Happy Reading ❤️

Avneets's POV

“Look at all these stuff here. Make sure it's safely transported to the hotel” Dadi said giving us instructions and left a while later.

Jannat started lifting up the boxes but I stopped her.

“Jaan, you don't have to do all these, leave it” I said taking away the box from her hands.

“So? Don't tell me you are gonna lift them up? Gosh! Your Siddharth will kill me” she said dramatically.

“No dumbass. We don't have to do all this, I've called some helpers, leave it to them” I said chuckling and she sighed.

“You've booked the buses right?” she asked in a accusing tone

“Of course I have” I replied.

“Tell me, how many hours will it take to reach Udaipur?” I asked curiously.

“Dont tell me you haven't researched about the timing and stuff” Jannat said giving me an unbelievable look.

“Um...i...maybe..” I said scratching my head nervously.

“Wow. But anyways, I think it'll take three-four hours..?” she guessed.

“No way. Three to four hours is too short. I don't think we'll reach that soon...” I said calculating some figures in my mind.

“Wait maybe I'm wrong, let me search it up on the net” she said thinking and fished out her mobile phone.

“Oh it doesn't take three-four hours...” she said gulping.

“Knew it! What's the exact time?” I asked doing my victory dance as my random guess came true.

“9 hours” she said smirking.

“Hmm.... that's... that's.... interesting” I said stopping the dance mid-way.

“It's going to be one hell of a ride ” Jannat said when her phone pinged and she looked at the text and looked away blushing.

“Ohhho Jijuuuuuuuu” I teased and she just ran away laughing.

Now let's get to work huh

“Avneet! Come here!” Came dadi's voice from the hallway and I sighed before walking up to her.

“Yes Mam!” I smiled politely.

“Do you have SML disorder?” she asked.

“Huh? What's SML?” I asked in confusion.

“Short-term memory loss” she explained in disbelief.

“No- no mam! I don't” I replied back feeling offended.

“So? How many times have I told you to fix the lighting of this hallway? You must be having an idea Siddharth and Abhi are huge names in the industry and their colleagues and friends leave no chance to take pictures with them. Fix this awful lighting right away!” She exclaimed.

Well, I don't remember her complaining about the lighting to me even once before? Why did no one tell me this pregnancy thing leads to memory loss as well!

“Back to earth Miss Sharma! Here's the stair, buckle up and fix the lighting asap” She said eyeing the ladder that was kept resting to the wall.

No way, am I going to climb that...

A picture of her falling down the ladder came to her mind and she shuddered at the thought.

“Mam, I'll go and get one of the helpers, they'll do this” I said nervously but her pointed look stopped me from moving away.

“I don't think that's needed honey. They are already booked and busy in loading the luggage and important boxes in the vans. And moreover the height is moderate, not too much. You should be able to do this” She insisted.

“But Mam, I might fall and” I said in a small voice but she cut me off

Gosh! Stop testing my patience old woman!

“God! Youngsters these days! Beta, when I was your age, I used to jump around and do all the physical chores of our house. And you say you might fall? I'm here to balance the ladder, come on now” she said further and I was not sure what excuse I can make right now.

“Mam! For Hell's sake! I already told you I don't want to do this, why are you pushing this matter further? There are other people who can do this but no! You're too stubborn” I semi-shouted losing my cool.

Her wide-eyed gaze in return made me realise that I just shouted at her. Realisation dawned on me and I cursed myself for this stupidity.

Shouldn't have behaved with your boss/ your soon to be grandmother in law in this way! Now she's going to kick me and Jannat out of this house!
Well done you idiot!

“Did you just yell at me? Is this the 'great service' your boss Mr. Ghosh was talking about? I don't think we can afford such disrespectful employees to plan and execute our sons weddings” She gave me a tight smile and took the stairs and made her way towards her room.

“What in the actual hell, did you do now?” Jannat hissed coming to my side, probably after hearing all the commotion.

“Jannat I messed up big time! I... I don't know, maybe she'll end our contract, we'll have to go back to USA!
What about me and Siddharth?” I told her about what blunder I just created and she sat down shaking her head.

“Why are you sitting down? Do something” I said trying to pull her up.

“I just don't know what to say. And you stop worrying first of all. Most probably she'll forget about this as a first mistake. Relax” Jannat said smiling.

“Hope what you're saying is true” I heaved a sigh.

Soon it was time for them to leave for Udaipur on their bus journey.

“Are you sure, you've kept everything?” Dadi asked Jannat, Avneet and Aayan.

“Yeah Mam, everything” I answered confidently.

“I forgave you for your little act this afternoon, considering you're young and Siddharth's friend. Keep in mind, that should be your first and last mistake.” She said in a serious tone and I nodded.

“Thank you rabba!” I slumped back on the sofa in relief.

“What are you thanking rabba for?” I turned around to find Vaishnavi Di standing on the entrance with her mom and dad.

“Hello Uncle, hello aunty! Hello Di” I said welcoming them inside.

“Hello beta, it's been long since we saw you” Mahesh uncle said giving me a side hug.

“I know right! Btw, this is my best friend Jannat and her brother Aayan. We are all incharge of the weddings” I introduced both of them.

“Beta, I remember you and Siddharth used to like each other back then? What's the reason behind this sudden drastic change?” Sarita aunty asked softly and I looked at Vaishnavi Di, pleading her to save me from this awkward question.

“Mom! Come on stop asking such questions. It's time to leave now. Let's go we'll be late” She dragged them out.

Where the hell are you Siddharth?

“Missing me sweetheart?” I jumped back at the sudden voice and collided with a something strong.

“Siddharth! Gosh, you'll be the death of me” I smacked him softly on the shoulder.

“I know babygirl! Every girl has the same reaction when they look at me” He replied cockily and I smacked him again. Only this time, it wasn't soft.

“Ouch! Jeez I was kidding” He said caressing his arm.

“Siddharth...yaar” I rested myself on his chest and he dropped a kiss on my forehead.

“What's wrong Avneet? You sound tensed” He asked softly with concern and I melted at his tone.

“It's...its just been a long day. I cant wait for us to reach Udaipur and just sprawl on the bed, and get my beauty sleep” I mumbled in his chest and he chuckled before wrapping his arms around my waist.

“Don't worry, we'll be there soon” He said caressing my hairs.

Huh, 9 hours is the new soon I guess.

“It's eight already! Come on everyone we'll be late” Vibha mumma shouted and we rushed outside.

“Where's the bus?” Ratna Mami asked as we all were standing in the porch.

“It should've been here, I think I'll have to call him now” I mumbled taking out my phone from the handbag when a loud honking voice reached our ears.

It's finally here! Wait.... this is not the bus I booked? Bluemoon Travels? Didn't I book Red Bus? Siyappa!

“What are y'all staring at? Climb in one by one” Sid said guesturing towards the buses.

“Wait, this isn't the bus we-” Jannat spoke up but Abhi Bhai silenced her with a glare.

One by one, all of us were seated in the...umm...I don't think we can call it a bus actually. It was a two storey bus for God's sake!

“Avneet, good job. I approved the budget for a simple seater bus. But you were able to book a double-decker in the same price is commendable!” Dadi said and I simply nodded.

“Really Miss Sharma, great job I must say” Sidd said with a slight smirk and all I wanted at that moment was to wipe that smirk off his face.

“What's on the upper storey?” Dadi asked trying to get a glimpse from the staircase, but couldn't see anything as it was covered with a curtain.

Well...I don't know that too gurl, I don't even know who booked this bus.

“It's the same as it is here. Same thing. Seats that's all” Siddharth answered on my behalf.

“How do you know that?” She asked him suspiciously and I had a huge urge to roll my eyes.

Panchayat! Panchayat! Panchayat!
Chapli aurat.

“Actually, both of us, had a look at the bus beforehand, that's why” Abhi Bhai replied and she moved to her seats.

Soon everyone was settled down. The closest family members were on this bus, the others followed behind.

Dadiji, Vibha, Ratna, Mahesh, Sarita and the other elders were seated on the front seats.

Whereas the youngsters, Abhishek, Siddharth, Jannat, Aayan, Faisu, Avneet, Vaishnavi, Reem, Bhavesh, Ashnoor, Sumedh, Anushka, Rishabh and Roshni settled down on the back seats.

“Siddharth, I think there's some misunderstanding. We didn't book this bus” Jannat voiced out her worry

“Yes, she's right. I've been wanting to tell you ever since, but you're not ready to listen” I said supporting her.

“Relax, both of you. Siddharth booked it.” Faisu revealed and they looked at him with a questioning look.

“Why? See, I'm already informing you we as in our company won't pay for this. Whatever the budget was, we made the bookings accordingly. Now, whatever extra expenses are made we can't do anything about it.” Jannat said.

“Shutup Jannat. Let's go upstairs.” Siddharth said holding my wrist and led me upstairs carefully.

Siddharth's POV

I led her upstairs followed by Jannat, Rishabh, Roshni, Vaishnav Bhabhi and Abhi Bhai.

“Oh My -” She was shocked.

“You did this for us?” She continued after regaining her composure.

It was cozily set, with three beds placed adjacent to each other.

“Yes baby. It's my responsibility to look out for you, and make sure you are comfortable. Not just you but Vaishnavi Di as well” I told her, wrapping my arms around her waist from behind.

“We love you so much!” She turned around and hugged me.

“We?” I asked confused.

“Maddo! Mumma and the baby both love you!” She explained with a chuckle and I could feel my heart warming.

Daddy's princesses.’

‘Could be a baby boy as well.’

‘No! A girl it will be. That's for sure.’

“And three of us love you too! I'm sure you'll be the best chachu ever” Vaishu Di joined our hug and I could feel tears forming in my eyes.

“I love you Di, and of course I love my munchkins too” I said with the biggest smile possible and I could feel Abhi bhai seething in jealousy.

“Well, no one loves me I guess” He said with a pout which lead to Di punching him in the ribs before engulfing him in a hug.

“Jannat I love you” Faisu said kissing her forehead and she smiled.

“Thank you”

“You are supposed to say ‘I love you too’ what kind of manners is this?” He complained with a scowl.

“No thanks, I'm not in the mood”

“Jannat yaar!”

“Okay okay, I was just pulling your leg. I love you too” She laughed out loud and gave him a quick peck on his lips.

Whereas Roshni and Rishabh stood there awkwardly looking at all the mushy-mushy romance taking place.

Wait till you guys start doing this too. The time is not for away’ I smirked mentally.

“Now, as it's a long journey. Both of you can rest here. Health can't be compromised especially in this condition” Roshni said and they nodded.

“Let's go downs as of now” Rishabh said and we all descended downstairs.

It was an hour since they departed and everyone was getting bored.

“Yaar this is so boring bhaiya” Anushka whined.

“Let's play something pleasee” Ashnoor requested and I agreed.

“What should we play? Any ideas Rosh?” I looked over at her only to see her face pale and before I could ask what's wrong, she ran to the door of the bus and asked the driver to stop by. She literally jumped out of the bus and threw up in the nearby bush.

“Roshni? Are you okay?” Rishabh asked as soon as she came back. His tone was normal but just a look at his face and you'll see how genuinely worried he was.

“Not really.” She said warily and slumped down on the seat.

“Omg!!!! Rosho you're pregnant too??Good news pe good newsss!” Jannat whisper shouted.

“Oh God shut up! I haven't even-” She stopped midway realising what she was going to say and looked down to hide her blush.

“You haven't even done what di?” Anushka asked and Reem hit her at the back of the head.

“Ofcourse idiot. She's talking about intercourse. That's how babies are made” Reem explained as a matter of fact.

“Reem yaar!” Roshni exclaimed, embarassed.

“Di, are you allergic to something or?” Sumedh asked.

“Umm...I sort of forgot this. I feel pukish everytime I travel through bus. It's been years since the last time so it just slipped out of my head.” She said nervously.

Ohh.... We have so many complicated cases on the bus. Let us reach safely and in one-piece lord.

That's all for now.

Precap-

“Dadi is already suspicious looking at our condition”

“Avneet you fuc*ed up real bad this time, the consequences might be dire...”

“Where the hell is Siddharth, when I actually need him the most!”

Stay tuned for the upcoming chapter.
