KABANATA 11: TRUTH

"MOM..."i said as my tears still pouring from my eyes.

I saw her tears started to rolled down her cheeks as she reach for me and hug me tightly.

"My princess, oh my god, look at you..."sabi niya at pinasadahan ako ng tingin.

"Why? I mean how did you survive? Did daddy survive too?"i asked.

She slightly nodded.

"Come and sit, i will tell you everything."sabi niya.

"Maybe some other time tita, our son is waiting for us."sabi ni Grant.

"Oh my apo? Can i go to your penthouse too? I wanna see my grandson."sabi niya.

"Where's dad, mom?" I asked.

"He's in the bathroom, oh their he is."sabi niya sabay turo kay dad na papalapit na sa direksyon namin.

"Daddy..."parang batang sabi ko, pinagtitinginan na kami ng mga tao pero wala akong pake alam, i miss them so much akala ko talaga patay na sila.

Kaya pala walang maipakitang katawan ang mga coast guard sa amin.

Inilipat ko ang tinigin kay Grant.

"How about your parents, Grant did they survive?" I asked.

"They survive but because of the sudden crash of the plane na puruhan ang kabilang paa niya kaya naputol, si dad naman ay unti-unti na ring nakakarecover."sagot niya.

Lumapit siya sa akin at hinawakan ang kamay ko.

"Avi, we need to go before someone sees us."sabi niya.

Tumango ako at saka na kami nagtungo sa kotse niya.

Nang makasakay agad niya iyong pinaandar papunta sa hotel na pagmamay-ari.

Sa biyahe papunta doon tahimik lang kami pero rinig na rinig ko ang munting iyak ni mommy sa likod, yakap naman siya ni dad.

For the past 3 years they grow old, may puti na ang buhok ni dad while si mom ay nagsisimula nang magka wrinkles but she's still pretty.

Nang makarating sa penthouse, nagtaka ako kung bakit wala si Dylan sa sala at bukas ang kwarto niya.

Agad na napuno ng kaba ang dibdib ko saka ako nagmadaling nagtungo doon

"Dylan? Dylan?!"pasigaw na tawag ko.

Nakatali sa isang upuan si Dylan at may takip ang bibig, umiiyak ito pero hindi ko marinig dahil sa takip nito sa bibig.

Agad akong lumuhod at saka siya kinalagan at niyakap ng mahigpit.

"Mommmmy!"umiiyak na sabi niya.

Nag tungo rin sa gilid ko si Grant at nakakuyom na ang kamao.

"Mommy, they tried to hit me with a vase po! I'm so scared mommy i thought you will never come home, mommy i'm so scared."umiiyak na sabi niya.

Napaiyak na rin ako, hanggang sa napahagulgol.

Sinisisi ko ang sarili sa nangyari, i shouldn't have come after Grant, sana ay nabantayan ko si Dylan dito.

My eyes roam around and i saw a piece of paper, nasa kama niya ito.

Binitawan ko saglit si Dylan at binasa iyon.

'Security is mostly a superstition.'

I clenched my fist, if i ever know who did this to my son, i won't think twice to kill them.

She or He even used a quote just so they can scare us?

I stared at my son who's sobbing in the arms of my husband, while grant is slightly patting his back.

I turned my gaze to my parents.

"I wanna know the truth behind that incidents."i said.

"Hija, ipagpaliban mo muna, you look tired you shou-"

"No mom! I want know the truth! I want to know everything!" Pasigaw na sabi ko.

I can't control the anger that's rising inside me, they will pay for this, isa man siya or marami sila.

"Pero hija-"

"Just tell her the truth Avrielle."sabi ni dad

"Ikaw muna kay Dylan, I'll talk to my parents."sabi ko kay Grant, he nodded, kinarga nito si Dylan at inilapag sa kama nito.

Nagtungo kami sa sala, hindi na ako nagpaligoy ligoy pa at agad silang tinanong.

"Do you know who's behind this? Look what they have done to my child! What if ma traumatized siya ng dahil dun?"i said.

"We still don't know who's behind this, the plane crash 3 years ago, it was planned."simula ni dad.

"Buti nalang at may nakapagsabing babagsak ang eroplano, at naka pag vest na kami, they used the ditching para sa dagat maglanding ang eroplano, the pilot thought na mas magandang paraan iyon, pero mas maraming buhay ang nawala."kwento ni mom

"I think the person behind this is envious for the both of you, look kayo ang tinatarget nila they even drag Grant's parents para ano? para mas maging masaya sila at wala nang hahadlang sa kanila sa negosyo?" I said.

"Your dad has a lot of competitors, not only in the philippines but in the other countries too."sabi ni mom.

Parang may mali? Parang may kulang eh, o baka naman sa may hindi sila sinasabi sakin na hindi ko dapat malaman.

I looked at my dad, tinitigan ko siya sa mata.

"I think you have something in your mind dad, care telling us?" I said tiningnan niya ako.

he just took a deep breath and was silent for a moment before he answered.

"I was known for being a playboy."simula niya.

Tiningnan siya ni mom, looks like she already knows it,
ako nalang ang hindi.

"It was before i met your mom, i played a lot of girls before her, I didn't think of how they would feel, until I met this girl named Via." Sabi niya. "She was my girlfriend for 3 years, and she's your mother's best of friends."

Via? I never heard her name? Ngayon lang.

"She treated me well, and i love her for that, she was my first love, she was the one who changed me, not until that day comes." he took another deep breath before speaking again

"I throw a party at my house in a villa, nakakuha kasi ako ng scholarship abroad, all of my classmates were invited, and we drink all night until we passed out pinatulog ko sa guestroom yung iba kong mga kaibigan kasama ang mom mo, Via went home before the party even started, your mom was drunk too that she entered the wrong room."

"May nangyari sa amin ng mom mo, both of us we're naked nang biglang pumasok si Via sa kwarto ko."

"To make it shorter, nang malaman ng parents ko na buntis ako they went mad at was about to file a case against your father but then i kneeled infront of them, i tell them na pananagutan ako ng dad mo, he did, he broke up with my best friend and choose to marry me."sabi ni mom, nanginginig ang labi niya habang sinasabi iyon.

I stared at them blanky, i never acted at them in this way but for now i needed to, para makuha ko ang sagot sa katangunan sa isip ko.

"So your marriage is like a marriage inconvenience?" I said.

"So if walang nangyari sainyo, wala sana ako at yung bestfriend sana ni mom ang makakatuluyan mo dad?"i asked dad but he remained silent.

"Kuha ko na, kaya pala madaming galit kay dad kasi playboy siya tama? they even included us in their anger because of you!" I said.

Well technically yes, i love my parents so much, i miss them too pero hindi ko lang maatim na hindi magalit kasi nga dahil sa nangyari kay Dylan.

"What if isa pala sa mga ex mo ay maimpluwensiya? What if she'll use her powers for revenge?" I said

"Hija, huminahon ka muna,ngayon pa ba tayo mag-aaway away?"tanong ni mommy.
I sighed, i know ngayon ko lang ulit sila nakita and i'm thankful dahil ligtas sila pero talagang hindi ko mapigilan ang galit sa puso ko.

"Sa guestroom nalang po kayo matulog, goodnight po." I said

Nasestress na nga ako sa trabaho pati ba naman dito.

Oh kung sana sinabi na nila noon pa, pero ang ex nga ba ni dad ang may pakana nito o nasa circle lang din namin?

Ipinilig ko ang ulo, kailangan ko nang matulog may mga kailangan pakong pirmahan bukas, naisip ko munang tignan ang kalagayan ni Dylan.

Nagsimula na akong maglakad papunta sa kwarto niya para silipin ito.

Dylan is already asleep, namumugto ang mata nito siguro sa takot, kumikinang ang pilik mata nito dahil sa luha

Nasa gilid niya si Grant.

"He's going to be fine, i already make call with my friend, remember Harper Davidson? He owned a security agency, nagpadagdag na ako ng bodyguards para sa penthouse and para kay Dylan kapag papasok siya sa eskwelahan."sabi niya.

Lumapit ako sa kanila at umupo sa gilid ni Dylan.

"I shouldn't have follow you, sana ay hinintay nalang kita dito." I said my tears started to blocked my sight.

"Hushed, it's okay at least nalaman mo ring buhay ang mga magulang mo, don't worry I won't let anyone hurt our son, or you i'll protect you no matter what."sabi niya at hinalikan ang noo ko.

Ayokong mag assume na nagsisimula na rin siyang mag kagusto sa akin, i know he only say that because of the mother of his child, he just treating me like he really are committed to our marriage just so my son cannot find out what's the deal between us.

Bumigat na ang talukap ng mata ko hanggang sa dumilim ang paningin ko at nakatulog.

But before that, there is only one question in my mind.

What will happen tomorrow?
