"Close your eyes,"
"My eyes are closed," I sighed, the impatience getting the better of me.
I'd been stood with my eyes closed for the past fifteen minutes, whilst I waited for him to run back to the house. I had no idea what he had planned, but to say I was nervous was an understatement. For all, I knew I could open my eyes and he could sucker punch me in the face and say "Haha, you thought this was all real,"
I really need to get some medication for my paranoia.
"You aren't peeking are you?"
"No, I'm not peeking." I shifted in my stance, I really needed to pee, "Hurry up Brody,"
"I am hurrying, this just took longer than I expected," I heard some noises and what sounded like paper being torn in a struggle, "Bloody hell, how thick is this?"
I cocked a brow. I hoped he wasn't talking about something else...
"You'd think it would be easier to open," He groaned, more noises coming from where he was stood. I shifted in my stance as I tried to resist the urge to peek. It sounded like whatever he was doing wasn't as simple as it thought. I could almost imagine the determination and sweat on his face. He let out one final groan and then silenced followed.
"You can open them now," I heard the caution in his tone and I slowly opened my eyes.
My breath hitched in my throat and I gaped openly at the sight of his chiselled freshly shaven jaw, his chin, his cheekbones and his whole profile. He was leaning against the wall in navy dress trousers, a blue button-down shirt and his hair were styled in a messy fashion. He was so handsome from the depths of his eyes to the gentle expression on his face as he watched me.
I suddenly felt self-conscious in my day-old jeans, his t-shirt and tangled hair. He looked like an adonis and I looked like a hobo. I wrapped my arms around myself and he instantly noticed.
In two long strides, he was in front of me, his arms wrapped around my back with his thumb tracing circles on my exposed skin, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I mumbled trying to avoid looking him in the eyes.
He gently tilted my chin with his finger so I had no choice but to look at him, "Don't lie, I can tell when you are lying,"
I cocked a brow, "You do?"
"Yes," He chuckled, "Your nose scrunches when you're lying,"
"It does not," My nose instantly scrunched up.
Damn it.
How did he know I had this trait when I was completely unaware? My body and I were going to have words later.
His eyes turned serious, "Tell me what was wrong,"
"You look amazing and look at me," I gestured to myself in deflation, "I look like something out of a comedy sketch,"
He shook his head, "Ivy, you look beautiful, no matter what you are wearing,"
"Really?" My eyes widened, "Even if I was covered in dogs poo?"
He laughed, "Even if you were covered in dogs poo,"
I raised a brow, "You sure about that?"
I mean I wouldn't think he's too fruity if he was covered in poo.
"Yes, it's what's underneath the dog's poo that counts,"
I almost gagged at the image, "Okay this conversation has turned weird,"
"Yeah, it has," He shivered, "Anyway, I didn't make you close your eyes because I was changing, I actually have a present for you," He sheepishly glanced at the bed, his hand rubbing at the back of his head.
It was in rare moments that Brody felt uncomfortable. He was usually so confident and oozed sex appeal, but when he acted like this it reminded me that he was just like everyone else.
I followed his eyes and gasped, a hand flying up to hold my chest because I was afraid my heart would breakthrough.
Laying on the bed, gently, elegantly and looking as beautiful as I remembered it was the dress he'd made me try on at the mall.
"You Uh you brought me-" My head shook wordlessly, unable to form a sentence.
"Ever since you put it on I couldn't get the image out of my head, I needed to see you in it again to see how stunning you are, besides I want to take you out," He was closer, his hot breath fanning my neck and I felt electricity run through me. He kissed the soft spot at the nape of my neck, "I want to take you on a date,"
I turned my head ever so slightly, our lips almost touching, "You want to take me on a date?"
His eyes flickered to my lips, "I want to take you out properly, where I can show you off now that I know you are mine and I'm yours, none of the bull shit and hiding anymore,"
"I would love to go on a date with you," I felt my lips stretch out into a smile. I'd go anywhere he asked if it meant I'd get to stand by his side.
"I'm glad," His lips brushed mine, "Go put the dress on, I'm already thinking about when I get to take it off you,"

"Well isn't this sweet,"
I felt my whole body tense as I slowly turned to find Brody's father stood in the hallway, watching us with a disgusted look across his face. He had a new glass of whiskey in his hand. His eyes trailed the dress I was wearing and he snorted into his glass.
"Is there a problem dad?" Brody said through his teeth draping a protective arm around my shoulder. I subconsciously nuzzled into his chest and had to focus on my breathing so I didn't lose it in front of his father.
There were so many words I wanted to say to him, none of them was pleasant.
"I just think it's adorable that you are playing dress up, going anywhere nice?"
"Yes, we are actually," Brody spat.
"You kids, I'll never understand," Mr Jackson rolled his eyes, "I guess I can see why you boys like her," Thanks, it's not like I'm standing in front of you, "A lot less working-class looking in a dress, aren't you?"
"Do not speak to my girlfriend like that," Brody exploded, his fists clenched so tightly at his sides they turned white.
Wait- hold up- did he just call me his girlfriend?
I mean don't you have to ask someone first? I'm not complaining, at all, we did tell each other we loved each other but lord what happened to the romance?
I'd at least like some flowers and maybe a card as a grand gesture first?
Mr Jackson looked as shocked as I was, he almost choked on his whiskey and his cheeks went beet red.
"Girlfriend?" He repeated and blinked.
"Yes," Brody grabbed my hand tightly, "You will have to get used to her being around if you want me around,"
He spun around, which in turn span me around as I was still attached to his hand and as I passed Mr Jackson I gave him a smug look.
Ivy -1-
Mr Jackson -0-
"Wait, what about what we had discussed?" Mr Jackson yelled as we were making our way down the lawn.
"Screw what we had discussed," Brody replied, loud enough so even the neighbour mowing his lawn from across the street had heard. I didn't turn back to see Mr Jackson's face but I could feel his glares boring into my back.
I stared up at Brody, smiling like a proud Mumma bear. He had finally become a man, standing up to his Lord Farquhar of a father. It felt like we were in a movie, moving in slow motion down the lawn, expect I tripped over my dress and nearly face planted.
When we reached the car, Brody opened the door for me and I sat on his plush leather seats soaking in the smell of mint from his air freshener. He sat in the drivers' side. turned his keys and put the car in drive, moving his hand to rest it on my thigh. I looked down at his hand and a smile stretched on my face.
"I hope you don't mind me calling you my girlfriend," He said his eyes focused on the road ahead, I could sense the nervousness in his voice, "I should have really asked you first,"
"So ask me," I asked keeping my lips pressed firmly together to suppress the laughter from escaping. I loved putting Brody on the spot.
"Will you-" He paused shaking his head and trying to steady himself as his voice wavered, "Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Of course I'll be your girlfriend," I grinned, reaching out and stroking the side of his face. He nestled into my hand and we stayed like that for a little while. He twisted his head and kissed my palm.
Brody and I were official. I couldn't contain the excitement inside me. Granted we had done things a little untraditional. Sleeping together, telling we love each other, dating and then going official but when did Brody and I ever conform to the norm?
"You ready for our first date?" He wiggled his eyes at me.
I rolled my eyes moving my hand to my lap, "It depends where it is, I hope this isn't your opportunity to bury me in a ditch,"
"Dammit, how did you know?" He smacked his steering wheel with a playful look in his eyes, "I've been planning this for a while and now you know, it's no longer a surprise,"
"Well, it better be a good way to die, I can't be killed by a basic bish,"
He gasped theatrically, "I am not a basic bish,"
"Could have fooled me," I mumbled under my breath,
"Hey," He ruffled my hair with the hand that wasn't on the steering wheel, "Don't be mean to me, I'm just about to rock your world,"
"Are you now? And how are you going to do that?"
"By taking you on the best date you've ever been on,"
Well I mean he doesn't have many to compete against but I wasn't about to tell him that.
"Where are we going?" My eyes wandered over the road we were on and the familiar street signs and buildings. We passed a turning and I felt like I had Deja Vu.
He glanced at me beaming and his eyes glistened in the car lights, "We're going to Zens,"
