Note: Sana is having this flashback in her own mind, Nelly is the one telling it to Annabelle in another part of the house.

The party by the lake of Clacktown was in full swing.

Music booming loudly, people crushing against each other in the masses and the alcohol flowing in cups.

The unusual part was that it wasn't a party thrown by Nazia, it was Leo hosting it and at the moment, he had very little to celebrate. Then again, when did my friends ever need a reason to throw a party.

I look around the mix of familiar and unfamiliar faces around me, until I spot our power couple a few metres from me.

There's something different between them, Leo is still the same, but Nelly seems to be different. Her body positions all off putting, and her eyes showing tiredness and another underlying emotion I couldn't detect.

But it wasn't the usual jealousy.

Nazia on the other hand, was nowhere to be seen. She had left her drink with me earlier, claiming she had some preparations to do, the smile she shot me before leaving made my stomach clench.

I maneuver to a quieter part of the vast party, as I cannot stand the brushing of foreign bodies against my own. 

Standing by herself, I find Rachel, but before I can strike up a conversation, I hear the commotion of loud voices behind me.

I turn to see a weeping Nelly trying to hold onto Leo by his shirt, but he's pushing her away, disgust clear in her face. I cannot make out the words from such distance, and I know that the audience around them is planning on worsening the matter, but before I can even try to sort out this lover's feud, I'm distracted again.

Sitting in the slick Mercedes she had received on her latest birthday, was Nazia, her burgundy lips curled back in a evil smirk, and her eyes fixated upon Lilly Cadet, who has seemingly oblivious approaching towards her at full speed.

A scream escapes Lilly's mouth.

But when I look at her, she's simply laying on the ground with a horrified expression.

Under the car lays the body the girl that had saved her life by pushing her out of the way.

The wrong girl.

Rachel.
