Chapter 72

THIRD PERSON POV

Johnathan puts on his jacket as he stares at himself in the mirror. He smoothens his hair backwards and smiles at his self in the mirror for a while, he picks a key from the back of his mirror and walks to his closet. Johnathan gently opens it pushes his clothes to the side,  staring at the little square shape on the wall with a keyhole. He inserts the key in it and turns, unlocking it. He pulls it and it comes out like a drawer. In it is a necklace with a green star, a black left glove and a photo. He takes out the photo and looks at it, it is a photo of him and Dylan sitting on a red car.

Johnathan has his hand around Dylan's shoulder and Dylan just has a drink in his hand and looks bored, and on Dylan's neck is the necklace with the green star.

Johnathan stares at the photo for a short while. "I'll take everything from you until you have no choice but to come back to me. You just watch how it all plays out, dear Dylan." He says and smiles.

Dylan's P.O.V

I walked into the school with a serious expression, Jaxton kept asking what was wrong with me but what could I say? My hormones was really fucking me up? Henry knew how to tease me? Get me hard and leave me and now all I could think of is murder?

Nuh uh.

The school was definitely not how it was yesterday, sure it still had some posters of homecoming but today, there were many of them. Too much blue, the homecoming banner was hanged at the end of the hall and you could tell the committees were really working hard on this and were fast on it as well.

"Hmm, I wouldn't have recognized this place."

"It's nice, isn't it?" Jax beamed.

"It's okay."

There were boys around asking girls out to homecoming, some held flowers and some box of chocolates, some were just normal and didn't need to bribe the girl. To my left was a guy from the soccer team holding a huge teddy bear while obviously asking a cheerleader to homecoming, she squealed, kissed him and took the bear.

I rolled my eyes. "So stupid," I muttered and rested on my locker.

"It's actually not stupid."

"So, who are you going with?"

Jax shrugged. "No one. I'm a committee, I'm pretty sure I won't have the time to dance with my date."

"Are you just saying that because no one asked you yet?"

He hissed. "You didn't have to be mean about it."

"Why don't you ask Dominic?" I folded my arms.

He snorted. "Are you kidding? Why would I ask him? And besides he doesn't even go to our school and I'm pretty sure homecoming isn't his kinda thing and-"

"Jaxton!" I cut him off. "Ask him. If you really don't have anyone to go with, which you don't. Call him and ask him if he'd like to be your date to homecoming. What's the harm in trying?"

He seemed to be giving it a thought and sighed. "You're right, I'll....I'll call him."

I smiled. "Good."

"What about you? Going with Henry?"

I frowned. "Why? I'm not even coming. Homecoming and prom ain't my thing." I rolled my eyes. "At this point, I'd rather go with Christian."

"You know you gotta stop leading him on." He said with a cocked brow.

I shrugged. "I'm not!"

"Sure." He didn't sound like believed me. I wasn't leading Christian on, he knew about Henry. "So why don't you wanna go with Henry?"

"Jaxton! Just because I like Henry and he says he likes me doesn't mean we're in a relationship. I'm not gonna ask him to go with me and plus I don't even wanna go. Henry's probably gonna be homecoming king and so he has to go but I don't even know what I'm gonna do there. The only time I find it really charming to wear a suit and dance happily is at a funeral but no one's dying so there's no way that's happening." I flashed him a smile.

Jaxton looked at me with a frown. "What is wrong with you?"

"A lot of things." I smirked. I instantly spotted a certain girl with pretty, blonde, long dreads. She was wearing her cheerleading uniform.

Gwen.

"Speaking about homecoming, I have to fix something. Give me a sec." I said and made my way towards her real quick at her locker. "Hey!"

Gwen turned to me and smiled once she saw me. "Oh hey, cutie!"

"How are you doing?"

"I'm okay. I can't wait to get this whole exam shit done and get ready for summer and everything that comes with it and also BTS concert, it's next week." She grinned.

"I haven't even made plans about seeing them." I sighed.

Gwen chuckled. "You wouldn't want to miss out."

"Yeah, i wouldn't." I smiled. "So, homecoming. Going with anyone in particular?" I quivered my brow.

"Are you asking me that because of Jon?"

"Affirmative" I answered quickly.

She sighed and closed her locker. "Look, Jon's a...a really great guy. He's amazing and funny and cute but he likes Raven and I don't want him using me to try and gain Raven's attention and make her jealous or stuff. Raven's my friend and as witchy as she may seem, she's pretty awesome and she used to complain about Jon but now she doesn't so maybe she's warming up to him and-"

"Okay, I'm gonna stop you right there." I interrupted. "Jon doesn't have a crush on Raven."

Her brows knitted. "What? But you said-"

"I know what I said and I only said that to make you jealous, I know you like him as well cause you laugh at his really lame jokes that makes me want to murder him and I caught you staring at him one time in English and I know about you two microwaving bread." I said all at once. "I know you're trying to protect a friend and be a good one, but Jon doesn't like Raven that way but you on the other hand? He does. I thought it'd be obvious to you now since he's been trying to get your attention, but I guess you're really blonde."

"That's an insult, isn't it?"

"I'll let you guess." I chuckled. "The boy's liked you since forever. He thinks you're funny and pretty and nice like you think he is too, and he's been trying to ask you out but somehow he just cannot figure it out." I shrugged. "He even likes BTS." I lied. "I thought the first thing to do was to make you jealous to realize that you like him but that didn't work out so well-"

"It kinda did." Gwen replied, looking at the floor and back at me. "I know I acted all cheerful about it b-but I was maybe a but like 'fuck, well off to the next one, shall we?' ". She chuckled.

I smiled. "I really like you•

Raven grinned and then it disappeared and a horrified look clouded her face. "Oh God, I think I turned him down when he wanted to ask me to homecoming." Gwen gasped. "Oh lord, that must have crushed him. I'm so stupid." She face-palmed. "What am i gonna do? I really cut him off and said I had a date which I don't   I didn't know he liked me! I don't know if he'll understand me."

"Relax, Gwen".

"Now I feel like such a fool, I think Chuck's gonna ask me to homecoming later because he said he wants to see me after school. He better not have those stupid cards and do it in front of the whole school."

"Well whoever Chuck is, he better find a new date cause you're taken. Go find Jon and tell him you're going to homecoming with him but don't just say it, make sure he asks you and if he chickens out, slap him for me." I flashed her a smile.

"I love you but if you do not end up together, that will be my thirteenth reason."

Gwen chuckled. "Okay okay, I will go find him. And also, thank you so much for telling me." She said and hugged me. Gwen shut her locker and quickly scurried off.

I sighed and smiled. I'm proud of myself for accomplishing things like this. I'm an awful Cupid I know, the worst of the worst when it comes to the matchmaking. I end up ruining it at first and then I have to fix it.

"Wanna fill me in?" Jax voice pulled me out of my trance.

I looked at him with a smile. "Thanks for the offer but I'm pretty sure only Dom has the right to fill you in." I wiggled my brows at him.

Jaxton grimaced and looked at me like I was drenched in sperm or something. "You are disgusting, oh God." He said and walked away.

I laughed. "What? Don't walk away from me." I said as I followed. "Hey! Get your almost virgin ass back here!" I said out loud making him walk faster.

***

We were done with our exams for today and I couldn't wait for it all to be over, throughout the day all I could see was homecoming proposals, I didn't know people did that, I actually thought it was only for prom and that's why they called it promposals but I guess not.

I couldn't find Raven anywhere and decided to check the library since I had checked everywhere and didn't see her. I looked almost everywhere in the library and even asked some people but Raven wasn't here and they didn't know where she was. I sighed after asking the seventh person, I turned and almost bumped into the devil's incarnate who was standing right in front of me with a smirk. An evil one.

"What do you want, Johnathan?" I sighed.

"I of course wanted to see you."

"Well I don't reciprocate that feeling or desire, because any moment and I could mistakenly forget a screwdriver in your eye and we both don't want that. Actually, I do, but I don't wanna go to jail. So bye." I said as I walked past him.

Johnathan instantly grabbed my arm and twirled me to face him. I frowned, shocked, and looked at him, then at his hand then back at him. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I said I wanted to talk." Johnathan said and let go off my arm.

"What is it?"

"Are you happy?"

"What do you care?"

"Shh," the new librarian, Mrs. Simon, who was probably in her fifties hushed, glaring at us.

"Sorry." I mouthed.

"I just wanna know." Johnathan shrugged and looked back at me, speaking in a low tone now.

I cocked my brow. "I am happy. So?"

Nathan nodded, smiling like a creep. "Good, cause I do want you to at a hundred right now."

I was tired of this cat and mouse chase with this predator.  "When are you gonna stop with these stupid, empty threats of yours, Johnathan? No, when will you stop trying to bother me? When will you leave me the fuck alone? You really are obsessed with me."

"And is anything wrong with that?"

"Yes."

"And Henry? How's the sex?"

I grimaced in disgust. "First of all, that is none of your business."

"You are shameless you know that?"

I blinked. "Excuse me?"

"You've turned into a slut and I'm not even surprised about it," he chuckled. "You let him kiss you in front of the whole school and you both aren't even an item. You're just his sex doll." He laughed.

I laughed. "Oh come on now, Nathan. The hypocrisy is funny. You? Calling me a slut?" I laughed again. "You really cannot be sober , right now, or maybe it's the family dead braincells thing catching up to you."

"Shh!" Mrs. Simone shot us that dirty look again.

"Sorry," Johnathan and I said at the same time in a whisper and flashed her a quick smile before looking back at each other.

"You don't know me that well, Dylan. You only saw what I wanted you to see and you don't even know how bad I can be just yet." Johnathan huffed. "Maybe I should show you."

"You know, I know exactly the kind of person you are, Johnathan. I know you more than you think you know yourself."

"I made you." He said with furrowed brows.

"No, no, you didn't." I shook my head at him.

"You know I did." He smirked cruelly. "How's Jaxton doing anyways? I mean, I did give him a little advice about a week ago, did he tell you about it?"

I just stared at him in confusion, wondering what he was talking about and by the look on my face, he figured it out.

"Oh he didn't, huh? That's sad. But you know what's fun about your friendship? The fact that you three are so close but keep secrets from each other. So sweet." He grinned.

"What the hell did you tell Jaxton?" I asked coldly.

He snickered. "Easy tiger. I can't tell you, I'm sure Jaxton doesn't want you to know about it so who am I to say?" He shrugged.

"You son of a-"

"Bah!" He rose a finger, shutting me up. "Don't curse in the library, shhh." He smirked.

"You are fucking unstable."

Johnathan chuckled. "Oh, Dylan." He took a step forward, his smile had vanished and a cold look clouded his face. "You have no idea. You think you are better than I am? We are the same, love. We are both horrible people, the two of us. We don't get that happy ending, we don't deserve one but each other. You think I'm worse than you are but deep down, you know you're just as horrible as I am."

"I am nothing like you."

Johnathan laughed manically. "Oh, but sweety you are. You and I were the IT couple, remember? And somehow, you never really introduced me to your parents as your boyfriend then, that sucked."

"I am glad I didn't, and I am nothing like you."

"I am sure Amanda would disagree." He said and smirked.

I gulped. "She deserved it. She—"

"Don't try to justify what you did, love. You've done a lot of bad things back in Seattle and suddenly you wanna become good and have a happy ending? No." He shook his head. "We go way back. We don't stop. We are gonna be competitors and are gonna fight each other till the last! No one comes in between this thing we have. My goal in case you've forgotten is to make life miserable for you."

"And that was my goal too but then I grew up and I guess," I scoffed. "You still haven't grown up. You still live in this fantasy world that we're two kids that share the same toy or two kids that have to fight to become better, but I'm not doing that with you, cause I know I am better than you."

"That's what you tell yourself." He smiled. "But you and I know that's not true."

"I know I'm not a rapist." I shrugged, folding my arms. "How about y—, ooooh wait. Tsk. It's not the same for you, unfortunately."

Johnathan stared at me for a while with a sinister smile. "Hmmph."

"What now? Cat's got your infested tongue?"

"Shhhh!! Mr. Dexwell! Mr. Smith!" Mrs. Simone called out angrily

I frowned a bit, wondering why she had to call out our names.

"Sorry." I muttered.

"My apologies." Johnathan gave her an innocent smile. She huffed and shot us another glare before going back to what she was doing and so did we.

"You know what?" I whispered. "You're really starting to get on my nerves and it's making me think of doing bad things to you. I should slit your wrists and watch you bleed out while man down plays in the background."

He smiled. "I like that attitude. That monster that you keep taming, why are you taming it?"

"You're sick."

"You think Henry actually likes you?" He chuckled. "Wait and see what happens. Has he asked you out yet?"

"You're gonna need a permit with Mr. Ashcroft and Mr. Dexwell's signature to get that piece of information out of my mouth."

Johnathan just smiled. "He hasn't, has he?"

"Why are you so obsessed with us?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

"That you are fucking miserable and envy me?"

His expression became scary all of a sudden. "Dylan, you underestimate me. You seem to have forgotten how I play my games, and I've let you win far so much. You seem to have forgotten that I always have a trump card in my pocket. You have also forgotten one more thing, Dylan." He stared blankly, his eyes carrying so much dark emotions.

"No matter how much you fight me, no matter what you do to try and bring me down, you will always need me to ignite that fire in you, and you know why? Because I put it there. I have been patient with you long enough. It's time to let out the dogs." Johnathan smirked evilly, his eyes darkened as he spoke and I knew at that moment that he was up to no good.

I swallowed, I had to admit that he frightened me at this moment, but I had to hold my ground. "You are a fucking assh-"

"You both will have to leave because you are making a hell of a noise!!" The Liberian angrily said. She was standing in front of us.

"Will you just fuck off!" I snapped at her, turning my anger to her instead.

"You really are such a fucking pain, you know that?" Johnathan scoffed at her. "Do you wanna lose your job?"

"Excuse me?" She was taken aback by our sudden attack.

"He asked you a question." I cocked my brows at her. "I'd answer with a no if I were you, ma'am. I know you got this job because you needed to control something for once in your miserable life, but maybe the reason your husband left you is because you were already a controlling, psychopathic bitch." I said and she gulped, astonished.

"Yes, ma'am, I know everything about you."

Her eyes widen in shock as she looked at me. "How dare you?"

"He's right! What do you really think you're doing? Your life is over and screwed up and being a librarian at forty doesn't mean 'starting afresh' " he air quoted. "It just means you're miserable and looking for how to still control people but guess what? You are an old bitch who is forever gonna be alone and nothing is gonna change that, not even our father in heaven can take care of that for you." Johnathan spat and smirked at her.

"Not forties, Nathan, fifties." I corrected. "Go find a meaning to life while you still can before your time runs out."

Johnathan looked at the watch on his hand. "It doesn't really look like you have much left anyways." He chuckled and looked at her.  "You be careful not to want to cross us, or we'll take care of you before you could count to five."

"He's not bluffing." I told her.

I smirked, her face went red. She swallowed the huge lump in her throat and walked away, probably to go cry.

I smiled and looked back at Johnathan who had a smile on his face and when our eyes met, the smile disappeared.

I cleared my throat. "As I was saying,"

He chuckled. "We still have our spark."

"We do not have any spark, Johnathan."

"We make the best team, you can't deny it. We fight each other every day but we best ruin people's life together." His smirk deepened.

I hated what he just said cause he was right, but he was Johnathan and everything about him was a death sentence.

"Me being here, makes you a better person." He said with a smile.

"No, no it doesn't. You are a parasite, Nathan, and I don't want you around me."

"You really do not mean that."

"You will leave me alone. You will leave my friends alone. And you will leave Henry alone." I said firmly. "You hear me?"

"You don't tell me what to do, Dylan."

"Then you better be careful, it might not end well for you."

"I like when you talk that way. It's hot." He licked his lips. I didn't understand how he kept going from dark to smirk and then stupid in less than five seconds.

I was annoyed and irritated.

"I hate you."

He grinned. "But you miss me."

"I'm not gonna repeat myself again, Johnny boy." I gave him a serious look. "Stay away."

"If Henry really liked you, he'd ask you to be his by now wouldn't he? I'm sure that's how it works." He shrugged. "But he didn't. I give what you and Henry have a week. Actually less than that. You'll see the kind of person he is with all that anger built inside of him, you think he's a nice person. He's like a werewolf, as angry as they come." He smiled.

"I don't care what you say. I like him and if you think these words are gonna scare me away then you really are delusional." I scoffed.

His smile disappeared and his face darkened again, this face I couldn't get used to. "You were right, you know? If I don't have what I want, then nobody and I mean nobody can get it." He said like a real evil villain. "I guess I'll see you around." He smirked evilly and walked away.

I shook my head at him

I walked out of the library, ignoring him. I was walking down the hall when I spotted Jaxton running towards me. I was feeling a whole lot like shit, and I needed air, but I could hold in that feeling a bit.

"Hey," I smiled at him, trying to sound calm cause after my conversation with the devil, I wasn't okay.

"Hey." He smiled back. "Okay, I have to go meet Zach now. Remember, don't say anything to him or anyone about this or he'll have my head on a plate."

I nodded. I wanted to ask him about what Johnathan had said, what did he tell him. "Hey, ja-"

His phone rang, his eyes widen as he looked at the caller. "Shit, I'm late and he's gonna kill me."

"He's paying you, isn't he?"

Jaxton sighed and nodded. "Yes, I told you already and now I have to go. I'll talk to you when I get home, see ya." He said and scurried out of the building.

I chuckled and was about to walk into the principal's office when I glanced down the hall right before I entered. I stopped at the door once I saw someone I wasn't supposed to see.

It was Zach.

I frowned the more and walked towards him. "Hey, squidward!"

He looked up from his phone and at me and disappointment filled his face as he rolled his eyes at me. "Oh God, now I'm gonna have bad luck through out the day." He mumbled.

Zach's buttons weren't properly done which meant he had just done something disgusting at school. It wasn't just an assumption, but he looked like it.

"First of all, go fuck yourself."

"What do you want, Dylan?" He gave me a bored look.

"Why are you still here?"

His brows knitted. "Excuse me?"

"I...well I know about Jaxton tutoring you so you don't need to act."

His eyes widen. "What? I told that...damn you Jaxton!" He sneered.

"Calm down, I'm not gonna make fun of you just cause Jaxton tutors you forever. Its just gonna be for a couple of years since you act all smart, but you're not."

"I hope you die soon."

I smiled. "Will you fuck me then?"

He gave me an irritated look. "You are sick."

"Now back to Jaxton, why are you here? I know you are an asshole, but actually making Jaxton hurry and wait for you at your meet up place for your tutoring when you're here taking your time is actually a dick move."

Zach blinked in confusion. "Woah! Woah! What the fuck are you talking about?"

"Didn't you just call Jaxton to meet you? Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about."

"Okay, how about you calm down and stop acting like a stupid asshole with no brain at all."

"That would be the definition of you."

"I didn't call Jaxton! We've been doing this tutor thing for a while, yes, but I have no appointment with Jaxton. Hell, we study using FaceTime these days because he's always busy helping your stupid ass or doing something that has to do with Raven. So no, I didn't call Jaxton. Get your facts right first before acting like a total dick!"

I just stood still. "What? Wait? Helping who?"

"Leave me alone." He said as he walked away.

I blinked, confused.

"Hey! Snowy!"

I turned to see Raven walking towards me with a smile, I sighed. "Where have you been? I searched all over for you."

She froze. "I've been busy helping Mr. Edwards with some papers." She shrugged.

I arched my brow and looked at her ruffled blouse. "You should seriously fix that. Mr. Edwards must have seriously made you work hard."

Raven looked at it and back at me. "Fine, I was in the closet with KC. He's been tempting." She smirked evilly.

I rolled my eyes and soon what Zach said came back. Where was Jaxton?

"What's wrong? You look like you lost a condom in your parents room and you're trying to remember." Raven said.

"I...It's Jaxton. I need someone to help me find where he is."

Her brows knitted. "Why? Is something wrong? Did anything bad happen?"

"N-No. I just...he's been lying to me about where he's been going and I need to figure what it is. I can't believe I fell for his lie. Wow."

"So, where is he?"

"I don't know Frankie! I really need to find out." I said as i took out my phone and called him, it rang but no answer, and i kept calling back and it was the same over and over.

"I'm worried."

"Maybe he went to tutor someone else."

"He would at least pick up, right?"

"Maybe his phone is on silent?"

"What if Johnathan has him?"

"What?"

"I don't know, I just have a bad feeling, something isn't right, and I know I should just let it be but it makes me worry, knowing fully well he wouldn't just not answer my calls."

"Fair point."

"And I am about to do something extra and so uncalled for at this moment." I said as I looked around.

Raven frowned. "And what is that?"

"I just need the smartest person I know to help me sort of track Jaxton's phone." I said and looked at her.

Raven's cocked a brow at me. "Why? Maybe the reason he didn't tell us was because he didn't want us to know? People do that you know?"

I shook my head. "You don't understand." I knew whatever he was doing, it was because of Johnathan. "Maybe yes, you are right, but I know how this plays out in the end, I have seen this a couple of times. Do you know anyone who can track his phone?"

"Your lover can." She said and looked behind me, I turned and spotted Christian at his locker.

"Christian? Track a phone?"

"He's that smart" she shrugged.

I nodded and walked towards him. "Hey, Christian!!"

"Hey," He looked at me and Raven in confusion. "What's up?"

"I need your help!"

"M-My help?'

"He just said that." Raven said and I elbowed her gently.

"Ow!" She cried.

"Why can't Henry help you?" He asked with a frown.

"Can you track someone's phone?" I asked instantly.

He nodded. "Yeah? How did you know that?" His brow rose.

I sighed and pulled him with me, Raven followed as we walked back to the library.

"What am I about to do?"

"What you can."

***

We were all at the library and Christian was on a computer, typing away on it while Raven and I watched out for him and covered him when someone was about to pass where we were so they wouldn't see.

"Found him yet?" I whispered.

"My answer is still the same as seven seconds ago, no." He whisper yelled as he typed continuously.

"I feel like a spy right now, but this is so wrong." Raven said. "It's like the advanced and dark version of finding nemo." She sighed.

"Why are you even tracking your friend's phone? Why don't you just not do that?" Christian frowned.

"My answer is the same as three minutes ago. We're looking out for him, believe it or not." I said with folded arms.

"You could have just asked Henry to do it for you, i mean you totally ditched me and I kept asking you out and instead of you to be plain with me and tell me you liked someone else, you made me believe I had a chance with you. You totally forgot about my existence and when you need help, you come to me." He said in the calmest tone ever but I knew he was hurt.

I bit my lip and looked at Raven guiltily. "I'm sorry, Christian. I didn't even know I liked Henry and I didn't even mean to d-"

"Found him." He cut me off......rudely if I may add. "He's about thirty minutes away from here."

Raven and I leaned and looked at the computer.

"Well, my job here is done. I'm leaving." He said and stood up.

I turned. "Um, thanks."

He looked at me. "It's okay, but please....don't ask me for any favor because you know I'm gonna help you out just cause I had a soft spot to you."

I swallowed. "You know that's not how it is, I do care about you."

"Yeah, sure." He said and walked out the door. "I'll see you around, maybe."

I sighed, I felt so bad. I turned to Raven and she came up to me, she placed a hand on my shoulder and smiled. "Everybody goes through this phase, he'll be okay. He just needs to get laid and find love and smile."

I gave her a questioning look. "What are you even saying?"

"I have no idea. I'm not good at this." She said and walked back to the computer. "Where is this?"

I followed her and looked at the place that showed where he is, I frowned.

What the fuck?

"I know that place."

"Where is it?" She asked, her brows knitted.

"That's his mother's house."
