Nelly's POV
🍁
"And finally, Sana and Nelly, you two can be partners." The teacher announces our partners for today's experiment.
I go and stand next to Sana, slightly displeased. Not with her, she's my friend, even though it sometimes confuses me why.
Nazia is the one that hung out with her first, back when the kids in our year bustled around the corridors, dragging their minuscle feet to get to class. I found it rather unusual that out of all the people to be friends with, Naz would chose the quiet girl with a fixed poker face who always sat in the middle.
Not quite a nerd at the front, but neither like our kind at the back.
Eventually, I'd started to like her, especially since the moment she had kicked Leo in his nuts for disturbingly winking at her and and trying to hug her in very subtle ways. It comfirmed she wasn't after him, it comfirmed she was safe.
But not every girl was.
For instance, Lilly Cadet, who was currently trying to hide how pleased she was to have Leo as her partner by putting her best disgusted face.
Nice try bitch, I thought to myself.
Sana observed the elements moulding with each other over the flaming bunsen burner, carefully jotting down the data onto her book, her brown eyes crinckling in concentration.
"Give me a minute." I mumbled to her, stepping away from the desk.
I don't even think she heard me.
With my head boiling as hot as the the liquids around me, I ever so slowly step towards Lilly and Leo's table. Their head are bent towards their experiment, Leo's face sideways tilted towards her fugly face, his mop of hair over his forehead.
He's clearly prentending to listen very attentively to her, he's good at doing that.
The venomous blood was seeping through me, as a stupid smile spread through her face at something he said.
"Hello." I said as nicely possible.
Leo seemed quite startled.
I wonder why.
"What are you doing here Nelly?" Lilly responded with a fake AF smile.
"Nothing, just come to see my boyfriend." I placed a hand on Leo's arm.
To anyone else it might seemed like a casual gesture but I think he got the message clearly.
"Well, you saw me now." He gave an awkward laugh.
"Yes, you did. Run along now Nelly." She hissed. "Run to your caravan."
(Btw, this is racist since Nelly Babushka is eastern European)
Oh no. Bitch. You didn't.
"Lilly that's not very ni-"
But before Leo could finish, I took the beaker holding a blue liquid and hurled it at it towards Cadet.
A high pitched scream broke out, but it wasn't from the mouth of my target, instead from the think pink lips of my boyfriend.
"What on earth?" The teacher shouted.
Although I couldn't see her, I could feel Sana slapping her forehead.
