Chapter 44

"No, it's Raven " I answered, still looking at the redhead who just held her purse with two hands and didn't even look away.

"What the fuck is she doing here?" Jaxton asked as he marched towards us, I looked behind me and he was scowling right at her.

"I-I don't know, keep your voice down." I said hinting at the fact that mom didn't know we were all fighting.

He nodded. "What do you want?" He asked her.

"I uh.." She shook her head, making her hair go back.

"Didn't you gather your thoughts before coming here?" I cocked my brow at her.

Raven swallowed nervously. "I uh, I came to talk to you both."

"Jaxton," I called and he turned to look at me. "Do you want to talk to her?"

"No." Jaxton said and folded his arms. "I don't have anything to say to her. Do you?"

"No." I flashed her a smile. "As you can see, we are both not interested in whatever you have to say."

Raven's lips quivered. "I just-"

"Who is it, is it the pizza?" Mom asked and walked towards us. "Oh, Raven," She smiled. "Hey, I haven't seen you around in a while."

"Hi, Mrs. Dexwell" Raven faked a smile.

"How are you?"

"I'm good." She replied.

"Well, what are you three whispering about?" She asked and looked at me.

Raven looked at me and then back at mom. "I uh-"

"She was just leaving, she uh, she came to drop something off, isn't that so?" I smiled at her.

"Thank you for stopping by," Jaxton said.

"I um," Raven nodded. "Yeah, uh-"

"Nonsense. Don't be silly, boys." Mom scoffed. "I am sure you are not in a hurry, right?" Mom asked her. "Even if you are, just come in, today is a happy day." Mom said, grabbed her hand and pulled her along with her.

I looked at Jaxton who rolled his eyes in annoyance. "That bitch," he muttered and followed them to the kitchen. I closed the door and followed as well.

"Oh hey, Raven right?" Dad asked, a smile on his face.

The devil smiled back. "Hi, Mr. Dexwell."

"How are you? It's been a while."

"Yeah, I.."

"Well, I am going to borrow Raven, we will be back later, okay?." I said and gripped her hand, pulling her up with me and into my room, while Jaxton followed behind.

"Ow, dude." She complained as I twirled her into the room. Jaxton closed the door once he came in and we both stared at her.

"Well, I guess I'm not welcome in yet." She said and combed her hair with her fingers. "And I guess your parents don't know about our fight."

"What do you fucking want, Raven?" I asked as I just gave her a blank stare. "Why are you in my house, serpent?"

Raven shrugged lightly. "I already answered that. I just....wanna talk?"

"Are you shitting me?" Jaxton laughed hysterically. "Did you come to taunt us again? Or wait," he paused and smiled like I did whenever I was with Johnathan, if you understand. "You came to remind us you don't need a fucking watchdog?"

She looked down. "Jaxton, I—"

"That you're not as helpless as I am, hmm?" He cocked his brow, I just folded my arms and looked at Jax. He was repeating the same words she said to me at the game, the words really did get to him. His eyes held hatred in them and I knew he was back to hating her. "That you're not as helpless as someone who had a relationship with a man ten times his age!"

Raven's face paled.

"Isn't that what you said?"

She looked from him and to me. "You told him?"

"No, fortunately I was right there when you told him that." Jaxton replied.

"He was." I nodded. "So, I didn't need to do to the honours of exposing your selfish ass"

Raven swallowed. "Jax, I'm sor-."

"Don't even apologize." He cut her off. "I don't want any of that fake apology. You don't even need to be sorry, you said what you needed to."

"You did." I nodded.

"And now you walk in here and act like it's all fine?" Jax chuckled. "No."

"You said some pretty hurtful things," I chuckled. "And for what? Because I didn't fucking tell you I kissed a boy? Do you know how stupid that was? I have done a whole lot of stupid things, Raven, but you take the belt with this." I folded my arms. "And now you wanna come back like everything is fine?"

"I am...so sorry." Her voice broke.

"I do not trust your raggedy, back stabbing ass, you fucking bitch from hell. The people who fucking tolerate your ass on a daily basis are the real heroes in this world, y'know? They don't even know who they are dealing with, and you are a horrible person, you will never change." Jaxton said.

I looked over at Raven who appeared hurt by Jaxton's words, her lips quivered while she looked down at the floor, her eyeballs slightly shaking and her eyes red.

"Jaxton," I called softly. "Calm down."

I looked at her, the sadness were back in her eyes. I turned my gaze back to Jaxton. "Jax, calm down."

"What do you mean calm down? You have no idea how many times I tried to make it right with her Dylan,"

I frowned. What was he talking about? "What do you mean?"

"I didn't tell you cause I didn't want you to hate her that much, I have tried to talk to her about what happened. She humiliated me right in front of her stupid cheerleaders."

Why was I just hearing this?

Raven took a step forward. "Jaxton, I..."

He rose his hand, stopping her. "Don't even. You know some people can never change." he said and glared at her. "They will always be the bitch they were from the beginning," He said and turned his gaze to me. "I'm not gonna be here and listen to whatever she has to say, I won't." He gave her one last glare and walked out of my room, shutting the door.

I looked back at Raven, with no expression whatsoever. She humiliated Jaxton?

"Well, I guess he's mad at me." She cleared her throat lightly.

"Him? Nah," I waved it off and smiled. "He can't be. I mean you humiliated him, called him helpless and used Vaughn against him. Pfft, how can he be mad at you? In fact, he doesn't even hate you at all." I gave her a big fake smile.

She sighed and placed her hair behind her ear. "I get it, you don't have to go all ninja on me and try to make me feel worse."

"Are those the words you should be using right now? Because I might be talking to you right now but i am pissed at you. You spoke about Jaxton like he was a nobody, but he is my friend and he lives with me. He is my best friend, and i might have known you before him but that doesn't give you any right to talk smack about him at all"

"I know," she tucked her hair behind her ear. "I—I'm sorry, I don't know why I said all that, I really didn't mean it."

"Are you sure about that? Cause when people are angry, they say exactly what they have in their heart. You are no better than all the villains in our school, are you?"

Raven said nothing and just stared at me with pain in her eyes.

"Well, he hates you., so yeah?"

"And, do you?"

"Do I what?" I cocked my brow at her.

"Hate me?" She asked.

I sighed. "I don't know. You ignored me every time I tried to talk to you in the halls, and after what you said at the game and even getting mad at me cause I didn't tell you about a stupid kiss that meant nothing. Plus, do I really have to tell you everything about everyone i kiss? Raven, that's not how this works. You don't get mad over something like that cause it makes no fucking sense. I mean you kiss a lot of guys and I don't ask you who you kissed over the weekend, you said what you said and honestly, i just feel indifferent." I shrugged.

Raven just stared at me, as if trying to read my mind and figure if i was being sarcastic or real.

"I'm serious here, Jean Grey." I rolled my eyes. "No sarcasm, so stop trying to read my mind. I do not hate you."

Raven smiled softly. "Well, that's a relief." She said and looked elsewhere.

Something was definitely wrong and I knew it but I couldn't place my hand on it, she wouldn't just show up for no reason.

"What happened, Raven?"

"What?"

"Why are you in my house and what are you not saying? Your pride wouldn't let you come here except if you truly needed us, so open that goddamn mouth and tell me what is wrong."

"N-Nothing." Raven chuckled. "Don't be silly."

"Raven, I am not going to ask again, I don't read minds."

She looked at me and swallowed. "It's just...you were-" She trailed off and looked down once she realized her voice was breaking.

Was she...was she about to cry?

I frowned. "What happened at home?"

She rubbed her forehead with her palm and let out a deep sigh.

"Raven?"

The next thing I heard was her crying, she pushed her hair back as she tried wiping off her tears but kept tearing up.

Raven was practically the strongest person I knew, and here she was crying. She would never cry in front of anyone, she would never cry over something, which meant some bad shit had happened.

She sat down on my bed lazily, I turned to face her while I stood.

"Raven, tell me whatever happened. I can't exactly tell cause I am not a mind reader."

She sniffed. "You were right about that fucktard."

I knitted my brows. "Who? Rave be specific, there are many fucktards I know here in Eastwood."

She looked at me with her teary eyes. "Johnathan."

I froze at the sound of the name. What did that skullfuck do? He wouldn't...did he...?

"What happened?" I asked softly, sitting beside her.

She looked down at her shaky hands.

"Raven, what did he do? Talk to me" I began to panic. "Did he...Did he-" I swallowed.

She shook her head. "No, I stopped him before he could." She sighed.

I was a little relieved but I still wanted to know. "Tell me all that happened."

"It started at the party, after you spilled drink on him. I went over to him and asked what happened, he told me you were begging him for sex and he told you he wouldn't cause he was with me, then you got mad and spilled the drink on him."

My brows furrowed at the poor construction of his excuse. "What? Me? Ask him for sex?"

"Yeah," she snorted. "I know. I didn't believe him though, I knew it was a lie. I told him I knew whom you were, and the Dylan I know wouldn't do what he was telling me. He got mad that I picked your side over his and we got in a fight." She sniffed.

"Because of me?"

"Yeah."

"Good." I muttered.

"I decided to fix things up,"

"W-wait, you d-dont...you're not in love with him right?"

"God no," she gave a disgusted look. "I wanted to be the first to go out with the new hot addition in our school, I thought to try my luck with him, love? No."

"Makes sense." I nodded.

"So, I called him the next day, he said to come over to his place," she paused. "I went over and we started talking, cleared things out, he took me up to his room, I only went cause I thought 'hey, what's there to lose'. " She shrugged. "We started making out, he wanted to go further and I told him no. We kept making out and he tried again and I just stopped making out with him cause I might be popular and go out with boys and all, but I'm not Quinn and I have my standards."

I just gave a little nod while waiting for her to continue.

"And then he pu-" she shut her eyes.

"Raven?"

"He pushed me back to the bed and tried to have his way...with me."

"Oh shit! That asshole"

"He tried taking off my clothes and that was when my phone rang, he got distracted for a second and I took that as an opportunity, that's when I kneed him. I slapped him so hard with his keyboard which you just dragged out of his table, I kicked him again in his junk, harder this time before making a run for it."

I placed my hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry that happened, I did try to warn you about him cause I know that guy and he is not capable of liking anyone. He just wants to use people in a different way, you're a strong girl."

"I just keep thinking, what if my phone didn't ring at that moment?" The tears fell from her eyes.

"But it did. Hey, you're strong." I turned her to face me. "You're my best friend and I wouldn't abandon you. That asshole deserves payback and you don't need to cry," I wiped off her tears. "We'll give him what he deserves, the Raven i know would never cry. I know this is a bad situation so you are going to turn it into your strength." I said looking straight at her.

"Johnathan is an asshole, he'll always be that. You have no idea how far he has gone, he tried to force himself on you and knowing that family. They will do everything to get away with it. But this time, we're not letting johnny get away with this." I assured her. "You're Raven Frost, the killer frost and my best friend. You can handle anybody and anything. Tomorrow, you'll show him you can't be treated like shit. We'll show him that we all deserve respect."

Best friend.

That wasn't right....

Her brows slowly knitted in confusion. "W-What do you mean?"

I smirked the more. "He knows we had a fight and that you're my best friend, that's why he took more interest in you. So we'll just have to make him believe we reconciled before he came to town, but we had to play the enemies game to get him in our trap."

"Dylan, what are you saying?"

"We'll make him believe the apology thing you did to go over was our plan, and that the scheme he tried to perform in his room was recorded on your phone, a sound recorder." I smirked.

Raven relaxed, understanding where I was headed. "And scare the shit out of him."

"We'll have him believe we both have copies, we don't have any recordings so we'll act like we do and we need to act good. Johnathan is smart, way smart. We need to be careful."

She nodded. "Then what happens?"

"We'll make him apologize to you," I smiled.

"That wont-"

"In front of the whole school, at the cafeteria." I completed.

"That scum has a huge ego."

"I'm glad you noticed that too," I nodded. "That's why we need to be a step ahead of him, we've got nothing but we have to create something. Even though its imaginary, don't worry about it much." I said.

"Oh God, why didn't I listen?"

"I wonder why." I replied sarcastically.

"I'm gonna make sure he pays." She sniffed and smiled at me, it wasn't long before the tears fell again. "I just-"

"It's alright." I pulled her into a hug.

"I'm so sorry, I was just stupid."

I was quiet for a couple of seconds.

"It's fine. You are gonna be alright." I said. "I am sorry this happened to you."

One.

I spent the next thirty minutes, telling Raven how I knew Johnathan and everything about him and how much of a cunt he was.

"I can't believe I thought he was a nice guy." She said as she wiped her tears. "He seemed so convincing."

"That's Nathan for you. Scary mind fucker."

"I keep thinking about it, and I....What if he did rape me?"

"I understand that feeling. It doesn't go away quickly, but it will." I said and held her hand.

We were currently laying on my bed and looking up at the ceiling, it reminded me about the first time she came over.
"Are you sure, you don't like Henry?"

"He's a cunt."

"That wasn't my question."

I hesitated. "No. I don't like him."

"I mean, every time he wants to kiss you, you don't say no." She said and looked at me.

"I-" couldn't find the words.

"I thought so." She smirked.

"Its m-my stupid hormones." I shrugged.

"Mmhmm, sure Jan."

I rolled my eyes at her. "I'm serious, I don't like Henry."

"If you say so," Raven paused and sighed. "Would you...talk to Jaxton for me?"

"You should talk to him yourself. I am not doing that for you. " I shook my head.

"Please? I think you could make him hate me less."

"I won't be involved. It's your job to mend your relationship with him."

"You're right."

"How's your house?"

"Like hell."

"Oh," I mouthed.

"How's your house?"

"My mom's pregnant, so."

"Oh!" Her brows flew up. "We are having a baby Dexwell?"

"Apparently," I chuckled.

"At least, some good news."

"Right."

"Dylan," a knock came on the door and it opened. Mom walked in without even waiting for a reply.

Raven and I sat up and looked up from the bed and at her.

"Oh, thank God you're both not naked."

"Mom. Really?"

Raven chuckled.

"There's pizza downstairs, the guy arrived like ten minutes ago or so."

"And you're just telling us now, awesome." I fake smiled.

"I'm so glad that I'm having a second child." Mom scowled at me.

My jaw dropped. "What does that mean?"

"I heard about the baby," Raven cut in, smiling at mom. "Congratulations, Mrs. Dexwell."

"Thank you so much, Raven." Mom smiled back at her. "Hopefully its a girl, I'm just done with boys." She sighed.

"Excuse you?" I frowned.

Raven nodded. "Oh, I totally understand. Boys are just something else."

"I know right? I mean we can't deal with them." Mom groaned. "I live with three boys here. Two teenagers and a man who acts like a teenager sometimes. I need a girl around." She said tiredly.

Raven chuckled and got off my bed putting on her shoes. "She's gonna be so pretty." She grinned and walked over to mom.

"Yeah, she better have my features." Mom said as they both exited my room.

***

Jaxton was on his phone, mom and Raven were talking about something while dad looked like he was trying to defend himself over something mom said. Raven's laugh was half hearted, she was still very much bothered.

I walked over to them and sat next to Jaxton.

"Alright. Alright, if you say so." Mom chuckled.

Raven laughed as well, right before her phone beeped. She took it out of her back pocket and read the text. "I uh, I better start going. My brother needs my help with something." She said and flashed them a smile.

"Aw, so soon? You spent all your time with Dylan here."

I rolled my eyes at mom and took a slice of pizza, I took a bite as they talked.

"Alright then, hope we'll see more of you?" Mom asked, smiling at her.

She nodded. "Yeah, hopefully." She beamed.

"I'll see her to the door." I said and placed my half eaten pizza back in the carton, as I stood up.

We were walking to the door when I remembered her purse, so I ran up to get it for her and brought it down.

"Thanks." She said once I handed it to her at the door.

I nodded and walked with her to my front porch. "Don't forget our plan, I know whatever happened would weigh you down and you 'what if's' questions but, you've got me."

Raven hugged me tight. "Thank you." She said and turned, walking to her car.

I waited till she started her car and drove away. .

"Wow, at her age she owns a ferrari, who's daughter is she?" A voice close to me asked, startling me.

I let out a sigh once I saw mom standing next to me with folded arms and looking at the spot the car once was.

I frowned at her. "You scared the shit out of me."

She slowly turned her head to look at me. "What did I say about swearing?"

I blinked. "Sorry."

"You're doing the dishes for the next two weeks."

What?

"Mom!! That's unfair!" I scowled.

"A mother's punishment is always final." She beamed, and looked back at the spot the car once was. "No, seriously. Who's her father? How can she afford a Ferrari?"

I was about to answer but then didn't, I wasn't sure raven would want me to tell my mom. I mean, she said not to tell anyone and I don't know if my mom was an exception, but I wasn't gonna tell anyone.

"I'm not her boyfriend," I shrugged. "Ask her when next she comes over."

"Hmm." Mom turned her gaze back to me again and smiled. "I'm glad you guys settled your fight, I was beginning to wonder if we'd ever see her here." She said and walked back in.

I just stood there, I kept blinking in total surprise.

"You knew?" I asked as I followed her in.

"I'm your mother and this is my house, of course I knew."

"How long?" I asked as I closed the door

"Since you and Jaxton's fight," she replied as she walked back to the kitchen. "When she stopped coming over, I knew you all had a big fight." She shrugged.

Jax's eyes widen, we both exchanged looks of shock before looking back at my crazy but smart mother.

"Then I confirmed it when I saw her at the school during the game," She beamed, turning to me. "The way you both acted would fool anyone, not me." She shook her head.

"So you knew all along?"

"Of course, I'm not stupid." She snorted, chuckling.

Dad put an arm around her waist. "She knew all along and she told me about it."

I looked from her to him. "You too?"

He nodded.

"Damn, for old people, you both gossip a lot."

"Babe, I will slap him." Mom said to Dad.

"Shush. Leave him be." He kissed her cheek. "Well, I'm glad you all settled it."

"Yeah......all settled."

***

Next Day
Monday morning.

"Mom! We're gonna be late!" I shouted from the bottom of the stairs as I waited for her to come down and drive us. I looked at my wristwatch, it was 7:32AM. "MOM!!" I yelled.

"Coming! Coming!" She sang as she walked down the stairs. "Calm your horses, stupid."

"We're gonna be late and I have to be at school early."

Mom frowned. "Chill."

"I don't wanna have detention." I whined.

"Fine, fine. Let me just have tea."

"Noooo!" Jax groaned. "We're gonna be late, Bonnie, and I can't afford to be late at all." He said as if he was gonna cry.

"Mom, you are not having any cup of tea this morning! We've been calling you for the past five minutes!" I scowled at her.

"I'm gonna have my tea first."

"It's alright, sweetie." Dad said as he rushed down and gave mom a kiss on the lips. "Come on boys, I'll drop you on my way."

"Mom's just being lazy. You're being lazy momma, but I love you." I said as I picked my bag up.

"Shut up." She replied.

"You're just pregnant, Mrs. Dexwell. Don't be lazy."

"Dylan, stop being mean to your mother or you'll walk to school." Dad said as picked up his keys from the table.

"Fine." I pouted.

"Come on," Jax signaled to me as he walked towards the door.

"You should stop being lazy, Mrs. Bonnie Dexwell." I said as I followed Jaxton.

"I'm so glad we're having another baby." Mom sighed.

I had to fight the urge to scream FUCK YOU and give the middle finger.

"Love you." Dad kissed her again and jogged after us.

***

"Well, I've never been to your school." Dad said as he looked outside the car window.

"Well, I'll make sure to get in trouble so you get called in." I gave him a smile as I unbuckled my seatbelt.

"Your mom would bury you alive." He chuckled.

"True, bye dad." I said as I got out, shutting the door.

"Bye, Mr. Dexwell." Jaxton waved as he closed his side of the door.

We both began to walk into the school.

"Your mom's gonna use this pregnancy thing as an excuse for a long time." Jax chuckled.

"I know right." I let out a groan.

As we walked through the entrance door, Jaxton and I walked to our lockers.

"Henry's coming your way, I'm gonna leave you both." Jax ranted all at once in a whisper. Before I could process all he could said, he was already walking away from my locker and that's when I saw Henry coming my way as he left.

"Asshole " I muttered, once Jaxton shot me a smirk behind Henry.

"Hey,"

"Hey?" I frowned at him.

"Why didn't you meet with me yesterday? I waited for a long time for you to fucking show up." he snarled.

"Henry, I'm literally not in the mood for your arrogant attitude. I mean I didn't realize meeting with you was so important than my mom who fainted and had to go to the hospital," I shook my head and shut my locker. "Nah, not important."

His expression softened. "Oh, I...I'm sorry. Is she...is she okay?"

I nodded. "She's fine." I sighed

"I just...I didn't know and I tried calling you throughout the day but you weren't answering and later it went dead." He said softly.

"Oh, sorry. My phone died afterwards." I scratched the back of my head. Having Henry stand next to me and talk to me in such a tone was quite confusing, it was also relaxing and he was talking to me in public. Henry wouldn't want that.

"Oh I see," He nodded. "I needed to talk to you about something."

"What?" I asked curiously, knitting my brows.

"It's about-"

Suddenly I heard gasps and murmurs from students, a guy was walking and bumped into someone falling on his ass cause he was looking at something, something behind me. I turned and walking in was my best friend Raven. She was putting on a really short back leather skirt that showed her long legs, long stiletto heels and a black crop top as well. Her hair was was tied into a ponytail, leaving some strands of red hair by the sides. Lips were painted red, matching the color of her shoes. A smile plastered on her face, she was looking so gorgeous and it looked like she was cat walking in slow motion. She definitely didn't look like the same girl who came crying in my house, last night. She was definitely the center of attraction right now, how can she look this hot after a bad night?

Then a guy walked up to her, blocking her path. That guy being Johnathan, he was smirking and saying something to her which I couldn't hear.

"I'll see you after school, Henry." I said and walked away from him and towards them.

"You just look so tempting." I heard him say, right before I stood next to her with a big smile.

"Hello, good people of Eastwood." I greeted

Johnathan looked at me with disgust. "What do you want, stormie? Raven and I are having a conversation."

"Oh, my apologies" I smiled at him and looked at Raven. "Hello, Raven."

Raven turned to me and flashed me a smile. "Hi, Dylan. Looking good today."

"And you look stunning."

"I know." She replied.

Johnathan looked at her and then at me and back at her. "So what? You guys are back to being best buddies?"

Raven let out a perfect, small laugh. "Whoever said we broke up?"

I tilted my head to the side. "You know this school is filled with gossips." I shook my head.

"And liars." She added.

"Haters."

"Suckers."

"Rapists." I finished up and shot up my brows.

Johnathan's tensed up, his mouth slowly opened and then he understood. "She told you, didn't she?" He asked through gritted teeth and glared at her.

She just arched her brow in reply with a smile. "He wasn't currently present, but he was there." She shrugged.

He frowned, confused. "What do you mean?"

"Who do you think came up with the apology thing?" I asked with a smirk.

He gulped but then smiled, as if he wasn't bothered. "No one would be live you." He chuckled. "People already think...."

"Fuck what they think," I cut him off. "They'll believe us, when they see the evidence." I grinned.

He stood still and in his eyes I saw him freak out for a second. "What evidence?" He asked, still trying to smile. Then the bell rang, just in time.

"We have biology. can't afford to be late." I said and patted his shoulder, before walking past him.

"I'll make sure you regret what you did" Raven said with an evil smile before walking past him as well.

"You did good." I said to her as we walked.

"You think this plan will work?" She asked, talking just as low as I was, not exchanging looks.

"Just trust me. We just need his confession."

She nodded. "He doesn't really look bothered about it."

"That's why we need to make him believe we have a recording and get him scared, he'll spill it out."

Fooling him was what we needed to do right. That guy was cunning as fuck.

She sighed. "Hopefully."

"Don't worry about this, you've got me." I smiled at her, she smiled back at me, mouthing a 'thank you'. "One question, how in the world did you transform yourself? I know I said to be convincing but you look really hot." I admitted. "I'd do you if I was straight."

She chuckled. "Thanks for the weird compliment, Dylan"

***

The entire day, I've been receiving compliments concerning how I spilled that drink on Johnathan on Saturday, it was weird.

Jon and I were seated at our table, talking about our weekends, when Jax came along with his own food and sat beside Jon.

"I just had my cousins over during the weekend, so much noise. Nothing special." Jon shrugged. "You?"

"Well, my mom fainted and she's pregnant and would have lost the baby if I hadn't found her in time," I shrugged. "Nothing special." I said casually as if it was nothing, as I ate my salad.

His eyes were popped out and his jaw was dropped. "Wh...What? Is she okay?"

I nodded. "Oooh, Jaxton also had a fun weekend." I turned my gaze to him.

Jon looked at him and waited for his response. Jax furrowed his brows and looked at Jon. "Well, my mom who didn't care about my 'almost raped' incident, and doesn't give a shit about me just showed up at Dylan's doorstep, creating drama and both mom's got into a fight," He flashed him a smile. "Nothing special." He said, just as calm as I did.

"You...You both are crazy." Jon let out am awkward laugh. "You both had it rough huh?"

I tsked. "We'll live."

"Hey, boys," Raven called, getting our attention. We all turned to our left and watched her make her way towards us, she sat beside me with her perfect smile. She was good at faking a smile, so good. "Oh, hey Jon. I see you're now part of the circle."

"Yeah, hi." He replied, awkwardly.

"I gotta go," Jax said and stood up.

"Jaxton," I called softly, forcing a smile on my face.

"I'm not sharing a table with her," he shook his head. "I'll go eat elsewhere." He picked up his tray.

"Jax, you're breaking one of our rules."

He frowned. "What rule?"

"The rule of not leaving the table when we're all eating until lunch time is over, no matter what."

He shot up one of his brows. "That rule doesn't exist."

"Yeah, I just made it up. So sit down please."

He looked at me and at Raven, then me. "I'd rather get stabbed in the balls." He said and was about to leave, when I opened my mouth to speak but Raven beat me to it.

"No, it's okay! I'll just leave." She said and stood up. Jaxton didn't even look at her for a second. "I hope one day we get to talk about this, I'm really sorry, Jaxton."

Jax said nothing and just looked down at his tray.

"I'll see you later, Dylan." She rubbed my shoulder, I placed my hand on hers before she could remove it.

"Jaxton. I know it will take you a long time for you to forgive her, and I completely respect that decision of yours, because honestly, I don't think I have completely forgiven her myself. I just....she's a maniac and an asshole, but, there's a problem we need to help her fix."

I knew Jaxton so well, he wasn't that kind of a person who couldn't hold a grudge for long. He was the kind to say the meanest thing when he was mad, only to apologize later. Honestly, they were almost the same when it came to hurting someone's feelings too deep. He understood hurt, but also knew how to use your weakness against you. Like how he used Isaac. Jaxton was a sweet boy, but he is not what everyone thinks he is. He's a cute bean, but he's also got his own darkness. That part of him he doesn't want anyone else to see. And right now? I knew he was holding back from saying something, something cruel because then, everyone would say; "Who is this Jaxton?"

But I wanted to see what part of himself he would be at this moment.

He swallowed hard and sighed. "What could possibly be the problem?"

"Let's just say, we kinda need each other." I told him.

He cursed under his breath and called out to Raven, who stopped walking and turned.

I watched him.

He was trying to pick his words carefully.

"Sit." He said. "You found this table first anyways."

Raven came back quickly and looked at Jaxton. "I am really really sorry, Jaxton. I know you're mad at me and you deserve to be, I just—"

"It's okay." He cut her off, faking a smile. "Let's not talk about it, shall we?"

She nodded.

I didn't take my eyes off him. That eye was twitching.

How long can you hide that part of yourself in there, Olson?  How long?

"Group hug!" Jon clapped, and Jaxton and I looked at him instantly.

"Too soon?" He questioned.

"Too soon." Jaxton and I replied.

"Sorry." He pouted, childishly.

"Hello, guys!!"  We all turned to the voice to see Quinn walking towards us with her background dancers.

I huffed. "Oh, for the love of God!"

"Back as friends? Sweet " She was taunting us, or trying to.

"What do you want, Quinn?" Raven asked, still smiling even though she was annoyed by Quinn's presence.

"I just find this sweet." She beamed. fake. "How long till it breaks again? Just another secret." She chuckled and looked at Raven. "You might look like a slut out of pornhub but you've still got no class." She fired.

Oooooh.

I looked at Raven but she just stared at Quinn with a smile on her face, she said nothing. No comebacks. Nothing.

"Can't say anything? Wow, the gays have really humbled her." She said and I frowned at the audacity.

Even then, Raven said nothing and just smiled. If she wasn't gonna say anything then I would.

"Okay, that is it. Listen here, you—"

Raven rose her hand at me and shook her head. "Don't."

I frowned at her, that smile turned to a smirk and didn't leave her face.

"A slut, a gay guy who is obsessed with older man" she said now staring at Jax , she then turned her gaze to me. "And plain you. You deserve better but I guess losers always hang around each other."

"Better this table than plastic." I retorted with a giggle.

Quinn huffed. "Anyways, I gotta go now. I just wanted to make sure you all were okay and your friendship was still intact. Love you guys." She said and walked away.

I turned to raven.

"What the fuck? Why didn't you say something or let Dylan say anything?" Jax asked, before I could even utter those words, he'd been thinking the same.

"You both have known me for long and still don't know me." She smirked.

Jax and I frowned. "You've been smirking for a long time, an evil one." I stated.

She just smirked the more.

"What are you up to?" Jax asked curiously, with a raised brow.

"You'll find out tomorrow." Raven sighed. "I don't need to exchange words with her, it is honestly a waste of time. Haven't you heard the saying 'action speaks louder than words'?" She asked and added. "I think that's how the saying goes." Raven shrugged, smiling like she was the one who won. "Now, let's eat." She said and walked back to the table.

Jax and I looked at each other and back at her.

She was up to something. Something evil.

I was about to walk back to the table when I saw Henry talking to a certain somebody 'Johnathan'. I froze once I saw them.

"He's after him." Jax said, also looking at them.

"I don't care." I said and deep down, I knew I was lying.

I walked back to our table, my phone vibrated in my pocket as i sat down. I took it out, it was a text from that same unknown number.

Unknown Number:

Strike two.

THIRD PERSON POV
Dylan walks down the stairs in his pyjamas pants and a grey top , his hair rough. It was nine pm and he had been on his phone for a while, speaking to his Seattle best friend whom he had to leave behind to move to this town.

The thirsty boy makes his way to the kitchen to get a glass of water. He turns on the light and his heart skips a beat once he sees a figure standing in the dark.

"Jesus!" He placed a hand on his chest.

His mother looks up from her cup of tea and at her son, her brows furrowed.

"God, woman, you really wanna murder me?" Dylan asks, letting out a breath of relief.

"Sorry, sweetie, I got lost in my thoughts." She replies as he makes his way to the sink. Dylan takes out a glass cup and turns on the tap, watching it full his cup.

"What are you doing here in the dark?" He questions.

Bonnie shrugs. "Nothing, I just needed some air."

Dylan turns to look at his mother and gives her a knowing look. "Ma'am, I have known you since I was in your womb, you're lying. What's wrong?" He asked and sipped from his glass.

Bonnie sighs and looks down at her belly, placing a hand on it. "I'm pregnant." She says with a slight chuckle. "I never thought...I don't know, I just ruled it out, you know? Pregnancy. I'm happy of course, yeah. But it's just...I never thought about being pregnant. I don't know how to explain it." She huffs and looks down at her tea for a bit, while Dylan listens.

"After your brother," she gulps. "I just never thought about having children, or if I was even capable of. Until this happened and it gave me a reality check that I have been delusional and holding on to something for years. I never let go." Bonnie looks at her son, her eyes clouded with tears.

Dylan listens, saying nothing. It had been the first time in a long time that they have spoken about Isaac. They never really mentioned him, only during his death anniversary, and Dylan hated that.

"I loved your brother, always did and always will, and I miss him with every blood in my body, every single day." She holds back her tears.

"But you don't talk about him." Dylan mutters.

"Because I don't wanna live in that year. I needed to let go. I am a mother, and it hurts me everyday knowing that I had a child who died." The tears fell. "You lost your brother and it was hell for you, I know. But, I lost a son, a child I carried for nine months, he was in my body and I....I lost him." She quickly wiped away her tears.

"But I couldn't even properly grieve, I had to be strong, because I also had another child, and I needed to make sure he wasn't going to get lost in his grief." She explains, shaking her head.   "A child who has a little bit of hate for me."

Dylan shakes his head. "I don't hate you, no."

"Oh, but you do." Bonnie chuckles slightly. "You just brush it aside. You hated me for still being with your father, after what happened."

Dylan gulps, saying nothing. He couldn't, because she was right about that part.

"You judged me everyday."

"I wasn't judging you."

"Oh you were! Every day, I could feel your eyes on me, disgusted and filled with so much anger."

"And what would you have had me do, huh?" Dylan suddenly retorts. "My brother died and his mother was still dinning with his murderer, what did you expect me to do? Smile and tell you you were doing great?" He huffs. "I was hurt. I felt like you weren't listening to me, like nobody was really trying to listen to me."

"I went back to your father, but it doesn't mean I never thought of leaving." Bonnie replies. "You think I wanted to sit and dine with him knowing he was driving drunk and my son was in that car, scared shitless? No. I asked God many a times, why?!! Why my son?! Why not my husband? Why didn't he switch them? How could I get over losing my child." The tears rolled down her cheeks but she kept a stern look.

"But your father needed help, he just never was able to get it. I blamed myself too for your brother, you know? Maybe if I had left your father outside, maybe if I had retired upstairs with you both that night, I thought of many alternatives that could have saved your brother." She gulps.

"But then I thought about you, and your father. You must have blamed yourself so much that you hated yourself for it and became someone else entirely. You must have thought "maybe if I had stayed with him all night, he'd still be here." And I was hurting for you because I knew you were hurting so much."

Dylan's eyes were filled with tears as he listened, the veins popping out from his forehead and his face red. He wipes the tears and sniffs, looking away.

"My sweet child was suffering and I didn't know exactly how to help him." She cried. "And those shoes you were in, was the same shoes your father was in that made him go to alcohol."

Dylan frowns, confused. "What do you mean?"

"You think you know everything, but you don't, Dylan. And I wish I could tell you, but it is not my story to tell." Bonnie says and wipes her tears.  Dylan is confused and wonders if there was more he never knew.

"I am having a baby, but rest assured this child is not a replacement for your brother. They are their own person, and I will love and protect them with everything I have."

Dylan smiles. "This one will be a little devil."

Bonnie chuckles and sniffs. "I honestly do not doubt that." She says and looks at Dylan. He has a smile on his face, one forced, but slowly it changes into a sad frown and his brows curl up as the tears begin.  He walks over to his mom and she drops her tea, opening her arms and pulling him into a tight hug.

Dylan cries on her shoulder. "I miss him everyday." He mutters, tearfully.

Bonnie nods, crying. "I know. I know, sweetie." She sniffs.
