"I'm back, little sister. Miss me?" is the first thing River said before engulfing me in a hug.

"It was indeed very peaceful without you. You should go on vacation more often," I joked. No way in hell I was telling him what our mother put me through.

River let me go.

"Natalia, my sweet daughter how I've missed you!" My father is the next one to pull me in for a hug. Oh how I loved my dad.

"I missed you!"

He gave me one last big squeeze before letting me go, "Look how you've grown! My princess is becoming a queen!"

I twirled and an everlasting smile appeared on my face. My dad was the one who kept mother in check and kept me out of trouble. I loved him for it.

"Let's get dinner?" River questioned.

"Splendid idea! Jane, Camille, feel free to join us!" For the first time the two were brought into the spotlight.

"Oh no, I wouldn't want to intrude," Jane spoke.

"Nonsense! Your joining us!" There was no objection except for one.

"Daniel, we have to have dinner with the O'Neils." mother always ruined our fun.

My dad frowned.

"Right," He turns back to us, "raincheck guys?"

"No problem, we can still go," River said.

"Great! Next time, I promise." he always seemed to be promising something that he could not uphold.

We simply nod.

Dad follows mom into the kitchen and we stand around in the living room, "so, we still on for dinner?" River asked.

"Sure I got nothing better to do," I shrugged.

"Really, the popular Natalia Vanderson has nothing to do?" River faked a gasp.

I pushed him lightly.

"Shut up, " I turned towards Jane, "where do you wanna go?" I asked her.

She shrugged.

"Let's go to your favorite restaurant ," River suggests while looking at Jane.

"I'm down, just let me go change this jumper is eh," I ran up the stairs and into my room. I threw on a pair of tight fitting white washed ripped jeans, and a white spaghetti strapped crop top. I had to dig through my closet to find my timberlands, when I found them I put them on then threw down my perfectly straight hair. I grabbed my phone off the charger to see everyone had been blowing up my phone while I was gone all afternoon.

Ignoring everyone I turn on, do not disturb and run downstairs.

River, Jane, and Camille waited for me at the bottom of the staircase. It seems that everyone has changed,"let's go, I'm starving."

River opens the door and we all file out. Camille and him in his car, and Jane and I in mine. We met up twenty minutes later at Janes favorite restaurant, Nikolai. Nikolai is a Russian style restaurant that serves Russian food of course. I don't care for it, but it's whatever.

We all walked inside and got sat at a table that seated five. I sat awkwardly next to Jane while she talked across River to Camille. They seem to be well acquainted for some odd reason. I took this time to open my phone and go through some of the messages.

Lindsey's freaking out give her a call.

Before I had time to respond someone came up behind me and covered my eyes. I blinked a few times my eye lashes brushing against their skin, "long time no see. Not even a call back?"

I immediately knew who it was and stood up turning around.

"Jaleena," my eyes met her and she had a huge smile on her face.

"You know, they warned me about you. They all tried, but I ignored them-" I cut her off mid sentence by crashing my lips into hers.

"I'm not like they say, believe me," I whispered onto her lips.

We pulled apart, "I believe you," her eyes were planted on the people behind us and I turned around. I sat back down and pulled her to the empty chair next me.

"Guys this is Jaleena!" I said my smile flashing my perfect pearly whites.

River frowns.

"Jaleena nice to meet you," River broke the dead silence that fell over the table, "Jane, out of curiosity where did you sleep last night?" The attention was turned from me to Jane.

"I-uhh," she looked at me for a split second then back at River, and sank in her seat.

"You couldn't of slept in the guest bedroom the bed was still made exactly how our maid makes it, and she doesn't come in on the weekends,"

My smile slowly faded. Last night, I broke down. She was the one with me. She stayed with me all night.

"I-umm-couch," Jane stuttered out in a high pitched voice.

"Now you see I know your lying," River grilled her.

"Brother stop, leave the poor girl alone," I chuckled not wanting the truth to come out.

"She's my best friend! I have the right to know where she slept at my house while I was gone."

"She said where she slept on the couch," why won't he let it go?

"I know she's lying. Why are you trying to cover for her, Talia? Wait," River stopped mid sentence," is there something going on between you two?" Jaleena abruptly stood up and walked away. I stood up also.

"River! What the fuck!"

River sat in his seat.

"Toys don't belong at the dinner table," he said, sitting back in seat.

I flipped him off then ran after her.

I caught her just as she was pulling out. Cursing under my breath I stand behind her car blocking her way out.

Lucky for me she comes to a quick abrupt halt. 

She rolls down her window and sticks her head out, "Natalia what the fuck are you doing?"

"Where are you going?" I begin to walk to her window.

"Home."She begins pulling out again.

I grab her door handle as she tries, "stop!"

"No Natalia you stop, stop playing with my emotions, stop saying you want me when I'm not really the one you want!"

"Would I be running after you if I didn't want you!" I exploded, "Jaleena, believe me when I say you make me happy, honest to god. In the little time I've known you, you have made me happier than I have been in years!" Jaleena looked down.

"Did you sleep with her?"

My eyes widened, "What?!"

"Did you, sleep, with Jane?"

I shook my head, "No! Of course I didn't she's my Brothers best friend!"

Jaleena stopped her car and got out, "I believe you," and she was the one who kissed me this time.
