and smiled at him and then back at me. "...no matter who they are." She added.
I smiled at her and nodded. "Thank you." I muttered.
"You don't need to thank me, dear." She said and hugged me again.
Dylan's P.O.V
Today is literally the worst day ever, if I had a diary I'd write it all down, but I'll never have a diary. Everything bad happened today, first it was the dream, then it was Henry forgetting about the kiss and then it was Jaxton's crazy mother, but no one could be compared to the last one.
I knew something was up once she showed up at our doorstep but I didn't think she was Jaxton's awful mother that he told me about. I knew shit had gone down when they switched languages, I was taken aback when they kept yelling in their language. I just stood with mom, we didn't know what they were talking about bit we knew it wasn't good and then she slapped him and mom had to step in. I was a little worried when she pushed mom but mom got back on her feet and well, slapped the living demon out of her, sending her to the ground. That is gonna have her thinking about her whole life.
I'm worried about Jaxton, I really do hope he's okay. I mean, she was his mother after all and she showed up here for him, everything that happened tonight must be getting to him, I decided to check up on him.
I knocked on his door and poked my head in, he was laying down on his bed. "Hey, you asleep?" I asked, if he didn't reply then I would head back to my room.
He sat up and shook his head with a sniff. "No." He replied and I took that as my signal to talk to him.
I walked into his room and closed the door behind me, I walked towards his bed and sat on it. "You okay?" I asked softly.
"No." was his response, he just looked down. "I hate her." He said with a shaky breath.
"I figured," I nodded and looked at him. "I'm sorry." I apologized.
He looked up at me and let out a sad chuckle. "What are you apologizing for?"
"For the way I spoke to your mom, although she deserved it," he huffed and shook his head. "And for my mom slapping her like she was performing a harsh exorcism."
He laughed, this time it wasn't sad. "Yeah, well she deserved it. I'm not sad about that and there's nothing to apologize for."
I smiled. Soon after, his smiling face turned into a red one and his brows pulled down as he cried. "She's so mean, Dylan." He shook his head. "She has always treated me like shit, Dad always had my back and was the better parent to Sofía and I, he left and it's like she became worse." He wiped his tears.
"Hey," I pulled him into a hug. "I know I might not have the right words to say to you right now, but all I can say is, you shouldn't let her get to you. You're strong, you're an amazing person alright, screw what your mom says." I waved it off. "I know she's the one who gave birth to you and all but, you're a better person. You're your father's son as well and he is your strength, and the one person you have to be strong for!" I punched his chest playfully. "You love your father so much don't you?"
He nodded.
"Then stop being a crybaby and don't let this get to you," I knew I was being mean right now but sometimes that's the only way to get people to listen. "Your dad isn't gonna be happy while he's up there if you keep crying this way over something you should be strong about." I said and wiped his tears. "Mom already told you, we're your family. We might not be related by blood but we're still one, you're part of our family. Don't ever think we don't appreciate you or don't want you with us okay."
He smiled widely, "I cannot be more grateful to you guys."
"That's a good thing right?"
He laughed. "Yes."
"So...Jesús?" Don't blame me, I had to bring it up.
"Yeah, that's my middle name. I knew you'd ask." He sighed.
"Dont act like you know me so well." I playfully scowled at him.
He chuckled.
"And you speak French well."
"Its Spanish."
"That's what I said." I wasn't in the mood to be corrected, its the same thing.
"You said French and it's actually Spanish."
"Same difference." I shrugged.
He rolled his eyes. "Seriously, it's kinda annoying."
"So, you're not a american as I suspected."
"I told you already."
"No you did not."
"I did!" He whined.
He didn't.
"Nope."
He sighed. "Okay fine, my mom's from Spain and my dad's american alright? So that makes me american."
I arched my brow. "Is he really american?" I asked, I mean Olson doesn't sound american.
He shook his head. "No, he's from Sweden actually but he moved here before I was even born." He answered truthfully. "Olson isn't american."
"I know," I huffed. "That's why I asked."
"But my mom made sure I learned how to speak her language," He rolled his eyes. "She named me Jesús and dad names me Jaxton." He smiled.
"They are both nice names." I smiled at him. "Go to sleep." I patted his legs and stood up.
"How was the project with Henry?"
"How was the hangout with Dominic?" I asked once he asked his, furrowing my brows.
His brows knitted in confusion. "Good?"
"Hmm," I huffed. "Good too."
"You sure?"
"No." I shook my head.
"Wanna talk about it?"
"I'm not sure."
"Jerk, I just cried right in front of you and told you how I felt about my mom," he rose his brows. "The least you could do is tell me how it turned out so I can feel much better."
I sighed and shut my eyes before sitting back on the bed. "I'm not sure this one's gonna make you feel better."
"Any story about you and Henry always makes me feel better, you guys are like my medications on being sane."
I rose a brow at him, giving him a weird look. "Well, aren't you creepy?" I fake smiled at him.
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes. "Did you guys talk about the kiss?" He asked with a smile.
I nodded.
"And?" His eyes widen with excitement and curiosity.
"And he doesn't remember." I forced a smile.
I watched as his happy eyes slowly died down into a pity one. "Oh."
"Yup," I nodded. "Apparently, he was too wasted and doesn't even remember half of the party, let's not even talk about the kiss." I chuckled bitterly but I knew he couldn't tell.
"Are you okay?" He asked softly.
I gave him a look and laughed. "Of course," I shrugged. "I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?"
He just started at me. "You sure you're okay?"
I rolled my eyes. "For the five thousandth time, Jaxton." I then looked at him. "I don't have a crush on Henry. I don't like him for anything. He irritates me." I stated.
He nodded. "Okay, sure." He sighed. "I just thought maybe you did like him."
"I'm so glad he doesn't remember actually," I grinned, but it wasn't real. I knew that much. "And then I can move on and so can he."
"But-"
"Goodnight JaxJax." I stood up and began walking out. "Sleep well."
"You too." He chuckled as I walked out and gently closed the door behind me.
I was heading to my room when I saw mom coming towards me.
"Hey." She smiled.
"Hey, you okay?"
"Yeah, how's he? Is he okay?" She asked and folded her arms.
I folded mine and sighed. "Yeah, he was pretty down and all but I managed to change the mood and got him smiling."
She smiled. "That's good, he needs us now."
"Yeah," I nodded.
She ran her hand through her hair tiredly.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, j-just really tired." She sighed. "Go to bed now, I'll go talk to Jaxton." She kissed my forehead, "Goodnight." She said as she patted my shoulder and walked to his room.
"Goodnight mom." I said and walked into mine.
I laid on my bed and pulled the covers over me, as I shut my eyes my phone vibrated on the dresser. My eyes shot open, I sighed in frustration.
Really? It had to be now?
I picked up my phone lazily and realized it was a text from an unknown number, I frowned and opened it curiously.
Who the fuck was this?
