Chapter Two
Sitting in a sleek black limousine, Natasha Arora contemplated her future. It appeared that the public weren't the only ones who wanted to see Natasha in a relationship; her parents were also urging her to get involved with someone.
Parth Arora was an ambitious man with high expectations for the future. He had started off as a charming young man, claiming he was exactly what each company needed. What his daughter did with her eyes, Parth did with his words. Parth was a born leader, and it was that and his words that lead him to becoming the founder of an international business.
Whether it was Parth's smile or the cash rapidly increasing in his back pocket that attracted Laurel Christian to Parth Arora, no one could deny they made an excellent couple. Deemed the power duo of the business world, Laurel had cast aside her ambitions to be a model and instead made a name for herself alongside Parth. Laurel was the perfect combination of beauty and brains.
Jazz music filled the limousine as Natasha leaned back onto her seat, legs crossed and a glass of Rosé Champagne in her hand. She took a sip, leaving a dark red lipstick print on the rim.
"Jeffords? Another glass please. I'm going to need it."
Letting out a sigh, she began to rub her thumb and forefinger together, a clear sign she was thinking. "Oh, and Jeffords? Tell me when we're five minutes away. I need to touch-up before meeting my parents."
Taking her second glass, Natasha closed her eyes in hopes of clearing her mind. It felt like it had been only seconds when Jeffords informed her of their location.
"Thank you," she replied, eyes still closed. She gave herself a moment before fully waking up.
Natasha tucked her hair behind her ears and searched her purse for what she believed to be one her most important items: her lipstick. Not wasting any time, she removed its cover and started applying it carefully on her lips. Once satisfied, she smacked them twice, enjoying the slight popping sound it made.
The limousine slowed down and Natasha didn't hesitate to step out of it. Her heels clicked against the stony gravel as she walked down the pathway that led to her parents' mansion.
Within moments of her ringing the doorbell, she was greeted by one of her parents' many housemaids. Giving the maid a curt nod, Natasha removed her heels and exchanged them for some in-house slippers. No matter how rich her father got, he would always follow certain Indian values.
The house that Natasha was in currently was one of her favourites estates. It was, however, relatively simple in comparison to the other places the Arora's owned. She found her parents sitting in the living room, who both stood up to hug and greet their only child.
"Hi Mum. Hi Papa," she spoke, reaching in for a group hug. "I see you both spoke to Eva."
Parth and Laurel exchanged glances before speaking up.
"Yes, we did. And we agree with what she has to say." Laurel said firmly.
Natasha rolled her eyes at her mother and looked towards her father to start speaking.
"As much as I hate to agree with her, Eva is right. A relationship can really put you in the spotlight and increase the popularity of your newest line." Parth continued reluctantly.
Natasha opened her mouth, ready to voice her own opinion, but was interrupted by her mother.
"And, honey, what's so wrong about having a relationship anyways? From what I've gathered, Eva has put together quite a good list."
Natasha began to massage the sides of her head as her mother continued to talk about the benefits of having a relationship.
"Mum!" Natasha shouted, "I cannot be in a relationship!"
"And why is that?"
Natasha let out a sigh before answering.
"It's because," she took a pause, "I'm already in one."
