Cole POV:

After Nya went to check on Kai, the others and I continued to think of how to stop Maou. He wasn't an easy opponent to defeat especially with his army of undead people. I shudder to think about how many people have been ripped from their peace in order to follow the orders of that heartless conquerer.

"Ugh. We really need that amulet." Jay said which caused us all to sigh. We all knew how important it is to find, but something just doesn't feel right. Why would Maou not try to stop us from getting it?

"We know, but we have to be careful. Don't you think that this journey has been going on too easily?" Zane said.

"My thoughts exactly. We have to keep our eyes peeled and try not to leave Kai alone. If not then..." I started to say before Nya came back. She was alone which honestly surprised me.

"Where's Kai?" I asked her.

"He went to lay down, this entire situation has messed him up pretty bad." Nya said.

"I really don't blame him for being conflicted since Maou...." Jay said before stopping himself. He didn't need to tell us the full sentence since we knew how it ended. Things have changed and we need to be prepared to stop whatever threatens Ninjago. If only one of us were near Kai during this moment.

Kai POV:

I was sitting on my bed before attempting to stop my tears from flowing. I never asked to come back from death nor be the one who managed to get a crazy conquerer to be madly in love with him.

Oh, you think that I'm crazy?

After hearing the mysterious voice, I looked around to see the source before frowning deeply. Of course that psycho would be able to torment me by talking to me in my own head.

You shouldn't underestimate me, my dearest Kai. I would do anything for you besides giving up my revenge of course.

What do you want? I know that you didn't do this to just catch up with each other.

Nothing escapes you which is one of the reasons that I fell for you. I also love your resistance and attempts to escape me...futile as they might be. You see, I just wanted to see how long you're going to run away from me.

I will never stop running away from you. You took me away from my sister, my friends, my home and now you're trying to take away my freedom.

How cute. You honestly believe that your friends would be able stop me and free you from your connection towards me.

We don't have a connection. You're just a psycho who takes innocent people and forces them to serve you. I would never fall for someone that....

Kai stopped talking when his surroundings changed into a sort of hell. Fire was everywhere and the smell of blood was heavy in the air. Kai could hear screaming in the wind and saw the bodies of his team.

Like it? This is the outcome that will happen if you try to fight back against me. You are my Queen and will rule besides me when I take over. You will never be free and no one can save you from your fate. 

My friends will stop you. I know that they....

No one will stop me and soon you will be by my side. Whether you like it or not.

Maou cut the connection after saying that last line to his future Queen. It left Kai shaken to the core since his friends would be walking into a trap. However before he could stand up to tell them about his conversation with Maou....

We're close to the amulet!
