Chapter 3

Dick looked over at the boys, face slowly paling, if Tim didn't know any better he'd think he was about to pass out. He couldn't blame him though Jason did just sound like a crazed maniac, and judging by how much these people talked about clones they'd definitely be a little more than untrusting.

Wally, now suddenly looking a little more serious, turned to face Dick accusingly, because who else would keep secrets as crazy as that? "Robin.. Explain." Dick had noticed his better posture and tense glare, and hell he wasn't the only one looking on in accusation; it looked like the whole team was against him.

"Dude I don't- I swear I was an only child like 5 seconds ago!"

Damian smirked when Grayson's voice squeaked in defense, he had to admit even he found this whole situation a little funny. Although as much as he hated to admit this whole thing was definitely a problem, Grayson was still back home in their dimension with father, completely clueless to the erratic situation they were in.

"Look I don't know who you guys are but last time I checked I didn't have any brothers." Now the confusion previously in his voice was gone and instead replaced with a bit of irritation. Today was supposed to be a simple stalk the bad guys get info, maybe beat them up then leave kind of day, but instead they were now having a very one-sided conversation with some kid in Robin cosplay, a drunkard, and.. a babysitter?

Ignoring how obviously irritated Dick was, Jason smirked over at Tim and Damian, and god did Tim hate the look in his eyes. Damian's eyes narrowed at Jason "Why are you smirking Todd?"

The man only shrugged in response, "I just think this whole thing is funny, I was worried we we're actually going to have a normal mission for once."

"Oh yeah cause that'd be so horrible" Tim sarcastically added.

While the boys were distracted Artemis turned to M'gann hoping the com was still up and she wasn't about to look bat shit crazy staring at the Martian in silence. "Megan, can you see if they're telling the truth?" she looked over her shoulder motioning towards the boys. M'gann frowned, "I can't do that, I might accidentally discover Robin's identity and Batman would-"

"Batman can't do anything M'gann, he's at the tower clueless to what's even happening" Dick cut her off, "besides I give you permission.. I would like to know if they're lying too."

Unluckily for the group that last sentence had been said out loud and caught the attention of the caped, well the two caped and one gun handling, crusaders. They definitely knew what the Martian was about to do if her powers were any similar to Martian Manhunters, and considering the similarities between them, they would be.

"Woah woah wait, you're wasting your time-" Tim was about to finish but he had to think about it, would it really affect anything if she did learn who they were? Sure this was another dimension but that didn't mean they don't exist in this world, well Damian definitely doesn't, maybe, but him and Jason? That would cause so many problems, Jason would never become Robin, he'd never- Tim would never have a reason to also become Robin. It was all just too risky and unpredictable, so thanks to Jason's reveal they had to come up with an excuse, quick too judging by the looks on his brothers faces as they came to the same conclusion as he did.

"So.. I maybe fucked up a bit"

"Yeah Todd just a bit" Damian scoffed.

"I mean come on Timmy what real harm would it do? It's not like we exist in every universe right-?"

"Jason, stop trying to save your ass, we're in so much trouble."

Damian mumbled something under his breath then looked over at the two boys, "They could probably help us anyway, tch these kids are most likely our only way home" and for once Tim agreed with the brat. However mind reading was a no go, they needed to change topics, distract them? Hopefully they figured something out fast before Damian maimed the Martian lady.

Tim sighed, "Go ahead read our minds" shrugging in defeat.

"Hey Hey! No don't listen to him that's like an invasion of privacy and shit" Jason countered, "What if she reads all those embarrassing moments you and super kid over there-"

Tim's face immediately flushed red, "What?! How'd you-!"

"Nothing gets past me lil bro"

"Drake despite being the detective you are you aren't exactly secretive yourself"

"Shut up you don't get to talk, don't act like you and Jon-"

"What me and Kent do is none of your business! I'll put your spleen back in and remove it myself if I have to Drake!"

Tim didn't doubt for a second Damian was being down right serious and ducked behind Jason, "Hey what the hell I'm not a shield!" He bellowed, also backing away from the angry assassin.

Artemis watched as this went on, "Okay I'm officially lost." The rest of the team could only mentally nod in agreement. Connor was definitely beyond confused at being called a 'super kid' and he was pretty sure he'd remember having any so called embarrassing moments with the raven haired boy. What in the world did that even imply?

"Demon spawn it is not the time to go rogue on us here and kill Timbo" Tim looked over at Jason nodding thankful, "He's the only one that can use his geek skills to help us get home." That earned Jason a kick in the leg.

"Tt whatever" Damian muttered smirking at Jason's pain, his smirk however didn't last long and he continued, "Grayson would be upset if I finished him off anyway." He tossed his katana sloppley away in its case and crossed his arms. Grayson, he really missed him right about now, this would usually be right about the time he'd make some stupid pun that no one would laugh at, not out loud anyway.

"Grayson?" Dick pondered looking surprised and Damian flinched in response. How the hell did he- there's no way these guys are telling the truth, dimension travel? Time travel? They were totally lunatics, he was starting to regret begging Batman to let him on the mission tonight. Damian however looked at Dick like a child getting told off by their parents, he hadn't meant to let that name slip out.

Jason, completely oblivious to the younger Dick's epiphany, laughed "Since when did you actually care about his opinion? Don't tell me you actually started liking DickieBird, hey wait how come you like him and not me?" He pouted ruffling Damian's hair as the kid blushed in embarrassment smacking his hand off his head. "Cut it out or I'll slice your face off!"

"DickieBird.. Grayson..Who the heck are you guys!?" Dick yelled, his response to the names caught on the team's attention again.

"Dude what's with all the nicknames I thought secret identities were supposed to be kept secret!" Wally almost sarcastically said, DickieBird huh? He should use that one on Robin sometime in the future.

Jason smiled at Wally but quickly became more sheepish "Uhh hey look kiddos as much as we'd want to continue playing young justice with you all, we actually got a serious problem, so uh replacement got any ideas on getting us home?"

"The hell are you asking me for?!"

"I don't know! You're nerdy and junk, don't you have experience with this stuff!?"

"First of all I'm not 'nerdy' I'm just smarter than you" Jason frowned offended, "Secondly I don't exactly control the universe!" Wait control? The device! That must be their ticket out of here, god he didn't want to admit it to Jason but he maybe just could control the universe or well that's a stretch more like control how to move between universes.

"Your squabbling isn't helping!" Damian yelled, annoyed.

Alright enough is enough, Kaldur finally woke up from being disoriented in all this mess and was ready to take the lead. "As Miss Martian said earlier my name is Kaldur" he took a quiet deep breath, "If you could just explain who you are we won't need to continue this hostility maybe we could help you with your problem, it seems you need it" he tried to keep his voice clam but there was still a passive aggressive undertone to it, and no one could blame him everyone was a little pissy after this mess.

Jason decided to play along, and Tim was already planning on coraperting, Damian looked too tired to complain anymore.

Dick watched as the man in the red helmet stepped up to Kaldur, matching his passive aggressive stance."Alright well I'm Red Hood," figures the guy would call himself something like that.

The other boy next to him who Kaldur had to say was the most mature out of the group despite not looking older then Wally, also spoke "Name's Red Robin." That wasn't exactly the name he was expecting the boy to say. Dick's eyes narrowed at the name's familiarity.

"Robin" was all the kid said, straight faced and all.

Artemis rolled her eyes and walked towards Damian aggressively poking the kids chest, "Enough with the games copycat, what's your real name kid?"

As much as Damian wanted to slice off the girl's hand right then and there he bit his tongue, continuing aggression as much as he hated to admit would get them nowhere. He clicked his tongue, "Tt Damian my name is Damian, happy?"

Jason pouted now that the fun was all over, "Just Damian what's your last name" the blonde continued. Okay maybe his fun wasn't over after all. "Wayne" Jason said, before Damian spouted some lie in retort. Tim mentally face palmed, they really needed to put a muzzle on Jason.

"Wayne- You're a Wayne?!" Dick's grunted in disbelief. Now his parents going off having random kids? No way, but Bruce? Now that was a little more believable, didn't explain why he didn't know the kid though.

"Tt Don't act so surprised Grayson" Damian, who had to be definelity beyond tired to not have punched Jason in the face for revealing such vital information, scoffed.

Artemis's eyes widened when she realized exactly what the little snot was saying to Robin, "Grayson!?" She shrieked, "God I should've I known, you were always so fucking weird around me at school!"

"Dude spoilers," Dick groaned.

"Wait, are you really from the future!?" Wally yelled trying to not act as excited as he was, and failing miserably. "What's the future like? Are there flying cars!? Do I get a girlfriend!? Boyfriend..?" He rambled getting up in Damian's face who looked on at the red head in disgust remembering an awful time he caught said redhead making out Grayson in the batcave. The team also pondered what the future was like if these boys really were in fact telling the truth.

"Slow down kid, we don't wanna spoil it too much, besides we don't even know if it really is your future or not" Jason stepped between the energetic speedster and his brother. Wally looked at him confused again, "What do you mean not our future?"

Tim caught onto his confusion "Well as much as we know we time traveled, I'm guessing we didn't exactly time travel in our universe."

"Dimensional time travel? That's so cool!" He screamed bumping into Artemis who grunted in disbelief.

Dick nodded at Wally, as cool as it sounded though the boys didn't have any proof that they did in fact do such a thing. "So how exactly would we be able to help you? Considering any of this is even true."

"Well you can start by hooking us up with a meeting with the Bats so we could explain this whole mess" Jason tried not to laugh thinking about what this version of Bruce could be like, judging by how far in the past they were he could totally be in his edgy phase still, not that he ever left it in the first place.

Tim realized just how crazy the situation they were in was, "He's going to kill us" He whispered before getting elbowed in his side. "He can't, it's against his stupid rules" Damian reminded him, though this didn't bring Tim any relief.

Kaldur was finally catching up with the situation and nodded at the request, "We will see what we can do, you'll come with us." Before Tim could ask where they were exactly going Kaldur nodded at Miss Martian who seemed to understand what he was asking, and the boys found themselves facing darkness and promptly passing out on the cold ground.

"Geez why couldn't you just do that earlier" Artemis whined, and honestly no one else disagreed.

-

Dick looked on at the boys in the other room, who were now passed out on top of some sturdy but rusty looking chairs. He never really saw himself as the type to want brothers; he was pretty content with being an only child. Still if they're telling the truth, who are their parents?

Bruce was probably their dad if he had to guess, why else would they be considered brothers? Who's the mom though.. Catwoman? No Bruce wouldn't.. well maybe he would.

Lost in his thoughts Dick didn't notice Jason and Tim quietly stirring awake.

Tim felt exhausted, maybe he was going through caffeine withdrawal. He started to sit up in the chair and looked next to him to see Jason doing the same. Now more awake he noticed how odd the room looked, it felt as if a police questioning room, in front of them was a big mirror (obviously double sided, even an idiot like Jason could figure that one out.)

"Man this place is a dump" Tim heard Jason mumble.

A voice on a speaker in the corner of the room spoke and the loud volume from the speaker was enough to jolt Damian half awake.

"The League has been contacted about your situation, excuse the poor hospitality we don't normally get guests" If Tim had to guess that was Aqualads voice or was it Kaldurs? He couldn't remember.

"Geez I wonder why" Jason sarcastically added.

Damian aggressively nodded in agreement, the League was on their way and here they were being treated like animals. "Great."

"Bats is gonna be with them right? He's kinda like the only one who could help." Although that wasn't a lie it wasn't entirely true, Tim was pretty sure anyone could help with the right information, but they needed Batman to help guide them, without him they were totally hopeless.

Aqualad didn't get a chance to respond to the question as he watched the man himself, Batman, walk past him into the room, he looked beyond tense and tired. Kaldur didn't blame him, everyone was tired today. Dick followed quickly behind him before Bruce could tell him off.

Wasting no time Bruce sat on the opposite side of the boys with Dick, getting a good look at them.

Jason could see the slight shock in Bruce's eyes as they landed on Damians costume. No matter how much Bruce tried to hide it or deny it his masking of emotions wasn't good, or maybe Jason just got better at guessing.

"Who are you?" Bruce asked, getting straight to the point. Tim fixed his posture when he heard how distressed Bruce sounded.

"Uhh.. well I'm Tony Stark, this is Bruce Banner and our little brother Loki." God Tim really needed to muzzle Jason. Dick rolled his eyes under the domino mask at the awful poor taste in joke, (which was ironic considering he's made far worse.)

Batman did not look pleased with that response at all and got up from his chair and walked closer towards the boys, attempting to appear more intimidating. It definitely worked cause now Jason shut his trap and looked to Tim for answers on what they should do next.

Tim sighed, let's just get this over with. "Okay so this is going to sound crazy, but we- we're your colleagues from the future." Tim decided to not mention the fact there were Bruce's sons; the man already looked like he was going to burst.

Bruce raised an eyebrow "Colleagues?"

Tim turned to Jason and Damian begging for help with this. "Yeah you know, like Robin," Jason shrugged.

Dicks eyes narrowed, "That's not exactly what you said at the docks."

God Jason hated tiny Grayson "Okay? Maybe we lied."

"The claims you made were a bit too passionate to be lies." Damian elbowed Jason in the side, for putting them in this awkward situation, who let out a grunt.

"I won't ask again, who are you?"

Tim was considering actually telling Bruce the truth, but so much could go wrong if he did, they already fucked up though and they might as well just spill it now rather than wait for more chaos in the future to fuel the fire.

"We- were your sons? From the future."

Bruce looked at the boys more closely and definitely looked skeptical. "Do you have any proof?"

They actually did have proof, Damian had that man's blood just running through his veins at this very moment, but revealing Damian's biological parents would reveal Talia and Tim didn't exactly know if that would be a bad thing or not. Luckily Jason beat him to it.

"Yeah the brat here is proof enough, as he would say— he's the -blood son-" Jason felt Damians aggressive glare on him as he spoke.

Now this surprised Bruce and he looked over at the other boy, eyes squinting as if trying to figure out his feature behind his green mask, to see if there's any resemblance between him and the boy.

Damian looked back at Bruce, glaring at him for even thinking Damian wasn't his son as if it was fault.

The group was interrupted by a loud voice behind the so-called mirror. "Woah woah he's this Batman's son?! Like his son? His real son?! No offense Robin." Dick face plamed as he stood up and walked towards the mirror, Jason watched as it moved around to reveal a window between their room and another, there behind it he saw various heros. Dicks team was there up front and center, Wally almost pressed up against the glass and his excitement was more then prominent. The leaguers stood in the back observing them more professionally then the younger heros, their stares made Jason shiver.

"Kid Flash!" Dick screeched in disapproval.

"Sorry sorry, I can't help it I'm just curious at heart" Wally whined sheepishly stepping away from the glass.

"Are you actually his son?" Damian looked over to see Clark staring into the room as well, just as curious as Wally, he nodded and crossed his arms leaning back into his chair as if he was trying to hide himself from all the sudden attention.

Bruce nodded and turned to Jason and Tim. "And you two?" he asked or more like demanded from Jasons perspective.

"Adopted, you don't exactly stop at one orphan."

Tim frowned at Jason's wording when he noticed Dicks small flinch. Bruce also looked surprised but nodded once again, in understanding.

"So he's Robin now?" Bruce asked, pointing to Damian's uniform. Damian bit his tongue to stop himself from complaining about not being asked the question himself but he refused to retaliate or cause trouble.

Tim answered this time, "Yes he is."

Wally looked distressed, as well as most of the young justice team. "Why? What happened to our Robin?"

Jason snorted, "Nothing happens to the kid don't worry, he just grew out of it, Damians not the only Robin after Grayson."

Bruce looked rather interested in that. "So it's like a mantle?" M'gann inquired.

Jason felt a headache coming on and in a bitter voice mumbled, "More like a curse." M'gann looked upset having heard what he mumbled, but she didn't push any further. Dick also looked mildly upset but shrugged it off, it'd be a problem for future him.

"So what exactly happened to Rob?" Wally asked, and Dick looked over at him annoyed for even asking something like that, because wasn't it obvious?

"Grayson moved on and became his own hero" Damian bluntly replied.

Artemis looked over to Damian, "Moved on? why?" she questioned.

Jason shrugged in response and Tim perked up a bit, "He did what he did, it's not our story to tell" he shifted in his seat attempting to get a better look at their surroundings now that the window was open and he could see outside.

"Didn't think he'd ever do something like that" Superboy added, which reminded Tim this might not even be just time travel this is a whole different dimension.

"He might not, we're not exactly from your future" Tim decided to come clean, better sooner than later anyways. There were so many things different here compared to where they came from, and it was not just the outfits, but Connor first of all, he wasn't like Tims Connor at all this one looked like he had a whole different story. Miss Martian wasn't a name he himself was familiar with either, Artemis didn't look like the one Jason often hung around either. There were many different things.

"Another dimension? So you not only time traveled but you're in a different reality?" Bruce said not exactly expecting any answers after those questions.

He continued to stare off at Damian and then turned to Jason and Tim, "You two were also once Robin yes?"

Jason looked a bit surprised but nodded, "Yeah Damian's the fourth." Bruce didn't quite understand why he'd ever need more Robins but if he had to guess, if Dick really did leave he probably couldn't cope with Gothams horrible conditions and dark agenda on his own. Batman needed a Robin after all, and it seems that place was filled in after Dick left.

"What are your names?" If he had to admit he was a little curious what his future or potentially future sons would be named.

"Depends Brucie, you want our code names or real names?" Jason taunted, he could see it now his Batman would've grinded his teeth together and growl at Jason for the nicknames but this Batman wasn't his Batman. Instead he watched as the man continued to look forward, no reaction to Jason's taunting. "Both" he replied.

The boys looked at one another and shrugged.

"Red Hood, but my real names Jason.." he took a few seconds debating whether he should say his real name or not and decided fuck it, they're already in to deep, "Jason Todd."

Tim smiled, "Red Robin, Tim Drake" he stated, quick and efficient.

"Damian Wayne" was all Damian said. Bruce almost flinched in hearing his last name.

"Cool names and all but shouldn't we discuss the elephant in the room" Canary said looking over to the boys referring to the unlucky situation they were in.

And thank god she did because Jason remembered the fact he still had that tiny shit of a box. "We might actually have a way back, we're just not exactly sure how it works.. yet" he pulled out the mechanic box, it didn't seem to be in bad condition but that doesn't mean it worked. They didn't even know how they set it off the first time or what variables affected that reaction, god Jason felt as if he sounded like Tim.

Bruce took the box from Jason's hands and observed it closely, hell even he looked confused. "We'll get a better look at this, John?" The Martian walked over as Bruce handed the box over to them.

"Before we go we'll take that blood sample, just to be sure" he mumbled and Damian perked up, the kid still looked so tired, which made Jason wonder if the trip through time affected him. He hoped not they didn't need any more problems.

After Bruce took out a syringe from god knows where he quickly took the sample from Damian and placed the tube away in his belt. "We're not going with you?" Tim asked, a little offended honestly, just when he finally got Bruce to stop treating him like a kid here he was doing it once again.

Batman shook his head, "No you are to remain here with the team, until we are absolutely sure you are telling the truth we cannot let you run free around the tower."

Tim guessed it made sense, but that doesn't mean it didn't make him feel any less like a child who just got told off. Jason scoffed at the distrust, "So what, we're gonna be babysat by young justice over here?"

Dick rolled his eyes, "Yeah you are."

"Stay put." was all Bruce said before just like that he was gone along with the rest of the league, the boys found themselves alone in the room with the younger version of their brother and his team outside.

"This is ridiculous," Damian muttered.
"Since when do we stay put?" Jason added. Tim rolled his eyes and groaned "God so help me if you two don't compley for once–"

Dick fake coughed for the boy's attention and they looked up at him, "Well.. you guys staying in this dump all day or what?" he smirked. Jason enthusiastically stood up in response, "Fuck yeah let's ditch this building."

"Not what I meant"

"Oh.. Fuck yeah let's ditch this room!" Tim grabbed Jason by his shoulder and aggressively pulled him out the room following behind Grayson. Damian also followed behind, if not a little slower then the others, he felt a bit sick but not in a fever or cold way, just.. sick, and he hated it. However he wasn't about to tell anyone this, that'd be too much trouble and he was too tired to put up with Tims fussing or Jasons stupid maternal instincts.

They were led to a living room area, on the other side they could see a kitchen and a long hall with different doors to what they assumed were the team's rooms.

"So.. what do you guys do for fun?" Wally asked as they settled in the living room, awkwardly standing around each other in silence.

"Fun?" Damian questioned. Tim shrugged, "I usually stay up all night reading cases or stuff."

"Sometimes I go out to sho- mildly harm bad people" Jason added on.

Connor looked on with disgust, and M'gann cleared her throat at the sudden proclamation so she wouldn't gasp.

Wally sighed, "Geez are all bats workaholics." Dick punched his arm, "Shut up" he grumbled.

Wally frowned for a few seconds before it looked as if a light bulb was above his head, "We should play a game!"

"We're not elementary school kids baywatch" Artemis caught Damian in her line of view, "Well not all of us." Jason grinned when he looked at Damian's face scrunched up in annoyance.

"Yeah we could play a game, right brat?" Oh no Tim thought, there was that look in his eyes again. Double oh no, Damian had the same exact look, oh god Jason was corrupting the brat how'd he manage to corrupt him more than he already was?!

Wally smiled in ignorance to what he just started and Tim looked on with worry, hopefully it'll just be a video game- no those always end up in physical fights.. maybe monopoly? Lord no what was he thinking that game absolutely ruins families. He just hoped it wouldn't be what he thought it would be, he was practically praying.

Please don't let it be hide and seek.
