32. dilemma

Jaejoong was furious.

"You were careless" He grits, eyes fixed out the window and his back turned to Chiyo. "You let him slip through, not once but twice"

"I know. I-" Chiyo starts.

"No. I don't think you do" He cuts her off. "Two of my children are running around Naex, one of whom, by the way, is supposed to be dead. And you can't do the simplest task of putting him down once and for all"

Chiyo stays quiet, but Wooyoung's words kept replaying over and over in her head. How long are you going to keep running around like a lap dog for him before you realize you'll never mean anything to him. Her brows furrow and her nose flare open. No. He's wrong. Jaejoong cares about me. He always has and he always will.

"I'll take care of it" She reassures. Fresh determination in her voice.

Jaejoong looks at her, the fierceness in her cold grey eyes makes him feel at ease. He steps closer to her, clasping both sides of her face between his hands. "I know you can do it. You've never let me down before" He mutters in her lips and she nods, hypnotised by him. He places a sweet kiss on her lips and just before it could deepen he pulls back.

"The storm should calm down soon. Take more soldiers if you need. Just end this" He says, eyes practically staring into her soul.

She swallows and smirks a little. "I will" He grins at her confidence. She turns to leave the room, her knee length boots clicking on the tiled floor.

"Oh and Chi.." Jaejoong calls as he reaches for a pitcher with blood in it to pour some for himself in a wine glass. "Bring Jongho back alive. Death is far too merciful a punishment for him"

"Understood" She mutters to herself, eyes bloodthirsty.

San steps out of the cave with a stretch. It was morning and it had rained pretty much the enitre night. Birds chirp in the trees in the distance, crickets sounds and other forest critters join in bringing the area to life. The forest smelled damp, the familiar scent of the aftermath of a rainfall wafts up his nostrils. It was therapeutic and oddly nostalgic. It reminded him of his old life back in Lloth. That feels like a lifetime ago...

He feels a pair of arms snake around him from behind and he smiles to himself, and lets himself sink back into his hold. Wooyoung presses a kiss against the side of his neck and San gladly angled his head, giving him the space to nip at the pale skin on his neck and shoulder.

"Morning" Wooyoung's voice was scratchy and caused goosebumps to form all along his arms. He shivered when Wooyoung lips graze his ear.

"Can you guys not do that right in front of the exit, have some class" Jongho walks around them eager to get some fresh air as well.

Wooyoung pulls back with an embarrassed smile. It was so hard keeping his hands off San, he couldn't wait till they were finally alone. "Boo hoo" Wooyoung picks up a small pebble and tries tossing it at his brother who only dodges with ease while laughing.

The next to leave the cave was Junkyu who looked a little extra pale. The withdrawals were hitting quicker than he anticipated. Jongho was the first to notice how sickly he appeared. He quickly rushes to his side. "Shit. Is it the water withdrawals?" He asks and Junkyu nods slowly.

"We need to get him into some water" Jongho puts Junkyu's arm around his shoulder to help him up.

"Why didn't he go in the rain last night?" San asks, genuinely concerned.

"It doesn't work like that. Merpeople need to be submerged in large bodies of water. The rain wouldn't have done much" Wooyoung answers. "I'll look around the area to see if there's a lake nearby"

"There's a small river up north" Seonghwa calls from the distance, as he made his way past the tall trees. He was shirtless and had his pants hanging dangerously low on his hips. His clear cut v line accented his toned stomach. His happy trail led down and disappeared into his pants. San felt his face heat up but he tries to stay unaffected.

"Where were you?" San asks, fighting the urge to oogle. His damp dark brown hair messy and disheveled, long lashes fluttering as he came to a stop on front of San.

It must be a trial by fire not to look at anything else but his soft dark grey eyes and even that was evidently too much for him.

"Scouted the area then went for a run" He answers simply.

"Did you shift? You could've been seen" San says slightly alarmed. His hand grazes Seonghwa's arm and leaves tingles in its wake. Seonghwa wanted desperately for him to touch him again.

"I can handle myself" Seonghwa says with a boyish smile and a wink and San playfully pushes his shoulder.

"We should get him to the river then" Wooyoung says, deciding to break their interaction. It was getting a bit too touchy for his comfort.

Seonghwa meets Wooyoung's icy gaze and they silently glare at each other then Seonghwa walks past him to the merman. "I've got him" He says to Jongho. Seonghwa offers to carry him on his back and soon they were off to the river.

San and Wooyoung lagged behind, hands interlaced. "God, I just want 5 minutes alone with you" Wooyoung whispers in his ear, voice smokey and kinda of arousing. San's legs nearly gave out.

"We have an eternity now, don't we?" San whispers back alluding to the fact that he was a vampire now. The very thought of living the rest of his immortal life with Wooyoung made his heart sing and his skin buzz.

Wooyoung grins and places a small peck beside his mouth. "That we do"

San watches with a smile as Wooyoung, Jongho and Junkyu play tag in the water. A game that Junkyu obviously excelled at seeing as he was the only one with a tail.

"Yah! Why do you keep going after me?" Wooyoung yells while laughing and frantically swimming away. Jongho hot on his heels.

"Because Junkyu's too fast" Jongho laughs out with him. Though seeing as he only just recently learned how to swim it was still a bit of a struggle catching Wooyoung.

Seonghwa sits down next to San on the river side, still shirtless. San clears his throat and sits up-right. He glances at the werewolf. "You're not gonna wash up?"

Seonghwa arches a brow and looks at him with mock offense. "Are you saying I stink?"

San rolls his eyes, the coners of his lips lifted into a grin. "You know what I mean. Also yes, you do kind of smell like wet dog" His nose scrunches, teasing him further.

"Hey" Seonghwa playfully pushes him causing him to fall over on his side. San laughs heartily and pushes himself back up. "I was kidding"

Seonghwa smirks and looks back out at the trio goofing around in the water. A calm silence settles between them and San quite enjoyed it. It felt comfortable, relaxing, safe. Things he often felt whenever he was with Seonghwa.

"What's gonna happen now?" Seonghwa breaks the silence. "You found Wooyoung. So... what now?" His dark grey eyes shifts to his and they stare at each other. His eyes were milky and warm and lustrous and had so much want.

San felt his heart skip a beat so he breaks their eye contact, looking for Wooyoung in the water. He meets the prince's eyes, meaning he was watching them, but Wooyoung quickly looks away, pretending as though he hadn't been staring.

"I don't know" San says honestly and with a shrug. He runs his hand through his hair and shifts away from Seonghwa a little. "Take down Jaejoong I suppose. Because as long as he's around, Wooyoung isn't safe"

"Hm" Seonghwa nods, choosing not to let the fact that he'd just inched away have any affect on him. "Do you love him?"

San was taken back by the question and he almost brushed it off with a joke but Seonghwa looks at him with so much sobriety on his expression. "That's something that stays between him and I" He says with the tiniest of smiles, tactfully evading the question.

Seonghwa scoffs. "Boooo"

"Hey, my love life, my business" San says pointedly. "I still can't believe he's really here. All this time and I was beginning to lose hope in ever seeing him again but.. I'm just glad the universe has given us a second chance"

"I'm happy for you. Really. And... I'm not going to lie, it's hard seeing you be with someone else" San gets an uncomfortable look on his face. "But I understand he means a lot to you. As long as you're happy that's all that matters to me"

San breathes a sigh of relief at his proclamation. He grew uncomfortable at the topic of both of 'them' because though he knows he loves Wooyoung, no doubt about it, and now finally has him back but he also has.. lingering feelings for the werewolf. More than just a friendship. But that's all they could be, that's all they should be. Just friends.

It was hard being around him when all he could think about was how amazing of a kisser he is. How wild he is in bed. All their sensual erotic.. activities. How do we carry on just being 'friends' after all that?

"San" Wooyoung's voice snaps his back to attention. The vampire is now waddling towards him, his underwear wet and clung to his hips. His hair dripping wet with droplets of water sliding down his pale skin on his chest and stomach. "What were you guys talking about?" Wooyoung sits on San's left side and immediately takes his hand, interlacing their fingers.

"Nothing really just... stuff" San sputters out, his head still not quite clear yet.

Wooyoung chuckles, eyes watching San who still seemed a little dazed. "You alright?"

San nods, smiling wistfully at him. "Great now that you're here" He gives Wooyoung's wet hand a small squeeze.

"I'm gonna go see if I can find something to eat" Seonghwa announces from San's right side, already pulling himself up to his feet.

"Y-yeah.. sure" San tries to catch his gaze but it was obvious he was trying to avoiding his eyes. He sucks in a breath and turns his attention back to Wooyoung.
