<3 boys will be boys
The next few periods went by smoothly for Ronnie, everyone loved the whole 'tell me about yourself' portion. In every class she changed up the middle question, one was 'what's your favorite animal' and the other was 'who's your idol,' all in all she was just glad they went by smoothly.
Lunch time came around, she was dreading this, the whole who am I going to sit with popped into her head, it again brought back memories from her time in school.
She figured if she couldn't find anything she could always eat lunch in her classroom -no matter how pathetic that sounded.
In the lunch room she saw a few teachers in line to get a lunch making her feel better about not bringing one. She settled herself in line behind a young woman roughly a couple years older than herself, she had gorgeous blonde hair and a kind aura to her.
"Um, hi I'm Ronnie Daniels, I'm the new history teacher," she introduced. The woman turned to her and gave her a toothy smile filled with excitement, which was a breath of fresh air compared to all the other looks she's been getting.
"Well hi, I'm Leslie Bane the English teacher, aren't you just the cutest," she stated holding out her hand. Ronnie took her hand with a smile already starting to feel more relaxed.
They both grabbed their respective lunches and headed out of the line. Ronnie slightly side eyed the woman wondering where she was going to sit hoping she could find a spot there.
"Are you going to the teachers lounge, everyone should be there?" She asked walking towards the exit.
"Yeah definitely, I'd love to meet everyone," she smiled again feeling almost like a kid being invited to a party.
As they were leaving the room Ronnie's eyes caught the blonde boy from her first period making her stop, he looked more relaxed and had his head up letting her get a full glimpse of his face.
He had chiseled features and dark eyes that looked slightly gold when he turned his head. Surrounding the boy was four other people, two girls and two boys all with the same slightly golden eyes and perfect features making her guess they were siblings even though most of them were wrapped around each other.
Each of them were so unique though making her wonder what the parents looked like. The only one not seemingly matched up was looking across the room very frustrated making her look in the direction of his attention.
Her eyes fell on the Swan girl from next door, she had yet to have her in her class but figured it would happen before the end of the day. Bella looked very uncomfortable sitting with her group of people, Ronnie assumed it was either because of the group itself or the fact that the teen heart throb was piercing daggers into the back of her head.
"Oh, those are the Cullen kids," Leslie stated grabbing Ronnie's attention. She didn't realize she had been so obvious with her staring making her cheeks slightly heat up.
"Their family moved here from Alaska a couple years ago, they're all foster kids so I guess it's ok that they're together."
Said family -excluding Edward- slightly looked in the direction of the two teachers hearing their family being mentioned. The sight of the new teacher made their shoulders tense not knowing how good of an idea it was to have this information out to her.
"The two on the left are Jasper and Alice, Jasper doesn't talk to anyone but his family but he does good on his assignments so I can't complain, and Alice is like a big ball of sunshine she's definitely a fun one to have in your class."
Ronnie smiled at that statement, she loved when people were super happy, she felt it made everyone's mood around them pick up.
"In the middle are Rosalie and Emmett, they are your typical pretty girl/jock couple, just a warning Rosalie will judge what you're wearing if she doesn't like it."
Ronnie raised an eyebrow at that last statement subconsciously looking down at her basic outfit wondering if the girl would judge her because of it.
She will.
"And lastly you have Edward, he is very nice but more of the loner type, actually all of them are the loner type, but Edward takes it to a whole new level."
Leslie began to walk away making Ronnie follow her not wanting to get left behind, but before they made it through the doors she took one last look at the group only to find them already looking in her direction.
The woman gave a smile towards them only for the group to quickly whip their heads down towards the table making her very confused.
Looking away from them she caught eyes with Bella who smiled and waved at her making her return it before catching up to the blonde who was already way ahead of her.
The Cullens watched as the new teacher left hurriedly trying to catch up with Miss. Bane who had been gone. The woman seemed nice but they all knew not to let their guard down around her, just because she looked and acted one way doesn't mean it was her true self, hell she wasn't even a real teacher after all.

It took the duo twenty minutes exactly to reach the house, Becca knew it was a long drive which made her feel bad that the man was taking the time out of his day to help.
Once they pulled into the driveway Becca was quick to hop out holding one of the more fragile lamps she kept in the front seat. The girl was the first to the front door to unlock it whilst John started grabbing things from the bed of his truck.
John was glad he didn't grab something heavier because the second he walked into the house he was practically smacked in the face by one of the most powerful scents he's ever encountered making him freeze.
The smell of coconut and lavender overpowered him so much the box of decorative pillows he was holding slipped from his hands making a thud on the ground.
John was known to have a lot of restraint -unlike his brother Jasper- which made him good to interact with the humans, so the fact that it took everything in the man not to follow his nose made him worry.
"You ok?" Becca asked with a worried frown thinking the trap under the floorboard got him, because of course the nice deputy would be a demon.
John snapped out of his trance like state and looked at the girl who was currently staring at him with a suspicious look.
"I'm good," he cleared his throat. "You good?"
"I'm good."
"Then we're good," John replied walking back out the front door.
Becca just stared after the man who just confused the hell out of her, she didn't know what to make of that whole interaction so she chose to ignore it for now.
After a couple more trips they were bringing in the last item which was a coffee table, John let her help bring it in even though he was more than capable of bringing everything in at once, but he didn't want to look suspicious.
"Alright, that's the last of this load. Do you want to just ride with me to get the rest?" John offered. There wasn't much left to get so the thought of bringing two vehicles seemed pointless.
"Um yeah that'll be great."
In all honesty if Becca wasn't who she was she would never have accepted the ride, or probably the offer of this random guy helping her -cop or not. But with the knowledge of her abilities to protect herself she'll continue accepting offers like a chick in a horror movie if it meant she didn't have to do this by herself.
The car ride was silent, the only sounds were a slight hum of the radio and the rain that started to fall.
John couldn't stop thinking about that scent, he knows what it could be he just didn't want to believe it. For over a century John had been without a partner, when he was human he was never interested in any of the town girls, and when he turned he found out about the term Mate and ever since then he's stuck with it believing when the time comes so will his love.
"So are you sure you're ok, cause I mean I don't mean to pry but you looked pretty shaken up," Becca asked genuinely curious and trying to start conversation.
"Huh, oh yeah, I'm good, I was just shocked at how bare the house was, ya know my daughter has a knack for interior design and I guess she's rubbing off on me," John laughed. He slightly patted himself on the back at his quick lie feeling very proud of himself.
Becca nodded her head accepting the answer, she knows he wasn't telling the truth but it's not her business so she'll let him get away with it.
"Yeah me and my sister haven't really had the time to decorate, which is why I'm doing that now."
Sister.
That word stuck in John's mind like a fly to a flytrap. He knew the smell wasn't coming from the girl beside him or else he wouldn't be able to control himself right now. So the knowledge of there being someone else, someone who smells so intoxicating, made his dead heart feel like beating again.
"Oh you have a sister?" John questioned trying not to sound too interested. His knuckles began to turn white around the steering wheel from excitement.
"Oh yeah!" Becca exclaimed practically bouncing in her seat. "Her name is Ronnie, she's a couple years older than me, she's the new history teacher at the high school and today was her first day."
John tested the name quietly liking the way it tasted on his lips as he listened to the girl ramble on excited to talk about her sister.
"She's so cool, and kind of scary if you don't know her, but she's my best friend. It was actually her idea to move here in the first place, we had been traveling for a couple years and we figured it was time to set down roots."
Becca loved talking about her sister, especially if it was to the cute deputy that was very nice and totally Boyfriend material for Ronnie.
As she continued she didn't realize the internal panic that was going through John's head after hearing that last part.
How could he be so stupid,
They just moved here.
Bare house with no personal belongings.
If his family were here they'd smack him into the next century. Of course he just had to be friendly John and help out the new girl that was struggling to get her car loaded.
Now here he is sitting in an enclosed space with one of the most dangerous people he could encounter. And to make matters worse, her sister could possibly be his Mate.
The man was frozen in fear, he didn't know what to do, if he stopped the truck now to kick her out he'd be suspicious, and if he continued on she might find out about him.
"Hey, you missed the turn," Becca laughed bringing him back to reality, he was so lost in his mind he didn't realize how far they had gotten.
"Man, you space out a lot, we got that in common," she continued as he turned the vehicle around. He looked over and gave the girl his best smile which was slightly strained but he didn't think she took notice.
She took notice. He was acting strange to Becca, he was fine earlier but the second she started talking about her sister he closed up. She chalked it up to him getting annoyed with how much she was talking, so she kept quiet as they got out of the car.

It was finally the end of the day, Ronnie had the rest of the Cullen kids and they all acted the same way Jasper did, it put her on edge to say the least. She's been trying to ignore how suspicious they were all acting, because Becca would kill her if they had another Denver mishap.
Denver, Colorado
Three years ago
Flashback
The girls had their guns pointed at the man who they thought to have been terrorizing the children's birthday party, they've been on a case for the past week trying to find a killer clown spirit that shows up to birthday parties and murders the husbands.
The only issue they've run into is this man wasn't a ghost and he happened to be the father of the birthday girl, meaning when he didn't show up the wife came looking for him. And she found him with a broken nose and two young females holding him hostage.
The girls acted quick, holstering their weapons with an apologetic smile before bolting out of the yard. Ronnie thought they had him, with how the rest of the victims played out she was almost positive that was it.
"God, I feel like a trashy version of the Scooby Doo gang," Becca gasped trying to catch her breath once they reach the jeep.
"I thought that I was right," Ronnie defended before realizing what her sister said. "We are not trashy."
Becca looked at her with a raised eyebrow making Ronnie grumble in defeat. She can't believe she got it wrong, now they were on the run from the cops which makes this so much harder.
Present
That case still gave Ronnie the chills, and they can't step foot in Denver for at least a couple more years.
Ever since then though she's been real diligent making sure she doesn't make relational decisions because of assumptions. The Cullen kids were weird but so was everyone in this town, they're either super nice or very closed off.
So Ronnie's deciding to stay out of it the best she can, not wanting to be involved at all. Well that was until Bella came barging through her door.
"Do I smell?" The teen questioned slamming the door open.
"Well hello to you too," Ronnie replied sarcastically, not expecting the sudden noise.
"Oh, right, hi," Bella stuttered before repeating herself. "Do I smell?"
Ronnie motioned the girl over before slightly sniffing the air around her, the scent of strawberry's hit her nose.
"No, you smell very nice actually," Ronnie answered.
Bella huffed at her response making the woman even more confused. Why would she want to smell bad.
"It's just there was this guy in my biology class," The teen started while taking a seat at a desk. "He looked at me with such hatred in his eyes, and he was coving his nose like I was the worst thing he's smelt ever."
"Was he cute?" Ronnie asked making Bella's cheeks light up. "Because the only reason you would care was because you were hurt that the cute boy next to you treated you that way."
"Well, I mean yeah he was, but it also hurt my feelings ya know?"
"I understand, did you ask what his deal was?" Ronnie questioned. Ronnie says she doesn't want to get involved with all the high school drama, but for some reason she wants to help the swan girl feeling very big sisterly towards her.
"No he ran off before I could," the sad look Bella had made Ronnie's heart hurt, she could tell the young girls self esteem took a big hit.
The woman rose from her desk with a sigh before walking over to comfort her, "look, boys will be boys especially at this age. They aren't used to being around pretty girls like you, and who knows maybe his reaction was out of confusion, no understanding his feelings. I wouldn't get too torn up about it, there are plenty of other guys who would die to have you even look at them."
Bella had a soft smile on her face after Ronnie's little speech, she liked both of the older girls, ever since they moved in next door they've been so nice, waving every morning, asking Bella if she needed help bringing in groceries, all in all they've been amazing neighbors and now one a good teacher.
"Thanks Ronnie," Bella said grateful. Ronnie just gave the girl a soft smile and a shoulder squeeze before sending her on her way.
Today has been a good day for the young brunette -despite the weird Cullens- , she had good classes, made a new teacher friend, and found some revenge on Becca. She's becoming even more excited about this place, it's going to be good for them she can feel it.
─━━━━━━⊱♡⊰━━━━━━─
Back at the house Becca has been diligently placing all the furniture since John left. He had been acting very strange since the truck ride. She didn't know what she had said or did to cause this tension but it must of been bad enough to cause him not to step foot back in the house.
All that was said after he quickly grabbed everything was a short goodbye followed with a "good thing you have the chief of police next door if you ever need anything" before he sped off leaving a very confused Becca in the doorway.
Of course the girl was suspicious of his behavior, the hunter in her wouldn't have it any other way, but the need for a normal life part knew not to question it, just let it go.
So that's what she'd been doing, when he left she turned on her MP3 shuffling her rock playlist and got to work. It's been a few hours since he left and she was almost finished with the living room before she had to go pick up Ronnie.
Sitting outside the school she saw her sister making her way through the crowd with a little pep in her step compared to this morning.
"Hey girl," Becca greeted as Ronnie got in the jeep. The woman seemed to be in a better mood making Becca happy.
"Hey," Ronnie greeted back.
"How was your first day?"
"It went good, I met this other teacher who I feel like is going to be a good friend, and the kids were nice except for this one group, but I would count today as a success."
Ronnie looked out at the parking lot towards the Cullen kids who were already starring at her almost like they were listing. The way their eyes were piercing into her soul made the woman scoff.
She was getting annoyed, how dare these kids blatantly ignore her in class, but have the audacity to stare her down whilst she was leaving. If she wasn't their teacher and they weren't kids she would definitely of kicked their asses.
"Well that's good, I'm glad you're enjoying it, this place might be good for you."
"Well, good for us," Ronnie said with an evil smile completely forgetting about the kids.
Becca looked at her sister with a scared expression, she didn't like how she said that and she was sure she wasn't going to like the next thing that came out of her mouth.
"How good are you running shoes, cause you're gonna need them."
