ELEVEN. i'll always remember you
ALEXA HAD finally settled on a new theme for her makeup brand. Something that the audience that could relate to, something that was wholesome, something that meant everything to Alexa.
Throwback.
She settled on the color scheme and the names and now, all she had to do was take some photos to represent them.
The problem was, she had nothing to show the meaning of the "throwback". Alexa was lucky to even have a phone when she was 13. It definitely wasn't a PearPhone, but it was phone that called.
And because of that, Freddie, Carly, and Spencer decided to help her recreate some of the throwback memories for her shoot in just a couple of days.
"All right, who's ready to make some memories?!" Spencer shouted into the megaphone.
"Do we really need to recreate the moment my mom put Cloudblock on me?" Freddie asked.
"Yes, we do, Fredward." Spencer smiled, dressed as Ms. Benson, "Pretty gross, huh?"
"Say cheese." Alexa smiled.
Soon enough, Alexa and Freddie found themselves at Shay What with a Groovy Smoothie sign hung up.
Alexa had been placing random items that she had brought from home and a song began playing as she did so.
She turned and saw Freddie looking her way.
"What?" She chuckled.
"Did you ever go to a school dance?"
"No." She answered, "I didn't have a fancy enough dress for that."
"Would you like to... you know, take a photo? For a fake memory."
"Sure... fake memory."
Alexa set the last of her items down before making her way towards him.
She gave him a small smile before Freddie rested her hands on her waist and she rested hers around his neck.
"You know what I just realized?" Freddie asked softly.
"What?"
"There's no one here to take a picture."
Alexa smiled, "It's okay. I think this is just fine."
THE NEXT day, Alexa found herself in her office, looking over some of the photos that would be going up on her website, Instagram, and various news sites that care enough about how much money she would make.
She heard the door opened and she looked behind the monitor and saw Freddie entering.
"Hey." She smiled.
"Hey. Still looking over the photos?" He asked.
She nodded, resting her chin on the palm of her hand as she continued to scroll down the line of photos.
A small smile was soon placed on her face as she gestured for Freddie to come forward.
He stepped over and saw the pictures that were bright on her screen.
It was one of the last photos the two of them took before Alexa went off to a different college. It was the week they had that "one night in college" that they never really talked about.
It was in line with a current photo of them that they had recently taken. Alexa wearing a matte red lipstick from her line called "AF" (Alexa and Freddie) with a bright smile on her face and Freddie's cheek pressed against hers as he looked over at her.
Freddie smile drooped down and he stepped away from the computer.
"...And it's cute that we remade it without realizing it." Alexa smiled.
She finally looked up from the computer and over at Freddie. She furrowed her brows at his expression.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"We broke up that week."
Alexa looked back over at the monitor and back over at the computer.
"Do you not want me to use the photo?" She asked.
Freddie stayed silent for a moment before speaking, "I wanna know why we broke up that week."
Alexa stepped away from the computer and towards Freddie.
She sighed, "I thought things changing."
"Changing?" He asked, "We couldn't have just talked about it? That was probably one of the worst nights of my life and it all happened because things were changing?"
"Freddie... it's so much bigger than change, okay? Something that you'll never understand."
He was growing angry and Alexa could see that. And soon enough she would boil over. She would admit to something that she had said to him ever and that alone could make or break their entire relationship.
"You couldn't just talk to me about it? You expect me to believe that our entire relationship ended because things were changing?"
"They were changing for me, Freddie!" She shouted, "I have never, not once met someone like you and I was scared. For my entire life I had to work for everything that I wanted. From my webshow to you. I had to work for it and I finally had it. I had everything wanted. That night in college... I realized I was falling in love with you and I was scared. You were always in love Carly. You knew what love was. I didn't."
A longing pause hung over them. Neither said a word and the air around them became thick.
"I've never had in my life that showed love to each other." Alexa continued, "Never had my parents, Kendall and Spencer were always dating new people. And if I never showed interest in you... I think you'd still be in love with Carly. So, I let you go. And if that makes you angry... I want you to leave."
Freddie nodded. It didn't matter if he left . If he stayed she would only continue to belittle herself. If he left... he would leave.
And so, he left.
THE NEXT day, Alexa made her way over to Spencer's apartment. He was supposed to print off the photos from her shoot so she could send them off to her publicist in California.
She knocked on the door and waited for the sound of his voice.
She wore red dress with white sneakers. She had an online meeting after she made her way to the lobby to make sure her mail was sent.
Spencer finally opened the door and gave a small smile down at Alexa.
"Hey, did you print off my photos?"
Spencer gestured for her to come inside and she did, her hands clasped together.
"I printed them off just like you asked." He smiled, "They're upstairs."
She nodded, making her way upstairs and into the studio.
She paused in her walk when she saw Freddie standing close by in front of an arch of sorts with various pictures of them lining that said arch.
Freddie held his hands together and gave the girl a small smile.
"What is this?" Alexa asked softly.
"I didn't realize how many photos we had until I looked them up in the Cloud." He smiled, "And there was a photo of us from when we first started our shows. I remembered that you called me a nerd."
"I called you a nerd because if you were a loser, that I hated you."
"And only you only called me a loser once and that was the day I broke your heart. The day I told you that Carly and we're dating. You were the one who told me that she was in love with what I did for her. Carly never loved in the way I wanted, but you did."
"I'm never really wrong." Alexa muttered, taking steps forward to look at the pictures that changed across the monitors on the arch.
She sighed and turned towards Freddie, her eyes brimming with tears as she finally looked at him.
"When Sam told the entire internet that I had never kissed a girl, you went out of your way to tell everyone that you had never kissed anyone." Freddie continued, "You were my first kiss. You are a girl I really love and care for."
Freddie stepped forward, taking Alexa's hands, giving them a small squeeze.
"I really like you, Alexa." He spoke softly, "And, if you're ready, I am too."
Alexa squeezed Freddie's hands in return, looking down at her shoes before looking up at him once more.
"If we do this. I can't lose you if it doesn't work out. Not again." She said, her voice trembling.
Freddie's gaze softened, his hand reaching up to gently cup her face. His touch was tender, his eyes filled with a determination to ease her fears.
""I promise, Alexa. No matter what happens, I will never let you go. It's you and I. It always has been." Freddie whispered.
With a shared understanding, Alexa released a breath she didn't realize she was holding. She nodded, a mixture of trust and vulnerability shining in her eyes.
He soon let go of her cheeks, his fingertips trailing down to rest against the curve of her waist. Alexa's hands found their way to the back of his neck, her fingers gently tangling in his hair. The electricity between them was palpable as they leaned in, their lips drawing closer.
Time seemed to slow as their lips finally met, a cascade of emotions surging through them both. The kiss was a delicate blend of longing and the rekindling of a love that had never truly faded.
They broke the kiss, their foreheads resting gently against each other's, their breaths mingling in the intimate space between them. Their eyes met, a mixture of awe and love shining brightly.
"I missed that." She smiled, "We should do it again."
"In five, four..."
"You're an absolute nerd." She smiled, pressing her lips against his once more.
Alexa's hands instinctively found their way to Freddie's face, her fingertips lightly grazing his cheek as she deepened the kiss. Freddie's arms wrapped around her, pulling her closer, their bodies pressing against each other in an embrace.
And God, did it feel good to be back. Back as boyfriend and girlfriend.
