Chapter 11: Lost and Found

"Where is she, Kim Namjoon?" The man stood tall on his doorstep. Namjoon started to reach his hand at his back but he realized he didn't bring his gun with him.

"Don't even think about it." The man warned him. To show he was serious, he opened one side of his coat and showed a gun strapped at his side. Namjoon gulped as he noticed a silencer on the firearm.

"Don't worry. I'm not here to kill you," the man stated nonchalantly.

"May I come in?" Namjoon stood aside numbly and closed the door.

The mysterious man looked around the house, glancing at the shabby furniture and the limited decorations placed on some surfaces. The state of the furniture wasn't the worst he'd seen, except it wasn't cared for. Based on the gouges seen on the coffee table and the layer of dust on the frame of the television screen. The man sniffed, eyeing a cobweb on the far corner of the living room. "I thought the famous assassins have been living in a wealthy lifestyle?" he turned to Namjoon.

Namjoon took note of his comment. Seeing how much the man already has of their personal information. "Our identities will be exposed if we gallivant and show how wealthy we are living, considering this neighbourhood is in the low end of the area," Namjoon replied.

"Great thinking, assassin." He smirked and sat down on the couch while Namjoon proceeded to the kitchen. There was no use being alarmed on this unexpected arrival. He clearly was visiting, and if the man was here to kill there would've been blood already spilt on the floor.

"Do you want a drink or something?" Namjoon called out from the kitchen.

"A cup of tea would be great." Namjoon prepared it and walked out with a tray and a cup of green tea.

"Here." He put the cup in front of his guest and sat on the couch next to him.

"Thank you," he said taking a sip of the drink.

A minute ticked by in silence and Namjoon agitatedly grabbed his cigarette box from the coffee table. "So, who are you and why are you here?" He asked as he lit up a cigarette.

"My name is Nakamoto Yuta. I'm the leader of yakuza from Inagawa Clan." Yuta introduced himself.

"A yakuza? What the fuck is the Japanese gangsters doing here in this country?" Namjoon asked.

"Actually, Inagawa clan is the only overseas clan that has been operating as of now, outside of Japan. We had been further building this clan about two months ago."

"So... you said that you wanted to see Yoobin. Why?"

"Because--" Before Yuta could continue, they both turned to the sound of a bookshelf moving. Namjoon's eyes widened in alarm as his friend appeared.

"Yo Joonie, do you have a--" Jackson stopped talking and bit his tongue, realizing there was a well-dressed man sitting on the couch. He shot to Namjoon's set face and he could only describe it as one word; pissed.

"Dammit, Jack! How many times do I have to tell you?! Do not go out of the basement if someone came to my house!" he yelled.

"I didn't know you were having visitors today! If I'd known I'd check the cameras from downstairs. I'm sorry!"

Namjoon rubbed his face and sighed. "Man, we need to move to another secret door after this."

"And why is there a yakuza lounging on the couch right now?" Jackson pointed at Yuta.

"How did you know he's a yakuza?" Namjoon asked.

"I recognize that badge." Jackson pointed to the man's coat. "He's from the Inagawa clan."

"And you must be Wang Jackson, the third eyes." Yuta's eyes glinted as he greeted Jackson.

"Man, he's creepy!" Jackson jumped back towards the wall.

"I already know about everyone's identities here. Kim Namjoon, Wang Jackson, Choi Yuna and lastly... Lee Yoobin." Jackson's already wide eyes met Namjoon's at Yuta's claim.

Namjoon raised his hands up. "Hey, I didn't give any information to him."

"But..." Yuta continued, "I didn't come here as an enemy. I came here just to meet Lee Yoobin."

"Yoobin?" Jackson repeated.

"It's Dami, dude," Namjoon spoke.

"Dami? Who's Dami?" Yuta asked the two. Before either of them could reply, the front door opened to let in Yuju and Dami already coming back from the sports store.

"Namjoon oppa! I'm back with the ball! Let's play!" Dami shouted.

Yuta quickly stood up from the couch as he finally found the person he wanted to meet.

Dami stopped short and glanced at Yuta for a while but then, her head was suddenly bombarded with memories coming too fast for her to comprehend. It induced so much pain in her head as she collapsed on the floor.

"Dami!" All of them alarmed, they ran towards her crumpled form. Namjoon hoisted her up and brought her to her room. The rest followed him as he laid her on the bed.

"How is she, Joonie?" Jackson asked, coming in next to him.

"She just fainted," Namjoon replied, checking her over. Yuju standing at the foot of the bed, only just realized Yuta hovering behind Namjoon.

"Who is he?" Yuju pointed at Yuta.

"Nakamoto Yuta. A yakuza from Inagawa clan," Jackson spoke.

Yuta glanced at Dami for a while as his expression changed. "Please forgive me. I just want to meet Lady Yoobin but I didn't expect that she will become like this." Yuta spoke.

"What do you mean 'Lady Yoobin' ?" Yuju asked him.

Yuta took a deep breath sensing he needed to explain more. After that, he continued. "Actually...she is my boss."

"What?!" The trio cried in shock.

"It's a long story..."

-----------------
Aizukotetsu clan is a clan that uses samurai sword as their main weapon. All the yakuza in the clan are master in swords and the word 'kotetsu' means types of Japanese swords. And it's not just swords, the clan also provide fire weapons too.

Lady Yoobin was just five years old when she was found unconscious inside a forest, covered in blood. A yakuza family from Aizukotetsu clan brought her home and all the medical assistants were immediately called, as to treat a deep gash wound on her back. The doctors thought she couldn't make it. But, she managed to survive from the injuries and the family readily adopted her after that.

They also had an adopted son who is three years older than her. He had become Lady Yoobin's older brother and their relationship was tight from the start.

Since Lady Yoobin had been adopted by a yakuza family, she started to learn the yakuza culture and trained hard, along with her brother. Both of them were thick as thieves. They were involved in Yakuza's industry since childhood and when they were in their teens, they had defeated many yakuza from other clans that want to take down their family's empire and the clan as an honorary reward, gave them the official yakuza tattoo.

Her brother had a Wings tattoo, symbolizing the one who will build groups of warriors and rise the clan to victory while Lady Yoobin had a Dreamcatcher tattoo, the one that has good spirits to help her fight for the clan and take down all the bad spirits.

One day, the big boss of the clan, which was their father wanted one of their children to replace his seat as he was getting old. Half of the clan wanted the eldest to get the throne but the other half wanted Lady Yoobin.

They're really close siblings but they do have different characters. Her brother would always use violence to get whatever he wants and always likes to show off his power in the public eye. Breaking laws is like part of his hobby but unlike his sister, Lady Yoobin is opposite from her brother. She might come from a yakuza family but she was a calm and humble person. Always act like a normal citizen and her kindness made people around her don't think she's a yakuza. But on jobs, she does it effortlessly and finishes it in no time.

At first, Lady Yoobin refused to become the new boss of the yakuza clan because she thought her brother might be more suitable to handle the throne but half of the members that supported her were disappointed. Seeing that, her father didn't want them to give up on her so he decided to have a one on one yakuza match, between Lady Yoobin and her brother.

One on one yakuza match is a match between yakuza and yakuza. They have to fight until the opponent is knocked down and unconscious. The one who survives have to kill the opponent with a sword to show that they had won the match. She had no choice but accepted the challenge because it was her father's order. That time, her brother had changed completely, becoming reckless and selfish and he didn't care that they have grown up together. He just wanted his father's seat and become the new boss.

During the fight, her brother was relentless. I was there when the fight was going on. But then, I realized that Lady Yoobin didn't put a single fist on her brother. I understood her pain as they had been raised together since little and she grew to really love her brother. To make her brother win by defeating her, she didn't throw a single blow and let him beat her until she was unconscious even if she had to be killed by her beloved brother.

Sadly her brother didn't realize her intentions at all as he always thought that Lady Yoobin was weak. After many receiving punches, she was knocked down on the tatami floors, with bruises and wounds covering her body. She didn't run away from death and instead she accepted her death as her destiny.

Before her brother could kill her however, their father finally stopped the fight and announced the winner. Everyone thought that the oldest son would get his father's throne but they were all wrong, including the oldest. The big boss instead gave his throne to... Lady Yoobin.

--------------

"Wait!"Jackson suddenly interrupted Yuta 's story. "We really don't understand. Dami lost that battle but why did her father give the throne to her?" he asked.

"Because the big boss knew about Lady Yoobin's plan since the beginning. He knew that she couldn't put any harm on her brother because she loved her brother so much and she didn't want their relationship to break because of one throne. But, their father couldn't accept her brother's greed and violence towards his sister so that was why he gave the throne to Lady Yoobin. Her brother had been forced to leave the family clan forever," Yuta stated.

"Then, what happened? How was she found dying on the streets?" asked Yuju.

Yuta gritted his teeth, trying to control his anger. "Her brother... started to protest along with Sumiyoshi clan and took down the family empire and... killed his parents.

"How was Yoobin even alive then?" Yuju asked horrified.

"I took her away when she was still badly injured and that time, her brother's clan pounced like beasts, trying to chase us. I managed to hide her unconscious body behind the dumpster while we were hunted and I left her to let them catch me. I've also managed to escape from them and when I came back, her body was gone. For three months I had been searching for her and I found her at the North District, that night when you guys fought with the big muscle men. That's why I've been following you around until now."

"Why? So we can give her back to you? We can't let you take her just like that," said Namjoon.

"Why not, Namjoon oppa?" asked Yuju.

"She still had amnesia, remember?" Jackson replied.

"Amnesia?" asked Yuta.

"When I took her home, she was still in an unconscious state. A few days later, she awoke but she didn't remember anything, including her own name. As a cover story, I told her that I'm her brother and that time I gave her a fake name; it's Kim Dami," stated Namjoon.

"Dami? Why?"

"Because he always thought that she's a 'dummy' person so--"

Namjoon cut Jackson off. "Shut up!" he hissed.

Yuta smiled smugly. "Same like her brother, who always thought that she's weak but actually she's two times stronger and smarter than her brother. That's why he can't accept that fact and wanted to kill her."

"Is her brother still trying to find her?" Yuju asked him and he shook his head.

"Not for now but he's still out there and now he's the boss of the biggest yakuza clan, Yamaguci clan."

"Ya-yamaguci?!" Jackson snapped.

"You know about that clan, Jackson oppa?" Yuju asked her boyfriend.

"T-they are biggest and the dangerous yakuza clan ever," he spoke.

"And he's here, in this district," Yuta added. The atmosphere suddenly tensed as they heard the news about Dami's brother location.

"What are we going to do now?" Namjoon asked.

"I came here, not just to meet her. I'm here to tell you to protect her. Don't let her show herself to the public. They have eyes around the country and what I know, Yamaguci is starting to be careful after they had heard the news about the assassins who kill many gangsters' bosses in this country. which is all of you," Yuta eyed them.

"I don't think that we can do that to her," Yuju spoke.

"Because she could sense something easily?" They all nodded.

"That's her speciality, other than quick learning. That's why we, the clan members want her to become the boss of yakuza. Because of her brother's greediness, Aizukotetsu is just history..." They remained silence for a while. Then, Yuta glanced at his watch as it was almost time for him to go.

"I have to go now. Remember what I told you." Yuta reminded Namjoon once again and walked out from Dami's bedroom as Namjoon followed him.

As he almost reached the front door, he suddenly stopped his movement. "By the way..." Yuta turned around, took out a business card from his pocket and gave it to Namjoon.

"I have opened a restaurant just around here and tonight we will hold a formal dinner to celebrate our opening day. Why don't you and the rest come for tonight?"

"Thank you, but no thank you. We have a job to do." Namjoon refused Yuta's invitation.

"I forgot that you're assassins, where the night will be your killing parties," he smirked.

"But, if you want to come anytime, just call me. I will put you on my VIP customers," he said.

Namjoon suspected that there was something about Yuta that he didn't know yet. "What is your true motive coming here Yuta? Suddenly being nice to us like this?" he directly asked him.

"It's nothing, Mr Kim Namjoon. I told you that I came here just to see my boss. But, since we already know where she is, we will watch her from a far distance, including your small group." Namjoon didn't reply as he watched him open the front door.

"Let's just act that we're allies for a while." Yuta turned his head to the side at him. "Besides, I know that you hate gangsters and yakuza like us, right Kim Namjoon?"

Namjoon's eyes widened as he warily looked at the man.

Yuta gave an ominous wink and walked out of the house, the door slowly closed in front of Namjoon.

"Damn it," Namjoon cursed. He collapsed on the couch while he took a cigarette from the box. When he was about to light up the cigarette, Jackson strode in behind him.

"Does he know about it?" he asked. Namjoon took a deep inhale, and exhaled heavily, trying to keep his mind calm.

"If he knows our true identity, he can dig about our past too."

Yuta glanced at the car window, looking outside the scenery as he remained silent since he got in the car.

"How is she, Boss?" the driver asked him. Yuta replied with a sigh.

"She lost her memory."

"We really need her, Boss. Otherwise, our clan are not as strong as before."

"No, we don't have to. It's better if she is not involved this time. She's now living with a new family and a new identity. We will take them down without her."

"But, Boss Yuta. You know that we can't defeat them especially Lady Yoobin's step-brother without her help. Why don't we just call her team to kill him?"

"Don't you remember? Lady Yoobin hates liars. If she finds out about who she is, she will also kill her own teammates, who is now pretending to be her real family and we will be the one who gets blamed." The driver's mouth tightened, as he knew it was true.

"Now, just focus our sub-target. The restaurant, which will be our new hideout so we can watch Lady Yoobin and her team from getting caught by Yamaguci clan."

"I understand." The driver drove him away and headed back to the restaurant for tonight's preparation.

I'm sorry, Lady Yoobin...

But I will see you...soon...

Dami's eyes snapped open as she glanced up at the ceiling inside her room. She didn't know why she was breathing so hard and her body covered in sweat.

"What the fuck... was that?" She muttered and slowly got up from her bed. She rubbed her head, thinking about the weird dream that she had. "The voice... is different than before..."

She glanced at the clock beside her lamp, the time already reading past 8 p.m. as she thought that she had already slept for almost half a day today. She walked out of her room and went searching for her brother.

She went to Namjoon's bedroom but it seemed like he was not in his room or even in the house. That time, Yuju came into the house after she headed to the restaurant and buy some food for her friends as she saw Dami had awake.

"Ah Dami, you're already awake," said Yuju.

"Where's Namjoon oppa?" Dami asked.

"He and Jackson oppa went out to buy some ammo." Dami nodded and went to the kitchen as she opened the fridge.

"Are you hungry? I'm already bought some food for us to eat but do you want me to cook something for you?" Dami shook her head, refusing Yuju's offer as she grabbed two cans of beers from the fridge. After she closed the door, she went to the bookshelf and pushed the button leading to the secret door to the basement.

"I'll be in the basement if someone needs me," she told Yuju and went straight down to the basement. Yuju watched her going and felt like her friend was not in her usual bubbly personality that she was.

"Dami..." she muttered.

Meanwhile, in the basement, Dami was doing her training routine. She filled the bullet inside her gun and aimed at the target. She pulled the trigger and the bullet hit the abdomen. Dami cussed, frustrated as she missed her headshot. Pulling the trigger again, but all the targets that she aimed missed. Losing her patience as the gun ran out of bullets, and still, none managed to get past the neckline, she grabbed her katana and ran to the mannequin and swung, cutting it in half.

She didn't stop there and went to destroy the mannequin until it was butchered in pieces. Finally, she stopped, breathing heavily as sweat dripped down her body.

"What is wrong with me..." She muttered as she felt something not right about her. She looked at the broken mannequin as if only realizing she lost her temper on a target.

She put her katana back into the sheath and walked back to the weapon's place as she saw two empty cans of beer on the table. She must have drunk it before she began her training and she didn't even remember drinking it. She proceeded upstairs to the living area and went straight to the front door.

At that moment, Yuju was just coming out of the bathroom as she saw her friend going out.

"Dami, where are you--" She didn't even finish her question as Dami shut the door. Yuju quickly ran out of the house, trying to chase after Dami. Luckily, she managed to see her friend going across the road.

"Dami, wait!" Dami seemed to ignore Yuju as she walked away. Yuju ran towards her friend, trying to stop her.

Yuju managed to catch her up and stopped her as she gripped her friend's shoulder. Dami turned around after she felt someone trying to stop her. "Dami-"

Yuju's mouth clammed up, her mouth dried when she saw her friend's appearance had changed. If she believed in otherworldly powers, she desperately wanted to teleport away. As she saw Dami was in her 'devil' mode.

Yuju tried not to show her fear at her friend as she kept a calm demeanour and asked her, "D-Dami, where are you going?"

Dami shook her head, only realizing that Yuju was there with her. She looked around then, not remembering walking out of the house.

"What... is happening to me, Yuju?" Dami asked. Yuju unable to answer her question, as she was also not quite sure what happened to her friend, tread carefully.

"I know you're tired today. But, Namjoon told me to not leave you alone at night," Yuju replied. Dami looked at her friend, not sensing anything wrong with her answer.

"Come on, let's go back inside." Yuju guided Dami back to the house but Dami shook her head as she didn't want to.

"We're out of beer," she said. Yuju relented, following what her friend wanted. Granted, she still needed to babysit her. 'Just for tonight' she thought.

"Alright, let's go buy some beer and then we go back home, okay?" Dami nodded.

"But first..." Yuju handed Dami's black leather jacket to her. "You forgot to put your shirt on." Dami glanced down where she realized that she went out of the house with only her sports bra.

"That's why I felt cold," Dami mumbled and took her leather jacket from Yuju. Yuju chuckled, watching her friend putting the leather jacket on.

After Dami zipped it up, Yuju held her friend's hand. "Come on, let's go," she said.

"Okay..." And they went off to the convenience shop.

From a far distance, Yuta appeared where the trees provided ample cover as he watched them going down the road. He contemplated, upon seeing what was seen as Dami's 'devil' mode. Many feared it, from the day she was in North district until now, but he never got to see it when she became his boss.

"Even though you lost your memories, I still have to protect you no matter what, Lady Yoobin," he muttered and walked away from the neighbourhood.

End Of Chapter 11.
