Lloyd POV:

After our conversation with Kai...He retreated back to his old room in the Bounty. Normally one of us would've tried to follow him, but with the information that we just learned...we just let him be. 

"Sigh...Well that was enlightening." Jay said sarcastically.

"At least he agreed to stay." Cole said.

"But that doesn't mean much since we have a mad man chasing after us." Zane said.

"And the same mad man wants my brother to marry him. Sigh...My brother's luck has never been this bad before now." Nya said.

"We must protect Kai. No matter what." I stated. We all looked at each other and nodded before we split up to do our own things. As I walked back to my room, I heard someone humming a song. My curiosity peaked and I slowly stated to follow the sound until I reach the door leading outside towards the training area. As I slowly opened the door, I saw...Kai who was staring out towards the sky with an upset expression on his face.

"Kai?" I asked.

"Lloyd. Sorry for the noise I was making...I just had a lot on my mind." Kai said. I was taken aback by the fact that he outright admitted something...Kai never admits things until he either passes out or we confront him.

"What were you thinking about?" I asked.

"How this all happened. When my life started to go to hell due to Maou's actions." Kai said.

"Kai.." I said before he turned to face me. 

"I never wanted you guys to be involved with Maou's schemes. I wanted you guys to live your lives while dealing with the heartbreak of my death. But it seems like Maou has other plans...and now your lives are in danger." Kai said.

"Listen Kai. We may be weaker than Maou, but we can get through this together."  I said.

Kai gave me a small smile and slowly hugged me. 

"Thanks for the pep talk Lloyd." Kai said before he walked back to his room. I slowly watched him go with my heart pounding against my chest. Kai has a beautiful smile...I just wish that he show us more. 

At the time...I didn't know my feelings towards my teammate and I didn't know how soon he would be ripped out of our grasp by the very man that we're trying to stop.
