Chapter II - Pied Piper
Y/N went into her bedroom, closing the door. Shucking her weapons, she turned on her phone and pressed contacts. She pressed 'call Magnus' and put it to her ear. After the phone rang twice, there was an answer. "Hello?"
"Hi. Is this Magnus?" Y/N asked. There was a sarcastic laugh. "No. It's Magnus." Y/N grinned. "What do you need shadowhunter?" asked Magnus with emphasis. "Help on a mission," she replied. Y/N heard rustling of papers and a stapler. After a few moments of silence, Y/N decided to speak up. "So-" Y/N began, but Magnus cut her off. "When and where?" Y/N thought for a moment. "I'll meet you at your little cave," she replies. A bark of laughter sounded through the phone.
"Alright. I'll see you then Y/N," Magnus said. "Buh-bye Maggie," she replied and could almost feel his eye roll before she hung up. She glanced at her white and black walled room, running her fingers over her bookshelf, dresser, and bed before walking into her closet. She chose a mission outfit consisting of all black. Y/N cinched on her quiver and katanas. She stole her bow off of the dresser in the corner and casted one last look at her room. Y/N ran down the hallways before skidding to a halt. Her breath hitched in her throat as she stared at the person before her.
"Alec?!" she screeched. Alec covered his ears pulling his bloodied arms around his knees. "What happened?" Y/N asked pulling her stele from her hip pocket. She ran it over his iratze on his neck. "D- Demon," he muttered. "In the Institute?" she asked confused. Alec gave her a nod and groaned, probably feeling the warm seep over his wounds. Y/N grabbed her phone and pressed her emergency call button for Magnus. "Hello?" he answered. "There's a demon in the Institute. It got Alec," she said. "On my way!" he yelled through the phone. She hung up after hearing the dial tone before turning back to Alec. Y/N ran the stele over his rune again.
He blinked against the pain. "Y/N?" he croaked out. "What?" she asked softly, grazing the stele over her strength rune. "How do you s'pose the demon got in?" Y/N let out a long sigh and stuck her stele in her pocket. "Could be a Eidolon I guess. Most likely can transform," she replied. Alec nods and put a hand on his forehead. "I think so. Are you sure an iratze is going to help?" he asks. Y/N rolled her eyes. "No. It'll probably kill you." He croaked out a laugh and gave her a smile. Y/N pulled her stele out of her pocket again and once more ran it over his iratze then his strength rune. Putting it back in her pocket she stood and opened the Institute doors in hearing a knock.
Magnus smiled his own concerned grin and peeked over her shoulder. "Is he doing any better?" he asked. Y/N shrugged but answered, "I don't believe a whole lot. Maybe a little. Needs a little magic I believe." Magnus nods and stepped over to Alec. "Let's move him to a different room. Could you help?" he asks me. Y/N nods and picked him up by herself and laughed at Magnus' surprised look. "Rune?" he questions. "Yep."
The two of them, Y/N carrying Alec, went to an empty room out of the many rooms in the Institute. She set Alec gently on the bed and sighed, putting her hands on her hips. Magnus held the door open for Y/N as she walked out of the room before it shut behind her. Sighing again she pressed her fingers to her temples thinking. How could a demon already be in the Institute? The only reason could be that the demon had some sort of human form. How had Alec not been able to see it? I hope he's okay, she thinks quietly. With one last longing look she cast over her shoulder, Y/N walked up the stairs towards her room.
