<3 an apple a day

"Fuck!"

Becca had been yelling all morning, not only did she have to wake up before the sun, but today was her first day as a high school gym teacher.

It seemed the universe was mad at her today as well because she was running into every corner she turned and side table she passed, which was adding to her annoyance.

Ronnie who had been ready to go for half an hour was sat at the kitchen table watching her younger sister struggle finding amusement every time she would flip off inanimate objects.

"You do know I despise you right now," Becca said after hearing the older girl laugh. She had just dropped her shoe underneath the couch and the sad face she made finally broke Ronnie who had been trying to hold it in.

Ronnie continued to laugh at her sister who eventually began laughing with her, the moment was nice after the other nights mishap.

The sisters didn't talk about what happened but that didn't mean they hadn't forgot about it, so for them to just sit there and laugh with one another was refreshing.

Ronnie drove today which was rare, but given how the morning was going so far Becca let it slide. The parking lot was full like normal only this time they had to find an actual parking spot, which seemed impossible. The only free one was over by where the Cullen children parked and Ronnie was clearly trying to avoid it making Becca confused.

"Just park over there, this going in circles thing is making me nauseous," Becca exclaimed.

Ronnie huffed really not wanting to but finally pulled into the spot. The Cullens were standing there watching them go around in circles, Emmett and Jasper were amused making the girls smack them when a few giggles escaped.

"Ok cool, now that the merry-go-round ran out of quarters we can go inside," Becca said playfully whilst opening her door.

It was freezing outside, ice was forming on the ground making everything slippery, and the wind whipped her hair harshly making her pull her hood up blocking the Cullens from getting a good look at her.

Ronnie exited the vehicle and made instant eye contact with Jasper who could feel the nerves coming off of her.

"Hello," Ronnie greeted before following after her sister who had made it across the parking lot.

Cullens looked at the two sisters feeling even more on edge now that both of them were here.

"It'll be fine," Alice said trying to reassure everyone including herself.

The gym was huge, way bigger than the one she used in school. The bleachers were wide and tall perfect for naps, and she got her own office which wasn't as big but still comfortable.

She was pretty happy with it, until all the students began piling in making the once big gym seem ten times smaller.

She had no game plan, hell when she was actually in school the only thing she did during gym was skip in the art room that was never occupied during that hour.

The students stared at the new teacher, she was equally as beautiful as the other new teacher. Bella -who was in that class- was relieved to see her, the young girl hated gym and maybe with her neighbor being the new teacher she would be able to sit out.

Becca's seen enough movies to know sort of what to do, but given how little she went to actual gym class she was sure she'll bomb it.

"Ok class, my name is Becca Daniels, you might know my sister she just started as the new History teacher. Now I know some of you guys are Anti-gym, trust me when I was your age I was the founder of that club, but we're gonna hopefully have some fun."

The kids continued to stare at her not believing a word she was saying because how can someone make exercise fun, but because she was the queen of improvise she knew just what to do.

"Alright everyone, this little item you might remember from your childhood," Becca stated dragging out a huge colorful tarp.

The students began getting excited, the colorful tarp was old and worn but so many memories were held inside of it.

The rest of the period was spent re-learning how to use it and having fun playing under it. Becca felt proud that she got everyone to join in even the ones who seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but there.

Each class followed the same way, of course there were a few hiccups from students trying to show off and hurting themselves to kids thinking they're too cool to join, but over all it went smoothly.

As the day came to an end Ronnie began heading out towards the jeep, she had finished all of her paperwork during lunch letting her leave when all the kids were let out.

As she was walking towards the jeep she couldn't help but notice Bella who was leaning against her old red truck having a stare down with Edward.

Now Ronnie told herself she wasn't going to intervene, but given the fact she actually cared for the girl and she's already confided in her, she figured she'd help her out.

But right as she reached the young girl, before any words could be exchanged the sound of tires screeching on the pavement brought both of their attention to the van sliding right toward them.

Without thinking Ronnie was quick to grab onto Bella who stood frozen in fear and dragged both of them towards the ground hoping to avoid being crushed between the metal.

With Ronnie covering the girl she was waiting for the impact to crush her possibly killing her, but the sound of metal crunching then silence made her look up only to see Edward standing there his hand practically going through the van with a crazed look in his eye directed straight at Bella.

Edward shifted his eyes to the teacher suddenly realizing what his actions could cause, he just practically exposed his family to one of their most dangerous enemies meaning he just risked all of their lives.

Ronnie didn't know what to think, she was obviously grateful for the boy saving her and Bella's life, but that didn't mean she wasn't aware of how he had done it. No human can stop a van with his bare hands, even with an adrenaline rush, making her on high alert.

The sound of students screaming and crowding around them brought the trio back to their senses, Edward took this chance to quickly hop over the van walking straight towards his vehicle not looking at anyone especially his family.

The ambulance had arrived within minutes taking the two girls to the hospital even though they insisted they didn't need to.

Charlie had been called immediately which made Bella upset because of how over the top he'll be making Ronnie laugh at her groaning.

The doors swung open revealing a terrified Charlie looking around frantically before finally setting eyes on his daughter.

"Bella," he sighed relieved. "You okay?"

He began walking towards them when he caught sight of Tyler making him point threateningly, "you and I are gonna talk."

"I'm fine, dad calm down," Bella said brushing him off. Two nurses were assessing them while they waited for the doctor who's apparently very good looking according to Ronnie's nurse.

"I'm sorry Bella, Miss. Daniel's, I tried to stop," with the mention of the teacher Charlie looked over towards the woman asking her the same questions as his daughter.

"I know, it's okay," Bella replied not wanting him to feel so guilty.

"Yeah, Tyler you didn't mean too," Ronnie said agreeing with the girl.

"No," Charlie stated clearly not as forgiving. "It sure as hell is not okay."

"Dad, it wasn't his fault," Bella tried but Charlie wasn't listening.

"You could have been killed, both of you, you understand that?" He questioned making Ronnie feel like she was being scolded like a child.

"Yeah, but I wasn't, so..." Bella trailed off not knowing what else to say to convince him.

"You can kiss your license goodbye."

Before he could continue the E.R. doors swung open again revealing a tall man wearing a white coat indicating he was the doctor, the nurse was right the man was handsome, not Ronnie's type, but she knows her sister would have a field day with him.

"I heard the chiefs daughter was here," he stated walking through with a charming smile.

"Ah, Dr. Cullen," Charlie greeted relieved to see a familiar face.

"Charlie. I've got this one Jackie," Dr. Cullen stated letting the nurse move onto another patient.

"Isabella," he started only to be cut off by the young girl.

"Bella."

"Well, Bella, looks like you took quite a spill, how do you feel?" Dr. Cullen questioned still looking over her chart.

"Good."

Dr. Cullen held up one finger in front of her face with a flashlight in the other, "look here, you might experience some post-traumatic stress or disorientation, but your vitals look good. No signs of any head trauma. I think you'll be just fine."

"I'm so sorry, Bella. I'm really-," the voice of Tyler began only to be cut off by Charlie yanking the curtain closed.

Bella looked over at Ronnie who was still getting her vitals taken before she spoke again, "you know, it would've been a whole lot worse is Ronnie and Edward weren't there, they knocked me out of the way."

Ronnie was confused on why she chose not to mention him stopping the van but honestly if she was in her shoes with no knowledge of the supernatural she probably would try to avoid bring it up as well.

"Edward, your boy?" Charlie asked making the man look up for a second.

"Yeah, it was amazing. I mean he got to us so fast, right Ronnie?" Bella asked making all three look at the woman. Ronnie just nodded her head slightly wishing Bella didn't bring attention onto her.

If she would have known the strange kids father was going to be her doctor she would have jumped from the ambulance herself so she didn't have to interact with him, but now here she was trying everything not to look at the man who seemed like he was equally trying to avoid her.

"Sounds like you two were very lucky," he stated going to walk away before the nurse that was checking Ronnie out called him over finally finished with her vitals.

The man sighed slightly in disappointment, he was hoping he could get away fast enough so another doctor could take a look at her, but luck just wasn't on his side.

She heard the sigh from the man making her confused, why did this doctor not want to see her. She knows his children weren't the friendliest but she was hoping he would give her the same hospitality he gave Bella.

Before he had a chance to look her over the E.R. doors swung open again this time revealing her sister who looked equally as frantic as Charlie did.

When Becca finally caught sight of her sister she felt like she could cry from relief, when she received the phone call from Ronnie that she had almost been crushed by a van she felt like her whole heart stoped.

"Ronnie," the woman breathed rushing towards her sister pulling her into a hug, they were all each other had left and after the whole vacation down under thing happened they never wanted to be without the other again.

"Okay, Bec, you're hurting me more than the van would have," Ronnie wheezed making Becca let go with an apologetic smile.

"Sorry, but are you okay? Like for real, not you trying to be tough," Becca asked making the woman laugh.

"Well, I was just about to find out before you dramatically ran in here and almost crushed me to death."

Both the sisters looked at the man who nobody noticed froze in his spot the second she entered the room.

He couldn't believe it, he always knew his soulmate was out there, that one day he would find her, but he never imagined she'd be as beautiful as she was.

Her eyes were pools of blue he wanted to swim in forever, the way her lips formed a perfect pout that he wanted to devour until she was gasping for air, her face seemed so perfect almost like it was sculpted from his deepest desires perfectly for him to be tortured with.

Tortured because of course the most perfect specimen to ever walk the earth, his one true destiny, was also the most dangerous being for his family.

"Well," she spoke raising an eyebrow, her voice sent  shivers down his spine the way it flows so softly off her lips made his knees weak.

The man cleared his throat finally finding his voice, "your sister is good to go."

Becca smiled at the man thanking him before turning back to her sister, the young girl didn't realize that the simple act practically knocked the unneeded wind out of the man who was quick to hurry off to get a hold of himself.

When the doctor left Becca helped Ronnie get her stuff together, both saying their goodbyes to the father daughter duo telling them they'll see each other at home.

The walk to the car wasn't a long one but was filled with slight arguing as Becca wanted to carry her stuff whilst Ronnie insisted she wasn't broken and could carry it herself.

On the way out Becca's attention was caught by the doctor from the E.R. room, he seemed to be in a heated discussion with some of her students.

When the man looked up they made instant eye contact, she didn't know what it was but the intensity of his stare made her heart skip a beat.

The way her cheeks began to heat up almost made the man loose his control causing him to break eye contact first, the scent invading his senses made him want to hold her close and breath her in forever, which could never happen not with his family's lives on the line.

Once the sisters made it to the car Becca was quick to speak up because when has she ever kept her mouth shut, "an apple a day could never keep me away from that hunk of a doctor."

Ronnie just sighed at her boy crazy sister not expecting anything less but still the things that come out of her mouth worry the older woman.

"Just drive."
