He couldn't wait.
The small boy stood on the couch, on his tippy toes staring out the window.
His big blue eyes shimmered as it reflected the light of the street lamps. He had a cute, round, chubby face. His mouth slightly opened as he waited in anticipation for his parents return.
He was so exited, because today, he would become a big brother.
His heart skipped a beat as his parents black van pulled into their drive way. He had a big gap toothed grin on his face. He pressed his face up against the glass and watched as his father stepped out of the car. He walked over to the other side of the vehicle to open the door for his mother. A tall thin lady with her black hair tied up into a tight bun, stepped out. She was holding a little baby wrapped up in a blue bundle. She smiled down at the baby, her lips a bright shade of red. His father helped his mother up to the stairs. When he heard the clicking of the lock he quickly but carefully got down from the couch and hurried to the door.
The door slowly opened and his two smiling parents walked through.
"Mommy! Daddy!" He ran to his up to his father and clung onto his leg. The tall man picked up his son and gave him a hug.
"Eddward, my son." He said with a deep chuckle.
"May I see the baby, pweese?" He said cutely.
"But of course!" His mother said showing him the baby.
He had short fluffy green hair and adorable brown eyes. He stared at the baby like the child was a brick of gold. When the little baby saw Edd he smiled and let out the worlds cutest giggle. From that moment on, Edd vowed to never let anything harm his baby brother.
(Eddward's p.o.v)
That was many years ago, this particular memory always played back in my mind. It was the day Mother and Father brought home my baby brother Jim. I was six years old then, things seamed a whole lot simpler. I longed for my childhood days. It was back when we were all happy, back when my family was still together.
My parents are gone now. Not that they were ever home anyways.
They were never really here, they were always away on business trips and vacations. They left for months at a time, I would be forced to take care of both myself and my brother. However, back then, whenever they left, they would always return back to us. They were not coming back now.
Mother and Father left us, they want absolutely nothing to do with us, their own children. I can not help but always feel like this is somehow all my fault that they're gone. My parents, they found out that I am homosexual. They wouldn't accept me, they couldn't accept me, they refused. They said that I'm disgusting, an abomination, a total disappointment and a waste of life and their precious time. I remember how much I cried, they packed up their things and we're going to take away everything from me including Jim. But Jim refused to go, he put up a fight.
He would be in San Diego with Mother and Father right now if it wasn't for his acceptance of me and his apparent crush on a boy named Jared from his class.
So they took their things, their money, and left Jim and I behind. I haven't seen them since they left us four years ago.
Somehow I've managed to come up enough money pay the bills, but whatever technique I had for making cash then, it's not working now. I need to make extra money and fast, or I'll risk having us end up living on the streets.
I walked up my doorsteps, unlocked the door, and took a step into my house. I was immediately engulfed in the warmth of the house. I shivered getting used to the sudden change of temperature, I really detest the coldness of winter.
The house was dimly lit from only the lamp being on. I put down the grocery bags hung up my black coat.
"Edd! Edd!Edd!Edd!Edd!Edd!" Jim yelled running into the living room. He jumped into my arms and gives me a hug. I hugged him back.
"Edd! I missed you sooooooo much!" He said with the hugest grin I've ever seen. It was enough to brighten up my whole day. Jim is very energetic, so full of life. I admire that about him. Even after all we have been through these past couple of years, he has always remained to hyper and optimistic. He is the most resilient person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I hoped that he stays this way forever. "Oh! Guess what I made!" He said scurrying off.
"What did you make?" I said fallowing after him with a small smile.
He came back with a plate of food.
"I made dinner for you today." He said smiling. It was homemade macaroni and cheese.
He was so thoughtful, he always likes to do anything he can to help out. It's enough to bring a tear to my eye.
He set it onto the table along with another plate I would assume is for him. There were also two glasses of orange juice. I took a seat on one of the chairs and I sat across from him. The second I settled down and took a sip of my juice he started young on and on about how his day was. I just smiled and listened to him.
He seams so happy, I couldn't possibly tell him about all of the financial trouble we are in. He would just blame himself for all of this like he usually does even though there is absolutely nothing he can do about it since he's only thirteen now. But I can not keep pretending that everything is alright to protect him from the truth.
