Although Roy was hungry, whatever this slop that the hospital was serving was not part of his mental menu. He pushed the tray away from him, trying not to vomit from the smell of nasty cafeteria food. If not for the pills he had taken beforehand, the cafeteria food at headquarters was enough to make him vomit then so he didn't really see the military hospital doing any better.

He was ready to get out of the hospital in general; he wasn't fond of them. Plus, he kept getting people peeking at him, the regressing colonel or something. He was surprised that this hadn't gotten to the top and the Fuhrer hadn't said something...

"Colonel Mustang?"

Roy looked up as a nurse stuck her head in and smiled. She walked in and stood at the foot of his bed.

"I'm happy to tell you that the doctor said that you could go home now. Do you have someone to come and get you or do I need to call for someone?"

Roy sighed. "I'll have to have someone come and get me. Do you have any clothes that are suitable for me?"

The nurse pointed to a set of folded clothes that was on the window sill.

"The Fullmetal Alchemist brought those for you. He said they should fit you whenever you leave."

Roy was a bit skeptical about what Edward may have brought him. The nurse left and Roy slipped out of the bed, misjudging how far away the floor was from him and ended up sprawled out on the floor. He cursed under his breath and wanted to cry at how short he was. He sighed and went over to the window sill, pulling the clothes down.

He took off the hospital clothes and stuck the new clothes on, feeling like an idiot. They were kid's clothes...

"Damn you, Fullmetal... These are your clothes!" he growled to the air.

He wanted nothing more than to burn the clothes off of him but it was all he had at the moment. He would make Riza buy him some different ones when he got back home.

The door opened and the nurse stuck her head back into the room.

"Oh, there you are. I was just going to tell you that I called Headquarters and they said they will be sending someone to come and get you if you wanted to wait out in the front."

"Okay, thanks... Has anything come back on my results?"

"No. He said that since you've gotten your strength back, you can leave. He will give you a call when the results come in. Though he said to make sure you're aware that you are not to get near that doctor or anything about him again, alright?"

"Yeah, yeah, I know..." he said, leaving the room.

As Roy waited for someone to come get him, he looked longingly at the ledge that was above him. He wanted to sit down but he didn't want to do it on the stairs and get in everyone's way and so the elevated flower beds above him with the ledges would be just great... if he could get up there. When no one was looking, he decided to try and run and jump to see if he could grab the ledge and get onto it. He failed miserably and he clenched his scuffed fists angrily.

"I hate being little!" he growled.

"Aw, what's wrong little guy?"

Roy turned around and saw a very nice looking woman looking at him curiously. Even though it hurt his pride even more, he decided to act the innocent and get onto that ledge.

"I'm waiting for my bwother but I want to see him so I wanted to get on that wedge but I'm too wittle." He said, scuffing his foot for emphasis.

The lady smiled and picked him up quickly and set him on the ledge.

"There, how is that?"

"Thank you so much! You're a nice person."

"You're very welcome. Will your brother be here soon?"

"Yeah, he'll be along."

"Alright then."

She left and Roy laughed at himself. He was happy to know that he could still maneuver women into doing things for him.

After what seemed like an hour of waiting, someone finally came to get him.

"Hey, Colonel." The familiar voice said to him.

He looked up and frowned at Edward as he walked up the stairs, his jacket off for once and bare tank top showing, his automail arm out for all to see.

"What the hell took you so long?" Roy snarled.

Edward looked around and put his finger on his lips.

"Not so loud, Colonel. What kind of kid are you?"

"One that is not really a kid. And what's with these clothes you brought me? Why do I look like a tourist?"

"They're my clothes from when I was a kid." Edward said with a small frown.

"Are you sure you didn't just grab them out of a drawer at home?"

"Who you calling so short you can't tell if he's grown up or not in the last ten years, huh?" he growled, grabbing Roy's shirt by the collar.

"You're not being a good sibling, Fullmetal." He said with a smirk.

Edward looked around at those who were looking at him and then leaned on the ledge, sighing.

"It sucks being me." Roy said, hanging his head.

"Aw, cheer up, Colonel. They'll find the antidote and get you back to normal."

"But what if they don't? What if I have to go through puberty again? What if I have to experience everything all over again?"

"Then you have the rare chance at a second life. It'll be an odd one, but it's a new start."

"Everything I love will be gone before I can make use of it." Roy growled, crossing his arms. "What would you know? You've always been short so it's not like you would understand how I feel?"

"Says the guy who is regressing every time we turn around." Edward snarled at the snippy colonel. "It was your fault this time for being impatient."

Roy nodded. "I guess so..."

"Well, I was sent by Riza to come here. None of the cars were available so that's why it took so long; I had to walk."

"And we're... walking?"

"Yup. So come on."

Odd as it was, Edward picked Roy up and set him on the ground. They then began going down the stairs.

With Roy in tow, it was longer that it was the first time because Roy was shorter than him, which meant shorter stride, and he also seemed to mosey a lot, which Edward found odd.

"Colonel?" He looked back at him. "You alright?"

"My head is killing me, that's all."

"It seems to do that a lot."

Roy nodded and seemed to sway, catching himself and shaking his head. Edward frowned in concern.

"Don't worry, Fullmetal, I'm fine..."

"You're not fine. During this whole ordeal I've learned that when you say you're okay, you're not okay. Here, let me just carry you."

"No! Dammit, how degrading can you make this? You don't know what it's like to be in a situation like this! Why can't you just make me feel normal?"

"I'm doing everything that I can, Colonel, but even kids... er, adults have problems. You look like you may pass out. I'm offering to carry you so that you don't just pass out all of a sudden."

Roy was going to decline the offer again when he felt a sharp spike of pain go through his eyes. He hissed, bending over and covering his eyes.

"Okay... Okay, I'll take you up on your offer."

Edward nodded and bent down, letting Roy get on his back. He positioned him good and stood up, repositioning Roy. Edward cool feel heat radiating off of Roy's body and he knew that things were anything but okay.

"Colonel?"

"Yeah?"

"I just wanted to let you know that... that joke you made some time ago, about diapers..."

"It was a joke."

"I don't think it will be and, since we're by ourselves, I'll just say that if it comes to that, I'll do it for you."

"What brought this on?" he said, laying his head on Edward's shoulder.

"You getting so young and all. I have a feeling that the worst is going to come but I won't give up on you. If I have to change you, then I will but... but I won't give up hope that you'll get back to normal. I won't like it –I hated helping my mom with Al- but I'd do it."

"Why?"

"Because you're my friend and you're my superior."

Roy smiled a little.

"Thank you, Fullmetal."
