Chapter 4
Ah, the mall. Home to the cliques.
Scarlett, Erin and I were sitting at a table in the food court and eating fro-yo, chatting about ourselves. I found out some interesting things about them.
Being a redhead, Scarlett might not have a soul (joking) but she definitely has a soulful voice. I found she is funny and gentle but has a seriously stubborn streak. She's likes Panic! at the Disco but she's actually a pop girl as well.
Erin was a friend of Scarlett's that she wanted me to meet. Erin was the polar opposite of Scarlett. She had black hair and brown eyes and wore anime character t-shirts. She loved all the same bands as me and had even seen Avenged Sevenfold in concert last year.
"Any more people you need to introduce me to?" I joked with Scarlett.
"Just Leah but she is forever late, that child. Oh and Kat."
Leah and Kat turned out to be another set of opposites. Leah was a caramel-skinned girl with a loud mouth and crazy attitude. She would literally do anything you ask her and within minutes had me in stitches.
Kat was a tall girl with thick brown hair who was addicted to Tumblr. She used to be a Girl Guide and is a hopeless romantic. She doesn't talk that much but she is still really funny when she does.
It turns out that Kat was in my class but I just didn't notice her earlier. Awks.
The conversation eventually turned to guys.
"How hot is Drew Siam?"
"I know right? Like dayum son!"
"I'm just a sucker for bad boys like him."
"Be careful," I warned. "Bad guys are almost always players and never mind what you read in books, you can't change that. Plus he's a conceited douchebag who thinks every girl will just fall into his arms."
"But they will," Erin pointed out.
"Beside the point, he is still arrogant."
"I'm saw him making out with Yvonne Owens during lunch. Like, chill. The term just started."
"Ew gag me. She would make out with a stick if it had lips."
"Was she the prostitute in the pink boory shorts and the designer blazer?" I asked.
"The one and only. Heaven have mercy, but she irritates the living piss out of me."
We kept on talking about the different cliques in the school and the teachers, the subjects and the classes and about our lives. I could hardly believe it had been three hours when I got home.
As predicted, my dad was not at home. Typical. I cooked some chicken and frozen veggies and made some sauce. After I ate supper, I showered and packed my bag for tomorrow. Kennedy High School was looking up. A little.

The photo is Leah and Kat's matching outfits. ^_^
