CHAPTER 34
This chapter is dedicated to annabethchase916. Love you!
As Ginny dragged her feet towards the girl's dormitory, Lily's sobs became louder. Alice was trying to console her. Ginny opened the door slowly, only to find that Lily was an emotional mess.
Lily was on her bed, sobbing uncontrolably. Alice was trying to soothe her, but in vain, and Marlene was sitting on her own bed.
"Where were you?" Marlene asked abruptly. Ginny was disarmed by this sudden attack.
"I.... uh...." she tried to think of an answer. Truth wasn't the best option.
"You know, just forget about it!" Marlene said aggressively. "I know you were with the boys. What's wrong with you? You knew how Lily would feel now, but you don't care! You go on, just have fun with them, you don't have to come here just out of pity! Lily has us, she'll be fine!"
Ginny was shell-shocked by this sudden attack. Having fun? She certainly wasn't having fun! She just had a shouting match James because she cared about Lily!
"You don't know what you are talking about! I certainly wasn't having fun! If you didn't realise, I was trying to stop them...."
"Well you can't have tried too hard, otherwise your boyfriend Black should've listened to you!"
Ginny was shocked by this sudden accusation.
"He isn't my boyfriend! I just had a shouting match with James...."
"Aw, did Black ditch you for Potter? Did he get tired of his new girl?" Marlene said in a mocking tone.
Ginny's anger fared up. "You are pathetic! He was never my boyfriend, nor shall he ever be! He is just my friend!"
"Well look what YOUR friends did to MY friend today!" Marlene shot back.
"Shut up both of you!" Alice shouted between them. "Things are already bad enough without we quarreling between ourselves!"
Suddenly, the door opened and another sixth year girl, Mary McDonald came in.
"Lily," she began. "Snape is here to see you." She read Lily's face correctly and said, "I told him you didn't want to meet him but he is saying that he will sleep in the corridor if you don't talk to him."
"Let him sleep in the corridor then!" Said Alice. Lily wiped her eyes and stood up.
"It's okay, I'll go. Better be over and done with this rat's shit." She said. Lily stomped out of the room, her footsteps echoing in the stairs.
Alice glared at Ginny and Marlene. "Guys, I would appreciate it if you keep your personal differences aside for this time, for Lily."
"But look what they did to Lily! And she still supports them! That James Potter!" Marlene pointed an accusing finger at Ginny.
"I never supported them, incase you haven't noticed!" Ginny shouted. "I just put him into his right place!"
"Oh, am I supposed to believe that?" Marlene yelled.
"SHUT UP! DON'T MAKE THIS MORE MESSED UP THAN IT ALREADY IS!" Alice shouted. "Please?" She added more calmly. Ginny and Marlene glared at each other, but didn't shout more. Marlene took a book from the shelf and started to read. Ginny sat on her bed, lost in her own thought.
She had just realised something. From Alice's shouting. Her face had suddenly seemed very familiar to her. Like Ginny felt while seeing James. Something from her past. Alice's shouting face had suddenly triggered Ginny's memories.
"I can't believe I didn't figure it out earlier." Ginny muttered to herself angrily.
She had finally recognized Alice Prewett. The future Alice Longbottom. She had seen a similar face before. In Neville's face.
She remembered Neville shouting something similar to her when she had tried to argue with Alecto Carrow.
"Don't make this more messed up than it already is!" He had shouted from the other end of the detention chamber. Hearing the exact words from Alice, she had calculated the facts.
Ginny had seen Alice's face before. In St Mungo's. The face which now seemed so pretty.... had been morphed into something skeleton-like. Her eyes had been blank.
Ginny closed her eyes. She was experiencing too much overload for one day.
Ginny opened her eyes as Lily opened the door and entered. She looked like she had another cry before coming up. Four of them said nothing. Quietly, they went to bed. Ginny closed the curtains.
"Ginny?" Lily's voice came from her bed.
"Yes?" She answered.
"Thank you for convincing Potter to apologize to me. That was really nice of you."
"Did you forgive him?"
"No I didn't."
"Perfect. He doesn't deserve it yet."
"Still, it was nice of you to try. Good night Ginny."
"Good night."
With this, the girls dormitory became silent for the night. The silence occasionally broken by Lily's soft sobs. But nobody knew.... another girl was crying except Lily.
Silently, her tears flowed down and the pillow became wet; as he wished nothing more to be back to her own time, and to be with the people she really knew. To be with the person who understood her more than anyone else. To look into his emerald green eyes.
Like many other nights recently, Ginny longed to feel loved.
Atlast an update. I am sorry for the long wait, but you guys have to wait longer for the next update, I think. I rarely have time for Wattpad nowadays. If I don't reply to any of you, that is because I am really busy. Hope you liked the chapter though. Vote, comment and keep reading guys! :)
