Siddharth's POV

"Siddharth, do you remember what I told you about my parents?" She asked.

"Yeah, you said they moved to the US when you were 13 right?" I said utterly confused.

"I lied Sid.....they didn't move to the US. I'm so sorry" she said avoiding my eyes.

"What do you mean Avu?" I said taking her hand in mine.

"Whatever I'm going to tell you.... Please forgive me" she said tearing up.

"What's the matter please tell me Avneet" I said getting scared now.

A/n : This has no reference to real life and I'm sorry if I offend anyone. It's just for the story purpose :)

"That day... when I came home from school.... Our housekeeper informed me that...that my parents...my mom dad passed away in an accident.... I lost everything that day Siddharth. I was expecting to come home to my parents. That they'll show me the gifts they brought from Rajasthan. But..but instead I arrived home to the news of their death... They died Siddharth" she said crying.

"Avneet.....how.....all of this happened and you never told me...why Avneet why?" I said angry and heartbroken at the same time.

"I lied! I lied because I... I didn't want to be called an orphan. I lied because somewhere it made me feel good. When I used to say that my parents moved to the US, it somehow gave me this.....this false hope that they are alive. That maybe someday when I come home from school, they'll be sitting in the living room. Maybe they'll just come back. I couldn't accept the fact that they were gone. One day they were right here hugging me and the next day.......they are just gone....gone forever. I was a kid Siddharth! I couldn't believe it" she said sobbing and without thinking twice I hugged her tight which led her into crying even more violently.

"I'm so sorry Avneet. I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of that. I can't even imagine all the pain you suffered. But I promise you, from now on I will keep you safe. I won't let any sadness come your way." I said rubbing her back.

"I love you Siddharth. I love you so much" she said wiping her tears on my t-shirt.

"Hey! My t-shirt is not a tissue" I said and she chuckled.

"You know Siddharth, I had to sleep in my room all alone everyday. And that housekeeper lady used to switch off the lights when I went to sleep. So, whenever I used to wake up in the middle of the night I got scared. She was very bad. And once I asked her to sleep with me but she straight away denied and said I trouble her a lot" she said playing with my 'S' locket.

"Indeed Avu. She was really bad. But now don't worry. I'll be there with you every night. So whenever you get nightmares, I'll hug you so tight that you'll forget all about them" I said caressing her hair.

"Promise?" She asked like a child and I fell in love with her all over again.

"Promise Avu" I said kissing her palm.

"But what if you start getting irritated by me? Just like the housekeeper?" She asked staring into my eyes.

I placed my palms on her cheeks and gently placed my lips on hers.

"Tell me now, do you really think I'll let you go away from me?" I asked and she shook her head blushing.

"I love you Siddharth" she said resting her head on my chest.

"I love you more Avneet" I whispered in her ears.

"Siddharth I'll go to my room now. If Dadi saw us like this then we'll be dead" she said slowly getting out from my embrace but I gently pushed her down again.

"But just now you were requesting me to accompany you tonight? What's with the sudden change?" I asked in confusion.

"I..I just don't want to cause us any more trouble" she said fidgeting with my locket again.

"Seriously? Shut up and sleep now. I'll drop you to your room early in the morning" I said sternly.

"But-"

"Oh yeah! You can't sleep now" I said remembering something.

"Yeah I know" she said disappointed.

"What? I was talking about your medicine. You can't sleep without having them" I said and she made a disgusted face.

"Eww. They taste so bad Sid" she said and quickly tried to hide under the duvet but I pulled her up.

"I know you don't like having meds so I have a deal. Have medicines and then I'll bring you hot-chocolate." I said and her face brightened up instantly.

"Okay okay. I will sign the deal" she said grinning.

"Okay. I'll bring you a glass of water and hot-chocolate. Wait patiently till then and don't dare to get out of the bed" I ordered and left for the kitchen.

Avneet's POV

I must've done something very special in my past life that I have Siddharth by my side. What would I've done without him....

As soon as he left I hid my face in his pillow to stop myself from blushing. I could smell his cologne from the pillow and it brought me so much comfort. I picked it up and hugged it tightly, imagining it to be Siddharth.

Just as I was about to kiss the pillow, Siddharth came back.

"What's going on?" He asked eyeing the pillow suspiciously.

"Nothing. I mean your pillow is so fluffy and comfortable. And boom! Now it's mine" I said giggling.

"Avu! That's my favourite pillow" he said and snatched it away from me.

"Haww! You can't even give me your pillow?" I asked shocked.

"Okay! Here's another deal. Either you  get this hot-chocolate or this pillow" he said.

"Siddharth that's not fair" I said pouting.

"Every thing is fair in love and war" he said with his signature smirk.

"Alright then. I'll have the pillow" I said sadly.

Only if I could've got both..

"Okay, as you wish. Now, have your medicines" he said sitting next to me and handing me the pills.

I had them as quickly as I could and then gulped down the water.

"Eww" I said and slipped into the blankets with the pillow close to my chest so that I stop thinking about the delicacy kept in front of me.

I am talking about hot-chocolate okay? Not something else.

"Alright!  I give up. Get up and have this" he said and I jumped out immediately.

"Thank you, thank you so much Sid. I love you" I said kissing him on the cheek and picking up the mug from the bedside.

"Slowly Avneet. It's not gonna go anywhere" he said chuckling.

"Sid, you know today Faisu was asking me something" I said while sipping the drink.

"What was he asking?" He asked.

"He was asking about how he should propose a girl, I mean Jannat of course. Just imagine how happy Jannat will be when Faisu get's down to his knees and proposes her. I'm so happy for her" I said getting excited.

"Oh really? That's amazing! We are getting another couple in our friends circle" he said smiling.

"Yeah right. I've asked him to record the proposal so that I can see Janu's reaction" I said yawning.

"If you have asked him to do it then he'll do it without fail. Now time to sleep. It's already two in the night" he said taking the empty mug from my hands and helped me to lie down.

I slept peacefully for the first time in years, with my arms around Sid and his around mine. And in that moment I forgot about the pillow lying next to me.

Who needs a pillow when the love of your life is next to you himself?

Siddharth's POV

We were sitting on the dining table having breakfast together.

"Avneet, why are you looking so tired?" Abhi Bhai asked and I looked at her face and agreed to him.

"Last night, I went to the airport to pick up the guests. So maybe that's why" she said giving a tired smile.

When the clock struck 5 in the morning, I had to drop her off at her her and Jannat's room. It was so difficult because she refused to let go off me in her sleep. Then after some help from Jannat, she left my hand.

"So you should've slept for a few more hours then. Why did you get up so early?" Bhai said scolding Avneet.

"I told her the same" Jannat scoffed.

"You don't even get started now Jaan. You came back at four in the morning yourself" Bhai reminded her.

"She just went to the airport, it's not a big deal. It's her job afterall" Dadi said and I barely had any energy to listen to her anymore.

"I know it's her job Dadiji but please don't forget that Avneet is my childhood bestfriend and Jaan is my sister." I said as calmly as I could.

"But that doesn't change the fact they are our employees at this time period" she retorted.

"Yeah it doesn't" I mumbled under my breath.

"Avneet, Jannat are you girls done with your breakfast?" I asked.

"I'm done. Where are we going?" Avneet said excited.

"I just need a few more minutes. If we are going somewhere then I can hurry" she said rushing with her food.

"Calm down. We aren't going anywhere. Avneet go back to your room and rest for a few hours. Anyways there's no work as of now" I said.

"Arey but I thought..." she said hopefully but couldn't complete as I picked her up in my arms and started climbing the stairs to her room.

"Jannat once you are done, you too get some sleep. Or do you want me to pick you up too" I said and she smirked.

"Why would you do that? What's Faisu for?" she said and everyone on the table started laughing.

"Siddharth Dadi will see us" Avneet said trying to get down.

"For your information, Dadi already finished her food and went to her room" I said and she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Oye! Don't drop her down!" Abhi Bhai shouted from below and I chuckled.

"Never" I said looking in her eyes.

"Siddharth!" She whined as I placed her on the bed gently and I moved to the window to spread the curtains and darken the room a bit.

"What? You want me to sleep with you?" I asked innocently.

"Huh! You wish." She said looking away.

"Now go back to sleep and I'll wake you up on time. It's gonna be a long day" I said placing a kiss on her forehead.

"Long day? Why?" She asked narrowing her eyes.

"Just go to sleep. You'll know everything later" I said and she nodded.

Finally the day has come. I hope everything goes as planned. Now let me just go and sort out the arrangements.

"Siddharth" Jannat whispered coming inside the room.

"You remember everything right?" I asked her once again.

"Absolutely! I'll do my part as you've planned. Now go! Avneet will hear us" she whispered and I left the room just to bump with Vaishnavi Bhabhi.

"I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yes forget about that. The plan is on right?" She asked smiling and I nodded.

"Finally! All the best!" She said and hugged me.

"Thank you so much Bhabhi. I needed this" I said and hugged her back.

Just wait and watch Avneet Sharma...
