Bird Man
Hi, okay so the previous chapter did say two days, and that's because it was supposed to be uploaded like a week ago and it didn't. Evey chapter has a lot of distance before being written, like this very chapter was written about two months after the first update where I said I got a job that is killing me and now this chapter here says I'm resigning.
Yes, I'm resigning tomorrow. I can't kill myself because I'm working. Nuh uh. I'm tired. Sure nothing comes easy but whatever.
I don't sleep enough and I even got darker, thanks to the sun and I just need to focus on myself right now.
How's everybody doing?
Just...vote right here. And thank you guys for more than 100k reads, I really can't tell you guys how happy I am. I love you all so much, I wanna be in a haunted house with you all. 💜💛💚💓
And I've been reading previous comments and laughing like crazy, its good to know that the readers are as crazy as the characters. Bless you all and your sociopathic way of thinking, I love reading your threats on most of the characters.
One thing you all should understand is that I would never make Dylan perfect just cause he's the MC, that's not how life is so it's okay to hate him for a chapter and complain, we all aren't perfect so stfu. I mean, yay you.

Chapter 94
Dylan's P.O.V
"Someone came into my son's room at night and put a dead bird on his fucking bed and you're telling me that I shouldn't worry? What earth are you from?" Mom asked, scolding Detective fisher.
Detective fisher and two other policemen had arrived an hour later at my house and had checked out my room, asked me some questions and now they were facing my parents, my dad had gotten rid of the bird but they had to call the cops because this was a break in.
"Ma'am, you have to calm down, I understand your fear but-"
"I'm not sure you do, Detective Fisher."
"Bonnie!" Dad called and she turned to him. "Deep breaths, go have a glass of water while I talk to Fisher."
"But-"
"Please. You're pregnant, you need to calm down so go have some water."
Mom let out a sigh and walked away, muttering somethings as she made her way towards the kitchen.
"Wow. Mama bear is really something," Isabelle said while we sat on the stairs. "She was gonna eat that man alive if your dad hadn't interfered."
I sighed. "They shouldn't have called the cops."
"You know damn well, they would have and should have."
"What if it was him?" I asked, turning to Isabelle.
She looked at me for a second and smiled. "You have many enemies, boy. Don't ignore the others for the major one."
I nodded. "Yeah, I'll go talk to mom." I said and stood up. I made my way to the kitchen where she was, holding a glass of water while the other hand rested on her hip. "Mom."
She turned to me and let out a sigh. "Hey," she breathed and dropped the glass on the counter. "Come here." She said and opened her arms, I walked over to her and gave her a tight hug.
"You're worrying too much, it'll affect the baby."
"You are also my baby. I'm allowed to be worried about you, love."
I sighed. "So much for having an amazing summer."
She chuckled softly. "It can't be normal when you're not normal. Annoying, isn't it?"
"So annoying." I chuckled and pulled away. "I'm fine, mom. We just have to tell detective Fisher not to tell anyone about this. I don't want the whole town knowing a dead bird was found on my bed."
She nodded. "I'll slit his throat if he let's it get out."
"Dylan." Detective Fisher called and I turned.
"Hmm?"
"Do you have any idea who might have done this?" He asked, dad was standing next to him with folded arms and Isabelle was next to dad as well, hugging herself. My window had been found open which meant he came in through my window.
"I think we all can suspect one person." I muttered.
"Who?" Mom asked.
"Johnathan."
"Dylan, he's in a mental facility." Detective Fisher stated.
"But he's Johnathan, he can be in two places at once. He's Johnathan, he can do anything and how can you be so sure he's there right now and hasn't escaped? Hmm?"
"Dylan-"
"You need to be sure. Confirm and then you can tell me he wasn't the one and hasn't left that ward in twenty four hours and I'll believe you."
Detective Fisher gave me a pity look and nodded. "Okay, I'll make a call and go there tomorrow morning and then I'll report here but please, be careful."
I nodded. "I will."
"So, you don't know who did this?" Mom asked.
"No traces. This wasn't the person's first time of breaking into somebody's house, no finger prints on the window but we'll still find the culprit."
Mom sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "And please, detective Fisher." Mom called. "Don't...let this get out at all."
He nodded. "You have my word." He said with a smile and looked back at me. "It'll be fine. It could have been a prank from one of your enemies at school. Johnathan is still there and there's no way he could have escaped without alerting us."
"Okay," I breathed.
"I'll see you all in the morning." Detective fisher said and they all left the house.
"I hate this town." Mom sighed. "We suddenly live in an episode of pretty little liars."
"You watch that?" Isabelle asked and mom shrugged.
"I'm not old." Was her answer.
"Of course not." Belle chuckled.
"We'll uh, we'll go back to bed now." I said with a fake smile.
"You sure you don't wanna sleep with us?" Mom asked and I shook my head.
"Nah, we'll be okay, right Belle?" I asked and turned to her.
"Y-eah. Of course." She nodded.
"Goodnight." I said and made my way back to the room with Isabelle behind me.
"Well, I'll sleep on the floor. I'm not a fan of dead creatures." Isabelle said once we were back into my room. We just kept staring at my bed and then I looked at her.
"We'll both sleep on the floor then." I shrugged.
"Oh look who's scared."
"I'm not scared." I rolled my eyes at her and went into my closet, I took some sheets out and we both spread it on the floor right before I went to take a shower. We both laid on them afterwards, covering ourselves with a duvet. Isabelle had changed her clothes while I was showering and turned off the light before laying down and with a sigh, we both looked up the ceiling.
"I haven't been here a complete week and this happens. This town is sick."
"You have no idea." I said as I held the teddy bear Henry had gotten for me tightly.
"A dead bird? Who's idea of a sick joke is this?"
"Could be Bruce. I'd say Quinn but we didn't end our last conversation with a fight and plus she's in Argentina."
"How many enemies do you have?"
"I've got a lot on the team, I can't even remember their names because I don't really care."
"So it could be anyone."
"How can a seventeen year old teenager like me have the amount of enemies a mafia lord would have?"
Isabelle snorted. "You are Dylan, you were probably a mafia lord in your past life."
"That would make so much sense." I muttered and she laughed.
"If this is what you've been dealing with then you need me here."
"Isabelle, no." I shook my head.
"Yes actually. You need me here to help you deal with these bastards."
"Isa," I turned to her. "I can handle it. You can't transfer here,"
"Why not? It's easy."
"I know it is but you can't."
"Why not? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't transfer here!"
"Tobi."
She went silent.
"You can't leave Tobi alone there, he'll never forgive you and you know castle's high isn't the school of saints either. It's a demonic school just like Eastwood high."
"Don't you think your school deserves more credit?"
"Okay maybe Eastwood high is five times worse but Tobi needs you there and you can't ditch him for me because he's your best friend now and you need to be there for him and teach him how to become a monster."
"Tobi is too cute, he can't become a monster even if he tried."
I chuckled. "Well, everyone can. Take a look at Jaxton, he's slowly changing. He's not so silent anymore and he knows how to give a comeback and plus he has a sarcastic side now." I stated. "He was the most innocent human in the world."
"Until he met you."
"And I gave him power, I made him believe in himself." I shrugged.
(Okay, I just had a major déjà vu as I wrote this and my head's banging)
"Jaxton's cute."
"Back to the topic, Isa."
"Okay, okay, fine. I will go back home and not transfer here but I swear to God, if something bad happens to you then Tobi and I will be transferring here ASAP!"
"Only if something bad happens to me." I smiled.
Isabelle scooted closer and rested her head on my chest. "Goodnight, winter."
"Goodnight, barbie."
And as I closed my eyes, there was a deep, rumbling noise from the sky that startled the shit out of us and we were both sitting up in less than a second. My heart was in my throat already, my heart was beating so fast and this had to be the first rain I was going to experience in Eastwood. Isabelle was startled at that moment, she clutching her chest and let out a deep breath.
"Damn that thunder." She groaned. "Fucking scared the shit out of me." she said and turned to me. "Are you okay?"
"Of course, why won't I be?"
"Dylan, you're scared of thunder." She stated in an obvious tone.
I gulped. "I'm not, I got over it."
"Yeah, I can see that." She replied sarcastically.
She was right. I was scared of thunderstorms, they were the only thing that could frighten me by just speaking. The electrifying sound always got me jumping, it was something I couldn't control. I hated the sound of it, I hated thunderstorms, I hated how weak it made me feel and how I couldn't do anything about it but then, I thought I had gotten over it.
I fake smiled. "M-Maybe sleeping in mom and dad's room isn't such a bad idea."
Isabelle gave me a look and then nodded. "Yeah, I mean...it's not like we're scared."
"Exactly," I nodded as well. "We just want to stay with them."
"True." She said and stood up. "I mean they did invite us to sleep in their room."
"And it'd be....impolite to disagree." I said and stood up as well. I grabbed one of the sheets and my gift from Henry of course, and we both walked out of my room real quick and into my parents room.
"Dylan?" Mom called softly once we walked in and gently closed the door behind us, she turned on the light and they both looked at us.
"Hey mom."
"You guys okay?"
"Yeah!" I answered. "We just uh, we just thought we should come...you know, hang with you guys."
"Yeah, exactly that." Isabelle fake laughed.
Mom and Dad exchanged looks before turning back to us with a smile on their face. "It was the thunder, wasn't it?" She asked and I shook my head.
"No, it just-"
She patted the bed with a smile. "Come on."
Isabelle and I looked at each other and smiled before walking over to the bed were they laid, Isa laid beside mom while I laid next to her and dad, and thankfully their bed wasn't so small and could fit four grownups.
The thunderstorms were making it hard for me to go to bed, it was weird. I thought I had learned to not get scared of it but it seems I haven't. I just thought I had because it hadn't rained here.
Mom could tell I was struggling to sleep and so she gave me her earphones and played some songs through her phone to help me block the raging sounds of the thunder and it helped.
Bonnie Dexwell was the best mom in the entire world and I was ready to argue with anyone about this.
***
"Have you called Henry?" Isabelle asked as we ate our cereal the next morning in the kitchen.
"No,"
"You need to call him and tell him about what happened last night."
"I don't want him to worry!"
"It's his job as your boyfriend to worry!" She almost screamed, she looked behind me and spoke. "Mrs. Dexwell, please help me out here and tell Dylan that he should call Henry to come over."
"She's right, you know." Mom said and walked over to the fridge, taking out a cucumber. "He's your boyfriend and you should call him and tell him so that he can comfort you."
"I'm fine and what are you doing with that?" I grimaced.
"Relax, kid. I'm not masturbating with this, I'm eating it." Mom said and exited the kitchen.
"Ewww!"
"I swear your mom is amazing." Isabelle laughed.
"Shut up."
"Call him now!"
I groaned and picked up my phone from the table and dialed his number, I walked away from the kitchen as I waited for him to answer and then he did.
"Hey, babe."
"Hey."
"You know, I was just thinking about you right now and then you called."
I smiled. "I guess we are connected."
"Is everything okay? You don't sound....okay."
"Yeah, I'm great." I said and rested on the wall.
"You say great when you're not. What's wrong?" His tone held worry.
"Something....happened last night, Henry."
"What happened? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I just-"
"Dyl, what happened?"
"I found a....dead bird in my bedroom last night."
"What?! I...hold on!" I could hear shuffling. "I'll be right there soon."
"Henry, I'm okay."
"No, you're not. I'll see you in few minutes, don't go anywhere."
I nodded. "I love you."
"I love you too."
And with that, I hung up and walked back to the kitchen. "So?" Isabelle asked.
"He's on his way."
"I finally get to see him. Oh, thank God."
"That was mainly why you asked me to call him, wasn't it?"
"Maybe." She shrugged. "But he did need to know."
"Whatever." I said and picked up my bowl of soaked cereal, I picked up the box and poured more into the bowl.
"Aren't you gonna go....comb your hair? Your hair's all over the place."
"He likes it like that. If I comb it, he'll roughen it so there's no use." I shrugged.
"Awww, I swear you both have got to be the cutest!" She squealed.
"How's Nico? Have you called him?" I asked, changing the subject.
"Yeah, he called me this morning and I told him about it."
"What'd he say?"
"He was worried. He asked if you were okay and I told him you were acting like you were."
"Belle, I'm fine."
"Who uses fine except people who aren't fine?" She snorted. "And I'm your best friend, I know you better than anyone, Dexwell."
I sighed. "Fuck you, Isa. Seriously." I muttered as I ate.
Henry was in my house about ten minutes later which made me wonder how fast he must have driven to this place. Isabelle had finally seen him and she was damn impressed, she did say he looked really familiar and she felt she knew him from somewhere but she can't place her finger on it and I really did hope it wasn't in some porn or jerk off magazine.
Isa talked with Henry for a while and she didn't look like she was gonna stop pestering him so I had to save him from her because she wouldn't stop talking and so we ended up back in my room and on my bed. I had turned my bed upside down so we didn't stay on the part the dead bird was kept. Henry was sitting on my bed, resting on the edge while I sat in between his legs dressed in a huge sweater and shorts, it had rained for a long time throughout the night.
"You okay?" He asked as he kissed my neck.
"I'll be okay." I replied.
"I'm sorry I wasn't here with last night."
"Hey! I am not your responsibility and you really don't have to be everywhere I am."
"You are my responsibility," he whispered and rested his jaw on my shoulder, wrapping his arms around me. "Do we know who did this yet?"
I shook my head. "Not yet."
"But, you think it's him."
"Is it that obvious?"
"Kinda."
I chuckled. "Thanks for coming over."
"Anytime." He said and played with my fingers. "I'm your boyfriend after all."
I smiled. "Hmm,"
"We're gonna be fine."
I nodded and looked up at him. "I know." I replied and just as I was about to kiss him, the door opened and Isabelle barged in.
"Hey, sorry for disturbing your make out section but I thought to tell you that Detective Fisher is here." She said with furrowed brows.
I looked at Henry and then got out of the bed with him and we all walked down the stairs and to the living room where Detective Fisher was talking to my parents. Once they heard our footsteps they stopped talking and turned to us, I folded my arms as I approached them with Isa and Henry behind me.
"Hey,"
"Good morning, Dylan. Sleep well?" He asked and I gave him a look. "Guess not." He cleared his throat and looked up at henry. "Henry," he acknowledged.
Henry gave him a small nod in response and Isa sighed. "So, what do you have for us?"
"Was it him?"
Fisher stood up and shook his head. "No. I checked the surveillance cameras and he never left the mental facility or made any calls and cops have been watching him. It wasn't him."
I sighed. "So it's not him. We've got another asshole to deal with."
"Like I said, could be a prank." He shrugged.
"A prank? That has to do with a dead bird." Henry stated.
"And breaking and entering." Isabelle added.
"Yeah and whoever did this prank really did know how to cover up his tracks." Henry said.
"It'd be nice to meet him so we can play the same prank, except with scissors and chainsaws." Belle shrugged.
"And hot water." Henry added.
"That would do justice." She smiled.
"Okay. Enough with the.....you know what." Detective Fisher said with a little frown.
"So we have no lead?" I asked.
"We're still looking. Have I ever failed you?" Detective Fisher asked and I gave no response because truthfully, he was a good detective. "Give me forty eight hours."
"Try twenty four, we don't have two days." Mom cut in.
"Dylan?"
I turned slowly to the voice and there stood Jaxton in a big shirt that definitely wasn't his and blue jeans. "Oh, thank God you're okay." He said and walked over to me, giving me a tight hug. "Isabelle called me earlier and told me about this."
"I'm fine, seriously." I said with a smile and pulled away before turning and glaring hard at Isa. Why did she have to tell him to get him worried?
"He's your best friend, he should know." She said with a shrug and walked to the kitchen.
"I came here as fast as I could."
"I'm okay, seriously. Just someone playing a stupid prank on me."
"Where were you at that time?" Detective Fisher asked me as he took out a notepad and a pencil.
I looked away from Jaxton and at him. "I wasn't home, I went out with a friend."
"What's your friend's name?" He asked and I went quiet, I couldn't say Christian because Henry was here and Henry wasn't a fan of Christian.
"Does it matter?" I asked and he looked away from his notepad and at me and I rose my left brow at him stylishly and he seemed to understand what I was trying to tell him with my eyes.
"Dylan, you have to tell him." Dad said.
"It's fine." Detective Fisher said.
"Why is bad things happening to my best friends?" Jax sighed frustratedly.
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"Raven. She almost got into a car accident this morning, her brake failed." Jax shrugged.
"My God!" Mom exclaimed.
"And she didn't die?" Isa asked, I glared at her for the second time in five minutes.
"Is she okay?" Dad asked and Jaxton nodded in response.
"She's fine, just a little scratch."
I let out a breath of relief and then it all started to make sense to me as I filled in the blank.
"Dylan," Jax called. "You have that look on your face when you're being all smart again."
"That is true," Isa cut in. "What do you know?"
"It all makes sense now," I blinked.
"What does?" Detective Fisher asked.
"A dead bird on my bed," I said and looked at everyone of them. "Except not just any bird, a raven." I pointed out.
"I'm not sure I get it." Jaxton said but detective Fisher did.
"A raven bird," he repeated. "And your friend Raven-
"Had an accident today." I finished.
"So it is linked." Henry spoke. "The bird and Raven."
"So the car accident wasn't just any accident." Mom cut in.
"Someone targeted her." Dad finalized.
"Whoever came into your room last night," Isabelle said, a hand on her hip. "Also tampered with Raven's brakes." She finished.
"Except the raven bird was dead and our Raven is okay." Jaxton pointed.
"They're sending a message." Henry said. "It's a warning."
"So they're targeting my son and Raven?" Mom asked.
I looked away from mom and at Jaxton who was staring back at me. "You need to make sure she's okay, you go to where she is and make sure she doesn't go anywhere without you or one of her bodyguards."
"Okay," Jaxton nodded.
"I'll come with you, I need to speak with Kaiden and make sure he doesn't let her leave alone." Detective Fisher said before looking back at all of us. "Everyone has to be careful now, turns out this is bigger." He announced. "I need to see Raven and know more about the accident, I'll keep in touch." He said before leaving with Jaxton.
"Hurray! A peaceful summer." Mom sarcastically said and exited the living room.
"Well, this is fun." Dad said and followed her.
"For the love of God, somebody better not die." Isa said and left afterwards.
"Hey, you okay?" Henry asked, his hands on my shoulder.
"Raven isn't."
"You should go talk to her, you know."
"She had an accident and got out alive and without a wheelchair as well, she's fine." I said firmly even though I was itching so bad to call her and check up on her.
"You miss her, don't you?"
"I'm not answering that." I said and moved closer to him, resting my head against his chest and wrapping my arms around him.
"Oh you stubborn boyfriend of mine." Henry said with a sigh as he wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head.
"Just hold me." I muttered.
I really wanted it to be him so I didn't have to worry about whom it was gonna be.
***
"Mom! Dad! I'm going out!" I announced loudly as I ran down the stairs.
"Where to, young man?" Mom asked from behind me, startling me.
"Jesus, woman. Don't sneak up on me like that." I frowned.
"I don't think you should be going out alone when these things are happening."
"And I don't think you should be worrying so much when you're pregnant." I stated. "And besides, there's no danger in going for a lesson."
"Ha! Do you know how many kids get kidnapped on their way to school?!"
I rolled my eyes. "Mom."
"More than ten thousand!!" She exclaimed.
"Mommy, that's a lot of kidnappings and if ten thousand kids were kidnapped then there'd be no school anymore."
"So you're saying that the fact that I'm worried about my kid is me overreacting and exaggerating?" She asked, hands on her hips.
"If it means you assuming ten thousand kids are kidnapped already and probably killed then yes mommy, yes."
She rolled her eyes. "Seriously, you piss me off."
"I'm your kid, I'm supposed to piss you off!" I said and threw my hands in the air.
"Where's Isabelle?"
"Out shopping."
"You didn't go with her?"
"She wanted to be alone to clear her head, she did see a dead bird magically appear on my bed so she went shopping and probably to stare at boys too to forget," i said and began to walk away. "Actually," I turned back to her. "That last one is definitely part of it. She left like ten minuted ago and since I will be at Ivy's, she's gotta keep herself busy." I shrugged.
"Who's Ivy?" Mom asked with a curious frown.
"I said Diana."
"You said Ivy."
"Same person." I shrugged.
"How's she anyways? First time meeting her and she looks uptight."
I chuckled. "Yeah, well that version is long gone." I said as I made my way to the door. "Love you, mom."
"Be home by seven!"
"Eight!"
"Don't dare me, Rumplestilskin!"
I turned to her with my mouth opened in shock. "R-Really? Out of all the villains?"
"Seven." She smirked.
"Seven thirty."
"Seven!"
"Seven fifteen."
"Seven."
"Seven forty, it is."
"Dare me and your stalker won't have to worry about you dying." She said with furrowed brows.
I frowned. "Seven o'clock, fine! Jesus." I said as I left the house and headed straight to Diana's.
***
"And just calm your breathing to stop yourself from being noticed." Diana said with a shrug. "Simple."
I was at her place, I was barely concentrating since I was thinking about how Raven was put in danger and how someone still was able to sneak into my room and nothing was found. Not even fingerprints.
I nodded. "Okay,"
"Hey, are you alright?" She asked as she walked over to the cupboard in her kitchen. "You've been kinda dead more then alive today, what's up?"
I looked up and at her with a frown. "Bad joke."
She turned to me as she pulled out a bottle of wine from the cupboard. "It's that bad, huh?" She asked as she poured herself a glass of wine. "So, who died this time?" She asked as she rested against the counter and sipped from her glass.
My frown deepened. "No one died! What the fuck?"
"Hey! I'm still older than you. No cursing in my house."
I rolled my eyes. "Not you too."
"You barely listened to what I said to you."
"I did hear" I lied. "I paid attention."
"Bitch, I switched from the topic to pancakes and graveyards to see it you were listening and you kept nodding and hmming." She stated, a browser arched as she stared back at me.
My mouth was opened for me to say something in my defence but I could barely think. "I...I remember that part." I still lied.
"Oh really?"
"No, you know what? Never mind. I forgot whom I was trying to lie to." I sighed.
"Now, tell me why you are in Transylvania half the time." She said as she walked back to me.
"It's nothing bad, Ivy. Just family matters. Dad issues." I lied smoothly.
"Hmm," she nodded. "Well, fathers are always annoying, don't you think?"
I nodded. "Yeah, worse."
"Wanna go for a walk?"
My brows knitted. "We aren't even done."
"Fuck this. Come on, let's go get some French toasts." She said with a smile and gulped her wine. "I'll go get my jacket." She said as she put the glass down and walked away.
I stared at the empty glass and then the bottle of wine in the kitchen, I looked back at the glass and the bottle, the glass again, the bottle.
I stood up from the stool and took the glass, I made my way to the kitchen and poured myself a little.
"Well alcohol does make everything better." I said before bringing it up to my lips.
"I said I was going to get my jacket not breastfeed my child." Diana said, startling me.
I turner rapidly and forced a smile. "I was just trying to...."
"Yeah, see how red it looks?" She asked, sarcastically and I nodded.
"Exactly."
She rolled her eyes. "For the love of God, it's expensive. Don't touch it, ever. And you're not even eighteen so don't or I'll beat you with a stick."
"Aggressive much?"
"Maybe." She smiled. "You sniff it for a second and give your opinion before drinking it."
I frowned in confusion. "Huh?"
"The wine. Sniff it." She ordered, I bought the glass up to my nose and once I took in the scent, my brows flew up.
"Tell me." She said and I looked up at her.
"Smells like..."
"Like?" She smiled.
"Like,"
"Go ahead."
"Like wine."
Her smile vanished. "You are a lost cause." She said with a disappointed sigh.
"It is wine!"
"Can you just leave that and let's go." She said with a sigh as she began walking away.
"Kay," I said and looked back at the wine, I drank it all in one go and was awed as I put down the glass. "Wow!" My eyes widen.
"Dylan!" Ivy yelled
"Coming!"
***
"I'm not even hungry." I muttered, we were finally at the place Ivy said was good and i will tell you one thing; this restaurant was expensive.
"I'm paying, Dylan. You don't have to worry." She said and I rolled my eyes.
"I know. You invite someone out, you pay, it's the circle of knowledge." I shrugged while she frowned. "I'm just not....feeling it."
"Okay, you have to tell me what's wrong because Dylan would never say no to food." Ivy said as she put down her menu.
"Fine." I muttered, I decided to tell her about it, maybe someone could get my mind off...pfft. Nah. "Last night, I found something in my room."
Ivy's brows knitted curiously. "What did you find?"
"I found a-" I trailed off once I realized the waiter was still standing there and also waiting to hear the story. I looked up at him and back at Ivy and she looked up at him.
"Well, what are you waiting for? A kidney transplant? Get back to your work." Ivy shot.
The waiter blinked and with a forced smile, muttered an apology and walked away quickly.
"Please, go ahead." She said as she looked back at me.
"I saw a.....bird."
She frowned, confused.
"A dead raven on my bed." I explained and her and her eyes widen.
"Wait! What?!"
"Yeah, someone broke into my house through my window and kept a dead bird on my bed and....this morning Mr. Kaiden's daughter,"
"Raven?"
"Yeah, my b....well, she had an accident."
"Oh my God! Is she okay?"
"Yeah, fortunately." I sighed.
"So, you think this is linked." Her brows quivered.
"As a matter of fact, I know. This isn't just some coincidence and that's why I'm worried."
"A dead raven and your friend Raven almost died." She blinked. "Your life isn't like every normal teenager, is it?"
I shook my head.
"Do we know who it is yet?"
I shook my head again. "The cops are still on it."
"God, I home Jeremiah doesn't grow up to have your kinda life, no offense to that."
"None taken." I sighed.
"You've gotta stop thinking about it for some minutes and focus on life, right now. Let's order something."
"There's no French toasts in the menu, Ivy. You kinda lied."
"There are a lot of other things so fucking pick one." She scowled.
I frowned and picked up the menu, I looked at it and then a waiter appeared right in front of us. "Excuse me," he said, softly.
Ivy and I looked at him with a similar frown.
"Um?" I arched my brow, he was holding a red present like bag.
"I'm sorry, uh, a guy asked me to give you this." He said and handed me the red present bag.
"M-Me?" I asked with a blink.
"Yeah, he said it's from Henry." He said as he handed the bag to me.
I looked at Ivy as I took the bag. "Oh, t-thanks." I said, he nodded and walked away.
"How did Henry know I was....oh wait, he's rich too." I said with a smile as I looked at the bag, I put my hand in it and I felt something soft, I slowly pulled it up and saw a blue teddy bear's leg. I awwed as I pulled it out and as I saw the head, my smile vanished and I stared at the headless teddy bear.
"The fuck is this?!" Ivy exclaimed.
I stared at the headless bear for a while, Ivy had called the waiter back and began to scold him and then my heart almost stopped. I dropped the teddy bear with a shaky breath. "It wasn't him." I muttered continuously as I began to panic. "Fuck! No!" I quickly stood up and ran out, I took out my phone from my pocket and began dialing his number, wasn't answering.
"Please, answer."
It kept ringing but he wasn't answering his phone, I was worried.
"FUCK!!"
"Dylan! What's wrong?!" Ivy asked as she ran and stood in front of me. "Are you okay?"
"No, I'm not. He's not answering his calls." I said as I tried again while pacing around.
"Who isn't answering his calls?" She asked but I didn't answer.
"Dylan!"
I turned to her. "It's Jaxton! Jaxton's fucking next!"

Jaxton's P.O.V
"You are so mean, I hate you." I said as I followed Dominic from behind.
"What? You love me." He said with his sinister smirk. We were both leaving the mall with a bag filled with new clothes for Dominic's mom and sister, thankfully today Dominic was off and didn't have to go to work.
My boyfriend was being mean since he was having my ice cream after he had his without my consent.
"I'll go tell your mom that you're being a bully and you know what she'll do."
"I'm not scared of her." He said as he turned to me with a smile.
I pouted.
"Okay, fine." He sighed. "You should at least share with your boyfriend."
"You didn't even ask, dummy."
"Come here." He said as he opened his arms. "I'm sorry, baby."
I huffed and walked over to him, I went closer to him like I was going to hug him but instead grabbed the ice cream and ducked, going under his arm. "Ice cream first! I still love you." I said as I took a spoonful of my cup ice cream.
"Oh now, who's mean?"
I giggled. "Still you." I shrugged. "But I love you though." I said as I walked ahead.
"I'm not sure you do, I swear I'm gonna tell my mom that you're not a caring boyfriend."
I laughed. "Like she'd ever believe you, she knows that I'm the most amazing boy out there and that I'm even better than you are," I said and turned to him as I walked backwards. "And, she knows that I'm the perfect boy for her handsome, goofy, sweet son who reminds me of the black ranger." I said and took another spoonful with a smile.
Dominic grinned and shook his head. "I love how you just said you're my mom's favorite and then covered it up with those sweet line."
"Aw, thank you." I said with a shrug and turned, walking ahead. "Wait, did Meghan say we should get her a charger or headphones cause I can't remember what she decided?" I asked, suddenly forgetting.
"I think she decided on headphones." Dominic replied.
"Then charger it is."
"What?"
"You don't pay attention to what she says when it comes to stuffs like this."
"I...do!"
"No, you do not." I said and turned to him again as I walked backwards. "You do not, the last time she said she wanted bangles and you told me she said bagels." I said and shook my head at him.
"That was a mistake!"
"Yeah right." I said and turned to cross the road when I decided to take a photo of Dominic and I, I took it out of my back pocket and I frowned once I saw over fifteen missed calls from Dylan, I had put my phone on silent when Amelia and I were having a discussion earlier and I didn't want it being ruined, I had forgotten to turn up the volume. Having fifteen missed calls from Dylan was a bit scary, the call came on again and I quickly answered.
"H-"
I wasn't allowed to finish cause Dylan yelled immediately, his voice high.
"Jaxton!!! Oh, thank God!!! Where have you been?!! Are you okay?!! I have been trying to call you, Jaxton! Why didn't you answer?! Do you know how worried I am?! I have been trying to call you and I've been panicking since you refused to answer my calls or my texts and you don't know how scared I am right now! I thought something had happened to you! Please tell me you're okay! Please!" He ranted, at a point it felt like he was about to cry.
I frowned, confused. "I'm sorry about that, w-what's going on?"
"Hey, come help me over here!" Dominic said from behind me as the bags he held were about to fall off his hands.
"I'm coming," I mouthed.
"Jaxton!! He's coming for you! He knows where you are!" Dylan yelled. "He's next target is you so leave where you are!!"
I didn't understand what he was going on about but he sounded so panicked that it started to freak me out. "Who's coming for....Dylan, what do you mean?"
"I'm talking about the Bird man!"
"The bird wh-" then it hit me. "What?" My heart stopped.
"Are you alone? Where's Dominic?!"
"How do you know he's coming for m-"
Dominic screamed my name and about a second later, I was pulled backwards with so much force and a black motorcycle zoomed past me with enough speed to kill anyone. To kill me. The ice cream and the bags all fell off my hand and to the ground as my back collided against Dominic's chest. I was speechless, I was almost ran over by him. If Dominic had tried to pull me back a second later, I'd be laying on the floor, probably dead.
He really was after me.
I let out shaky breaths as we both looked at the man on the bike, he had stopped his bike a few feet away from us but didn't take off his helmet, he just stared at us for a while and gave us the middle finger, he was dressed in all black, matching his helmet and bike. I could barely speak, I was still terrified about what had just happened and how I could have been dead.
Bird man started his bike and drove off again while looking at me, I couldn't see his face but I knew he was mad I was still alive; but just as I didn't see him coming, he didn't see it either; the opened car door. He collided into it with enough force, falling off his bike and to the ground with a loud grunt, I could feel the pain even. And as he laid on the ground, Detective Fisher stepped out of the car.
How did he...
"A-Are you okay?" Dominic asked in a panic tone as he cupped my cheeks and began to check my body for a scratch.
"I'm...I'm fine." I said but my voice was enough to give it away that I was terrified. I looked back at the man being handcuffed by detective Fisher while he struggled on the ground.
"That fucking shitbag!!" Dominic cursed and stormed over to where Detective Fisher and two other policemen were, with the man against the car struggling to be let free.
"Dom, wait!" I said as I followed him, Dominic walked over to the man as he was about to be put into the car and punched him so hard on the face that even I felt it.
"Woah, hey!" Detective Fisher held him back.
"Fuck you! He almost fucking ran Jaxton over!" Dominic sneered.
"We know," Detective Fisher. "And we also know that he is the guy we've been looking for."
Dominic frowned. "What do you mean?"
"He's the same guy who broke into Dylan's house and tried to kill Raven as well." I said and they all looked at me.
"How do you know?" Dominic asked.
"Dylan," I breathed. "H-He called me." I stated as I gulped and then I remembered we were on the phone before everything fell from my hand. "Shit! I need to call him back, he's gonna freak after we stopped talking." I said but didn't move, my eyes went back to the man with the helmet.
One of the policemen took off his helmet and his eyes were filled with the rage I expected it to be filled with, he was panting hand and glaring at me. His brown hair fell to the side of his face and when I looked at him, I realized he looked really familiar but I just couldn't place my finger on it.
Whom did he look like?

"JAXTON!!" Dylan screamed as he ran towards me, leaving Diana, Isabelle and his parents behind. We were all at the station, waiting to see the man behind the helmet. I stood up from the bench and approached him, he gave me a tight hug that almost pushed me to the ground. "Oh, thank God! Are you okay?!"
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm...I'm fine."
"Oh God, you're not fine mentally, are you?"
I shook my head. "No, but thanks to Dominic I'm alive." I sighed.
Isabelle walked up to me and gave me a hug as well. " I'm glad you're not dead, I really like you."
"Um, t-thank you?" I really didn't know how to respond to that.
"Oh, baby boy!" Bonnie walked up to me and hugged me. "I'mglad you're okay!" She said, hugging me tightly and then kissed my forehead.
"Where is he?" Dylan asked as his mom pulled back.
"Detective fisher has him." Dominic said from behind me.
"Where is he?!" Dylan asked with his voice dripping with anger.
"Dylan." Fisher called as he stepped out.
"You have him, can I see him? I just want to talk to him." Dylan's Dad said.
Detective Fisher rose his brow. "That isn't quite....convincing."
"Oh you better let us see him, we only want to talk." Bonnie said, emphasizing on the 'talk', making it less convincing. If anyone knew the Dexwells then you wouldn't let them see him.
"What do we have so far about his man?" Diana asked, cutting in.
"Who are you, I'm sorry?"
"She's with us." Dylan answered.
Detective Fisher nodded and spoke. "You three were his target from the very beginning and it's become clearer why he wants to kill the three of you."
We all frowned and exchanged looks. "I don't understand." Bonnie said, confused like the rest of us.
"He's been in jail before but he's been coming here as well to visit an inmate." Fisher said and we all stayed silent, waiting for him to finish. "He's a pro at this as well, got out of jail about a year ago."
"Who is he then?" Dominic asked.
Detective Fisher's brow rose as he called out his name. "Vladimir Boyarskiy."
My heart stopped.
Boyarskiy.
That was why he looked so familiar and why we were his target.
"Why does that name sound so familiar?" Dylan asked with a frown as he tried to think but I already knew.
"Does that name ring a bell?" Detective Fisher asked as he looked at me.
I gulped. "Yeah," I muttered. "Boyarskiy." I repeated and they all looked at me.
"Who is he?" Isabelle asked.
"He's Vaughn's brother." I answered, hugging myself immediately.
We were all quiet as the truth had hit us, he was playing his games from inside the ward. Everyone had a surprised or shocked look on their face except
Isabelle and Diana who didn't know whom he was but before they could ask, Dylan spoke.
"Well,"
"Shit."
