Penelope's POV
June 20th 1990

        ''Man I am tired ''I mumbled as I fell on my bed mattress  which was in the new house and  sighed deeply. Me and my parents and siblings  had arrived in Hanna and now were unpacking boxes in our new home that all of our lives in it. 

            Our new house had two stories and was almost the same size as our  old one except our new house rooms were wider and backyard was bigger also  our new house was in a good neigborhood which was good because  we would be safe .

         I had only slept two hours the previous nights and I was exhausted  as hell due to my anxiety and my brothers screaming blody murder due to their bloated stomachs  . I was not happy about the move at all because I had to leave everything behind which made me miserable due to fact I would have to restart everything again.

         But one thing was good about move and that was that I left my ex Rick who turned out was a serial cheater which was the final nail in our  so -called relationship coffin and it gave me excuse to dump him and do me for bit  .

I laid on mattress and snored as  my sister walked up to me  smacked my butt playfuly making me lift my head and look at her all messed up which made her chuckle.

''Woman I am trying to sleep here back off''I mumbled and she tilted her head smiling and said  ''After we settle in our rooms how about we explore our new hometown and  see what good venues are here and also find the school you will attend  you know do fun stuff before dindin because I know you hurting but let me show this move is a good thing ''.

I sighed and said '''Fine'' , she smiled and went to unpack. I ploped up and decided to go upstairs to explore it and see which room I could take and make it my room.

The second floor of house was something ripped out from Hallmark  movie about love or family-it was very neat and tidy . There was a huge bathroom and doors to five rooms and one office like room which most likely will become mom's and dad's office. 

I walked around and saw each room until I saw one room that  pulled me in and was almost saying ''Penelope this is your room  come in dont be shy''.

The room was almost same as my old one -it was facing backyard and house next to it. It had huge windows and one of windows that was facing neigbors house had wide window sill which was perfect for me since I was drawing a lot and loved to sit on sill when I do also the room had a closet and room for my huge bed and table.

''This is my room''I mumbled smiling  as I looked around, then Rowdy rushed in and ploped on ground happy as if telling ''You mean our room'', I leaned down and scratched  behind his ear saying ''Our room bubba '' when my dad walked in and said smiling ''I see you have  found your room hun ''.

I nodded and said ''Yes indeed daddy by the way I am sorry I lashed out few days ago''.

 He hugged me tightly and said ''Its okay sweetie I know this is rough but You'll see this will be great in the end it will be great for all of us''.
I nodded and said ''I hope now lets go unpack '' and he nodded in agreement smiling and we dashed dowstairs with Rowdy following us  moments later.

As we unpacked and were putting things in places where they should be I heard the knock on a door .

''I got it''Ryleigh yelled and I speared her in sofa and said ''My job'' and I went to door and asked ''Who is it''. A familiar voice replied ''Me pappap''-it was my dad's  father also known as my awesome badass grandfather who made  awesome food.


  I smiled and let him in hugging him tightly. My dad was a younger version of my grandfather   - besides being related they both loved the nature , both had hazel eyes and both were quite tall also they had a same sense of humor among many other things.

 ''Hey princesa''My grandfather murmured and cuddled me and then Ryleigh came to us and hugged  our grandfather as well ''Hey poppop''. ''Hey my other princesa'' he mumbled smiling and then my dad came and said ''Hey dad '' and he and my grandfather hugged each other .


Then  my dad looked at me and my sister and murmured   ''Nel Ryleigh since uncle Jon and uncle Martin is coming over to help  how about you go explore the town and get comics and see where Nel will attend school and same goes for You Ryleigh but be back at eight  because its dinner time ''

I then looked at my dad and asked ''You sure we can go and explore you really don't need our help?''

My dad then smiled and said ''Go have fun guys see the town''  and mom added  ''We got it girls go have fun''. 

Me and Ryleigh hugged our mom and dad as well as our grandpa and  I called Rowdy and leashed him and we  went outside . The weather was quite lovely-it was a bit windy but it was sunny as well which balanced the weather out making it enjoyable .

 Me and Ryleigh waved to our mom and dad and went to explore.

Our neigbourhood was very homey and welcoming to be honest -people were ether gardening or catching some sun , kids were riding on bikes and being kids and teens were also riding on bikes or walking dogs  or just playing ball.


  It was quite refreshing sight to see which made me think  that maybe this move is not a bad at all and even I might not make friends as I did in my old school me and my family will be in  good town.

''Ryleigh'' I said and she smiled and replied ''Yeah?''

''I realized something'' I murmured  as I walked Rowdy letting him explore by sniffing trees and grass as well as the pavement , she then looked at me and said ''And that is''

''This move is not that bad I mean we are in great town and we get fresh air plus people seem nice what not to like'' I said and I saw a smile bloom on her face and her face lit up like  castle in Disney Land.

''See I knew you would soften up and '' she pulled me close  and added ''Maybe you will find yourself a nice country boy here ''

I backed up and said '' No no no I dont think so pal I am still hurting'' 

Ryleigh then said ''Nel never say never after ending things with you know who you need a nice guy who loves you and treats you like queen Penelope I seen you grown into a beautful elegant girl who is forming into a smart beautful awesome woman show certain you know who that you are  hot,smart,cool woman who can get anyone she wants to''

My sister was right  I need to show my no-good ex that he is trash and I can get a guy who loves me for me and not my status.

I looked at her and said ''You are right now lets see if this town has a comic book store ?Also you need to do motivational speaking in future'', she then smiled and said ''Thats  more I like it'' and we continued to walk and do sight seeing until we walked to the comic book store which was simply called comic book store.

I was about to tie Rowdy 's leash around post when a man who was standing inside knocked on the window and said muffled''Bring the puppy in'' . My sister and I smiled at him and nodded saying ''Thanks'' and we three walked in.

As we walked in I nodiced a lot of comic book memorbilia all around the store and the  intoxicating scent of the comic books hitting my nose . 

Then I saw the man who I saw earlier up close. Man was quite slim and had greyish brown hair and green eyes, he had a scruff and scar bellow his left eye brow. He wore green shirt with Hulk on it and grey pants .

''Hello''I said nervously  and  held Rowdy up close and my sister waved .

He smiled at us and said ''Hello there welcome to my comic book store I am Fred the owner you are tourists yes?''

''Recently moved  here with our family ''I murmured'' I am Penelope this is my sister Ryleigh and our pupper Rowdy named after Rowdy Roddy Pipper''. He then smiled and said ''Welcome Penelope and Ryleigh and Rowdy to Hanna  hope you like it here now anything you are looking for?''

''Um some Archie comics''Ryleigh said and Fred smiled and nodded  asking as he was looking at me ''Perfect how about you Penelope?''

''Um Venom or Spider-man?'' I murmured and Frank said ''Excelent follow my daughter Trina she will help you Trina?'' 

Then a young girl around my age came from back. She  wore grey shirt and black pants , she had brown hair and blue eyes.

''Girls this is my daughter Trina , Trina these are Penelope and  Ryleigh they just moved here can you help them find Archie and Venom comics while I finish restocking the  shelfs'' Fred said and Trina quickly replied ''Sure dad '' and then she turned to us and said ''Follow me''.

Me and Ryleigh quickly followed Trina and as we did that I asked Trina ''Fave comic book series'', she then smiled and said ''Spider-man,Captain America and Venom how about you''

I flushed and said ''Same''

Her mouth then blossomed into a smile and she said ''What school you will attend'' and I said ''Well Central Alberta High School why''. She then smiled again and said ''Consider that you and your sis have  made the first friend here besides my dad and I am attending the same school as you we will be school mates''

My heart sang in glee and I felt someone hugged it lovingly . I smiled and said ''Awesome'' and Ryleigh added '' Thnak you'' and Trina nodded

 ''Anytime now here is Archie comic book section and here is Venom section if you need anything my sister and  I are behind the corner with her boyfriend who will also help''

''Great thank you''My sister and I said and Trina left and we began to check out comics. They were so beautiful and felt like home-they felt like safety shield.

I looked through them and enjoyed each part then I walked to Fred and asked ''We can purchase these'' and he nodded saying ''Of course '' and I smiled and said ''Excelent I will take two of these for start'' and I handed him one Spider -Man and  one Venom comic book and then Ryleigh did the same with two Archie comics .

I paid for both of us and Fred packed them up nicely and handed them to my sister and then Trina came out.

We parted and Fred added ''Come anytime'' and we nodded leaving the store and we quickly walked to place where my new school will be.

The school was a sand colour building that was enormous that had big windows and nice oval shaped door and it had a stadium and bleachers outside-it was a good looking building that was for sure. Did I mentioned that building had garden next to it as well which made buiding extra nice.

''Such a beautiful building''I murmured and Ryleigh nodded in agreement and said ''It looks very welcoming'', I nodded and said  ''Yup this move is not bad at all what time it is''

''Seven thirty we should go'' Ryleigh said . I took a deep breath of air and we went home.
