choice two.

taehyung was about to enter the place, feeling the cold air reach the tips of his fingers as he was going to reach out for the door, but stopped when he was unable to hear footsteps following him from behind. turning around, he raised an eyebrow at yoongi, who just stood there, mouth opening slightly every now and then, as if he was...

"yoongi," taehyung called out, earning the blonde's attention who quickly looked towards taehyung with visibly wide eyes. "are you... are you talking to yourself?"

"no! no, i was just singing a song..." yoongi quickly replied, taking a few steps closer, before glancing behind him. "you go ahead, taehyung. i'll catch up."

taehyung gave him an odd stare and a short nod, before entering the nightclub, leaving yoongi alone on the sidewalk. sighing to himself, yoongi looked around. there weren't much people-- most of them weren't close to the venue, at least. scowling, he hit jeongguk on the back of the head, making the younger whine.

"what was that for!" he groaned in pain, rubbing the spot that yoongi'd hit.

"don't talk to me when taehyung's around. he'll think i'm crazy." yoongi told him, putting his hands in his his pockets.

at this point, he had already accepted the fact that this wasn't a dream. considering the fact that jeongguk pinched him several times on their way here (even a slap, that crazy bastard), it's quite obvious that this was indeed reality and that magic yellow flowers that could transform into cute boys do exist.

second chances exist, too, apparently. and with that, he decided to make the best out of this chance he'd gotten from jeongguk. in the past, he actually declined taehyung's invitation to the nightclub. but this time, jeongguk told him in advance that he wouldn't regret it because he would supposedly meet his ex sooner if he went. quite weird, because from yoongi's point of view, he was supposed to meet his ex at the cafe he worked at, a week from now.

but he assumes that perhaps it's best if he meets his ex in advance. well, soon to be boyfriend... or something along the lines of that.

jeongguk hummed. "do you want me to show up with you?"

yoongi frowned in response. "i didn't invite you."

jeongguk clutched his chest, falling back dramatically with his hand against his forehead. "ouch, hyung. i'm hurt!"

yoongi just rolled his eyes.

"you know," jeongguk glanced at the nightclub entrance. "you could always tell them that i'm a late invite. you know, a plus one."

yoongi looked at him for a while, then sighed.

— — —

yoongi chuckled as he slid into the booth, taking up the empty space next to taehyung. jeongguk followed after him, taking a seat next to yoongi and awkwardly looking at the ceiling. everyone was looking at him, just to be clear.

in retrospect, jeongguk seemed to be good when it came to socializing. but in reality, it was only when he interacted with one human. but not this much. there were six now, to be exact, including yoongi. it made him nervous-- he could already feel the heat rising up to his cheeks as he shyly tugged at the ends of his yellow sweater (he got it from yoongi).

he may be a magical yellow rose, but he still had the feelings of a human, especially now that he's in this physical form. apparently, his personality's centered on the word 'shy.'

"i hope you guys don't mind. i invited my friend over here," yoongi gestured towards jeongguk, who waved shyly at the other five without looking away from his lap,

"ah, it's fine!" a pinked haired guy spoke up with a grin. he looked over at jeongguk, which the latter felt so he looked up as well, making eye contact with the boy which he wished would end. "i'm seokjin, what's your name?" seokjin's voice sounded warm and inviting. if jeongguk wasn't mistaken, this was the mom in their squad. he couldn't recall too much of what happened in yoongi's original past.

"i-i'm jeongguk." jeongguk answered, voice loud enough for the group to hear.

taehyung scoffed. "i don't remember yoongi hyung mentioning you." he said in quite a bitter tone. jeongguk understands, though. he supposes it was some kind of protective layer that taehyung had towards his best friend, yoongi.

the guy next to taehyung, the one with orange hair, nudged the younger on the shoulder, before looking towards jeongguk with a welcoming smile. "hey! i'm hoseok." he introduced himself, and ah, yes, jeongguk remembers this fellow-- hoseok was yoongi's ex's best friend. hoseok was the man yoongi cheated with.

jeongguk kept his chill. "nice to meet you." he gave hoseok a smile and from the corner of his eye, he swore he felt yoongi visibly tense, so he placed an arm around yoongi's waist, letting the older relax a bit.

the silver haired man across from jeongguk seemed to notice the gesture, eyes trailing towards jeongguk as he took a sip from his drink. "you two seem close." he remarked.

"we aren't too close," jeongguk said, voice no longer shaky. "we... we just met recently."

"oh?" silver hair sat up straight, putting his drink down on the table and gave jeongguk a small smile. "i'm kim namjoon!" he shouted through the music, that was noticeably growing louder, along with the increase in amount of people in the area that started to dance to the music, not to mention sing along with it.

jeongguk just gave him a nod, before glancing at the boy in between seokjin and hoseok. he was quiet, had raven hair and was looking straight at jeongguk and looked like he was about to say something. but jeongguk caught up faster.

"you must be jimin."

jeongguk felt yoongi slightly flinch. jimin's eyes widened. "oh my gosh, how'd you know?" his voice was the same as always-- yoongi thought. and suddenly memories of jimin whispering sweet nothings to him in the morning when they both woke up came circling back into his head. all the 'i love you's that they shared. all the things they've done together when they were actually in a relationship, before yoongi messed up.

before he could spiral into a deeper void of currently repressed memories, jeongguk coughed with a small laugh, "sorry. i'm good at guessing people's names. you looked like a jimin. so, yeah." he made an excuse, tightening his grip on yoongi's waist, to which the latter didn't mind. at this point, yoongi was staring blankly at the table, at anywhere but jimin.

"that's cool!" hoseok remarked, pointing at taehyung. "what's his name?"

taehyung was visibly frowning at jeongguk. the latter assumed that taehyung was still salty about yoongi not telling him about his sudden plus one, but he shrugged it off and deadpanned, "kim taehyung."

taehyung felt a chill run down his spine. seokjin laughed and they all watched (jimin included, who was curiously staring at yoongi) as jeongguk stood up, gripping yoongi's arm. jeongguk laughed awkwardly, "would you excuse us for a moment." he told the others, and didn't wait for a response as he dragged yoongi towards some corner of the noisy nightclub, spewing 'excuse me's at the people in the way. once they were out of earshot, he pushed yoongi in front of him and gripped yoongi on the shoulders.

"get your shit together, yoongi!" he yelled at the older, who just sighed in frustration.

"i'm sorry, i--" yoongi groaned, "it's sort of hard to not give two shits in a situation, especially when your ex and the person you cheated with is at the exact table. and the weird thing is, they don't even fucking know that."

jeongguk sighed impatiently, crossing his arms and thinking. glancing back at their booth, he turned towards yoongi with a determined look. "hyung, i need you to not think of all that. focus, okay? you can do this. you want this second chance, right? you want to fix things with jimin, right?"

"yeah, i do, but..." yoongi ran his fingers through his now messy blonde hair, "i don't know what to expect. i've never taken this 'route' before." he said, putting air quotes on the word 'route.' he didn't know what to call it, but it was true-- he really didn't know what to expect.

"okay," jeongguk hummed. "i'm here for you, okay? i'll give you a heads up." he glanced more at the booth. "now, listen. when we come back, namjoon and seokjin will be gone. they're getting drinks for themselves and they'll end up staying at the bar for a while. when we sit down, taehyung will excuse himself to get drinks. and will glare at me. i'm sorry about that, by the way."

yoongi shrugged. "it's okay. taehyung's a jealous little shit."

jeongguk laughed. "anyway. that's when your first choice comes in. it's quite simple since it's your first one, but hey, i have faith that you're not stupid enough. whatever choice you choose, one person will end up leaving the booth afterwards. it's either hoseok or jimin who leaves. so, yeah."

yoongi let out a shaky breath. "seems simple enough, i suppose."

jeongguk grinned. "okay, we're back on track. now, let's go." he said, quickly dragging yoongi towards the booth. and sure enough, namjoon and seokjin were gone. going back to their seats, jeongguk smiled. "we're back! where's namjoon and seokjin?"

"getting drinks." taehyung gritted his teeth. "which is something i think i'll do, if you'll excuse me." he said, clearly sending a glare at jeongguk's way, before walking away from the booth, leaving the four alone.

glancing over to the two, yoongi noticed how hoseok and jimin made small talk. hoseok and jimin shared an apartment, just like taehyung and yoongi. you could say that hoseok and jimin were best friends-- and, oh. oh, there it goes. wild repressed memories. yep. looking back at it, it was really a bad move; cheating on jimin with the latter's own best friend.

past yoongi was a douche.

but now, present yoongi was here to fix it all.

jeongguk gave him a slight nudge on the arm, to which yoongi responded with a look that read, 'already?' and jeongguk just gave him a reassuring glance, before snapping his fingers under the desk. yoongi took notice of the floating words above hoseok and jimin's interacting figures, and wow. it actually was an easy first round.

TALK TO HOSEOK

OR

TALK TO JIMIN

yoongi almost laughed at the choices. he wasn't that stupid. but he remembers something jeongguk had told him before arriving at this place. every choice he makes, it may cause another choice later on. or even if he thought it was a good choice, it may still have some kind of negative effect.

as he was about to gather his doubts, he felt jeongguk lean closer next to him, lips near his ear. "i know what you're thinking," jeongguk whispered. "but no. i'm making it easier for you. either choice you pick this time, there's barely a negative effect. it's up to you if you turn awkward, causing them to leave." he leaned back.

yoongi looked at him with a thankful smile, before concentrating on the words and thinking of his choice.

TALK TO JIMIN

jeongguk mumbled, "good choice." before the words disappeared. before yoongi could ask what was about to happen, he watched hoseok stand from his seat, looking at the other three.

"i'll just go get a drink." hoseok grinned, before leaving the booth.

now, only the three were left. jeongguk let out an awkward cough, before standing up as well. yoongi's eyes widened, a glint in them frantically telling jeongguk to stay. but jeongguk just winked, "i'll go get a drink as well!" before scurrying away.

yoongi inwardly sighed before staring at his own lap.

this was his decision. his decision was to talk to jimin. this whole thing is his second chance. he mustn't mess up now, especially since it's too early to fuck up. gathering up the courage to actually look up, he took a deep breath and let his eyes meet with jimin's.

it wasn't surprising how he didn't choke or anything.

what was surprising, though, was the fact that jimin was staring right at him.

and when their gazes met in between, jimin noticed this and blushed, and decided to look down at his lap. now, this may or may not have given yoongi a boost on his ego. a smirk made its way up to his lips, though, as he opened his mouth to start a conversation.

"hey there, jimin." he greeted.

"um, hi," jimin greeted back, looking up from his lap and shyly at yoongi. it was like how yoongi remembered it-- all those looks jimin gave him. but the gazes he remembered well were more of loving ones, but he doesn't worry about that right now. he'll get those looks back in no time. "i didn't quite get your name..."

"yoongi. i'm yoongi."

jimin visibly relaxed. "nice to meet you, yoongi," he grinned. "so, what do you do for a living?"

"i make music." yoongi answered.

jimin's eyes lit up. "cool! you should make a song for me or something," his smile lessened as he chuckled, "i mean, uh, sorry. it's just that i dance and i sort of need someone to make me some music for my next project, sorry--"

"no, it's okay," yoongi waved his hand dismissively. "i'm sure you're a great dancer. and honestly, i'd love to compose a song for you. just let me see you dance someday." he smiled.

jimin, looking at him with an unsure expression at first, soon had a smile on his face. "um... thanks. in exchange for letting you see me dance, make sure to let me listen to the music you make, too."

yoongi gave jimin a nod. "of course."

for a few seconds, silence was between them. until jimin spoke up with a stiff voice, "so, uh, is jeongguk your boyfriend?"

"no!" yoongi yelled immediately, which slightly startled jimin. "sorry. um. no. he wasn't lying earlier, though. we did just meet recently."

"oh." jimin simply said, but yoongi swore he heard a bit of a relieved tone mixed in with jimin's nearly blank one. "oh. so, um, are you into guys, or--"

yoongi shrugged. "i swing both ways."

"cool." jimin had nothing else to say. "same."

things were getting awkward.

jimin pointed towards the bar. "i'll just go get a drink, yoongi hyung. you want anything?" he smiled.

well, fuck, yoongi thought but gave jimin a small smile nonetheless. "no, i'm fine. thanks, though."

jimin gave him once last glance before walking away, heading towards the bar. once yoongi couldn't see jimin due to the nightclub's crowd, he let out a huge sigh of relief and suddenly the feeling of worry's filling his veins.

and then he nearly shrieks when jeongguk appears in front of him, sitting right on the table.

"what the-- jeongguk, what are you--"

"remember? i can choose who can and can't see me. anyway, you did good!" jeongguk said, sitting next to yoongi and giving him a pat on the back. "by the way, hoseok's dancing or something. also, namjoon and seokjin will arrive in, like, a few seconds from now. taehyung's in the bathroom, if you're wondering. after your small chat with namjoon and seokjin, make sure to look out for that one dude who'll slip some drugs into jimin's drink when he's not looking." jeongguk took a deep breath, "and after that, your second choice will appear and--"

"wait, wait, wait," yoongi interrupted jeongguk, narrowing his eyes. "what did you say?"

jeongguk scratched the back of his head. "after all that, your second choi--"

"no, before that."

jeongguk let out a small 'ohh,' "well, there's this guy who'll slip in some drugs into jimin's drink."

yoongi turned around, looking towards the bar, and sure enough, a suspicious guy was sitting next to jimin. yoongi ran his face against his palm in frustration, before looking elsewhere. seokjin and namjoon were on their way here, both laughing with smiles on their faces.

yoongi turned towards jeongguk, who gave him a pitiful glance. "sorry. i don't control events. just predict them. and stuff."

yoongi groaned.

seokjin and namjoon sat down on their respective seats, seokjin giggling at some kind of compliment that namjoon had given him. they both turned towards yoongi, giving the latter a worried glance. yoongi looked quite paranoid. jeongguk, on the other hand, looked completely calm.

"hey, yoongi," seokjin called out, grabbing the blonde's attention. "you okay?"

"yeah. yeah," yoongi mumbled, glancing at the bar, heart racing as he took in the sight of jimin grabbing onto his drink. the guy must've slipped the drug in already. "hey, excuse me." yoongi gestured towards the bar, before hurriedly standing up and practically screaming at the people in the way, shoving some, even.

seokjin and namjoon had puzzled looks on their faces. meanwhile, jeongguk tried to lighten the mood with a crooked and awkward smile.

"so, are you guys dating?"

yoongi, on the other hand, pushed through the crowd. upon reaching the bar, he earned the stranger's attention through a low voice of, "hey." before his fist collided with the stranger's cheek, the latter stumbling out of his seat and immediately screaming profanities at yoongi.

jimin spun around on his seat, "yoongi? what are you--"

yoongi pointed accusingly at the stranger, "he slipped a drug into your drink."

the guy at the bar, overhearing the fuss, yelled towards the stranger, "hey, get out of here you bastard!" and so the stranger did, running towards the exit before the bartender could do anything else, like call the cops.

jimin looked between the drugged drink on the bar and at yoongi. "i-- jesus christ. thanks, yoongi." he blinked, "hey. i'm starting to feel a little dizzy--" jimin trailed off, body falling forward. luckily, yoongi dashed forward quick enough to catch him. behind them, yoongi could hear a few voices. turning around with his arms secured around jimin's waist, he saw seokjin, namjoon, hoseok and jeongguk standing there, worry and fear on their faces.

"is he okay?! what happened?" seokjin said, rushing to yoongi's side to examine jimin.

"he got drugged." yoongi answered, "hey, could you put his arms around my shoulders. he's getting heavy." and seokjin immediately complied.

"oh my god!" hoseok yelled in english. "where are they? where's that little bitch? who the hell drugged my best friend, i swear to--"

"hoseok, relax. they're probably gone." namjoon shrugged, crossing his arms. "okay, what are we gonna do now?"

yoongi turned towards jeongguk, who was looking at him with a knowing smile. yoongi inwardly sighed, ready for the next set of choices. he watched as jeongguk snapped his fingers, arms still at his side so the others wouldn't find it too weird.

TAKE HIM HOME

OR

LEAVE IT TO HOSEOK

yoongi couldn't help but roll his eyes.

TAKE HIM HOME

the words soon disappeared into thin air. yoongi turned towards jeongguk who shrugged, mouthing the words, "your choice."

"hey, i'll just take him home." yoongi told hoseok the others.

hoseok gave him an anxious look, "are you sure? i can just do it--"

"it's no big deal," yoongi told him nonchalantly. "i know where you live, don't worry." still having the knowledge from his original past had its perks. besides the fact that he knew where hoseok lived because that's where they had usually decided to meet up secretly, it was okay and quite helpful. which, i may add, is scandalous. jimin and hoseok live together and yoongi used to always meet hoseok whenever jimin was out of the apartment. to this, of course, yoongi was now guilty.

"creepy." namjoon remarked, and seokjin hit him, muttering a, "stop it."

"keys are in jimin's pocket." hoseok told him, receiving a 'thank you' from yoongi.

yoongi glanced at jeongguk, "oh, and jeongguk, tell taehyung--"

"--that you left to help jimin?" jeongguk continued for him.

yoongi smiled. "yeah."

jeongguk gave him a thumbs up. "can do," he said, before stepping towards yoongi and leaning in, "i'll meet you tomorrow morning. you have a choice by then." stepping back, he merely smiled.

yoongi nodded understandingly, before asking seokjin for some help so he could instead carry jimin on his back. after making sure jimin wouldn't fall back, he told his goodbyes to the four (jeongguk's goodbye being a temporary one), before walking out into the street to look for a cab.

once in the cab, yoongi decided that he was sort of getting the hang of this.

glancing at jimin, who was still passed out, he let out a small sigh.

in time, jimin. he thought, i'll fix my mistakes.
