Siddharth's POV

I shook Avneet as soon as we reached home.

"Wake up Avu, we've reached" I said softly.

"No please"she said snuggling more into her, I mean my jacket.

"Avneet, I would have carried you in but you know I can't because of Dadiji" I said.

"Siddharth I don't even have the energy to get up anymore. Leave me in the car, I'll come home tomorrow morning" she said in her sleepy voice.

"Avneet please, you know I can't do that" I pleaded.

"Siddharth yaar! I said I can't even walk! My legs hurt so much. Can't you lift me up? " She said irritated.

"Okay relax. Come" I said lifting her up.

I just hope Dadi doesn't see us.

Everyone was having dinner...and their attention shifted to me as I entered.

"What the hell is happening Siddharth?" Dadi said getting up from her chair and simultaneously everyone stood up.

Shit... I'm doomed.

"Dadi... actually..." I said searching for words.

"What happened to her? Is she okay?" Abhi Bhai asked rushing up to us.

"Oh yeah, she fainted on the way so I carried her in" I said and Dadi came near us.

"But what was she doing with you in the first place?" She asked suspiciously.

"Dadi for god's sake! That is not important now, Siddharth take her to the room, I'll call a doctor immediately" Abhishek Bhai said looking at Dadi with disbelief.

I took her to the room and laid her on the bed.

"Siddharth you couldn't take care of her for once?" Rishabh said panicking.

"Rishabh calm dow-" before I could complete my words Jannat burst in.

"What Rishabh ha?! He's completely right, you can't even take care of her for one day Sid!" She said angrily.

"Jannat listen-" and this time Abhishek Bhai interrupted me.

"Shut up! What if something happens to my niece or nephew? I'll literally kill you Sid, mind my words" he said entering the room.

Maa and Dadi also entered the room at that time so I couldn't tell them that Avneet was just asleep.

I went near her and slightly tapped her face to wake her up but she didn't wake up. I tried again but she didn't budge and that's when I started panicking

Did she really faint? Wtf

"Avneet wake up" I whispered but this time too there was no response.

Before I could contemplate anything, she opened her eyes for a millisecond and winked at me.

'Thank God' I sighed in relief.

"Here, pour some water on her, maybe she'll gain consciousness?" Maa said hurriedly and handed me a glass of water but before I could sprinkle it, she opened her eyes.

"What am I doing here?" She said holding her head and acting confused.

"Are you okay Avneetay?" Bhai said sitting next to her on the bed.

"Yeah I guess" she said uncertainly.

"What happened in the first place?" Dadi asked.

"Actually I had some work today and when I was returning home, I fell unconscious.....maybe because I didn't eat anything since the morning" she informed innocently.

"Okay, take care" after saying this, she left.

"Avneet beta, I'll bring you a glass of juice immediately" Maa said before leaving the room.

"Avneet why didn't you have anything throughout the day?" Rishabh asked her angrily.

"No Rishabh that can't be. Siddharth himself made her pancakes and chocolate frappe before they went on the date" Jannat laughed.

"Oh God! You guys are dumb. I didn't faint, I was just sleeping and all this was just an excuse"she clarified and dropped down on the bed again.

"I'm going to sleep. DND" she said and covered herself with the duvet.

"I'll inform the doctor not to come" Bhai said.

"OMGGG JANNNATT!" Avneet screamed and sat up straight.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Jannat said holding her hand over her chest.

"LOOK AT MY RINGG!" she said excitedly and I smiled at her childish antics.

"Oh God! This is soo beautiful" Jannat gushed.

"Congratulations Avneet, now you are officially one step away from becoming my Bhabhi aka sister in law" Bhai winked.

"Bhaii come on, stop with that bhabhi and all" she blushed.

"Finally my best friend is engaged!" Rishabh said hugging her.

"But I'm very upset" she said pouting.

"Why? You didn't like the arrangement? Is there something wrong with the ring?" I asked.

"Noo. Vaishnavi Di got an engagement party too. I didn't" she said and turned her face to the other side.

"Who said we aren't having an engagement party?" Reem said entering the room accompanied by Anu, Ashnoor, Bhavesh and Sumedh.

"How do you guys know Siddharth proposed me?" she asked suspiciously.

"We know everything Avu Di. Leave all that, let's have a partayyy! We have done all the arrangements on the terrace" Bhavesh said dragging her out of the bed.

"Yayy let's go partyy" she said getting up.

"Wait, aren't you sleepy and tired?" I asked.

"Correction. I was tired and sleepy but now I'm full of energy because I wanna partyyyy!" She said removing an outfit from the wardrobe.

"Now leave all of you. The chief guest of the party needs to change" she said practically kicking us out of the room.

"She's such a drama queen" I said chuckling.

"Siddharth Bhai, you'll have to tolerate her all your life" Sumedh said.

"Yeah Sid, there's still a chance to back off now" Jannat smirked.

"Nope. However she is, she is mine. No backing off now" I laughed.

Avneet's POV

I changed into another comfortable outfit and went to the terrace.

"Congratulations Avneeettt!" Everyone shouted and I couldn't stop smiling.

"Thank you so much" I said and noticed that Vaishnavi Di, Roshni and Faisu had arrived as well.

"You guys came as well" I said surprised.

"Of course, how could we miss such a special occasion?" Roshni said and hugged me.

"So? What are we gonna do?" I said settling down on the mattress which was arranged for everyone.

"Let's pop some champagne guys!" Vaishu Di said excitedly and Abhi Bhai glared at her.

"What? Why are you looking at me like this?" She scoffed

"If you don't know, some of the people present here, can't drink" he said faking a smile.

"Who?" She asked looking here and there.

"Our cousins are underage if you don't know" he smiled.

"So leave them na, we can drink at least, right Siddharth?" She said looking at him and Sid just looked at her with a pleading smile.

"Leave the champagne Di! The mocktails are more tasty in fact" I said jumping in the conversation and handed her a glass of juice.

"Ohhh yeah you are right" she said and smiled sheepishly.

"At last you got it" Bhai muttered under his breath.

"Are we gonna do something or just sit here?" Di said taking a sip.

"No we are doing something of course! Let's play a game" Anushka said.

"No yaar. Spare the games for the bus trip. Anyone has any other ideas?" Rosh asked.

"I got a beautiful idea" Faisu said winking at Jannat.

"Faisu! You've got too mischievous, the side effects of being with Jannat" I teased.

"Thanks for the compliment. As I was saying, let's make this night about the both of you couples." He suggested.

"Yeah but what exactly?" Rishi asked.

"So, you guys have to make promises to each other. Like, seven promises. Four for the guys and three for the girls." Jannat explained.

"This is not fair!" Reem argued.

"Completely unfair!" Anushka added.

"Totally" Ashnoor agreed.

"What?" Bhavesh asked in confusion.

"Why should boys have all the fun? We stand for equality, each of them should get four chances. That's what they wanna say" Roshni said.

"All that is fine, but don't we have this ritual during the wedding? What's the need for this?" Sumedh asked.

"You're right Sumedh but here they'll get the chance to make their own promise and they can openly say anything they want to." Faisu said.

"Yeah, because on the wedding day, Avu won't be able to speak anything as according to Dadi, Roshni will be under the veil" Rishabh added.

"Yeah then we should definitely do this" Sumedh said.

"So, we'll start from the senior couple. Give a huge round of applause for Abhishek Bhaiya and Vaishnavi Bhabhi!" Bhavesh cheered and everyone started hooting for them.

"Guys stop! Now it's your turn" Abhi Bhai said smacking him on the head.

"You don't get it. When one person is angry the other person should stay calm and try to make them realize their problem or try to make them happy again. If both of them will get angry then how will the relationship work out? One has to put their ego aside. And that's also the time when you prove that you want things to be right and things to work out between you. It's matter of efforts" she said gazing at the sky and Rishabh kept staring at her all the time.
