Chapter 30

Dedicated to my Georgian friend forever_animated ^-^

It was the last drive of our roadtrip: the drive home. The last week had been an absolute blast and I never wanted it to end. But we still had two more weeks left of break to hang and we had made some incredible, irreplaceable memories. For the last stretch our playlist was just classic rock from the 70's, 80's and 90's. We snapped a few more Polaroids and Scarlett dropped me and Luke off at my house.

My dad and Christine were there, waiting to greet us. My dad had dinner ready for us and over Spaghetti, we told him about the trip. Naturally we left out the booze, not that I think my dad was stupid enough to think that we didn't drink at all. After dinner, we had some apple pie that Christine had made.

"So how's the wedding planning coming along?" I asked.

"Well. We have a venue, a menu and a guest list sorted out. Now we get to plan decor," came my dad's reply.

"Actually Jay, there's something I'd like to ask you," said Christine.

Oh shit. Please don't ask what I think you're about to ask.

"Will you be a bridesmaid for our wedding?"

"Uh sure. Sounds great," I lied through my teeth.

We continued a rather one-sided conversation on the wedding until my dad and Christine said they were tired. Then Luke and I stayed up watching The Conjuring until we fell asleep on the couch.

I woke up on the couch and at first could not remember how I got there. Then I was reminded by Luke walking over to wake me up.

"Morning, loser," he teased. "Pancakes for breakfast."

"That's not very nice," I pouted. Laughing, I stood up and pulled on a pair of slippers.

"Bunnies?" Luke said with a raised eyebrow.

"Don't judge. Plus you're just jealous," I answered.

We kept up the teasing until eventually my dad asked us to stop and said he had something important to discuss.

"So once the honeymoon is over, Luke and Christine will move into our house. Now Christine and I will share my room and Jay, you will keep your room. Luke can either have your music studio or the guest room as his," my dad announced.

I could have slapped him. My music studio was my life! Back in Australia, I had originally had a little bit of equipment in my room for recording. Then when my equipment had increased, my dad gave me a spare room. Now he just expected me to give this up?

Thankfully, Luke sensed this.

"Actually, James, I think I'll just check out the rooms first after breakfast. I wouldn't want to just give up my recording studio so I can hardly expect Jay to do the same."

I wanted to kiss him! I mouthed a quick and heartfelt "thank you" as we finished breakfast. Luke and I did the dishes while my dad took Christine wedding dress shopping. Afterwards, we unpacked our suitcases and I put on a load of washing. Luke chcked out the rooms and chose the guest room. Then we played Xbox until my dad came back. Not to brag but I totally beat his ass at GTA.

The next day I was meeting Kat for coffee at Starbucks. She was gonna give me the flash and I was gonna edit it. We both ordered our drinks and she told me about the last week. Then I told her about the roadtrip and showed her some of the Polaroids.

Then we spent a glorious hour shopping. I didn't get much except a new cellphone cover that was galaxy and said "Bitch, hands off" and a new pair of sunglasses. Kat, however, bought two dresses and DIY tumblr supplies like you wouldn't believe.

She told me about her new YouTube channel and how she was gonna do DIY's and fashion and hair and makeup tutorials. Kat had started planning it at the start of the year and was gonna upload her first video in two days. I was super excited when she promised me a feature on a video. At 14:00 I left the mall to get home.

I was busy editing the drunk footage of Drew. Basically, in the video, he is just stumbling around and looking like an idiot. The video is five minutes and halfway through he starts singing Don't Stop Believing by Journey at the top of his intoxicated voice. He also said many other things that had me in stitches. I had never laughed so hard in my life. I edited the starting and ending few seconds out because you could see Nate had filmed it. I also edited Queen's We Are The Champions to the end of the video to add some flair. Then I printed out all the Herpes Support Club posters.

Say a prayer, Drew. You're gonna need it.
