It was a Wednesday afternoon when Jimin made his way downtown to the office of Jungkook at which Taehyung was working recently as well. It's been weeks since he saw him the last time, back in Busan.
He had his hair dyed black now and started wearing darker clothes than usual, rings on his fingers and baggy shirts layered on top of each other. "Signing those stupid divorce papers, gosh as if he even wants that", he grumbled to himself, kicking stones in front of him while walking down the road. He didn't believe in Jungkook actually being able to make Taehyung happy but if that's what the boy wanted, then that's what he should get. "Go right into the biggest mistake of your fucking life, suit yourself motherfucker", he said, rolling his eyes while almost stumbling.
Jimin was drunk, clearly wasted even though the day wasn't even close to being over yet.
That's what he did lately, to keep his mind somehow away from the boy he missed with every passing day.
It wasn't fair, it just wasn't. But no one cared for it.
"Woah, what put you in such a mood?", a girl's voice made Jimin look up from the ground, meeting the eyes of a blonde.
Lyza was walking the same way like he did, holding two lunch bags in her arms. "Life", Jimin groaned, not even questioning why the girl was in Chicago.
"Oh hell", she sighed, "Where are you going?"
"Signing the divorce papers", Jimin shrugged. "It's two days before his birthday and when I asked him if I can give him a present he told me to come sign the papers, that'd be enough", the boy laughed helplessly. "Isn't it funny? How I'm the one who took care of him all those years yet I can't even give him a proper birthday present", he let out a frustrated sigh. "Bet Jungkook gives him something random like a damn book or something and he gets all happy about it."
He shook his head disappointed, stumbling forwards.
"Are you drunk?", Lyza asked, eyebrows lifted when she grabbed the bottle from Jimin's bag, looking at it. It was beer. "Jesus, Jimin it's not even 5pm."
She took the bottle away and threw it to the bin. "Weren't you the one who kept Taehyung away from the bottle when he needed it? Why are you pulling the same shit now?"
"There's no one keeping me from it", Jimin smiled. "Not a single soul gives a shit."
"What about Yoongi? Jungkook said you're back with him?"
"I thought I was", Jimin shrugged. "And I am-, k-kinda. I live at his place lately but this shit isn't real man. He left me for Hoseok back then and he keeps crying after him. I'm sick being everyone's second choice, y'know?"
"I know", Lyza nodded, knowing a little too well how that felt. "I know, Jimin", she let out a sigh and patted his shoulders.
"Of course you do", Jimin laughed weakly, "You're in the same spot, still crying after your Ex who fucking left you for the most toxic shit he could ever get into."
Lyza shrugged, "They're happy with each other, Jimin. Let it go. Some people are just meant for each other and some aren't. We weren't meant for them."
"Why is it so fucking hard to let go then?", Jimin snapped. "Why does it keep me awake at night and haunt me during the day? Why is Taehyung the only fucking thing on my mind all the goddamn time? I'm so sick of it Lyz."
The girl shrugged, "It gets easier when you realise that you can still be in touch with them even without being their lover. It's better than not being part of their life, y'know."
"Is it though?", Jimin lifted an eyebrow. "I'm not going to look at Taehyung being all happy and blushy with fucking Jungkook even though this bitch is the reason he lost half his youth to being bullied and then got left behind."
"But that's how it is, all we can do is move on-"
"But why?? Why for fuck's sake? Why do I have to be fine with him leaving me? I did nothing wrong. I-"
"No one cares about us in this thing, Jimin", Lyza laughed weakly, "Imagine this being a movie. We're not the main characters. Do you ever think about what happens to the Exes of the protagonists once they find the one they're supposed to end up with? Right. It's not of importance."
Jimin could feel a tear falling from his eye, "I want to be from importance for someone too, at least once. Yoongi and Hoseok left me out without even thinking twice, it took Taehyung not even a second to tell me he'll put Jungkook above me no matter what.."
Lyza wrapped an arm around the boy's shoulders, luckily he wasn't that much taller so she could easily comfort him. "Oh dear", she hummed, "You need to get your mind off this. Let's go in, sign the papers and then you'll go home and drink some water."
Jimin rolled his eyes, "What are you even doing here?"
"They forgot their lunch so I'm bringing it to them", Lyza shrugged. "And you have nothing better to do?", the boy questioned, shaking his head.
"Not really", Lyz said in a small voice.
"You-, we're too good for all that", Jimin said. Lyza didn't say anything, she just dragged him upstairs to enter the building.
When they walked in the first thing they noticed was white marmor everywhere. This looked like some fancy shit. High walls, Lyza's heels leaving clicking sounds on the ground while walking and the smell of a whole new building. Jungkook seemed to got himself a pretty nice job in here.
"Gosh, it's making me sick", Jimin scrunched his nose. "How can this boy get everything?"
"He deserves it", Lyza only said, "His life sucked, he deserves to finally be in a good place Jimin. Stop being all mad at Jungkook when it's Taehyung who hurt you. Jungkook did nothing wrong."
Jimin rolled his eyes, "I have no idea how you're doing this. Supportive of your Ex who broke your heart, acting like everything's so fucking fine when it's not."
"Sometimes all you can do is pretend that everything is fine and eventually it will be", Lyza said back.
Jimin scoffed, not replying any further. Instead they knocked on the door after they arrived on the right floor.
"Good Afternoon", a soft man's voice appeared right when they entered the hallway that lead to Jungkook's office. "Hi", Jimin said shortly while Lyza gave the man a smile. "Nice to see you, Mr Kim", she hummed and then passed by. The girl had seen the man a few times by now since she often dropped Jungkook off here. It's the least she could do for letting her stay at his place all the time.
They knocked on the door of Jungkook's office.
It took them a while until they heard Jungkook coughing, "Y-yeah it's open-"
Jimin only rolled his eyes and Lyza pushed the door open, walking in on Jungkook pulling up his zipper while Taehyung was licking his lips. "Oh", the older let out when he saw Jimin, immediately reassuring his posture while Jungkook sat down on his chair.
"Had a good time, huh?", Jimin grumbled, his tone more salty than it was intended to be.
"Kinda", Taehyung giggled, resting his hand on Jungkook's shoulders while the younger was a blushing mess. "Shut it", Jungkook whispered, reminding him of the fact that both their Exes stood right in front of them. "Here's your lunch", Lyza placed it on the table.
Then there was silence because Jimin just kept starring at the two boys, judging them with a passion. Jungkook was the first to break the awkward silence when he reached for the papers and placed them in front of Jimin, "So here's the papers, you can just sign them and we'll send them in. It will probably take a while until it's gone through but you'll get a notice once you're officially divorced", the boy smiled weakly. "Look, I'm sorry", he then said when Jimin only death glared him for even saying that. "I didn't mean to hurt anyone-"
Jimin nodded, "Of course", he laughed, "You're such an angel from heaven, how would you ever hurt someone. Not to mention how you left Taehyung heartbroken for five years or cheated on Lyza while your son was growing up. You're such a great person."
With that he took the papers, signed them quickly and then gave them right to Taehyung. "Dude, I hope that's the right thing to do for you. I swear, if you come back one day saying you regret this, just don't. Don't you fucking dare."
He threw the papers right to his face. "One day you'll realise that no matter how highly you think of this idiot, in the end he's just a stupid selfish bitch. Just like you, actually you two fit each other."
Lyza grabbed him by his wrist and pulled on it strictly, "Jimin let it be. They didn't chose to fall for each other, bet if they had the choice they would've stopped loving the other back in elementary school."
Jimin shrugged, "I don't fucking care if they love each other. It's about the things they do to the people who love them. Both of them have a thing of using everyone until they don't need them anymore. The only one they actually care about is themselves or each other. And I'm so fucking done with this. I'm glad being 27 years old now, I'm glad not to have to go to the same college like them anymore and with signing those papers I'm officially free from this drama. You should do the same, Lyz. Just walk away before they drag you into their next shit."
With that Jimin turned around and walked right out of the door, leaving the boys dumbfounded.
"Lyz??", Jungkook squeaked, "Oh god you won't hate us too, right?"
"Of course I won't you idiot", Lyza said softly and then followed Jimin. "I'm just gonna take his drunk ass home."
Jungkook nodded anxiously, biting his lip when he saw the girl rushing down the stairs to follow Jimin out.
"Are we that bad?", Jungkook tilted his head, looking up to Taehyung with his big doll eyes.
"I guess we are", Taehyung shrugged.
"Should we do something about it?", Kook looked a little confused.
"Maybe just grow up and not break up again because everytime we're not together we hurt other people. We're not meant to be apart", Tae chuckled, leaned down and placed a kiss on Kookie's lips. "Okay let's grow up then", the younger replied, kissing back softly. "What do adults do??-"
"They have sex."
Taehyung said all seriously, grabbed Jungkook by his waist and threw him softly right onto the table, pushing the papers aside while the younger spread his legs.
And then they did adult stuff, y'know.

"Who the fuck are you", Jimin groaned out, pushing away a taller boy who literally jumped onto him the second he walked out of the building. "Could ask you the same, little fucker", the boy grabbed Jimin by his collar, throwing him against a fence behind his back, pressing him against it. "What were you talking with my girlfriend about earlier?!", he screamed, pushing his fist into Jimin's stomach.
"Who's your girlfriend, dude I don't fucking know you", Jimin squealed, eyes filling with tears in pain. "Let me GO-"
"Finn what the hell", Lyza yelled out when she saw the boys onto each other after running after Jimin. "Let him go, right now! He did nothing wrong, he's an old friend from school."
Finn pushed Jimin away, letting go of his shirt when he turned to Lyza. "Baby", he said, voice softening.
Lyza shook her head, "Will you ever stop punching every guy you see with me?"
"I just don't wanna lose you, Darling. I'm so sorry for what I did recently. Would you come back home with me?"
"I like it here", Lyza crossed her arms. "What are you even doing here? Following me? Shouldn't you be running from the police?"
"I did but your parents bailed me out, paid the cops, y'know", Finn smiled. "Come on, Baby. Let's go back to the hotel. There's no need to stay at Jungkook's apartment all the time, right?"
Lyza looked at him for a long time without saying a word, just thinking about her own parents and how they betrayed her once again. Like they always did. She called her Mom just a few days ago, telling her that she's afraid of Finn and that she wants him to stay away from her. And what did they do? Bailed him out of jail.
Thanks for nothing.
"Lyz-, is that your boyfriend?!", Jimin asked with big eyes and Lyza nodded. "Y-yeah."
With that she walked over to him and took his hand weakly. It physically hurt her to come close to him, knowing damn well what was about to happen once they were alone again.
But what choice did she have?
Her father probably already told him to marry her soon. There wasn't another option. After she left Jungkook they yelled at her, telling her that a woman isn't supposed to leave a man and that she won't find another one with having a kid at her age. And when she did, they yelled and said that's the last guy they will accept by her side and she has to stop being a slut.
It's not easy being a girl in a household with old-fashioned parents who didn't see girls in a way they should be seen in the 21st century.
"Let's just go", she said in a small voice, not looking at Finn while they started walking. His hand was grasping harshly around hers but at least he seemed to be cooled down. "I'm so sorry, honey. I'll make it up to you in bed later, I promise", he whispered, pressed a small kiss to her cheek and then walked next to her in silence. Jimin left behind standing with confusion written all over his face.
Did he get this right or was it his mind tricking him-, but Lyza looked frightened to took her own boyfriend's hand?
Should he even have let her go that easily?
Fuck.
Jimin walked home quietly, his thoughts clearing up after walking through the cold air with no alcohol down his throat anymore. Once he reached Yoongi's apartment he got greeted by Chan who was playing the piano and wrote some lyrics while doing so. "Where's Yoongs?", he asked quietly.
"Asleep", Chan replied with a weak smile. "You can eat dinner with me if you want."
Jimin nodded.
It went like this every single day. Yoongi slept through the day so he could be awake at night and work in peace when Jimin was quiet and sleeping.
The boy sat down on the sofa and grabbed his phone with a sigh, scrolling down his contacts until he found Lyza's number. He had to check up on her.
Jimin:
Uuh hey. U okay? You didn't seem too fine when you left with this guy. 😅
Lyza:
Ooh haha, yeaah. I'm okay! Nevermind! We had a fight a few days ago so I was staying with Kook for a while. We're good now, no worries.
Jimin:
Ahh. glad to hear that. 😬
Lyza:
yee. Did you get home alright?
Jimin:
I guess so
Lyza:
That's great!
Jimin:
Is it? 😂
Lyza:
Of course it is 😚
Jimin put his phone down and thought to himself for a moment, leaning back while watching the ceiling. "What's up?", Chan grinned when he saw the boy looking like that.
"Is it weird to ask a girl to grab a coffee even though I know her boyfriend doesn't like me? I just enjoyed talking to her today and I could really use someone to talk to y'know--"
"No it's not weird", Chan chuckled. "Go for it, buddy."
"Isn't it fucking weird.."
"Just ask", Chan grabbed the boy's phone and texted Lyza real quick.
Jimin:
Look! I thought we could grab a coffee some time?? It was nice talking to you today😊
"This is fucking embarrassing, now she'll think I'm a creep", Jimin pushed Chan away from his phone and covered his face with his hands, hoping Lyza would just ignore the message.
Lyza:
Ooh of course!! Maybe tomorrow at lunch time?? Is that alright??
Jimin:
YEs
I mean yes
Of coures.
wherre==?
Lyza:
Minho's??
Are you still drunk??
Jimin
No.
I mean yes.
I mean yesa t m Minho's. I'm sober. Bye!
"Did you ever talk to a girl?!", Chan let out when he saw Jimin messing up his spelling. "Fuck you", Jimin squeaked. "I didn't mean to be that straightforward!"
"Did you wanted to ask her about drinking half a coffee or what. There's no slowly approach to grabbing a COFFEE to TALK."
"Oh shut up", Jimin rolled his eyes and then walked into the bathroom to cry.

"Where's Mom?", Taejeon lifted an eyebrow when Taehyung and Jungkook walked into the apartment this evening. Skylar was sitting at the table with him, Sam and Lili and they were playing board games.
"No idea", Jungkook shrugged. "Hasn't she been home all day?"
His son shook his head, "Not at all."
It was Taehyung who grabbed his phone first and dialed the girl's number. "She's probably with Jimin", he shrugged, calling her number now. Lyza immediately pressed the cancel button, not wanting to get on the phone with him. Skylar crossed her arms worriedly, looking at the boys for a while.
"Dude why isn't she picking up-", Jungkook replied, panicking a little when he noticed that it was already dark outside by now and he did not want Lyza to walk outside at this time of the day.
"She pressed the cancel button", Taehyung only rolled his eyes. "Can someone else try?"
Jungkook nodded and grabbed his phone, calling Lyza. At first they thought she wouldn't pick up again but actually she did after a while.
"Kook everything's fine, please just don't call", she whispered to her phone. "I'm with Finn."
"WHAT", Jungkook yelled out, "Where. Send me the address. I'll pick you up!"
"Jungkook it's fine", Lyza repeated. "Just don't call. I'll drop by tomorrow alright? I'm fine, stop worrying but he doesn't like your calls."
Jungkook pouted.
"So you just abandon me for him", he grumbled, not happy with being pushed away when all he did was care. "I'm not", Lyza sighed. "Goodnight Kookie, sleep well", she hummed and then ended the call.
"She's with fucking asshole Finn."
"Shouldn't he be in jail", Skylar scoffed and Taehyung was only ruffling his hair. "Goddamnit."
"She's old enough to know who to trust", Taejeon only said a little distanced. "Mom never stays long with me and she was here for a month now. Of course she goes back without saying goodbye", the kid explained shortly, a sad smile on his face.
"Oh buddy", Taehyung hummed and wrapped his arms around the small boy. "I'm sure none of this has anything to do with you."
"Of course not", Taejeon shrugged, "Because Mom doesn't care about me. She just leaves me here even though she said she wouldn't go again. No one even asked me if I want to stay here with you and my father who's nothing but a liar lately."
Jungkook gulped dryly, "Taejeon-"
"No shut up it's your fault I can't walk anymore", Taejeon groaned and then looked at Lili beggingly, "Can you bring me in our room-", he asked her softly and Lili immediately jumped up, hurried over and brought the boy right into their room, locking it behind them.
"For fuck's sake", Jungkook cursed, "Can't I do something right for once-"
"He'll calm down", Skylar said, "He's a kid and he's about to go through puberty. Let him breathe", she only mumbled and then started packing her bags. "I guess I'm leaving too then. Lil can stay as long as Taejeon needs her."
"Why are you leaving too?!"
"I was here for Lyz", she shrugged. "I felt like for once I might get a best friend, y'know."
"I thought you two were fucking", Taehyung blurted out and earned a punch to his side from Jungkook who didn't like Taehyung being that straightforward and nasty towards a woman. "We were playing with your xbox when Taejeon heard us", Skylar shrugged. "Playing a game. But we thought it's funny to let you believe that", she winked and then grabbed her bag.
"Lyza isn't into girls as much as I'd love that but she isn't."
The girl walked out, grabbed Sam by his tiny hands and then left the boys completely dumbfounded. "You thought that too, right?", Taehyung looked at Jungkook. The younger nodded slowly, "Hell yes I was."
"We're so gay that we won't recognize straight people anymore. Look at Taejeon, we assumed he's gay too when he was younger", Jungkook sighed.
"Unbelievable", Taehyung agreed. "There's more straight people than gay people I know", he thought to himself.
"Can't relate I would never", Jungkook giggled, wrapping his arms around Taehyung's waist, "Girls are so weird", he whispered and then got showered with kisses all over his neck by the older. "So are you but I love you", Tae whispered and softly started pushing him over to the bedroom.
Which is where they were ending up pretty much all the time for the past 24 hours.
