67. a thousand more
"San?" Wooyoung says in a breathless voice having just ran there.
San looks up at him from where he was seated on the bench with his legs curled up to his chest. The first thing Wooyoung noticed was the wetness on his cheeks and his dull eyes. Before even saying anything else he quickly walked closer to him, kneeling in front of him on, with his knees in the grass. He didn't even care that his dress pants were getting stained.
All that mattered to him was that his boyfriend was upset about something.
"Hey. Babe, was is it?" His voice was tender as he gently wiped at San's cheeks with his thumb. His brows were deeply furrowed and he was already deciding how he was going to kill whatever guard it was that upset San.
San just shakes his head and looks away from his bright silvery eyes. The way moonlight reflected in them made them sparkle like glitter.
Wooyoung places both of his hands on either side of San's cheeks, guiding the drow's eyes back on his. "San" He says with a firm voice. San bit back more tears once he meets Wooyoung's eyes again. "Damn it, what is it San? Please talk to me" He begs as he wipes at another tear that manages to escape and slid down San's colds cheeks.
"I'm not good enough for you" San says with a sniff.
Wooyoung was taken back by his words. "What?"
"You're a prince Wooyoung. And I'm just... I'm nothing. A nobody. I'm just not good-"
"What are you talking about San?" Wooyoung cuts him off. "Where the hell is all this even coming from? You're more than good enough for me-"
"But not like Winter" San pushes past him, standing up from the bench to face away from him. "You guys looked so good together. Anyone could see it"
Wooyoung pursued him, walking around him to look him dead in the eyes. "I don't like her, San. I like you. I love you" His voice was firm. He didn't understand why the drow was suddenly saying all this. Frankly it kinda made him upset because how many does he need to say he was in love with him before he believed him.
"But I can't give you children!" San's raises his voice in frustration. "I can't give you a family"
Wooyoung froze. Children? Is that what this is all about? "I don't care! Fuck. I don't care San. We can always adopt, it doesn't matter to me"
"But it's not the same" San's voice was weak, faltering as he watched Wooyoung face, looking him in the eyes.
"God dammit San, I. Don't. Care. Children. No children. I literally could not give less of a fuck. You're all the family that I want" He places both hands on San's face once more. "You're all I need. Just you" He whispers as their foreheads connect and their eyes slide close. "So please don't ever say that again. You will always be good enough for me. I love you so much."
San pulled himself closer to Wooyoung's body, wrapping his arms around the vampire's torso as said vampire wiped the tears on either side of his cheeks with his thumbs. San sniffs and his heart swelled. "I fucking love you so fucking much. And I'm gonna continue saying it until it finally sinks into that thick skull of yours"
San couldn't help but laugh at his words. Wooyoung chuckles at him and he leans back to look at his stunning smiling face. "Seriously. How many times do you want me to say it. Because I swear I'll say it that many times"
"Maybe... a thousand more?" San say playfully.
"Deal" Wooyoung replies immediately, his voice laced with exasperation. "I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you-" He begins chanting over and over, picking him up in a spin. San giggles.
"I love you. I love you. I love you-" He places a wet kiss on each of San's cheek after each phrase. "I'm at eight now right? Only nine hundred and ninety two left to-"
San just captures his lips in a deep passionate kiss, cutting him off. Wooyoung holds him tight, pouring all his love into the kiss and San does the same. How could he ever let anyone poison his mind with doubts. No one else in the entire world truly understands what they've been through together. The trials and tribulations they've overcome. The years they've been apart and found each other again. The continous fear of losing the other person.
They love each other. And nothing will change that. Not time. Or distance. Or some jealous crazy bitch trying to set her daughter up with Wooyoung.
Not even death. Because they're soulmates.
San pulls back for air and they breath harshly against each other's wet and parted lips. "I love you too. So, so, so much. I'm sorry I said all that stupid stuff. I'm sorry" His breathing was jagged and his eyes remained closed as did Wooyoung's.
"Yeah. It was pretty stupid" Wooyoung says with a laugh and San leans back at the same time he smacks the back of his head. "Oww" The prince whines and rubs his head with a playful pout.
"You're supposed to say 'it's ok', you loser" San says with his own pout.
"Now why would I lie?" Wooyoung snorts at his own words as he pulls San into his chest for a hug. San just scoffs and welcomes the warm hug. They stood there under the moon and stars, holding each other tight in a calm silence for what felt like a lifetime.
"Y'know... you never actually asked me to dance" San breaks the silence.
Wooyoung laughs and San could hear the reverberating sounds through his chest. "Alright then," He steps back then lifts his hand for San to place his in. "Sir San, may I have the utmost pleasure of being your first and last dance for the night?"
San just chuckles at him, a brow raised in question, but he giddily accepts. "Why of course, Your Highness" He says with a bow. He places his hand in Wooyoung's and the prince draws him close to his chest, one arm wrapped around his small waist. They laugh once their body meets again.
There wasn't any music but it didn't really matter. Just swaying back and forth in the beautiful gardens under the moon lit night was enough. But when San started singing... that was just the cherry on top.
(A thousand years by Christina Perri)
"The day we met,
Frozen I held my breath
Right from the start
I knew that I'd found a home for my heart
Beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone?
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow" His voice was the embodiment of perfect. So so silky and airy, it gave Wooyoung goosebumps just listening to him. "One step closer..."
Wooyoung joins, their voices layering in beautiful harmony. "I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more"
They dance in close synchrony. Eyes firmly on each other as they sang.
"And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more.." They end but San continues to hum the melody as their foreheads connect.
San places a quick peck on his lips before spinning him out and spinning him back into his chest. Wooyoung giggles at the unexpected move as he sinks into the taller's chest. And before San could say anything Wooyoung captures his lips in another toe curling, stomach fluttering kiss. San slides both hands on either side of his face and he kisses him back like he'd never done before.
