Chapter 5

PICTURE IS HENRY
A week later.

I had a frown on my face as I walked through the halls, I was really exhausted. My mom and I had stayed up talking, talking about her high school days. Now, I've heard about her high school days a lot, but it still that story I sit down to listen to again and again.

My mom was an amazing woman, although she swore a lot and wanted to beat me with a shoe half the time, she was still my best friend. She was not  the kind of parent who'd say, they were always the A student, her head was in the books. Blah. Blah. Nope, not this one. She was the exact opposite.

She talked about how popular she was back in high school and how people adored her and loved her hair. My mom was the head cheerleader in her school, and when she showed me her high school photos, my jaw dropped because she was DROP ALIVE GORGEOUS.

My mother is thirty three. Yup, she had me at a very very young age. She was 16 when she got pregnant for the captain of the baseball team. Her husband was a year and a couple months older than her at that time and was her boyfriend. My mom said she still went back to the same high school, even after she had me. She was not the mean girl but she was the mean girl, if that makes sense.

My grandparents decided to take care of me, my mom's own parents of course, so mom could finish high school and college. My mom didn't miss my first word or when I started to walk, she was there. A 16year old raising a kid, everyone talked but she never considered me a mistake and instead fought with people who couldn't shut up. She was scared, yes, and she may have thought about aborting me, but the captain and her boyfriend agreed to support the baby. It was his baby of course, and her parents also decided to help.

My mom dropped out after her second year in college to take care of me, she wanted to be there for me. She'd been taking cooking classes and working part-time and when she was twenty, she worked at that restaurant I had mentioned earlier. She got married to my dad after he graduated at twenty two. He thankfully loved her enough to not have another girlfriend. He got a house, and did well, they lived happily ever after, until he got transferred to Seattle and that's the story.

A pregnant sixteen year old, the talk of the town back then, but now. Everyone adores her and thinks she's amazing when they hear she has a seventeen year old son and still looks like a goddess. And believe me when I say sometimes people would think my mom was my sister, it happens a lot and that is why she says she looked eighteen. I don't blame the people who think she's my sister and sometimes we played that game with people, because she refuses to age at thirty three. I remember back in Seattle, my friend's brother came up to me and said he liked my sister and wanted to take her on a date, asking if I could hook them up.

I just looked at him and said; "You want to go on a date with my mother? Mummy issues much?"

And he froze. I remember how pale he went and couldn't find his words, it was funny but trust me not to laugh and make him feel stupid and embarrassed because I deprive pressure from making cis people uncomfortable.

Matthew Dexwell was and is a lucky man, I'd say. He had me at the age of eighteen so he also looked very young for a Dad. He was thirty five and was constantly hit on by single women who thought he was the Adam to their Eve. Girls back at home would lose their shit when they would see my Dad. Sigh.

It is kinda weird. Having young parents, but I kinda enjoy and love every bit of it. My parents have been married for eleven years but they've been together for eighteen years. Anytime I think of it , I'd say goals as fuck. But after that incident eight years ago, I can't look at him the same way. And I wish it had all ended there, at that very moment. I still do and wait for the day Mom would say she was done, so we could both leave. I was nine then and it did not happen, instead they've added more years to their years of being together. You might call me selfish or evil or whatever but I know why I wanted that, and I still want that.

Him to suffer.

"Dylan, hey!"

I turned to see Jaxton and faked a smile. "Hey, you."

Now Jaxton and I had become good friends, we saw each other everyday. The three of us sometimes had the same class but Raven and I mostly did. We still ate lunch together, just the two of us. If the table was taken, they'd leave once they saw her. It was like a superpower. A funny one. And I still saw Henry at the halls sometimes, his locker was opposite mine. I just found that out. I still steal glances and he's still hot asf, plus we have some classes together. Try focusing with a guy like that sitting across.

Good luck with that

"How was your weekend?" He asked as we walked.

"Good I guess, except I'm tired. How was yours?"

"Hmmm, it was okay." He shrugged as I stopped at my locker.

"You sure? How are you?"

"Good, just hungry, I forgot to have breakfast." He said and I yawned tiredly.

"Did you even sleep at all, last night?" He asked with a chuckle.

"No."

"Dylan, It was a Sunday." He arched his brow and chuckled.

"Yeah I know. My mom and I got into story-mode till 1AM and then I started reading this book I bought and I slept off by 3AM. So I had just four hours of sleep. Oh wait, I woke up by 6:30, Close." I shrugged and put some books back in.

Okay that part was a total lie, I wasn't reading any book. You see when mom was telling me her story, we time traveled to the time before the incident. And it got me awake. Cause then it brought back memories and I stayed awake till 4AM. I cried as well cause it was hard not to and well thinking at night, isn't...really a good thing cause I did wake up with a headache.

"That's sad." He pouted. "Well, if it makes you feel any better it was entirely your fault." He said and smiled.

I closed my locker a little to take a look at him, and then I flashed him a fake smile as well. "Thanks, it makes me feel so much better." I replied and he smiled.

"You're welcome." He played along. "Anyways, I gotta head to the principal's office"

"Why? You in trouble?" I questioned.

"No, he wants to talk to me about my LGBT club thing" he said as he walked backwards.

"LGBT?"

He nodded.

"What's that mean?"

He gave me a look and I chuckled. "Sorry. Sorry. But what he gotta talk to you about? What letter does that homophobic bastard want to remove from that?"

"He's not homophobic." Jaxton said with a frown.

"Oh, I know. I just wanted to be problematic, I love him." I said and Jaxton chortled.

"Anyways, I'll explain later, bye." He said and dashed down the hall.

"Bye. Don't trip and snap your neck." I told him before slamming my locker shut. I instantly regretted it as I felt a sharp pain in my head, making me wince.

"Shit" I muttered as I stood still and placed a hand on my forehead. I sighed and decided to head to the nurse's office but every step I made, felt like hell. You ever felt this kind of headache where every move you make, it just feels like spongebob and Patrick are both playing the drums in your head. It just keeps hitting like a heartbeat. My eyes were on the ground as I walked, a hand on my forehead. I walked to the boys bathroom to wash my face first, as I walked in, it didn't take six seconds before I herd footsteps. Someone must have come in behind me. I didn't care. Not until I was dragged and pushed to the floor. I landed with my ass and it so fucking hurt.

My poor ass.

"Hey, are you stupid?" I angrily looked up and at that moment, my head felt like a time bomb instantly. It was those boys again. The same jerk jocks that harassed that guy, the other day.

"Hey grandpa." The dark haired guy laughed. Eric.

"Listen, power rangers, I am not in the mood for this, so can we just do this some other day?" I said softly, trying to remain still so the migraine would go away.

"Shut the hell up, fucktard! Try to save yourself now!" Eric yelled and the noise was just not making things better.

"I really cannot handle you all right now, I have got a headache and I honestly do not want any trouble, so, do come back tomorrow or after lunch then we can have a battle." I said and tried to get on my feet, but then they pulled me up and pushed me back to the ground. My eyes were watery, not because of what they were doing. No. Far from that. It was because I couldn't take this, I needed to rest my head. I needed to go to the nurse's office, the nurses always had a cure, I could be dead and just an ice pack would bring me back to life. It was getting too much and my eyes were teary and blurry as fuck.

Shit. I was gonna faint!

God no.

Then, I heard a familiar voice, one I had heard before.

"What do you boys think you're doing? Are you all stupid?"

Who was that?

"Hey," this time the voice was close. I opened my eyes slowly and there he was.

Henry.

And it went blank.

***

"Ahh" I opened my eyes slowly and began to sit up, it wasn't really blur anymore, the walls were white. I just couldn't see fully. "Am I in heaven?"

"Bitch you're at the nurse's office" her face came into view and my eyes opened fully. "Raven?"

"Oh thank God, you're awake." She sighed. "I was a little worried."

"Okay, what happened?" I asked as I tried to sit up and my head started to hurt again. "Ow!"

"Dylan. Are you okay?" A female voice asked.

"No. I feel like Bikini bottom is in my head and spongeBob did something extremely wrong" I answered.

"Wh..what?"

"It means. He still has a headache. A bad one" Raven interpreted.

"Oh, well-" She paused and then continued. "Take these pills and you'll be fine." I looked at them and then the nurse. I took it from her, Raven handed me a glass of water and I swallowed the pills immediately.

"You good?" Raven asked.

"Last thing I remember, those three muskerfools threw me to the ground."

"Eric and his minions?" She scoffed, I nodded with a sigh. "Ugh! Those idiots, I'll deal with their asses later."

"I was already having a headache from home and I told them; we would do this later. And now I'm at the nurse's office." I sighed.

"Well thanks to Henry who brought you to me." the nurse said with a smile. My heart skipped a heavy beat. "Excuse me." she said and left her office.

"Wait. Henry? Like Henry Ashcroft. You mean...the-henry? Captain-of-the-football-team-henry?" My eyes widened.

"Is there any other Henry we know in Eastwood high?" She asked and I scowled at her.

"Yes, that Henry. I guess he finally noticed you, huh." Raven wiggled her brows with a smile.

"I didn't dream that? I could have sworn i thought I dreamt that"

Oh my fucking gad. I didn't dream that. I didn't dream that? I thought I dreamt that. How did...oh shit. Henry? Henry Ashcroft???

"Why would you think you dreamt that?" Raven asked and gave a slight chuckle.

"You know when someone's about to die and the one thing they see last is the person they love? Yeah. That's it"

"Oh. So you love Henry?" She smirked

"Was that the only thing you grabbed? " i gave her a disappointed look "That was not what I meant."

"I get it. I get it" she chuckled. "How's your head?"

"Haven't heard any complains." I shrugged.

Raven rolled her eyes. "You know what head i mean, stupid."

"The pain isn't that bad anymore. I think Mr. Crabs finally agreed to give out free paddies. It's dying down" I shrugged. She laughed and shook her head.

"If I was your mom, I'd stop you from watching that show."

"Pfft. You could try." I scoffed.

Henry had seen me passed out in the fucking bathroom? Whatever happened then?

"Thinking about Henry?"

"Get away from my head, Raven.  You Keep reading my mind."

"Sorry, the frosts used to be part of the xmen, so we are mind readers."

"Mmhmm." I rolled my eyes. "I just....can't believe it"

"What part? Henry or my powers?"

"Raven, I'm not taking you serious." I said and the door quickly burst open.

"Oh God! I just heard about you. Are you okay?" He asked as he walked towards us, worry in his voice.

"Sorry Jackie. You're fifteen minutes late. You missed the awakening of the nine tails and forty minutes of snow white here being in the Avatar state"

Forty? Woah.

Wait.

And then there was silence. Hold up. She didn't... She couldn't...she wouldn't...it's not possible. Did I hear her say...

"Oh, Come on boys. Wipe that shock off your faces. My brother watches Naruto and Avatar and so do I" she rolled her eyes with a sigh.

"That is actually pretty cool that you watch anime."

"Why do you look like you saw a ghost then?" She questioned.

"This is unbelievable. You? Evil, mean, devious Raven. Watch Naruto? I mean I understand the Avatar part" Jax asked with so much doubt even after the proof.

"Well fuck you, Jaxton."

"I didnt say anything bad."

"Just like you snow white, there's also a lot you don't know about me." She smiled.

"Anyways what were you both talking about when I came in?" Jax asked with a smile.

"Dylan's Prince char..." I rapidly nudged her and once she looked at me I gave her a death glare. "Uh.. Prince char...ming smile. He's...awesome, charmlike smile.. You know the one he does and he just looks..." She looked at me and I was smiling right at her, to keep going. "....scary." She frowned and then I kicked her leg. "I meant charming. So charming." She gave him a smile to back it up.

Jax chuckled. "Ookay. Well that is true though. And Dylan, I'm so sorry I wasn't here earlier, I just heard about it." he said apologetically.

"It's fine, really." I smiled at him. "I'm alright now. Bikini Bottom is safe."

His smile then turned to confusion. "I'm sorry what?"

"His head." Raven interpreted again with a sigh.

"Oh."

***

I was at lunch, sitting with Raven and I wondered why she sat with me and not her cheer squad.

"Hey, so tell me. Why do you sit with me? I mean, what about your—" I turned to the cheerleaders table. "....squad?"

"They are my squad. They aren't real friends." She shrugged. "It's just you know....they just follow me cause I'm the head cheerleader and they wanna gain more popularity by being besties with me. When we started talking at first I was gonna introduce you to the,  but not anymore. They don't deserve you." She said and took a bite from her sandwich.

"Hmm. Anyways,"

"Oh, shush. Look," Raven said, looking behind me. "Your husband is here."

"Huh?"

I quickly turned to see who she was talking about and behold, Henry was walking in. Looking perfect as usual of course.  He was dressed like he didn't sort of belong here. Rich. He was wearing a black button down shirt with rolled up sleeves, and black pants as well.

"Should I...should I go say thank you?"

"Sure. Go humiliate yourself" she nodded.

"Seriously, Raven. Be positive."

"I am being positive. Just make sure it's just gratitude and thats all."

I got up from the table and made my way towards him, putting a smile on my face as i approached him.

"Henry, hey! I—"

"Don't talk to me" he cut me off and then walked out the cafeteria. I frowned, confused and looked at raven. She had the same look as me and then shooed me to follow him. I did so. I just had to show my gratitude. That's it. I nodded and walked out the cafeteria.

"Hey! I just wanted to.."

"Are you deaf?" He turned to me.

I blinked severally. Did he just...what is his problem.

"Mister. I'm just trying to say thank you for..."

"Did I ask for it? No. I said. Don't. Talk. To. Me. Is it that hard? Don't you listen or are you just stupid. "

"Woah. Woah! I'm not the cause of your blue balls," I said with a small frown. "Don't you think you are transferring some aggression to the wrong person?"

"Fuck. Off." He snarled. "You're starting to piss me off."

"Okay, listen here. I do not know what your problem is and I don't care right now but all I wanted to say was thank you but I don't know what battery your brain uses, but I think it's time for you to change it. What the fuck is your problem?" I scowled at him

"Listen here..."

"No you listen. If you've got something bothering you, sort it out yourself and don't just use that as an opportunity to yell at people. And I thought you were worth it" I said and walked back into the cafeteria. He was too much. Okay I might have not meant to yell at him that way but him calling me stupid and acting like a total jerk. That was the height of it.

"So, how was it? Did you two kiss?" Raven asked with a grin.

"You were right. He's a jerk " I replied and sat down.

"Yeeeah, I'm always right. Plus, it's Henry. Now what happened?"

"I tried to say thank you and he was acting all....I don't even know the word for it. Jerklike is it? No. A total asshole"!

"Well, I did warn you" she shrugged. "Relax. At least, now you know what kind of a person he is. But still. I'm sorry your heart is broken." She said and pouted at me.

"Hey" a voice greeted

"What?" Raven answered in distain, and looked to my left. "Oh it's you, Jaxton." Raven sang in a voice that sounded like she was excited to see him, but with sarcasm. Jaxton didn't get the hint and just smiled back.

I looked up at him holding his tray of food. "Oh, hey."

"Mind if I join you guys?"

"No." I shook my head.

"I do mind, but go ahead and sit at a table I stole for just Dylan and myself." Raven said.

Jaxton sat beside me, a smile on his face as he set his tray on the table. "So, I just finished welcoming and giving a new student a tour, well three actually, and Gwen and I did it together."

"Am i supposed to know who that is?" I frowned.

"Oh, a sweet cheerleader and my favourite actually." Raven shrugged.

"Hmm."

"And she is so beautiful." Jaxon hissed. "But anyways, yeah. How do you feel?"

I gave a small nod. "Not bad."

"That's good." Jaxton nodded. "Ugh, i am so hungry."

"Then you should probably eat." Raven said.

Jaxton gave her a look and faked a smile. "Yeah," he chuckled. "You look sour." Jaxton said to me.

"Excuse me? And you look unripe."

"No, I d-don't mean that like an insult. I just meant you look irritated."

"Oh," I blinked. "Sorry, yeah." I cleared my throat.

"What's wrong?" Jax frowned as he looked at me.

"Oh nothing! I just realised that sometimes when you like hot people, it's always better to like them from a distance because they can either turn out to be dumb, a jerk, or ugly inside when they speak." I smiled at him.

"Well, damn. Whatever happened?" Jaxton chuckled.

I touched the side of my head and closed my eyes for a bit.

"What are you doing?" Raven asked.

"Clicking delete in my head and trying to put this in recycle bin."

"Is this about home or something?" Jaxton questioned. "Someone fill me in."

"Well jaxjax. Dylan here just had the worst three minutes of his life" she smiled. I looked at her, trying to stop her from talking.

"Um, shut up, Rave."

"How?" He asked curiously.

"He went to talk to h..."

I kicked her from under the table and she began to cough.

"Are you okay?" I asked, getting her attention. She glared at me and answered.

"Yeah, I am."

"You shouldn't talk while eating" I said and smiled at her.

"Mmhmm. Yeah" she then flashed a smile at jax.

"You should drink some water" jax suggested.

"Yeah. Have some." I smiled at her. She then mouthed an I hate you. I smiled and nodded. Me too. I mouthed back.

"So. Dylan. What happened? The....worst three minutes of your life?" He turned his attention to me

"I...I fell down in front of some students and well. It was embarrassing." I gave a fake laugh. "Right, Raven?"

She nodded. "Yeah, reeeally embarrassing. If only you were here like five minutes earlier." She laughed.

Jaxton chuckled. "Well, it's okay. People get embarrassing moments most times. It will pass." He shrugged and began to eat.

"Mmhmm. Sure."

***

"You really need to stop kicking me." Raven complained as we walked to the gym, we were having P. E

"You need to learn when to shut up."

"Hey, I didn't know your prince charming was supposed to be a secret."

"I don't have a prince charming. He was more a prince voodoo." I corrected as we walked into the gym. "It was a mistake, and it will stay that way and no one should ever know. It's gonna be between us and I'm ov.....holy shit!" I stopped on my heels. Raven looked at me , her confused brows knitted.

"What?"

"Why the fuck is Henry glistening?" I asked as I stared at him." Across the gym, Henry with his teammates. He had taken off his shirt almost immediately I got in.  I always wondered what he looked like without a shirt, and here he was, looking like he jumped out a magazine.

How can someone be so...godlike. His broad chest and a total of six packs with a teasing V-line. That vline directed my eyes lower and i wished i could see more. He used his shirt to clean off the sweat on his body and right there. I just wanted to be that shirt and as the devil would like it, he looked at me.

I blinked and quickly looked away and at Raven, folding my arms. "Oh my God, he just caught me staring."

"I'm surprised the entire school didn't, you have imaginary saliva falling outta your mouth."

"Raven, I will bitch slap you into next summer."

"Do you think you're the only one drooling over Henry Danger over there?" She pointed to some of the cheerleaders looking and some girls at the bleachers and even some guys who just couldn't look away. "They are many of them but somehow. You got his attention by using your eyes."

"Yeah, and then he told me to fuck off and that i was being annoying. So romantic."

"Haven't you heard of the enemies to lovers arc?"

"Raven, does this look like that arc?"

"I'd rather you keep it as enemies, just saying. It's Henry. He's a cunt sometimes."

"Hey, Dylan right?" I turned and standing behind me was that guy from the first day that helped me find my locker. Shit. What was his name?

Come on remember, it started with a C. Remember stupid. How can you forget this good Samaritan's name? Starts with a C. Then what? Is it Collins? No. Carlos? Nah. Cable? Really? Cable? Really?

I mentally slapped myself.

"Do you remember me?" He asked with a smile, and I laughed shortly, blinking as I tried to remember.

"Of course. I do. You're...Chris..tian?" I arched my brow when I said the name hoping it was it.

He chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, you remembered."

"Of course. How could I forget?"

"I'm sorry that I haven't....wait. Why is your...face red...were you..."

"Allergies" I and Raven said at the same time and we both exchanged looks and looked back at Christian.
"It's starting. I uh.....someone gave me...mango juice?" I frowned at myself.

Mango. Man fucking go.

"Yeah and I'm allergic to....mangoes"

"Mmhmm," Raven nodded. "And so, he has got to go, baby boy." Raven placed her hands on my shoulders from behind. "Nice talk, but I've gotta take care of him." she flashed him a smile. I mouthed an I'm sorry to him. He just smiled and nodded.

"It's okay, Just be fine" he said as we turned and left.

"What a nice guy. He has such a cute puppy face."

"And you looked at Henry, and fell for all that."

"How can't you?" I asked , wondering. "Are you a Lesbian? I won't judge you. You know?" I said as we walked. She slapped my head from behind as we got out.

"Shut up, I'm not. I just don't fancy Henry asscroft. I don't go for what everyone wants," she shrugged. "Well except you. Everyone just kept staring and talking, and I had to kidnap you, and be the first to speak to you."

"Aw, unfortunately you were not the first. Christian was the first, he took me to my locker." I smiled and shrugged as we sat down at one of the bleachers.

"Christian isn't a dick, so I'm not mad."

"Of course you can't."

"I should get you some gift."

"Why would you wanna get me a gift?"

"Cause I can." She shrugged.

"Oh, yeah. I totally forgot your dad was rich."

"See. You don't care about the money" she beamed

"I don't, but you can still buy me expensive things."

Raven scoffed.

"Hey, Dexwell. Your turn to play!" The coach yelled from the other side of the court.

I frowned. "Me? I don't remember sighing up to play." I retorted.

"I'm not asking."

"So, does that mean I should sit?"

"Get your ass here!" He ordered, his voice filled with annoyance.

I sighed and looked at raven.  "Blush die down?" I asked.

"Yeah, It has." she smiled and we both stood up. "I'll go check what those cheerleaders are up to." She smiled and stood up. "Shiiiiit. Coach is here" she said as she spotted her female coach and rushed off saying a quick 'bye' while I approached my own coach.

I stood at the other side of the line with some other boys and opposite us was the school panthers. The jocks . They were all smiling. They really were gonna hit us with the balls.

"You best be careful." A boy beside me said, and I looked at him. "These jocks can be crazy."

"Well, someone might get their ass beat if they give me a black eye." I said as my eyes shifted to Henry who was on the other team.

I rolled my eyes at him and looked away, at something i wasn't interested in.

Let the games begin....

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Hey guys, don't ask me who the guy who plays Henry is. He doesn't exist. I made him with a powerpuff girls scientific mixture. 🫠🫠
