"Rise and shine ladies!"
The three were pulled from a peaceful sleep with the sound of Jordan shouting over a ringing bell. Sadie jolted to her feet, then crumbled when she found her legs hadn't woken yet. Brar fell off her bed and Scarlet jolted up, looking around in bewilderment, her hair wild and in her face. Jordan chuckled at the sight of their disheveled selves before he turned and left the room. "I use the pond to the west to bath! Better get to it kiddo! Scarlet, once you're done, meet me in the back!"
The three girls stared after him, before Sadie groaned and let her head fall back onto the floor. "Sweet Jesus, he's one of those mentors," she muttered.
At the pond, clothes were folded carefully on the edge of the pond. Sitting on top one of them was a flower crown. In the pond, the three girls had their section as they scrubbed at their bodies and hair with some soap and some colored liquid that smelled like fruit.
"How do you think they made this?" Sadie asked as she scrubbed at her hair. Scarlet was too focused on trying to scrub the entirety of her skin off from the spidee the other night, so Briar answered.
"They might've mixed a few things together. Don't berries exist in the newest update?"
"I have no clue... I wasn't keeping up on Minecraft news."
"Yeah, me neither."
Scarlet sighed. "Soap aside, what do you guys think about all this?" She asked, finally moving to her hair.
"About being sucked into Minecraft, running into the CaptainSparklez and being trained by him, or all of that in general?" Sadie asked. Briar snoeted while Scarlet rolled her eyes.
"Finding Jordan and being trained by him."
"I think we're pretty damn lucky. We could've taken refugee in someone else's house, someone whose not nearly as kind and understanding."
"But how do we know this isn't some trick?"
"I mean, if he wanted to kill us, he would've done it already. But he wouldn't be getting anything out of it."
"I guess so."
"You better hurry though, Scarlet," Briar said. "He said he was working on you first."
"Yeah, don't wanna keep the Captain waiting!" Scarlet rolled her eyes and ducked under the water to wash out the suds in her hair, then pulled herself out and got dressed.
"Alright, try not to get shot out here!" She claimed as she walked away. Sadie splashed water after her while Briar ducked under to wet her hair down, bubbles drifting up to the surface.

Scarlet's hair was still wet from the pond when she came up back up to the house. She could see Jordan sitting on a fence, writing in a... Dear lord, was that a book and quill? Were quills the only thing they had to write with? She shuddered and hoped she wouldn't have to write anything soon. In front of Jordan was no doubt a makeshaft achery training station. The targets were block wool built in a small square, with a red square in the very cenger, all on a fence post. There were others of various heights, some further, others closer to where the starting line was. Jordan looked up as she approached and he smiled before he jumped down from the fence post. He shut the book and it disappeared into his inventory.
"There you are!" He clasped his hands behind his back. "How'd you sleep?"
"It was great until you came in with that damn bell," she grumbled, wringing out her hair. He snickered and moved to a chest close by.
"The sooner you start practicing, the sooner you'll get better, and the sooner you can save your friend. Now, lets try the bow, shall we? You've got a damn good aim and I'd like to see what we can do with that."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ugh!"
Jordan sighed as Scarlet missed the bullseye on the target, yet again. The girl was getting frustrated, he could tell. Her cheels were getting red ans when she put the arrow in, she was pulling the string so harshly he was worried it would snap. "Why don't we take a break?" He offered. They had been going at this for a couple of hours. He had put Sadie and Briar to work at his farm after teaching them how to break the wheat and plant the seeds. Briar seemed to be having a lot of fun with it. "You can go help Briar with the farm, and I can focus on Sadie-"
"No! I've got this!" She growled, nocking another arrow. Jordan sighed.
"Scarlet, lossen your grip! You're going to-!"
"Oh, what the hell do you know?!"
Jordan watched as she fired the arrow and missed the target completely. He furrowed his eyebrows as he watched closely, seeing a glimpse of what could be the problem. Scarlet grabbed anorher arrow, nocked it, pulled it back-
Snap!
Jordan sighed as the string snapped, just as he thought it would. Scarlet glared down at the bow before she hurled it down. "Damnit!" She shouted. Jordan shook his head.
"Alright. Come on." He grabbed her arm and pulled her into the house. She fought him the entire way, demanding they get her a new bow so she could go back to practicing, but he wasn't having it. Once they reached the house, he pushed her into a seat at the table in the main room downstairs. She stood up almost immediately afterwards as he walked to the furnace. "What the hell are you doing?!"
"I'm making you take a break," he answered, getting some stuff and placing in the furnace, then going to the crafting table.
"We don't have time for a break! My best friend is out there, and I need to get a good shot so I can go out there and find her!"
"And that's never going to happen if you don't learn to take a deep breath and calm down."
"I don't have time to calm down!"
"Yes, you do. I'm making it."
He turned back towards her and she was surprised to see he was carrying two mugs. He walked over and placed one in front of her, and when she looked down she saw that it was full of a dark brown liquid, and the steam was fluttering up into her face. Jordan sat down across from hee, sipping from his mug.
"What the hell is this?"
"Tea. Try it. It doesn't taste grow, despite how it looks."
"How is this tea? Minecraft doesn't have tea."
"A friend of mine messed with stuff and made it. Come on, try it."
She huffed and decided that if it got them back to the field, then she'd drink the damn thing. She picked the cup up and took a sip, then paused at the taste. Jordan watched her, taking another sip of his own. It tasted like raspberries, and now that she was paying attention, she saw it smelled like them anyway.
"Violet!"
Violet looked up. She was sitting crosslegged on the couch with one of Scarlet's cats curled up in her lap. She was holding her XBox controller as she moved her character around on Fable II, the game they both adored playing because of the fantastic co-op. She smiled as she saw Scarlet coming up, holding two steaming mugs. She put the controller aside after pausing the game and reached up, taking one of the mugs off her friend's hands.
"What is it?" She asked, looking down.
"Rasberry tea! You'll love it!" Violet smiled up at her before she took a sip, and she blinked. Scarlet's smile faltered.
"You don't like it?" She asked quietly, then relaxed when Violet laughed and took another sip.
"I love it!" She said and Scarlet laughed as she sat down beside her.
"Don't scare me like that!" She claimed, sipping her own tea. Violet snickered as she leaned into her side, sipping out of her own mug.
"Sorry, its just so much fun~"
Scarlet didn't realize she was crying until Jordan pressed a piece of cloth into her hand. He was standing beside her, mug of tea abandoned on his side, as he gently rubbed her shoulder. He atared down at her sadly as she wiped at her face with the cloth, trembling and sobbing as she gripped the mug so tightly Jordan was afraid that it would break too.
"I... I miss her so much...!" She sobbed.
"I know," he whispered. "I know."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay." Jordan rummaged through the chest. It was about half an hour later. She and Jordan had finished their tea as Scarlet had a nice cry, and now they were back out in the training course. "I think I know what your problem is." He made a noise of triumph as he found what he was looking for. "You're putting too much focus on the power in your bow instead of the actual aiming." He turned toward her and her eyes widened. In his hands was a crossbow. He smirked and placed it in her hands, turning her towards the target as he adjusted her hands.
"This came with the Pillage Update. You have to pull the bolt back, but it holds it for you." He showed her how to load the bolt before he helped her pull it back. "That way, you can focus on aiming." He stepped back and let her aim, tucking his hands into his pockets. Scarlet held her breath as she aimed, paused, then fired. She jumped at the sound it made, then her eyes widened as she saw where the bolt had landed. It had imbedded itself on the right line between the yellow wool and the black. Jordan laughed and clapped behind her.
"There we go! Try again! Practice makes perfect!"
Scarlet grinned and loaded the crossbow.
